A+ A- Turn Off Light

There is such a thing as a man who can’t afford to be provoked. The first time he’ll make you cry, the second time he’ll make you bleed, and the third time he’ll just take your life.

She was so downtrodden that she happened to be in the golden house of such a man.

Ya Xiao stood in the living room with her luggage expressionlessly, coldly watching him take off his jacket and fling it aside, turning to the refrigerator to clatter and rummage for a while before he came to her with a small bag of ice, reaching out and handing it over, “Take it.”

Give a bag of ice for a slap in the face, what was this?

Does it show he still has some humanity?

A wave of anger churned in her heart, and without thinking, she waved her hand and sent the bag of ice flying. The hard ice cubes dispersed from the small towel and pinged on the floor.

Unsurprisingly, he narrowed his eyes. For a moment, she thought he was going to get angry again. But surprisingly the violence didn’t go as planned – he turned around and went to the fridge to get some more ice wrapped in a small towel and brought it over. This time he didn’t bother talking to her, he just reached out with his hand and pinched the back of her neck like a chicken and lifted her over.

Cold ice cubes pressed against her red and swollen face through the towel, there was a kind of numbing pain and itch that could not be described. She couldn’t help but shake her head to avoid it, but his hand was firmly fixed on the back of her head like a vice. She had no choice but to force her head half-angled, and the swelling and pain coming from her face made her stomp her feet and suck in cold air.

“Don’t live with yourself.” His voice was soft, “If you don’t take care of it, it’ll swell up into a pig’s head tomorrow.”

How dare he taunt her and not think about who did this? She gritted her teeth and glared at him, not a trace of guilt on his face. She spat hard in her mind and turned her head away in indignation.

He moved slowly and patiently, gently rubbing the towel against her face. The ice in the towel slowly melted into water from the body heat, seeping out of the towel and sticking to her cheeks. If you looked up close, you could see fine droplets of water sticking to the top of the tiny fluffy hairs, like a freshly washed peach.

The cold touch on her cheeks brought down her body temperature but couldn’t calm her brain and the questioning came out, “I didn’t realize you even hit women.”

“Women have no privileges with me,” he paused, “except for brothers.”

The only way to not get beat up is to be his brother, and what a creation that must be to be his brother, yo! She purred and spat inwardly, her cheeks having been iced until they were so numb she couldn’t feel them.

“Lesson learned,” he said as he shook the half-melted ice into the sink and covered her cheeks with the cool towel, “don’t do it again.”

He didn’t stay the night that day, he just settled her in and left. Before he left, he unceremoniously confiscated her cell phone, cut off the internet and phone, and completely confined and isolated her. It was a good thing that the house was fully equipped and had plenty of food. Otherwise, with the instruction he gave her before he left that she was not allowed to step out of the house, by the time the man remembered to come back, she would have starved to death.

He had left without a word, and likewise, he had returned without a word.

One night after she had been living alone for the better part of a month, she couldn’t help but wake up with a laugh when she was dreaming of that bitchy man being slammed half a meter into the ground by a refrigerator that fell out of the sky. His face suddenly appeared in her eyes, and she reacted so quickly that she opened her mouth and bit her fist to stifle her scream.

He unscrewed the light, half leaning on the bedside, looking at her with a smile on his face. His body exuded a scent of grass, and vaguely the fishy rusty smell that only came from wet mud. These two scents intertwined together, causing her to shiver, her voice shaking uncharacteristically, “You, you’re back?”

He hmmmed, crouching down to press against her, gently rubbing the tip of his nose against her cheek.

If she hadn’t had those horrible memories from before, she would have almost looped her arms around him to throw her arms around his shoulders – the way he looked now was extremely lingering and fond, where was he half as vicious as he was? The situation was so bizarre, it was like a viper reaching out to kiss and lick a frog.

At the time when her thoughts were confused, his hand stroked and pulled the hair by her ear, his voice softly said, “Did you dream just now?”

Stunned, she nodded her head blankly.

“Dreamed what?”

She recalled the dream and broke out in a sweat, trying to keep herself egg-butt between flashes of her eyes, “Uh, nothing.”

His eyes settled on her collarbone, the corner of his mouth quirking up slightly, “Dreaming about me?”

==, count on that being half right.

Seeing her nodding acknowledgement, he seemed to be in a good mood, his hands folded over her heart, his palms enveloping her softness, his chin pivoting on it, “Was it a dream that I died a horrible death?”

Full center!

“Don’t look at me like that, if you can laugh while dreaming about marrying me then I’m going to have to send you to the mental hospital right now.”

She almost blurted out, “The hell with marrying your asshole who deserves to have his head blown off by a three-door refrigerator.”

He let out a giggle and reached for his already loose tie while looking at her askance, “So it’s a three-door refrigerator.”

She bit her lip and buried herself under the covers without a word. Hearing a sound of clothing rubbing outside, her face reddened as she was smothered under the covers.

I think the jacket was already off, and when it was off, she took off her shirt, and when it was off, she unbuckled her belt, and when she unbuckled her belt, she …… tugged tightly at the covers to ball herself up. Although she had known from the first day she moved here that she was going to encounter this sort of thing as soon as possible, it was only when it came to it that she realized she hadn’t mentally built herself up for it at all.

When he pulled back the covers and slid in, she sat up in a roll, clutching them tightly to her chest.

He seemed to have expected her reaction and wasn’t terribly surprised, merely propping his head up on one elbow to look at her with a slightly disgruntled expression.

She gulped and tried to sound reasonable, “You, you haven’t showered.”

“A bath?”

“You have to at least take a shower when you get back from being out before you go to bed.” She tried to stall for time, expecting to slip off to the kitchen to carry the ten-piece knife set and have it ready for herself while he went to take a shower, “It’s basic common sense hygiene.”

He crossed his arms behind his head and turned his head sideways to look at her with half-smiled eyes, mockery clearly written in the bottom of his eyes.

She felt a pang of weakness, “At least, at least go wash your face or something.”

He glanced at her and snorted, hooking the covers with her in his free hand and wrapping them around him. “No need!” His voice took on more than a hint of impatience as his broad palms probed inside her shirt, gently rubbing along the delicate curve of her waist, and his lips nibbled and chewed on the shell of her ear, his voice becoming slurred, “Don’t move.”

Tell her not to move unless she was dead!

Her fingers clenched the quilt so deathly tight she just about wrung the juice out of it. His hands roamed over her body, following the muscular grain of her skin, advancing without a hitch. The thin calluses of his fingertips touched the delicate skin, burning as if they were going to be burned. His lips slid down along the shell of her ear, buried in the hair of her neck, spit na breath actually have a trace of a few inaudible trembling sound.

For a moment, she felt that she was a skewered and barbecued swordfish, being grilled to death by his open and dark fire, wildfire and ghost fire.

Fortunately, the torment that had nearly left her disarmed did not last long, for soon she heard faint snoring from behind her. His breath was evenly distributed on the back of her neck, and her nerves, which had been tense for a long time, slowly relaxed, and the cold sweat at the corners of her forehead gathered into a ball, slowly slipping into the roots of her hair, a piece of coldness …….

After that night, the two of them seemed to have reached some kind of tacit understanding in the invisible. He only came at night, and the purpose of coming was only to embrace her to sleep, and then no other action.

At first she always thought that he was pretending to be a wolf, waiting for her to sleep and then slowly dissected into the belly, but the fact proved that he really just sleep, did not want to do something else, so it seems that she is too careful and anxious to make something out of nothing.

Habit was a terrible thing, I must say. It had only been a few months, but she had slowly familiarized herself with his scent and body temperature, gradually getting used to falling asleep in his arms. Sometimes when she thought about it, she felt that she was like the dog that Pavlov had modeled his conditioned reflexes on, so cheap and cheap!

But now that this man said he was coming back for a long stay, that meant she had to get ready to spend time with him and start living together in the true sense of the word.
