A+ A- Turn Off Light

Time passed, and night enveloped the house of horrors.

In the latter half of the night, a strange sound suddenly appeared in the quiet haunted house, as if someone was sawing something.

Inside the staff lounge, Chen Ge slowly opened his eyes as he looked at his cell phone – it was now 1:10 am.

He rolled over and pressed a pillow against his head, but the strange sound kept drilling into the middle of his ears.

”I’m not dreaming? What keeps ringing?”

Every prop in this haunted house was handmade or remodeled by Chen Ge, and he knew in his heart that none of the props would make this sound similar to sawing wood.

After sleeping for six or seven hours, his head was still a bit unconscious, Chen Ge pinched his thighs vigorously, put on his clothes and pants, and took out a hammer from the toolbox and held it in his hand.

He turned on the flashlight and pushed open the door to the rest room.

A haunted house late at night was many times scarier than during the day, Chen Ge leaned against the doorway and didn’t rush out.

”It can’t be a thief, only a brain-dead person would come to a haunted house in the middle of the night to steal something; it can’t be rats, the sound of them gnawing on wood is very light and thin, not this clear.” After eliminating the two options that any normal person could think of, Chen Ge began to think in an abnormal direction, “Could it be that the monster in the mirror ran out?”

Because there wasn’t enough fabric, Chen Ge didn’t cover all of the mirrors in the midnight escape scene on the third floor.

He stared at the dark corridor, took a few steps back, and placed the ragdoll that his parents had left behind close to him before he dared to walk out of the room.

The sound was coming from overhead, and Chen Ge kept going up the stairs, finally stopping outside the door of the Midnight Escape Scene.

”It’s really coming from here, it’s just that now it’s unclear if it’s coming from the residual souls of the victims of the Peaceful Apartment, or from the dirty things in the mirror.” Stopping at the door, Chen Ge was slightly hesitant, frankly speaking even he was not willing to enter the middle of a horror scene at night.

Tortured by the cutting sounds in the room, Chen Ge gripped the handle of his hammer tightly, “I myself have the title of Knightly Ghost Favored One, and I’ve gained the goodwill of the victims of the Peaceful Apartment, so even if I encountered the dirty thing in the mirror in the middle of the Midnight Escape Scene, it shouldn’t be able to do anything to me.”

He thought of the scene when the monster in the mirror fainted Heshan, just because Xu Wan suddenly appeared, causing it to fail, thus showing that the monster wasn’t actually too powerful.

”Let’s go in and take a look, anyway, the monster in the mirror and I are already in an immortal situation, the more I know about it, the more certain I am to deal with it.” Chen Ge was very calm, and he knew in his heart that what he was afraid of wasn’t actually the monster itself, but the feeling of facing the unknown.

Opening the door to the Midnight Escape scene, a faint musty odor wafted through the scene, this place was becoming more and more similar to the Peaceful Apartment.

The doors of the rooms on both sides of the corridor were half-open and half-closed, Chen Ge raised his cell phone and entered them with his other hand grasping the hammer.

The sound of cutting slowly became louder, and Chen Ge knew he was getting closer to the truth step by step.

He walked throughout the entire third floor and finally stopped outside a room door, he was already sure that the eerie sound was coming from inside this room.

The door to the room was not closed tightly, so Chen Ge reached out and grabbed the lock, and the cold sensation instantly sobered him up.

His leg muscles tensed and he violently pushed the room door open.

  ”Who’s in there!”

Chen Ge rushed into the room with his hammer raised, just in time to see a lanky black figure half-squatting in the bathroom, looking at the silhouette that was extremely similar to He Feng!

That black figure didn’t expect someone to come in, dropped what he was holding, turned around and jumped into the mirror in a flash and disappeared.

”Stop!” Chen Ge shouted and swung the hammer, but it hit nothing.

The bathroom was empty, as if everything that had just happened was an illusion.

”That figure was never He Feng! But why would it be exactly the same height and size as He Feng?” Standing in front of the mirror, Chen Ge looked at himself in the mirror and had a vague feeling of awkwardness, “This monster is imitating He Feng? What is its real purpose in doing so?”

The appearance of the black shadow brought about many questions, but it also revealed two pieces of information to Chen Ge.

First, the monster in the mirror was able to leave the mirror and move around; second, it was able to become like the person who had looked in the mirror.

”This guy is going to be more dangerous than I thought.”

The cutting sounds that echoed in the haunted house finally stopped, and Chen Ge crouched his body down to look at the items that had just been casually thrown away by the black shadow.

On the rough concrete floor, there were four crooked muppets thrown away, as well as a few sharp pieces of mirror.

He held the ragdolls in his palm and examined them, the ragdolls that represented his mother, elder sister, and younger sister were only covered in dust and dirt on their surfaces, and there was no major problem.

Only the ragdoll that symbolized his father had his neck cut in half and multiple scratches on his body, and was severely damaged.

”Why was only the father injured?” Chen Ge quickly thought of a reason, the ragdoll that represented the father had helped He Feng get out of the trap and spoiled the plans of the monster in the mirror, which was why the monster retaliated against him.

”The remnants of the four victims couldn’t stop the monster in the mirror and could only allow the other party to bully them, that’s a bit of a difference in strength.” Chen Ge didn’t know anything about the power of that world, so he could only speculate according to the limited information, “The victim remnants don’t have any means of attack other than scaring people. The monster in the mirror is one level higher than the victim remnant, but it runs away when it sees people, so judging from this, the monster itself is weak in combat, and its main means of attack should be on the spiritual level, such as utilizing people’s deepest brokenness to make people go into a trance and create hallucinations, thus losing themselves.”

Combining the encounter between Heshan and He Feng, and the scene that just happened, Chen Ge came up with his own deduction.

The monster in the mirror was very difficult to deal with, but it would not be able to utilize its abilities in a frontal confrontation, so as long as he found a way to lure it out of the mirror, everything would be fine.

”I’m going to plan it out and try to get rid of it tonight so that the Midnight Escape Scene can be put to use tomorrow.” Chen Ge’s gaze was calm, the monster in the mirror was getting more and more unruly, without getting rid of it, Chen Ge couldn’t sleep or eat.

Carrying the four ragdolls and leaving the Midnight Escape Scene, after locking the door, Chen Ge entered the tool room.

He took out a needle and thread to sew up the wounds on the ragdolls while thinking about countermeasures.

”That monster is extremely aggressive, and it seems to be very interested in living people, if I want to lure it out of the mirror, the easiest way is to use a living person as bait.” Chen Ge’s hands were very skillful, and in a few minutes’ time, he had already stitched up most of the wound.

”But the crux of the matter is, after I lure it out of the mirror, how am I going to kill it? I’ve heard that ghosts and monsters are afraid of salt and garlic, but if we really fight, would it be a bit too childish for me to throw these things at it?” After Chen Ge seriously thought about it, he decided that it would be better to log on to the psychic forums for advice.
