Chapter 339: Wine Tasting
In the afternoon time, Rie Sakai was sitting inside her living room with two friends from the Rosary Society, drinking this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau from France.
The doorbell suddenly rang, and instead of getting up to answer the door, one of the new full-time maids hired to the house took the initiative to open the door.
“Excuse me, who are you looking for?” The maid was a Japanese from a small part of the Kansai region, and spoke Japanese that wasn’t the standard Tokyo accent of the Kanto region, but wasn’t broken either.
“You’re new here, aren’t you!” Watanabe Saki froze for a moment, then quickly recovered and said.
“Yes. Excuse me, who are you looking for?” The maid maintained the professional smile she was supposed to have and said.
“I’m looking for Rie, Sakai Rie. I think you’re from Shikoku Kochi Prefecture by the sound of this one accent of yours. Me, Masayoshi, Rie, and you are still all from the same town.” Watanabe Saki said bluntly.
Once the maid heard her say that, although it was the first time she had met the other party, she believed that this one woman in front of her who was from the same hometown as herself and her master’s family had an extraordinary relationship.
Thus, she did not let the other party wait outside the door and took the initiative to step aside. Watanabe Saki led her new boyfriend, Kimura Hiroshi, straight inside.
As soon as Sakai Rie saw Watanabe Saki, she greeted her with a smile, ”Saki is here! Come sit down and drink this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau from France with us.”
She paused for a moment before noticing a strange man following behind her. In his hand was a cantaloupe in a wooden box.
Watanabe Saeki walked up to the front, not in a hurry to sit down, and took the initiative to introduce herself, “This is my boyfriend, Kimura Hiroshi.”
Kimura Hiroshi borrowed his girlfriend’s relationship to be able to walk in here. While he was delighted, he was also apprehensive.
He first sent the cantaloupe up to Sakai Rie on his own initiative, and then made a very formal forty-five degree bow and said, “Mrs. Kishimoto, hello. I am Hiroshi Kimura.”
Sakai Rie blurted out, “Mrs. Kishimoto? I haven’t officially married Masayoshi Kishimoto yet! When did I change my last name?”
“I’m sorry. I slipped my tongue.” Kimura Hiroshi wasn’t slipping up, but he had thought and thought about how he should address the other party before he arrived.
It was too abrupt and impolite for him to directly address her by her name, Sakai Rie. After all, someone else’s social class was plainly there.
Not to mention that he also clearly knew that the other party was his chairman’s fianc茅e. There was absolutely no way to call Mrs. Sakai, it wasn’t like someone else was going to marry a man with the surname Sakai.
As for Rie’s name, his own relationship with the other party was not close to such a degree at all. Naturally, it was absolutely impossible to call her blindly.
If one called her Ms. Sakai, one would feel that the relationship wasn’t close enough and was too detached. Thus, there was Mrs. Kishimoto, a title that he considered to be the most appropriate.
Watanabe Saeki immediately began to defend her boyfriend, rounding off the conversation by digressing, “Where’s Brother Justice?”
“He left for the house in the morning. I didn’t ask, so I don’t know where he ran off to. Do you have something to see him about?” Rie Sakai calmly said as she held a red wine glass in her right hand, gently shaking it to make a clockwise spin.
“Nothing. This one cantaloupe was chosen by Hiroshi Kimura himself at the Roppongi fruit store.” Watanabe Saki smiled and said as she took a seat on top of an empty seat.
“Thanks.” Sakai Rie was in no hurry to introduce her two friends from the Rosary Society, “This is Mrs. Hashimoto. The one next to her is Mrs. Nagayama. Both of them live here.”
Watanabe Saki greeted her with a smile, “Good afternoon to you both. I’m Rie’s best friend, hairdresser, fellow villager, and neighbor.”
“Since you’re Rie’s friend, you’re also our friend.” Mrs. Hashimoto said with a slight smile.
Mrs. Nagayama just hiked her eyes at Hiroshi Kimura, but faced Saki Watanabe and said, “What does your boyfriend do?”
Kimura Hiroshi just sat down, and openly stood up, movement very neatly took out the business card box that he carries with him, one by one, they are presented with both hands to Mrs. Nagayama, Mrs. Hashimoto, as well as Sakai Rie’s hands.
Mrs. Nagayama looked at the top of the business card and saw that she was the head of the third section of the personnel department of the headquarters of the Hard Gold Group. She couldn’t help but smile meaningfully on her face.
Mrs. Hashimoto similarly looked at Kimura Hiroshi’s business card and said nonchalantly, “Isn’t the Hard Gold Group owned by your family, Rie?”
Kimura Hiroshi replied ahead of her, “I am precisely employed at the Hard Gold Group.”
Rie Sakai looked at the business card and placed it on the table, “How did you and Saki meet?”
“I was the person in charge of the management trainee program when Saki attended. I fell in love with Saki at first sight.” Kimura Hiroshi said in an extremely grandiose manner.
“It seems like your chairman is not a bad person! Still able to allow office romances. In my husband’s company, office romance between subordinates is absolutely forbidden.
Once discovered, either one of the two resigns, or they both resign and leave.” Mrs. Nagayama said bluntly.
“Chairman Kishimoto’s management style has always been very humane. The romance between Saki and I completely does not violate any of the current company rules and regulations of this group.” Kimura Hiroshi explained.
“It’s not like anyone else is secretly engaging in an underground office romance, so why should you be harsh on the two of them?” Mrs. Hashimoto smiled at Mrs. Nagayama.
“I’m not being harsh, I’m just curious.” Mrs. Nagayama then smiled back and said.
“Sit down and talk, aren’t you tired of standing?” Rie Sakai said directly.
Only then did Kimura Hiroshi sit down slowly. His sitting posture was that of sitting upright. He had been in personnel work for a certain number of years. He still had a pair of eyes that could recognize and identify people.
He was not a fool, and could not see that the other two women who were able to sit with Rie Sakai and sip wine were not as ordinary as Watanabe Saeki? Those are noblewomen.
The reason why he chased after Watanabe Saeki’s purpose, is just to be able to use her and Sakai Rie’s good girlfriend relationship to be able to walk into here, and then for the future so that you can step by step to get to know more and broader network, little by little to climb up.
At this time, the maid brought two empty tulip-shaped red wine glasses to Watanabe Saeki and Kimura Hiroshi respectively. Before she turned to leave, she would not forget to take away the cantaloupe that was placed on the table.
Once again, Hiroshi Kimura took the initiative to stand up, and the first person to personally pick up the crystal gooseneck bottle containing the red wine was not his girlfriend, Saki Watanabe, but Rie Sakai.
In this way, he then showed his respect for Mrs. Hashimoto and Mrs. Nagayama by giving them a refill.
After that, he poured red wine into his empty glass. Finally, he poured red wine into Watanabe Saki’s glass.
