Chapter 21 Painkillers
Senior Brother Li’s eyelids trembled gently, and it could be seen that he was currently having an unusually intense mental struggle in his heart.
After a short while, his tightly closed eyes opened, staring dead-on at the pill in Han Li’s hand with a fervent gaze in his eyes.
Without saying anything else, Han Li stuffed the pill into his mouth and watched him dry swallow it on his spit before gently pulling off the silver needles inserted in his body one by one.
After removing all the silver needles, the medicinal power of the pills began to kick in, and a few strands of abnormal redness rose on Elder Brother Li’s pale face, and his entire cheeks gradually turned blood-red, at which point his body twitched again, his hands and feet began to tremble, and a low moan escaped from his mouth.
It could be seen that he didn’t want to make a fool of himself in front of Han Li and had tried to suppress his voice as much as possible, but this inhuman pain still caused him to roar out.
Senior Brother Li’s roar grew louder and louder, and his body shook even more, and it was only after a long time that his roar slowly began to lower until it disappeared completely. His face began to regain its normal luster, and his body stopped twitching, it seemed that he had survived the most painful stage.
Senior Brother Li slowly sat up straight, his feet coiled around his knees, once again closing his eyes and meditating in place without moving to regulate his breathing, while Han Li looked for a piece of clean mountain rock and casually sat on the side, watching him apply his energy to recover his vital energy.
After a meal’s worth of work, Senior Brother Li, who was sitting in meditation, violently opened his eyes and jumped up as he pulled out the long knife placed beside him, and with a forceful swing of his arm, he only saw a flash of the knife’s awnings, and the brightly shining blade of the knife had already been placed on Han Li’s neck.
”Give me a reason not to kill you!” Senior Brother Li’s eyes released a cold light, filled with killing intent.
”I saved your life just now, does that count as a reason?” Han Li’s face remained unchanged, only the tips of his eyebrows jumped slightly, which could not be detected at all without careful observation.
Senior Brother Li’s face slowed down a bit, but he still stared at Han Li with his eyes viciously.
”I already knew before I saved you that you would most likely kill me to silence me in order to keep your secret, only I didn’t expect that you would do it so quickly.” Han Li finally smiled bitterly, a few moments of self-deprecation on his face.
”Cough! Even though I knew that saving you was actually asking for trouble with myself, since I’ve learned the art of healing, I can’t save you from death.” Han Li sighed.
When Elder Brother Li heard this, a few awkward looks appeared on his face, and the blade moved slightly away from Han Li’s neck, but didn’t completely remove it from his neck.
Han Li secretly breathed a sigh of relief, and the tone of his mouth became even more composed.
”You don’t have to worry that I’ll tell others about your privacy, you’ll know at a glance that I’m not a talkative person, if you really don’t feel at ease, I can make a poisonous oath, you should be able to tell that I don’t know any martial arts, if you find out that I’ve broken my oath, you can easily behead me.” Han Li calmly made the suggestion.
”You take a poisonous oath.” Senior Brother Li spoke crisply.
However, Han Li then put his heart all the way down, although he had observed this person’s face before saving Senior Brother Li and felt that he wasn’t an ungrateful, vicious, and cruel person, it wasn’t completely accurate, and in case he was a villain who would return favors, he would have no choice but to use his only means of protection.
Han Li thought of this and quietly moved his fingers away from an iron cylinder that was shrunk in his sleeve.
After Han Li solemnly swore a poisonous oath, Senior Brother Li finally withdrew his long knife and inserted it back into its sheath.
Han Li touched his neck, which had been cut with a shallow blood mark by the sharp edge and was a bit sticky to the touch, and felt a bit of coldness behind his back, so it looked like he had broken out in a cold sweat.
”This time can be really dangerous ah! One is still not well thought out, must learn from this lesson, say nothing and no longer do this kind of thankless oolong thing, other people want to die or live is their own thing, off one’s own bird business.” Han Li thought with some hindsight.
”Without sufficient benefits and a tenfold certainty, next time one will never make a move to save someone.” He viciously made up his mind in his heart.
The undesirable consequences of Han Li’s first time out to save someone’s life had directly led to his bad habit of not being able to do anything without benefit in the future, and his original nature that was still somewhat simple had been completely abandoned, and although he hadn’t turned into any kind of villain, he was still a long way away from being loyal and kind.
”Your Excellency saved my life and promised to keep a secret for me, I, Li Feiyu, owe you a big favor. As long as I’m not dead, if there’s anything you need my help with, feel free to come to me, as long as I can do it, I’ll definitely help you.” Senior Li had all but recovered the vigor he had at the bottom of the cliff, retrieving all of the miscellaneous items Han Li had searched out and placed on the ground from his body before coming before him to sincerely state his name and make a promise.
”I’m afraid I won’t have anything to trouble you with, but rather you yourself are in quite a bit of trouble, aren’t you?” Han Li smiled faintly and asked him a rhetorical question.
”How did you know?” Li Feiyu froze, somewhat surprised.
”Anyone can guess, you’re an ordinary protector disciple, yet you’re pressed above a large number of hall masters, elders, and even sect masters’ beloved disciples, how could there be a good time for you!” Han Li pointed it out point blank.
Li Feiyu’s face clouded over, and he didn’t speak for half a second.
”I don’t want to care about your affairs, nor can I. On the contrary, I can help you alleviate a bit or two of the pain produced by your taking the Marrow Extraction Pill.”
”Really?” Li Feiyu’s spirit was shaken, the gloom on his face flew somewhere, his face was full of joy, it seems that the pain of the Marrow Drawing Pill tormented him not lightly.
”Why would I lie to you if I’m fine.” Han Li gave Li Feiyu a blank look, of course he had this kind of prescription to alleviate one’s pain, it was still something he had specially researched for Zhang Tie during his free time, it could drastically reduce the human body’s perception of pain and was very effective.
”This is really great! Great!” Li Feiyu rubbed his hands together excitedly and looked at Han Li with bated breath.
”Why are you looking at me with such eyes, I don’t have this kind of medicine right now, I have to go back to Divine Hand Valley to formulate it before I can have a finished medicine.”
When Li Feiyu heard this, he was a bit embarrassed, he had just threatened the other party with a knife, and now he was asking for someone to dispense the medicine.
”Tomorrow at noon, you come and wait for me at the entrance of God’s Hand Valley, I’ll send you the medicine once it’s dispensed, now that Dr. Mo isn’t at home, it’s not good for me to let outsiders just enter the valley.” Han Li said slowly.
”Alright, I’ll be there on time, thank you so much brother.” Li Feiyu hurriedly agreed, afraid that he would back out again.
”My name is Han Li, I’m Dr. Mo’s personal disciple, you’re so high in martial arts, just call me Senior Brother Han.” Han Li heard him even say “brother” so affectionately, and hurriedly told him his name to save him from saying some more fleshy titles.
