Chapter 166.
The woman blew a long whistle that seemed to penetrate everything.
It didn’t take long.
Deep within the fire, an old man walked out.
He was bowed and hunched over, and looked to be dying, but his eyes were hale and hearty, and as he walked on the mountain path of the blaze, he was still smooth, and the most frightening thing was – he had a hood over him.
The fire and the heat seemed to be insulated.
He stepped out of the blaze, his eyes with drooping lids sweeping toward the four.
The woman got serious and hung her head, “Priest.”
Even the prisoner and the young man, who had been rampant, stood up and bowed their heads honestly.
Dull Melon did likewise.
The old man looked at Dull Melon and frowned, “Who is he?”
The broken gong voice made a hoarse sound that was a bit harsh.
The woman thought for a moment and replied, “His name is Dull Melon, a newcomer, helping the other companions deliver energy sources, so stupid that he can’t be counted on at all.”
She frowned at the thought of the teenager’s stupidity.
Dumbass was stupid to a point that the first thing that came to mind when thinking of him was stupidity, not suspicion.
The older man nodded and withdrew his gaze.
— It seemed the woman knew the teenager well, so there was nothing to worry about.
It had never been only fae hiding among humans, never seen a human hiding among fae.
Who would do that?
For one thing, it was hard to do, and for another, what was the purpose? Looking for death?
The old man didn’t say much, released a few transparent covers inside the fire, and returned on his own, leaving behind a sentence:
“Go back, the ceremony is about to begin.”
Several people hurriedly drilled into the hoods.
The teenager also followed, a pair of golden eyes looking at the transparent hoods, his eyes dribbling.
The mountains in the plains region were not very high, and they soon went up to the top.
The topmost part of the mountain had been burned out, instead there were no flames, and it seemed to have been smashed by the spattered debris, the top of the mountain was concave, hidden amongst the surrounding blaze, instead it formed a unique and safe place, where even the shroud that insulated the flames could be dispensed with.
The fae had picked a good spot.
It was only when they entered the top of the mountain that they realized that there were more than fifty other fae inside!
They surrounded a pool as if waiting to perform some kind of ceremony, these cruel and violent fae were, at this moment, quiet to the extreme.
The teenager saw the pool with a slight stutter.
Inside was blood, and extremely fresh blood at that.
There were a dozen other human corpses around, already drained of blood and not breathing, and two corpses were still warm, and the blood flowed into the pool along their wrists ……
The old man approached with the four men.
He stood next to the pool of blood and slowly opened his mouth, “You may prepare to begin.”
The woman immediately skillfully took out six meteorite fragments, or as they called them – energy sources.
After the old man looked at them, he nodded, “You may stand at position one.”
The woman was overjoyed and directly placed the fragments into the blood pool, while standing on the left side of the priest, the so-called number one position.
The prisoner then did the same as the young man.
The young man was dumbfounded, but operated in the same manner as them.
He had only provided two shards, but there were many more fae that had not, so he was also well positioned in position four, next to Prisoner.
The meteorite shards went into the pool of blood and bubbled away.
Nerd could see that there were many more meteorite fragments in there, sinking to the bottom of the blood pool.
–Even if the humans were careful to guard against it, the fae had still collected so many fragments without realizing it.
The pool of blood looked like it was boiling, bubbling up more and more.
Immediately after that, a dense special substance centered on the blood pool and spread around, and the powerful energy seemed to bring the air to a boil.
The dullard’s face changed.
The energy in his body was churning, and his special ability, which had originally reached a critical point, seemed to have a tendency to impact to the next level up.
But the bad thing was-
The energy was ferocious, and the alien energy was uncontrolled and stupid, as if it was about to explode all over the next moment, manifesting on top of his body.
Nerd suppressed it to death.
Looking at the side, the fae were all enjoying themselves, their powers were all floating on the surface of their bodies, for example, the woman in position 1, she received a greater rush of energy, her figure flickered, as if she was going to disappear.
Her ability had evolved to the point where she could be completely invisible.
Prisoner is also the same, his ability seems to be “trapped”, so the strange pattern under his feet flickering, as if framing him ……
Oops!
The nerd can’t help it.
The priest frowned, but did not look at the dull melon, but looked at the blood pool, murmured: “The blood seems to be a little less ……”
Dull Melon hurriedly said, “I’ll go grab two people in?”
The priest was slightly stunned and looked at him.
No wonder he was called Dull Melon, no wonder the woman said he was stupid.
This kind of critical time …… he is even willing to give up to improve himself and go out to catch people?
He can occupy the number four position, such a good opportunity to improve.
Didn t see that none of the other fae squeaked?
The priest only froze for a split second before nodding, “You go.”
He released a hood.
The teenager dug in and hurriedly ran away.
The priest thought he was in a hurry to come back and didn’t think much of it, continuing to look at the pool of blood, his eyes flickering as the massive energy churned around him, boosting the fae’s strength.
Little did he know-
The teenager turned into …… a familiar little golden man after running out of the range of vision!
He grimaced and let out a low curse, “F*ck, what the hell are these fae up to? God damn it!”
It also looked oddly creepy and furtive.
Fortunately, they noticed in advance and lurked in to check it out, otherwise, they really didn’t know that the fire was hiding such a secret inside ……
The teenager pursed his lips and looked grave.
In less than ten minutes, the teenager returned.
The priest was slightly stunned.
So fast?
Is it that they didn’t catch anyone?
He looked up, but saw the teenager carrying a person in each hand, running out from inside the fire, panting.
He raised a smile, naive and silly, “I caught two!”
It was the tone of praise.
Before the priest could say anything, the prisoner said, “Quickly put blood in, if the blood is low, it might affect the effect, I’m about to ascend, sooner or later – one day – I’ll never be afraid of those humans again.”
He revealed a smile, bloodthirsty to the extreme.
Sheng An and the others knew a long time ago that Fae abilities needed human blood, in fact, they might not necessarily need to eat or drink, as long as they killed someone, the blood would satisfy them, so most Fae were extremely brutal, and the people they killed were even more bloody and cruel.
At this moment, the blood pool is in front of them, the blood among the things they need, then it seems to be able to satisfy them.
Nerd nodded his head nervously and placed the two on the ground.
His voice was dull, “Okay, I’ll kill them now.”
The man and woman, still conscious, were placed on the ground at this point, and did not scream or resist, standing quietly, slowly raising their heads to look at the pool of blood, and the fae beside it.
They were quiet to the point of excess.
So much so that the fae all looked at them curiously.
With that-
The man and woman remained calm, but the fae were slightly stunned.
The priest also froze in place, looking at the woman’s face, then the man’s, and finally settling on the woman’s face.
What two overly familiar faces.
Unbelievably, his hoarse voice drew up and became shrill and piercing-
“Is this the man you captured?!”
This is the head of their biggest enemy “captured” in!
