Episode 1 – The Ring of the Pan Dragon Chapter 23 – Spring to Autumn (Next)
“Linley, feel that?”
Derin Corvette’s voice softly sounded in Linley’s mind.
“Grandpa Delin, I feel it, so many earth-colored points of light, so many …… too many, densely packed, thousands, on the back of my hand there are over a hundred earth-colored points of light floating, too many.”
Linley felt the large number of earth-colored points of light floating around him, his heart rejoicing.
Derinkelwalt was overjoyed when he heard this news.
“Very well, now you take your time, do as I say, don’t think about anything, be quiet …….”
As if he were hypnotized, Derinkelwalt had Linley recovering from his meditative state in a moment. At the same time, Derinkelvort also gave up his restraints on those earth elements, and all of a sudden the concentration of earth elements around him returned to normal.
Recovering from his meditative state, Linley only felt that his entire being was refreshed and completely different from the past, and even in his waking state, Linley was able to feel some fluctuations of earth elementals around him, though not as clearly as he felt them in his meditative state.
“Grandpa Delin, I can even feel the fluctuations of those earth-colored points of light now. Really, it’s not clear, but I can sense it vaguely.”
Linley was excited at the moment.
Stepping into the world of magicians for the first time, Linley’s heart was very excited.
“What did you say? Feel it even now?”
Drinkwater was shocked, because at this moment, the concentration of earth system elements had returned to its normal concentration. And Linley wasn’t in a meditative state at the moment …… awake, it could all be felt, that Linley’s elemental affinity ……
“Grandpa Delin, why don’t you say something? How’s my elemental affinity?”
Linley said worriedly.
Linley didn’t know if he was doing well or badly at the moment.
“Very good, very good, your elemental affinity is very high.”
Derinkelwalt’s face was filled with smiles, “As far as I know, it’s estimated that it would be hard to find a magician out of a thousand whose elemental affinity catches up to yours, really.”
Linley only felt his heart skip a beat, so excited that he didn’t know what to say.
“Of course, elemental affinity is only part of the equation, spiritual power is the most important! After all, as long as there’s enough time, magical power can always be improved, and only the limitation of spiritual power is the biggest obstacle to a magician’s improvement.”
Drinkwater said solemnly.
Linley took a deep breath and nodded.
“Now testing the second item, the height of your spiritual power.”
Derinkelwalt looked at Linley solemnly.
Linley also knew that spiritual power was very important.
“Grandpa Delin, what do I need to do?”
Linley looked at Delinquent Corvette, who was already prepared.
“Nothing.”
Drinkwater smiled.
“Uh…….”
Linley froze.
“I’m the soul of the Ring of the Discordant Dragon, you’re the owner of the Ring of the Discordant Dragon, I can completely sense the strength of your spiritual power. There’s no need for a test at all …… I can tell you now!”
Drinkwater looked at Linley with a smile.
“Me, how is my spiritual power?”
Linley held his breath.
The strength of one’s spiritual power determined one’s fate.
“Your spiritual power is about ten times that of an average person your age.”
Drinkwater said with a smile.
Linley couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy in his heart, ten times.
That wasn’t a small number.
However, Derinkelwalt continued, “Magicians, there is generally only one in ten thousand people, most notably because of the relatively high requirements for mental strength. The bottom line for a magician is to reach five times the average person of the same age. As for reaching ten times their peers, it can only be considered a medium level in the group of magicians.”
Linley’s original excitement dropped all of a sudden.
“If it’s an ordinary person who comes to teach you, you’ll at most be at the level of a fifth or sixth level magician in the future. But …… if the person teaching you is me, that’s a different story.”
Derinkelwalt’s white eyebrows lifted, and there was a hint of confidence in his eyes.
Linley suddenly reacted.
Right, Derinkelwalt was a Holy Realm Magus.
“As long as you’re willing to work hard, Linley, I’m absolutely confident that you’ll reach rank eight magician. As for whether or not you can become a rank nine magus, or even a holy domain magus, it depends on your own enlightenment as well as your opportunities.”
Drinkwater said sternly, “If you don’t work hard on your own, I’m afraid that you won’t even be able to reach a rank six magician, and you won’t be able to blame anyone when the time comes.”
Having a good mentor to teach was one aspect.
Most importantly, it was still up to oneself.
“Grandpa Delin, don’t worry, I won’t let you down, nor will I let my father, nor the Baruch family down.”
Linley’s mind at the moment floated to the many spirit seats in the clan hall, and the great deeds behind them.
Recreating the glory of the Baruch clan!
Heat rolled through Linley’s chest!
“Very well, starting tomorrow, I will begin to formally teach you.”
Derinkelwalt looked at Linley, his gaze burning. At this moment, Derinkovort once again had the confidence of a Saint Realm Magus in him once more! ……
From the next day onwards, Linley began his grueling days of hard training.
Because he couldn’t tell his father about Derinkovot’s existence, Linley had to continue his warrior training early in the morning and late in the evening, and he still needed to be in front of his father in the morning to learn about all aspects of politics, religion, etiquette, the art of war, geography, and the arts …….
Only in the afternoon, the originally free time, would Linley run to the northeast side of the town, above the ‘Wu Mountain’, and hide in a quiet place, drawing on the knowledge of magic under the teachings of Derinkelwalt, working hard to learn about magic, and at the same time meditating in an effort to refine magical power.
Also, every night after dinner, Linley spent a great deal of time in meditation.
Every day, Linley slept for only six hours, the rest of the time was spent on various aspects of warrior training, knowledge learning, magic training, and meditation ……. Never think that six hours of sleep was enough, in reality, meditating and exercising one’s spiritual energy every day was extremely tiring, much more so than a normal person. Linley’s six hours of sleep every day were extremely deep.
Fulfilling, extremely fulfilling.
In days like these, time passed day by day, and Linley’s progress was obvious, to the point where it could be considered a metamorphosis!
During the course of these painstaking efforts – there was the surprise of absorbing earth system elements into his body for the first time, and refining magical power within his body; there was also the near-fainting condition of over-meditating for the first time, and consuming too much mental energy; and there was also the excitement of that first time of truly casting earth system magic, even if this first time of magic was only to cause the ground to grow a tiny ‘ground spur’ that was only twenty centimeters long;……
One effort at a time ……
Linley’s perseverance, as well as the speed of his progress, also caused the heart of the Saint Realm Magus of the P’ung Empire from five thousand years ago, ‘Drinkwater’, to marvel in admiration.
Because of the uninterrupted warrior training every day, Linley’s body was getting stronger and stronger, because he absorbed the earth system elements to refine his magic power as well as meditating often, Linley’s whole temperament also became tranquil and smooth, Linley’s changes also made his father Hogg as well as Hillman and others extremely surprised and pleasantly surprised.
Spring went to autumn, and in the blink of an eye it was already autumn.
From the magic test enrollment, there was only nearly a month left.
Baruch family residence backyard clan hall.
“Whew, clean and organized, time to go practice magic, yesterday I actually managed to cast the ‘Earthshaking Technique’, that’s great.”
Linley was in a very good mood at the moment, stepping out of the clan hall before closing its doors.
Walking on the moss-covered stone path, Linley walked easily and smoothly, making almost no sound.
This was a kind of strength that earth magi almost always possessed, as the earth was the source of the earth magi, so they could completely manage to make no sound at all from their footsteps.
“Huh?”
Linley frowned.
Ears twitching, Linley turned his head towards the direction of an ancient house courtyard in the distance, “There’s a sound?”
Immediately, he quietly walked towards that side, Linley’s steps were very light, normally it was possible to do almost nothing, and at this moment, on purpose, it was even more so that there wasn’t the slightest sound.
Step by step.
When Linley walked to the entrance of that courtyard and looked towards the interior – “What’s that?”
Linley’s eyes immediately widened.
Only a black rat with nearly twenty centimeters of length was gnawing on a crushed stone, and then with a flash of this black rat’s figure, it went straight to another place where a green stone was placed a dozen or so meters away, and it gnawed on it for a few moments as well. The black rat’s whole body fur was soft and soft, its eyes were dripping, and its furry tail was adorable.
Even this black mouse, surprisingly, stood upright on its two hind legs alone and bounced for fun.
“What a cute little mouse, what amazing speed.”
Linley, who was hiding in the courtyard entrance, was shocked in his heart.
Rats usually couldn’t be this big, usually rats would be annoying, but this rat was adorable, with special eyes that were especially godly, as if it could talk. The most important thing was that …… this one rat was too fast.
“This speed, I’m afraid that Uncle Hillman, who is a sixth level warrior, can’t catch up, how is it so fast?”
Linley saw this cute black rat figure move a dozen meters at a time. It was too terrifying.
Delinkwort flew out of the Ring of Coiled Dragons and stood beside Linley, looking at this black rat with some surprise: “Shadow rat, surprisingly a magical beast ‘shadow rat’, looking at the size, it should still only be a magical beast ‘shadow rat’ amongst the young children.”
“Shadow rat, magical beast ‘shadow rat’? So big and still just a toddler?”
Linley looked in surprise at Derinkelwart beside him.
Other than the Bloodthirsty Iron Bull, Griffon, Velociraptor, Black Dragon, and a few other magical beasts that he had seen some time ago, this was the first time that Linley had ever seen another magical beast, and this adorable rat, it could be a magical beast? A magical beast that could release magic?
