The person Tao Yueyue and Xu Xiaodong were assigned to investigate was named Hao Yunlai. He had been unemployed for three years and was over forty, single and jobless.

“Searching the place!”

Meanwhile, Tao Yueyue registered an account on the matchmaking site using Xu Xiaodong’s phone, filling in fake details.

When everything was ready, Tao Yueyue called the website’s customer service and handed the phone to Xu Xiaodong. “You talk to them.”

Xu Xiaodong nervously took the phone and said in a pinched voice, “Hello.”

“Hello, this is XX Matchmaking. How can I help you?”

“I saw a Mr. Hao Yunlai on your site. I’m interested in meeting him.” Xu Xiaodong said in his fake voice, and Tao Yueyue gave him a thumbs up.
