Chapter 348: Stress Reduction
In the evening, Masayoshi Kishimoto returned to his home in Nishimabu, Minato for dinner. Since he had called ahead of time, Rie Sakai had personally cooked two of his favorite dishes for him.
“Today at noon, Watanabe Saki even invited me for a meal.” Masayoshi Kishimoto casually said as he sat down in front of the round table in the small living room on the first floor.
“I’m sure she went to see you specifically about her boyfriend’s job transfer!” Rie Sakai said as she understood the implication of his words.
“That’s what I’m saying, why would she come to me first. How could it be that she had to find you first and then give me the word via you.” Masayoshi Kishimoto calmly and unperturbedly said as he chucked in his food.
“I even made a point of taking her to see Ryome this morning.” Sakai Rie showed her disappointment. She felt that Watanabe Saki had not appreciated her good intentions and was bent on still jumping towards the fire pit inside Dao.
“As long as you ask, I can mobilize a job for the boyfriend of one of your girlfriends.” Justice Kishimoto didn’t laugh, but he also mouthed the words.
“Your company’s business has nothing to do with me.” Sakai Rie was completely clear about the lesser of the two and stayed out of it, saying.
“You’re also really too thin-skinned. Why are you unwilling to help your best friend when you can do something just by asking?” Masayoshi Kishimoto put down the chopsticks in his hands was looking towards her and said.
“Are you bored? What are you swindling me for?” Sakai Rie habitually threw him a big blank stare, directly poking through that layer of thin as a cicada windowpaper and said.
“What did I swindle you for? Watanabe Saki is your best friend, not my best friend. Look at Takayuki, Kazuya are my youngest, aren’t they also placed above important positions in the company by me?” Masayoshi Kishimoto said nonchalantly.
“Can that one boyfriend of Saki’s be compared to Takayuki, Kazuya?” Sakai Rie retorted in a voice.
“Since you’re not willing to speak for Saki’s boyfriend, it’s always okay for you to put in a good word for Saki! She wants me to reassign her to work at the hard gold e-commerce company that Ryui Miyazaki is about to prepare.” Masayoshi Kishimoto didn’t laugh and said with his usual expression.
“Are you having fun like that?” Sakai Rie saw through his intentions of trying to trick herself. She wouldn’t fall for that one.
“Japanese native family-style businesses tend to be divided into direct and collateral lines. Would you say that the Hard Gold Group I founded with my own hands is a family business or not?
If it is, there’s nothing wrong with me using someone close to me, right? Even if the other person is less capable, they can still be groomed by me properly.
Although your best girlfriend is not considered to be your mother’s family, she is also your best friend, and is still tainted with some of the side family.” Masayoshi Kishimoto didn’t say it with a single crowning remark.
“Is it true that if I open my mouth, you will definitely do it?” Rie Sakai asked tentatively.
“As long as you open your mouth, I will definitely do it for you.” Masayoshi Kishimoto feigned a serious look and said.
“I won’t open this one mouth, I won’t fall for your one trick.” Sakai Rie suddenly giggled.
Masayoshi Kishimoto spread his hands and pretended to sigh, “If that’s the case, I’m afraid Watanabe Saki won’t be able to stay in my company.
A management trainee evaluation report submitted to me by the Human Resources Department clearly states that it is recommended not to keep your best friend. Her total score was the last among the management trainees of this year.”
Sakai Rie immediately stopped laughing and said with a skeptical gaze, “Are you telling the truth?”
“Believe it or not.” Masayoshi Kishimoto shrugged his shoulders and once again picked up the chopsticks placed on the table and said.
“You cannot dismiss Saki. I know that her abilities are a bit poor, but she does work very hard. She also particularly values this current opportunity and job.
Besides, your company’s evaluation is unfair. She’s an art student, how can she possibly compete with non-art students from prestigious universities such as Waseda, Tohoku University, and Hitotsubashi?” Rie Sakai said in a serious manner.
“Do you want our company to specially add a talent show for art students?” Masayoshi Kishimoto argued.
“I remember that Hard Gold Media Corporation owns TV Tokyo. That should be a suitable place for Saki’s expertise to shine.
You might as well transfer him to work at TV Tokyo.” Rie Sakai deliberately avoided his question and just made her own suggestion saying.
“You’re sort of putting in a good word for Watanabe Saiki?” Masayoshi Kishimoto asked rhetorically.
“I admit it, yes. It’s time to feel good in your heart since you won!” Rie Sakai didn’t make a single denial saying.
“I’m actually feeling good inside my heart. It’s more painful and comfortable than even drinking a cold drink on a three-volt day. Cool!” Masayoshi Kishimoto laughed.
“Why do you just like to bully me?” Rie Sakai bit her lower lip and said in a bit of frustration.
“Who made me a goon outside? So, I’m only able to come home to bully my own woman, thus reaching a kind of psychological balance.
Could it be, haven’t you heard of a saying? Drinking a little wine, scolding your wife, and beating up your children, that’s what a Japanese man must do when he comes home.” Masayoshi Kishimoto said without changing his smile.
Sakai Rie’s body weight fell backward, her back leaning on the top of the chair back, her left palm pressed on the top of her forehead, her eyes still looking up at the ceiling at forty-five degrees.
She was simply speechless at him. This was the newest plutocrat in Japan? He was completely a two hundred and fifty-five man who was not quite right in the head.
“I lied to you earlier. Saki isn’t as bad as I made her out to be. Of course, she’s likewise not that good. It’s sort of a medium to low level.” Masayoshi Kishimoto put away his smirk and said seriously.
“I know you’re under a lot of stress at work, so should I be used as a stress reliever?” Sakai Rie sat up straight and said indignantly.
“Who made it so that I could get one of the best stress relievers from you?” Masayoshi Kishimoto said with more than a chuckle.
“I’m just an unlucky one.” Rie Sakai blurted out.
“That’s not how you say it.” Masayoshi Kishimoto retorted.
“Then what do you think, what should I say?” Although Sakai Rie displayed an angry look on top of her expression, there wasn’t a trace of nameless fire inside at all.
“You should say, dear, you’ve worked hard. I know you’re doing this all for me, for our little family to get better and better.” Masayoshi Kishimoto was mimicking the tone of her usual speech.
“You won, you really won.” Rie Sakai said as she once again threw her body weight backward.
“Is that a sign of resignation?” Masayoshi Kishimoto said with a smirk.
“I have to resign myself to my fate even if I don’t. How did I get larded up and fall in love with you?” Sakai Rie said as she hammered her left fist against her chest.
