“Ring, ring, ring…”

This was the first class bell of the new semester on September 1st. As soon as the teacher left, Wei Zengmali ran over to Tao Yueyue’s desk, excitedly saying, “Yueyue, you’re amazing! You got first place in the grade last semester. You owe us a treat!”

Tao Yueyue was packing her notes and pulled out a textbook. “It’s nothing, just first in the grade.”

“Just first in the grade!?” Wei Zengmali exaggeratedly repeated, “You’re so calm. You transferred here just one semester ago and already got first place. You have no idea how many people are jealous. Look at Li Yantong…” She glanced at a group of girls chatting together. The class monitor, Li Yantong, suddenly stopped smiling and shot a cold look over before resuming her conversation with her friends.

Wei Zengmali whispered to Tao Yueyue, “Didn’t you notice the way Li Yantong looks at you? She’s definitely jealous.”

“Follow me.”

Tao Yueyue stood up, and a bewildered Wei Zengmali followed her as she walked straight over to Li Yantong. Li Yantong paused, an expression of hostility flashing across her face. Her friends also turned to look at Tao Yueyue, their gazes like wolves eyeing an intruder.

“Explain this,” Tao Yueyue said coldly, staring up at Li Yantong. Tao Yueyue was ten centimeters shorter, looking like a lower-grade student confronting an upperclassman.

“Explain what?” Li Yantong smiled, placing a finger on her chin.

Tao Yueyue opened a new book she had just received. Many pages were covered in shoe prints and were tattered. “Why is my new book like this? You’re the class monitor; I demand a replacement.”

“Why should I?” Li Yantong said arrogantly. “You messed it up, so you fix it. If you pay for another set of books, I might tell the teacher.”

“Are you saying I messed it up?”

Li Yantong tilted her head, scrutinizing her. Her friends snickered nearby. “Do you think it was me? Do you have proof?”

“Of course I do.”

Li Yantong was taken aback and frowned. “Show me.”

Tao Yueyue raised her phone, showing a photo of a shoe print. “I took this today. It matches the prints on my book exactly. The shoes are on your feet right now. Still denying it?”

Li Yantong’s eyes widened, but she remained defiant. “Go ahead, tell the teacher. Think I’m scared? You got first place, so what? I’m the class monitor!”

“So, you admit it?” Tao Yueyue stared into her eyes.

Li Yantong’s face flushed red. Thankfully, the bell rang for the next class. Tao Yueyue gave her a threatening look before returning to her seat. A friend texted Li Yantong, “You were careless. What if she tells the teacher?”

Li Yantong replied dismissively, “That loner won’t tell the teacher. I made sure she knows I don’t like her. So what?”

At the same time, Tao Yueyue received a text from Wei Zengmali, “Li Yantong is too much! How can a class monitor do this? Should we report her to the teacher?”

Tao Yueyue replied, “No.”

Wei Zengmali urged, “She has a lot of influence in class. Don’t just take it. Otherwise, you’ll end up like XX, getting bullied every day.”

The teacher walked in, and everyone stood to greet her. After sitting down, Tao Yueyue calmly opened her textbook, as if nothing had happened, but she was already plotting her revenge.

It was the perfect time to test the skills she had learned recently! She smirked coldly.

After school, Li Yantong left with her friends. At the bus stop, she waved goodbye and boarded a bus. She habitually reached into her pocket for her phone to check her social media, but something felt off.

Her phone was gone!

And the thief was skilled enough to remove the phone case, filling it with paper cut to the phone’s size so she wouldn’t notice the weight difference.

In shock, she pulled out the paper, finding a note at the bottom: “Your phone is in the classroom. Come get it.”

“Bastard!”

Her first thought was that someone was playing a prank. She got off at the next stop and hurried back to school.

By then, the school was almost empty. The janitor had finished cleaning, and the classrooms were locked, except for hers. She found her phone in her desk drawer, but it was dead.

The door slammed shut. Li Yantong ran to it, shouting, “Who’s there? Open the door! This isn’t funny!”

“Knock, knock.”

Someone tapped on the window. She saw Tao Yueyue standing there with a cold smile. Li Yantong’s face twisted in anger, “Tao Yueyue, it’s you! You…”

Tao Yueyue remained unfazed. “Save your breath. The teachers are gone. No one will hear you. Tomorrow, tell them you came back for your phone, and the wind blew the door shut.”

“I’ll tell the class teacher!”

“Go ahead. But if you say one word, I’ll share all the ‘interesting’ things on your phone with everyone. Let’s see how they feel about your mom being a mistress.”

“You…” Li Yantong couldn’t believe the malice. She had only played a prank, but Tao Yueyue’s revenge was far worse.

Tao Yueyue picked up a bottle of water. “Apologize, and I’ll give you this water.”

“Never!”

“Sure?”

Li Yantong’s lips quivered, but she stood firm. “Don’t even think about it!”

“Goodbye then.” Tao Yueyue waved and left, avoiding the main entrance where there were cameras, and slipped out through an inconspicuous spot.

Li Yantong called for help for a while, but as darkness fell, she began to cry.

The next day, her ordeal was the talk of the class. When asked, she said she had returned for her phone and the wind blew the door shut.

But there was now a hint of fear in her eyes when she looked at Tao Yueyue.

Wei Zengmali excitedly told Tao Yueyue, “Haha, serves her right. She’s always bullying others.”

“Yes, evil deeds never go unpunished.”

Tao Yueyue smiled slightly as the bell rang and everyone returned to their seats. Today, a new physics teacher was supposed to arrive, and many students were curious.

Tao Yueyue, however, didn’t care and continued working on some exercises. The teacher walked in, a middle-aged man with a warm smile. He bowed and said, “Hello, everyone. I’m Zhou Tiannan, your new physics teacher. You can call me Mr. Zhou.”

“Hello, Mr. Zhou!” the class responded in unison.

Hearing this name, Tao Yueyue’s hand trembled, breaking her pen. She looked up to see Zhou Tiannan smiling at her…
