To prevent being seen by her sleeping husband next to her, Huang Ling’s body shrunk into the thin blanket.
The cold light emanating from the phone’s screen shone on her face as Huang Ling tapped on her address book, her eyes focusing on the one call from tonight.
”Those are the ones my husband called.” Moving her eyes down, Huang Ling dragged the screen at full attention, looking at her phone. But just then, a finger reached in and pressed on her cell phone screen. It seemed to be preparing to dial a certain number.
Looking at that extra finger, Huang Ling winced and sat up from the bed at once!
The phone fell in the center of the bed, and the cold light emanating from the screen reflected on her husband’s face next to her.
His features were familiar, but his expression was somewhat unfamiliar: “Why don’t you go to sleep? Are you hungry?”
”It’s fine.” Huang Ling hugged the blanket and got up to turn on the light, but strangely enough the bedroom light wouldn’t turn on.
Her husband’s body stood straight up from the bed, his voice became more and more odd, as if he hadn’t heard Huang Ling’s words, and he said to himself, “If you’re hungry, go eat, I even made a pot of soup especially for you.”
