Part 3 The Traveler Chapter 77 – A Road Encounter
With the idea in mind, Klein immediately planned to do some preparatory work.
That is to explore the spirit world, select a suitable object to become a messenger, when leaving Rothschild Islands and the surrounding sea, take the “Scepter of Poseidon” and go there to reason and convince the target to become his messenger.
Once lost, or encountered a dangerous situation, immediately end the summoning, return to the gray fog, so basically no risk …… Klein thought for a few seconds, unlocked the door of the house, began to hold his own summoning ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, he flew into the gray fog, but did not rush to respond, but instead sat down, let the “Neptune scepter” from the pile of clutter, fell into the palm.
He planned to routinely browse through the prayers of the believers to see if there was anything that needed to be answered.
In the process, Klein realized that some of the prayers were actually quite interesting, as humans could lie to their friends and relatives, but had a hard time keeping their truest thoughts to themselves when confessing or praying to the gods, and at best, doing a few embellishments to make them seem not so bad.
A half-breed who had entered the middle ranks of the Bayram Police Department was clearly inclined to convert to the “Lord of Storms”, but in his confession, he tried to portray his behavior as a plan to endure humiliation. For the sake of the future of the local bloodline, he could only make a painful confession to the gods, hoping that K would bless him with the ability to use his status as a Storm follower to climb higher in the police system.
Although his words sounded unbroken, the fluctuation of his thoughts and the ups and downs of his emotions during his confession were clearly presented in the prayer screen, a feeling that could not be concealed.
Deceiving himself and trying to deceive the gods at the same time …… In the place of Kavituva, a big sea serpent with little wisdom, he might have believed it …… Do I give him a lightning bolt, or send him ten wind blades? Well, the hybrid who can climb to the position of senior inspector is very good, keep it, two and a half also have two and a half useful …… Klein raised the “scepter of Neptune”, so that one of the green and blue “jewels” glittered. “The light into the picture, invisible dip into the picture.
The light threw itself into the picture, invisibly saturating the senior inspector called Braya.
This wasn’t a curse, nor was it an influence, it was a mark of the divine level that would hardly be noticed by others.
Simply put, it is a one-sided “special attention”…… Klein silently added in his heart.
He continued to browse, saw a bronze skin color hair slightly curly young believers prayed to the gods let a man called Zhangm encounter storms, buried in the sea, the surface reason is that the other party is not pious enough, the real idea in the heart is, the same fishermen, Zhangm every time the harvest is more than him.
What kind of crap is this, the human heart is so elusive …… Klein first frowned and muttered to himself silently, followed by a vague idea:
”For a ‘Faceless Man’ to be able to play true to form, not only must there be no loopholes in terms of outward appearance, habitual movements, etc., but he must also maintain the basic consistency of his personality, and must not make too many changes, and this kind of thing, personality, is different for everyone, and there is a certain amount of difference… …
”By browsing through the prayers of the devotees, I am equal to seeing different personalities, different mental conditions without so much trouble, and the ‘face’ of a thousand faces is not just about looks ……
”This is quite an important role for my ‘Faceless Man’ subsequent play, it can save the time of accumulating experience.”
Klein felt more and more that playing as “Poseidon” would help him a lot.
When you actually play a demigod, even if you don’t get feedback, you can definitely have a considerable gain …… This belongs to the experience of a higher state …… Klein’s spirit was energized, and he was no longer so perfunctory when browsing through the prayer screen.
After a scene flew by, his gaze came to rest on a merchant called Relf.
This trade merchant praised the miracle of the “God of the Sea” reappearing on the earth, and said that he would dedicate one third of his wealth, that is, 20,000 gold pounds worth of goods to the resistance, half as military expenses, half to rebuild the statue of the god.
Actually, it doesn’t need to be so troublesome, it’s just a direct sacrifice …… Klein muttered half-jokingly.
He thought about it, materialized the background of waves and storms coexisting, heavy rain and lightning falling in unison, and responded in a low voice:
”To help your countrymen, companions, is to call upon my name.
”Those young lambs need rescue, food and education.”
He intended for Relf to set up a charitable fund with the 20,000 gold pounds wealth and seek donations from the community widely to repair the damage, create consensus, and help the pretext of domination to provide some food, clothing, and education to the children with native blood.
As for military funding for the Resistance, Klein thought it through, in a world with superhuman powers, it would be hard to succeed with just the local people of the colonies resisting, so it would inevitably have to rely on help from foreign countries such as Forsak and Intis.
And the provision of funding is undoubtedly a part of that help.
Unfortunately, the Ten Commandments do not include a clause that says, “You must be justified in trying to get money.” This would be detrimental to the image of Neptune. …… The rebels should not always think of destroying the garrison, but rather of destroying transportation and facilities, and making the governor’s rule more difficult. Facilities, to increase the difficulty of the Governor’s Office to rule the main, to fight to promote the negotiation …… As a keyboard strong man, Klein in similar aspects do not lack of ideas.
He quickly collected his scattered thoughts and did a divination on whether it was dangerous to explore the spirit world today.
After receiving the revelation that it is not dangerous, Klein put on the “Black Emperor” card, naturally changed his image and stepped into the “summoning door”.
Entering the real world, he stuffed a few magical items he needed into his body as a precautionary measure, and then, like last time, he sensed the spirit world through meditation.
Taking a step forward, through the invisible curtain, Klein floated unrealistically.
All around him, red, yellow, blue, green and other color blocks were starkly superimposed, as if it was the most abstract oil painting, up and down, left and right and other concepts belonging to human beings were no longer common here, and if one discerned direction and location in a similar manner, one would inevitably get lost.
Klein roamed carefully and casually, sometimes seeing a yellow sun like a child’s sketch, sometimes brushing against a silent but insubstantial river.
There were also flat women with topless bodies, moons with smiling faces, canoes with their heads and tails up, balls of thread in disarray, and serpentine staircases leading to seven paths of pure light ……
In this chaotic-to-the-point-of-confusion world, all kinds of information are compounded in the form of abstract symbols, except for spirit beings, so what you get in divination can only be revelation, and you need to interpret it yourself.
And those symbols have a certain possibility of coming to life and turning into non-physical monsters.
This was the spirit world that could not be understood or viewed with human common sense.
What made Klein feel puzzled was another issue, the last time he came in, he easily spotted the spirit world creatures, detecting a creepy gaze that was gazing at him from nowhere, what with the headless woman carrying four heads, what with the black and white round eyes, what with the giant jellyfish whose tentacles had skulls growing out of them, all of them were so simple to encounter.
But this time, he roamed around for quite a while without seeing a single spirit world creature, and even those figures in the distance with indescribable forms disappeared, as if they were hiding.
It can’t be because they’re afraid to give me a messenger, right? Well, I’m a spirit body directly entering the spirit world, the thoughts in my heart might be presented due to the special intangibility of this place, transforming into hidden symbols, and thus interacting with the spirit world, being naturally influenced by the choice of path? Klein pondered doubtfully, but could not find the reason.
Various thoughts flashed through his mind as his body suddenly sank, free-falling.
After falling for a while, Klein could still only see starkly overlapping blocks of color and a variety of symbols that turned solid.
What the hell was going on here? He began to consider whether to write a letter and ask Mr. Aztec, or to throw his radio receiver above the gray mist and dip his breath in order to contact the magic mirror Arodes.
In the midst of floating on his own, Klein suddenly had a heartbeat and jerked to the side.
A flash of yellow and green swept before him, and a paw so huge that it could have flattened his entire body landed, stepping into the red and blue blocks of color.
Above that paw was a long, festering leg oozing yellow-green liquid, more than three meters overall, and further up, a massive body wrapped in corpse oil bandages.
In an aura that almost solidified the surroundings, those two legs oozing yellow-green pus alternately elevated, and with an unreadable torso, they flew away and disappeared into the depths of the spirit world.
Klein stood farther away, not daring to make a sound.
Finally, he confirmed that nothing was wrong and bared his teeth in thought:
The spirit world is really scary, accidentally encountered a bit of big brother passing by …… Big brother in the spirit world creatures?
Klein shook his head and continued his own quest.
By this time, he was completely unaware of which part of the Spirit World he had traveled to.
After drifting for a while, he finally found some traces of spirit world creatures.
Just as he was about to change from flying forward to falling left, he was shocked to find that his body continued to move forward uncontrollably, and faster and faster.
In front of him, the messy superimposed color blocks and vaguely diffused gray and white fog suddenly split open, and a huge three-masted sailing ship covered in pure black jumped in.
The ship was nearly a hundred meters long, with three sides of pitch-black canvas hanging high like a flag.
It had a single gun port on its port and starboard sides, and on the deck ran busy sailors of all shapes and sizes.
It was all so real, so textured, and so out of place with the overall condition of the spirit world.
But as the vessel entered the spirit world fully, its blackness rapidly thickened, tinged with a slightly unreal flavor.
On its deck, with its back to the cabin stood a two or three meter tall mottled stone chair, and in it sat a behemoth that could rival an ancient giant.
He wore a black beard just above his neck, a tall spire crown, a gorgeous robe with silver trim on a black background, and a face with hard, deep lines so full of majesty that people subconsciously wanted to bury their heads.
In that slightly wrinkled broad forehead below, in that high up above the bridge of the nose, two deep black eyes flowed with dark red light, reflecting the wearing black full body armor wearing pitch black crown Klein.
And Klein was flying towards him with difficulty stopping and slowing down.
The two men’s eyes locked for a moment amidst the cascading blocks of color and various symbols of the spirit world, and then Klein simply disappeared.
The “giant” on the mottled stone chair did not withdraw his gaze, but remained there in a long silence.
