Chapter 0054 – Art Student Activity Center
With his eyes dead set on the chair in the middle of the corridor, Chen Ge stood sideways and gripped the tool hammer tightly.
He waited for more than ten seconds, and the chair in the corridor still didn’t move at all.
”Could it be because I’m watching?” Chen Ge took a few steps forward, turned on his phone’s video recording function, and placed it on the chain outside the glass door.
After doing so, he retreated to the middle of the wasteland outside the apartment building and waited quietly.
The campus at midnight was so uncomfortably quiet that even the chirping of insects and birds could not be heard.
About three minutes later, Chen Ge approached the apartment building, and he was already prepared for the most terrifying outcome. However, when he re-stood at the door of the dormitory building he saw that the chair remained in its original position, one meter away from the porch light on the roof.
”It didn’t move? What’s going on?” Chen Ge stood next to the glass door and took down the cell phone that was set up on it, he watched the video once and didn’t find anything unusual, the chair just stayed honestly in the center of the corridor.
”Could it be that it only moves when it sees people?” The idea just surfaced in his mind, Chen Ge felt something bad, he turned his head to look at the girls’ apartment corridor, the chair did not know when it moved forward two meters again, at this time it was already very close to the glass door!
”Moving forward again? What the hell is the meaning of this thing? It moved closer as soon as I came over, is this trying to express something to me?” It would be a lie to say that he wasn’t scared, it was just that Chen Ge’s tolerance for fear was much stronger than the average person’s, so he was still able to keep a clear head under these circumstances.
”This school, it’s a bit of a big problem, don’t mess with these things for the time being until you understand it clearly.” Chen Ge actually wanted to smash the glass with a hammer and drag that chair out and dismantle it, but considering that there were too many dead ends in the apartment building, he was worried that he would encounter something else after going in, so he wouldn’t fail to drag the chair out and get dragged in himself instead.
”Tonight’s key task is to find the Red Dancing Shoes, these strange things, as long as they don’t affect me, there’s no need for me to fight them hard.” Chen Ge retreated with his cell phone, “After I finish investigating the other places, I’ll come back if I don’t find the dancing shoes. Anyway, I only need to find it before dawn to consider the mission a success, and there’s still plenty of time.”
Chen Ge made a mental note of the location of the girls’ dormitory gate, then returned the same way, he turned off the bright light of his cell phone and squatted near the main entrance of the school with a hammer in hand.
”Counting the time, the cab that followed me should have arrived, but why is the road outside still dark?” In absolute darkness, headlights were very conspicuous, but Chen Ge waited for a long time and didn’t see any bright light approaching from outside the school, “It can’t be that there’s been an accident, right?”
He had been keeping this matter in his mind, in his opinion it was impossible for something so coincidental to occur in the world, this guy who was following behind himself to come to the Xicheng private school as well, must have some plans.
”It’s possible that the other party guessed that I would be ambushed on the side of the road, so they got out of the car early and came over slowly on foot, if that’s the case, it’s going to be tricky.” He would rather have guessed wrong, and would rather be the one fighting the air, than messing with a truly difficult opponent.
”It seems like I need to speed up, I have two advantages now, arriving early allows me to familiarize myself with the environment; the second is Zhang Ya’s presence, this old sister can’t watch me get bullied on her turf, can she?”
Chen Ge’s eyes had already adapted to the darkness, and perhaps because of his Yin pupils, he wasn’t seeing things so blurry in the dark.
”The light will reveal itself, and whoever is in the clear now is the prey.” He didn’t turn on his cell phone and directly walked towards another building with his tool hammer.
The tallest building of the West City Private Academy was the teaching building, with a total of five floors, behind the teaching building was a playground full of barren grass, and at the other end of the playground, there was another lone building.
The wall skin was a light red color, and because of the playground’s barrier, the building looked otherworldly.
”The teaching building is where classes are held, the dancing shoes shouldn’t be there, and the boys’ apartments are even more unlikely, so let’s go to the building with the red outer skin first and take a look.”
Chen Ge stuck to the playground track and circled around to the door of that building.
There were four floors in total that were as tall as the girls’ apartment, but the footprint was only two-thirds of the apartment building.
Just as soon as he got close, Chen Ge realized that this building was unusual, a wooden board was placed right in the middle of the main entrance, on which four words were very strikingly painted in red paint – No Entry!
”What is this building for?” People have curiosity, and the more the school authorities strictly prohibited entry, the more curious Chen Ge became, “Something must have happened in this building a few years ago, maybe the red dancing shoes I’m looking for are inside.”
Chen Ge avoided the wooden boards and came to the door, which had two locks purposely added on top of it.
”The front door can’t be opened, if I use a hammer to smash it, the movement will be too loud, in case the guy following me is attracted to it, it won’t be a good idea.” Chen Ge didn’t touch the wooden door and walked to the other side of the building, where there was a window that was badly broken, with a large chunk of the glass on it shattered.
”Let’s go in through here.” Chen Ge put his hand inside the window and opened the security lock, just to be on the safe side, he waited outside for a few minutes to make sure no one was there before jumping in.
Reclosing the window and arranging it the same as before, Chen Ge didn’t dare to relax as he carefully surveyed his surroundings.
This was a drawing room, with students’ works posted on the walls and plaster casts on the cabinets.
”It looks pretty scary, but it’s not even close to my haunted house.” Chen Ge walked through the middle of the two rows of plaster models and walked to the back door of the drawing room.
He looked out along the glass window on the door, and the words Art Specialist Activity Center were posted on the corridor.
”Looks like I didn’t find the wrong place.” Chen Ge gently pushed the door of the drawing room open, probably because it hadn’t been used for a long time, the wooden door turned to emit a piercing creaking sound, which made one’s heart skip a beat.
”Calm down, find the shoes and hurry.” Because the light wouldn’t travel too far after entering a relatively airtight building, he turned on his cell phone again.
The weak light couldn’t bring peace of mind, and in this kind of environment, it was actually more frightening to turn on a flashlight.
Chen Ge looked at the rooms on the first floor one by one, all of them were drawing rooms, and some of them were stacked with easels and some student works that hadn’t been removed yet.
”There are four floors in the Art Specialty Student Activity Center, the dance classroom I want to find should be on the other floors.”
Chen Ge took his cell phone and tool hammer and walked up the stairs, and when he arrived at the second floor, his heart suddenly started to beat faster, and goosebumps sprang up on his arms.
Following his gaze, in the middle of the corridor on the second floor, there was also a wooden chair.
”How did we come across this thing again?”
Chen Ge gripped the tool hammer, and the muscles of his entire body slowly tensed.
