Chapter 384: A Scarce Resource
It was past ten o’clock on Saturday morning when Mrs. Mizuhara personally led her eldest daughter, Suzu Mizuhara, to knock on the door of the Kishimoto household. Led by a maid of the Kishimoto family, the two of them walked through the main house to the back garden to meet Rie Sakai, who was sitting on a swing and reading a book.
Sakai Rie was not the least bit surprised by the sudden visit of Mizuhara’s mother and daughter. She just closed the book in her hand and placed it beside her, and then stood up and gestured for them to sit down at the western round table.
“Go get some black tea and pastries.” Sakai Rie told the maid as she walked away.
After the maid understood, she turned around and left to do so. In a short while, she and another maid delivered the things to the mistress.
The maids knew what they were supposed to do, so they exited the back garden without any interruptions, and went on to other unfinished business.
“I came over without greeting you in advance. It’s really sudden.” Mrs. Mizuhara opened politely.
“You’re really too polite. Yuki coming to my place is like returning to her own home. I hope you are not too formal either.” Rie Sakai smiled.
“This child Yuki is just naturally familiar. She’s heartless and used to being big-headed. If there’s anything wrong with her, I hope you’ll bear with her.”
Mrs. Mizuhara had long known that her youngest daughter and the other party were very close. She didn’t get casual about it. Japan was a country with a strong social class hierarchy, and was extremely concerned about the superiority and inferiority of the upper and lower classes.
Although they all lived on the same piece of land, the Kishimoto family was much stronger than the Mizuhara family. So far, the Mizuhara family has no private horse racing, and even more so, there is no plan to spend 100 million dollars to build a private yacht.
She knew how much strength her family had. The price of a single private yacht of others far exceeded the total assets of the Mizuhara family by more than ten times.
Sakai Rie just replied with a smile. She picked up her antique western red tea cup, but did not drink it. She knew in her own heart that the other party would never come all the way here just to make some small talk, she must be here for something.
Mrs. Mizuhara began to take the initiative to cut to the chase, “Rie, I call you this, no offense!”
“No offense.” Sakai Rie said as she put down the cup of black tea in her hand.
Mrs. Mizuhara introduced her eldest daughter who was sitting beside her, “Look at this daughter of mine, she’s almost twenty-five years old. So far, there hasn’t been a boyfriend.”
“That’s not right! How come I heard Xiao Xue say that her sister is the one who has a boyfriend. Supposedly, it’s still a good man.” Rie Sakai said bluntly.
“There’s no such thing. You mustn’t listen to Yuki’s nonsense.” Suzu Mizuhara defended herself as soon as she was in a hurry.
Mrs. Mizuhara gave her eldest daughter a look that couldn’t have meant anything more than reserve. This kind of thing is naturally best said by someone who is a mother.
“It’s just that they’ve met and had a little contact. The two of them have not officially established a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Look at my eldest daughter, in terms of temperament, looks, and stature, she is not inferior to my youngest daughter.
That night, the day of your party, when Yuki came home, she was chattering endlessly. She said that the young men in Chairman Kishimoto’s group of companies were all very talented.
I thought to myself, “Fertilizer doesn’t flow to the outside world. They’re all members of the Rosebud Society, so aren’t you taking care of them a little more?” Mrs. Mizuhara said as she tried her best to defend and promote her eldest daughter.
Sakai Rie was really crying and laughing a little. Since when did she become a Red Bride who matches others? She felt more and more ironic when she thought about the fact that she hadn’t even married anyone.
“I won’t lie to you, you’re not the first person to personally bring your daughter to me. Before you, I had already met several mother-daughter pairs.
I truly did not expect that one sorority to have such a ripple effect.” Rie Sakai had one thing to say.
Mrs. Mizuhara was not surprised at all. How could she not know that well-endowed men were likewise a scarce resource? If she could see it herself, no one else would be blind.
Moreover, in Japan today, there were more women than men. Japanese women’s eyes are looking upwards, and they tend to focus on the top 10-20% of men in the country.
What’s more, those young unmarried executives of the Hard Gold Group, each one of them is able to cross into the top 5% of the ranks. The competition above that was bound to become especially fierce.
“I’m no worse than Mizuhara Yuki! She was able to find a man with such good conditions, so why shouldn’t I be able to?” Mizuhara Suzu said defiantly.
Sakai Rie laughed a little and said, “It was a coincidence that Yuki and Takahashi Kazuya knew each other. Or rather, fate. One day, the restaurant pavilion she chose to invite me for lunch happened to meet Takahashi and Kazuya along with Minamino Takayuki who also came for lunch.”
“Since Takahashi Kazuya likes my Yuki, then I am happy. This one, Takayuki Minamino, I wonder if I can ……” Mrs. Mizuhara said, intentionally not completing her sentence.
“That one of Mrs. Nagayama’s own nieces is quite taken with Takayuki Nanno. However, as far as I know, Nanno Takayuki doesn’t seem too happy with her.” Sakai Rie sort of intentionally sold a big favor to the other party and said.
As soon as Mrs. Mizuhara heard this, she knew there was a door. She said with a smile on her face, “I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you to set things up from this.”
“Everyone is a young person. When we have time, we can all hang out together.” Sakai Rie put it very strategically.
It would never be possible for her to step in and introduce herself in the form of a blind date. She could build a platform. As for the rest, the parties themselves would hook up.
“How is Takayuki Nanno better than Kazuya Takahashi? I don’t want to find a man who’s worse than that Yuki guy.” Suzu Mizuhara blurted out.
Mrs. Mizuhara, not pretending but really giving her eldest daughter an angry look, raised her voice decibels and said, “Don’t pick and choose.”
Sakai Rie had long heard Mizuhara Yuki say that Mizuhara Suzu was always trying to be better than her younger sister in everything, and that she liked to overpower her younger sister in everything. At today’s sight, it was indeed as Mizuhara Yuki had said.
“Takayuki Nanno is also Masayoshi Kishimoto’s childhood friend. He currently holds the position of Personnel Director of the Hard Gold Group. The difference between him and Kazuya Takahashi is that he still has a certain amount of shares in the Hard Gold Group.
This annual income is 80 million yen, if not 100 million yen. He should be considered one of the executives of the Hard Gold Group with the highest annual income.
Even if he’s not the first, he’ll be able to rank in the top three without any problem.” Rie Sakai intentionally revealed Kazuya Takahashi’s annual income.
Mother and daughter Mizuhara’s eyes immediately began to light up. They definitely did not question Sakai Rie’s words. Mrs. Mizuhara couldn’t wait for Takayuki Nanno to become her son-in-law, while Suzu Mizuhara was even more hopeful that the other party would become her boyfriend, and even her future husband.
