Chapter 550: Tomorrow
Rie Sakai walked out of the kitchen and heard Masayoshi Kishimoto and her sister talking from a distance. As she walked towards them, she casually said, “What are you guys talking about? So happy, tell me too.”
“Meiling is preparing to dump food and other scarce supplies to go to the war-torn land.” Justice Kishimoto chuckled.
“It’s truly remarkable that my own sister has such guts.” Sakai Rie couldn’t help but laugh out loud and said.
Sakai Meiling obviously cut through their ridicule of herself and said, “I’m just saying it for fun. How can you guys take it seriously?”
“It was meant to be something to play around with. Even if you really want to do it, you still have to have the capital first. However, I can understand your current state of mind as a college student.
I’ve been there too. Not to mention that you’re studying economics, so you can’t help but want to make a prediction or two.” Masayoshi Kishimoto said with an unchanging smile.
Sakai Rie turned and sat beside him, smiling, “I don’t know anything about economics or anything. All I know is that you came over today, Meiling, not only to see me, but mainly to ask for next month’s living expenses.”
Sakai Misuzu was not offended by her sister’s comment, “If you think it’s troublesome for me to come and ask you for living expenses every month, then just give me the rest of the three years or so of living expenses all together.”
“If I really gave it to you the way you said, and you once again didn’t take long to spend it, would you still come to ask for it?” Rie Sakai asked rhetorically.
“Won’t. If you don’t believe me, I can swear to my face.” Sakai Mirei replied succinctly.
“It’s weird that you won’t. It’s not like it’s the first day I met you. I still don’t know what kind of character you have. Swear? It’s just too easy to be able to get a few years of living expenses by swearing once.” Sakai Rie said bluntly.
“You just don’t believe me.” Sakai Mirei snapped.
“I just trust you too much to do that.” It wasn’t that Sakai Rie didn’t understand that by saying that she didn’t care about her, there was a possibility that she could really be ruthless with that one heart.
No matter what, Sakai Meiling was her own sister that she had grown up with. There was no major conflict between the two of them, just small frictions between sisters due to personality differences and family matters.
The root cause of their incompatibility lies in Masayoshi Kishimoto. Nowadays, he and I have been formally naturalized, and the district office has also issued a marriage certificate.
The two of them were legally married under the protection of Japanese law. For that reason, her mindset could be better than in the past, after all, the wood has been turned.
“When’s dinner? I’m getting a little hungry.” Masayoshi Kishimoto interjected in just to try and divert the two sisters from their fight saying.
“In a little while, there are two more dishes being made by the cook.” Rie Sakai said as she only made the dishes she wanted to make.
“Tomorrow, if you guys have nothing to do, come along with me to the harbor docks.” Masayoshi Kishimoto said bluntly.
“The harbor pier? Doing a what?” Sakai Rie asked in surprise.
“The private cruise ship I sold for you in the first place has arrived. Tomorrow, it’s going to be officially picked up. As for the name, it’s your English name Luna, the Luna.
Our future wedding will also be held on this ship. Our honeymoon will be a cruise around the four islands of Japan. Isn’t that romantic?” Masayoshi Kishimoto said without haste.
Rie Sakai had already spent quite a bit of time actively preparing for the wedding. The names of the guests that needed to be invited for this were changed over and over again by her, and it was always difficult to finalize them.
Parents, sister, and brother, naturally, were needless to say. Should she invite her family and friends from her hometown in Shikoku Kochi Prefecture? Not only did she have to get them from Kochi to Tokyo, but she also had to send them back.
A round-trip airfare would be a big expense. From a practical financial point of view, it would be better to go back home and organize another one rather than that.
On top of that, would the people inside her upper class circle in Tokyo look down on her poor relatives back home for that? Would she be disgracing the Kishimoto family by being so nostalgic?
When she heard that there was a boat, she had solved one of her own problems. Let her friends and relatives come to Tokyo at their own expense, and then they could also take the boat out with her and Masayoshi Kishimoto on their newlywed honeymoon. This arrived at a port call in Kochi Prefecture, Shikoku, and sent them all home as well.
Meanwhile, Sakai Mirei’s heart was sour. The expression on her face was completely revealing her innermost thoughts of unhappiness plus envy and jealousy.
For the nth time, her head was filled with the thought that all of this should have belonged to her, but because of her sister, she was left empty-handed.
Seeing that neither of the sisters said anything, Masayoshi Kishimoto smiled and said, “You guys are giving me a reaction. Not only are the two of you sisters in the crowd going to the harbor pier tomorrow, but I’ve also called Kazuya, Takayuki, and Yuki along.”
“What reaction do you want me to give you?” Sakai Misuzu said in the moment as if she even wanted to die.
Masayoshi Kishimoto could see how upset she was. Thinking to himself that she just kept taking the bull by the horns said, “This has a boat, then in the future you can go out to sea.”
“It’s not like the ship is mine, and it’s not named after my English name.” Sakai Mirei’s tone had a lemony sour flavor in it.
“In the future, there will be that one man who loves you will carry a named ship with your English name.” Masayoshi Kishimoto said soothingly.
“In the future? You gave me that assurance with such confidence? If there isn’t such a man, are you claiming?” Sakai Mirei asked in a series of just three fuming questions.
“I’m not in the insurance business.” Masayoshi Kishimoto only had to lighten the mood and laugh.
“I knew you were cajoling me for fun.” Sakai Mirei snorted heavily at him.
“I’ll go. No matter if it’s raining, windy, or thundering, it won’t stop me from going.” Sakai Rie stated.
Masayoshi Kishimoto looked at Rie Sakai and asked, “What about you?”
“I don’t know.” Sakai Meiling currently had some chaos inside her head and some sadness in her heart said.
“In addition to inviting those few good friends you all know, I’ve also invited several high rollers from famous families. At that time, all of them will be introduced to you.” Masayoshi Kishimoto had already prepared for the other hand long ago and said.
“Not interested.” Sakai Meiling said firmly.
“You’re such a big person. If you don’t even fall in love, aren’t you a freak?” Masayoshi Kishimoto said kindly.
“Whether I fall in love or not is my business, it’s none of your business.” Sakai Meiling could no longer forcefully hold back the tears inside her eyes, and her voice choked.
After she finished speaking, with tears in her eyes, she stood up and ran towards the stairs, and then hurriedly ran up the stairs with a “thump, thump, thump”.
