Volume 9 Chapter 14 Heavenly Stone
Tian Shi is the ancient people’s name for meteorites. Ancient people saw meteorites falling from the sky and called them Tian Shi. There are many types of Tian Shi, and they are often used as carving materials. The most precious one is called Tian Xin Shi.
This could only be a meteorite, otherwise it would be impossible to explain the phenomenon we saw. It is impossible for human beings to insert such a huge round stone into the rock formation. But this meteorite is too big. How much of it is embedded in the rock? It’s hard to imagine.
Others gradually reacted, and one after another they turned on their lamps and shone them around the ceiling of the cave, trying to find the edge where the meteorite met the ceiling of the cave. They found that the diameter was at least 500 or 600 meters, and if you included the size of the rock inside, it was estimated to be nearly a kilometer in diameter.
The holes made the meteorite look ugly, like a huge rotting beehive. For some reason, I always felt that this thing looked like the kind of pills we saw. The holes were pitch black, and when I shone the light in, I couldn’t see anything inside. I didn’t know how they were formed. Looking at the countless dark holes above your head, like tiny eyes, I suddenly felt a strong sense of being watched, which made me feel uncomfortable.
Wen Jin said, “This must be our destination. This must be the final secret of the Queen Mother of the West. Wang Zanghai is probably looking for this thing…”
“What does he want this for? What is the use of this meteorite?” I couldn’t understand.
Wen Jin also shook his head: “I’m not sure yet. It might have something to do with these holes. How come there are so many?”
I looked at the holes on the back of the meteorite and shuddered. “Could it be that it was dug out by hand? Damn it, could there be something inside the meteorite?”
Black Blind suddenly said, “No, this should be natural. Many meteorites are honeycombed, but these holes are just a little ugly.”
He suddenly spoke seriously, which I was not used to. One of Uncle San’s employees said, “Have you heard of an unconfirmed theory that the Qaidam Basin and the Tarim Basin were formed by the impact of a split asteroid? This thing may be a fragment of the asteroid at the time. The oasis of Tamudu is the eye of the meteorite impact. The Queen Mother of the West built the Queen Mother of the West City in this meteorite crater, and discovered this meteorite deep in the ground when building the underground reservoir. I guess this thing must be a symbol of the Queen Mother of the West’s divine right.”
This was the second time this guy had spoken. I had never paid attention to him before, but when I looked at him, I couldn’t remember his name. I was about to ask him about the details of his theory, but I was distracted by the fat guy.
The fat guy was also undisciplined and didn’t know when he and the silent oil bottle had gone very far, about 400 to 500 meters away from us. We waded across and got to their position, only to see the junction of the meteorite and the ceiling of the cave. The situation here is like hell. A large number of stone pillars hang down from above, forming a large, strange, huge stone waterfall. The slope is very gentle and can be walked up, and it is ridiculously large, like a small mountain.
This is not a karst landform. These stone waterfalls are hideous and ugly, like the countless tentacles of a giant monster stuck together. This should be a strange sight formed by the high temperature melting of rocks after a meteorite impact. I can’t describe it in words.
On one of the widest and largest stone waterfalls, we saw crude stone steps with bronze lamps on either side. At the top of the stone steps, the part where the stone waterfall and the cave ceiling were connected had broken off, and the fracture had been repaired into a stone platform. I looked back at the surrounding situation and understood that it must be a sacrificial altar. From that altar, you could get close to the meteorite and have a panoramic view of the sacrifice.
The most important thing was that on the sacrificial altar, I could see a stone throne with several horns, which was too large to see clearly, but on the throne, I could see a person sitting.
I took a deep breath and thought to myself, who could it be? Could it be the Queen Mother of the West? She’s been here for so long, guarding her sacred place?
