Chapter 0252 The person sitting in the back of your car is not a human being
When the passenger got on the car it was exactly twelve midnight, he was sitting in the back holding a black package, wearing a sweatshirt hat and hanging his head low, the shirt inside seemed to have darkened a little.
Lao Zhang forced himself not to look into the rearview mirror, but he just couldn’t help it, his eyes unconsciously glanced over.
”Why do I feel like I’ve changed after getting in the car again.”
Old Zhang whispered, and in passing, he tapped the one-key alarm page on his cell phone.
”Still going to Locust Lane?”
”En.”
”Does your family live there? There are some old people left in Jiujiang’s ancient alleys, and it’s quite rare to see one in your age group.”
”My family is not there.” The passenger’s tone was strange, each sentence was short and somewhat somber.
”Listening to your accent you’re a Jiujiang local, huh? It’s not peaceful at night lately, don’t run around.” Old Zhang really didn’t want to run to that ghost alley anymore, he was worried about meeting the last passenger again when he got there, “Where is your home? How about I send you home directly?”
”My home?” The passenger looked down at the black package on his lap and didn’t say anything.
When Lao Zhang saw that the passenger did not open his mouth, he was too embarrassed to continue to pursue the question, turned the car around and prepared to drive towards the city.
After the cab started, the atmosphere inside the car became even more depressing.
Sitting in the same car with the passengers in the back row, Lao Zhang had a feeling of not being able to breathe, and he opened the closed window again.
The night breeze blew into the car, and only then did Old Zhang feel a little more comfortable as he looked up at the tourists in the rearview mirror.
No matter how bumpy the vehicle was, the passenger’s upper body remained in the same position.
The man seemed to be in a hurry because he had gone out to fetch something, the shirt inside was too late to change, wrinkled, and the top button was not fastened, so that a circle of strangulation marks could be vaguely seen.
”He suffered violence before he got in the car? That’s not right! Why does it look like it was left from a hanging?”
The driver was even more nervous, half of his attention was on the passenger, he was afraid that if he didn’t pay attention, something would change behind him.
Pupils throbbing, old Zhang’s heart beating fast, he was worried that he would be discovered if he kept peeking, and he was afraid that the passenger behind him would do something crazy.
The car speed up, the middle of nowhere, the best thing he can think of is to drive faster, wait until the crowded place will be fine.
The windows were all open, the wind was blowing into the car, Lao Zhang had been paying attention to the back.
The passenger sitting in the back row remained motionless, only the black cloth package he placed on his lap was blown open at one corner, a small piece of cloth slipped downward, revealing the true nature of the package.
Blood rushed into his brain, and Old Zhang’s heart beat even more violently.
The urn!
The thing that man came to the crematorium to pick up at night was actually an urn!
Arms shuddered involuntarily, pinkies seemed to shrink inward like spasms, and a chilling sensation slowly crept upward along the spine.
The black cloth slipped off and the passenger didn’t seem to notice.
The cab ran fast, and the other side of the black cloth was blown off by the night wind.
This time Lao Zhang saw more clearly, wrapped in the black cloth was a black urn, and there was a photo in the center of the box.
The driver uncle slowed down slightly and focused his attention towards the rearview mirror, his eyes staring at the photo on the urn in the rearview mirror.
It wasn’t very clear, but the jaw and mouth shape seemed to bear some resemblance to this passenger who was sitting in the car.
”He went to the crematorium in the middle of the night and carried out his own urn?”
Old Zhang didn’t dare to continue thinking about it, his body was trembling, controlling the steering wheel with one hand, the other hand fumbling at the side, wanting to secretly call the police.
But just as he touched his cell phone, he habitually glanced towards the rearview mirror, and there was a pair of bloodshot eyes in the middle of the mirror that were also looking at him!
The passenger who had been keeping his head down raised his head at some point, and his face was exactly the same as the face on the urn photo, only with the addition of an abnormal grayish-white color.
Goosebumps surfaced on his neck, and Old Zhang felt cold all over, but fortunately, his years of driving experience allowed him to forcefully control himself, which prevented an accident from occurring.
The cab continued to move forward, driving a few more minutes to enter the city, but Lao Zhang’s situation was getting worse and worse.
The passenger in the backseat kept his eyes glued to the rearview mirror, and every time he looked up, he could see a pair of eyes behind him staring at him.
The night wind had blown the black cloth completely off, and the passenger just sat motionless in the back holding his urn.
”What the hell does he want!”
Not a single car could be seen along the way, Old Zhang’s heart was burning with anxiety, he slowly and surprisingly created an illusion, it seemed that he was running in the opposite direction. This was not the road leading to the city at all, but driving towards an even more desolate place.
”What to do?!”
He quietly reported to the police, and played out a cry for help in the exchange group, but distant water could not quench his thirst, and none of these could bring him the slightest sense of security.
Every time he looked up, Lao Zhang felt that the eyes behind him were a little closer to him.
He gripped the steering wheel tightly, the temperature inside the car seemed to be decreasing, his back was numb, obviously leaning against the back of the seat, but he couldn’t feel a bit of softness.
”Buzz, buzz ……”
The cell phone thrown next to him began to vibrate, someone had called, but Old Zhang didn’t dare to answer it.
”Hello.”
The passenger behind him suddenly made a noise, and Old Zhang was startled, slowing down for a second or two before speaking, “What, what’s wrong?”
”Someone is calling you.”
Being said so by the passenger, Lao Zhang then looked towards the side, the one-click alarm page was gone, replaced by a missed call.
This call hung up soon after it was dialed, it seemed like the person on the other side of the phone also realized that the situation was not right.
”Don’t worry about it, you can’t answer the phone while driving.” Old Zhang laughed dryly.
After saying that, he swept another glance towards the cell phone screen next to him, and a text message happened to be sent over.
”Hurry up and stop the car! Run along the road! The person sitting behind your car is not human!”
This text message stayed on the screen for a few seconds of time, Old Zhang saw it, and so did the passenger sitting in the back.
”These people are so full of shit.”
The driver picked up his phone and placed it next to the steering wheel, and was about to say a few more words when he looked up into the rearview mirror and suddenly realized that the passenger’s face was pressed against the guardrail behind him!
The dead gray face was blocked by the guardrail, and the passenger’s face wore a smile that Old Zhang couldn’t understand.
”There’s no need to deny it, you actually thought of it in your heart.” The sweatshirt cap slipped off, the passenger’s neck twisted a little, and behind his head there was another face.
”Technically, he’s human, but I’m not.”
Lips chattering, the latter words were uttered by the face behind the passenger’s head.
Old Zhang had forgotten what kind of reaction to make, his mind went blank as if he had stepped on the brake and the gas at the same time.
The cab drove a few dozen meters away before stopping, and he shouted and climbed out of the car, running wildly forward.
The door opened and the passenger stepped out as well, his back turned to Old Zhang, the deformed face on the back of his head pulling out an ugly smile.
”You won’t be able to escape, this body has been targeted by a madman, I need to change partners now.”
The passenger’s back was turned towards Old Zhang, and his body seemed to be pulled by an invisible force as he chased after him backwards.
