Seven dead people appeared in the hospital in a short period of time, each one of them died in a bizarre manner and had nothing obvious in common with each other.

”Dr. Sun asked me to keep an eye on the way they died, but I can’t tell much from the way they died alone, could it be that Dr. Sun is trying to tell me that ghosts really do exist in the world through the stories of these seven people?”

Chen Ge had too little information, he couldn’t get much useful information from Dr. Sun’s story and could only force Dr. Sun’s story into his mind.

Outside the hospital, electricity flashed and thunder roared, and the torrential rain seemed like a hysterical patient, frantically striking the glass windows, bean-sized raindrops smashing down, and the thumping sound was unceasing.

The four of them arrived at the entrance of the fourth ward’s building, and Dr. Sun did not question Chen Ge any further and directly led him towards the upper floors.

After entering the hallway, Chen Ge’s heart began to beat faster, he had a feeling that he couldn’t catch his breath, and his mind began to constantly recall the story that Dr. Sun had just told.

”That doctor who watched the surveillance, once saw a strange person dressed in red appearing in the hallway on the surveillance, that person never came down after going upstairs, tonight is too weird, will a few of us meet her?”

This was reasonably a very scary thing, but after Chen Ge thought about this, he just had his heart beating faster and faster, and his body produced an indescribable emotion.

It was very complicated, and more than fear, it was curiosity and excitement.

”Curiosity killed the cat, I have to calm down before I can do that.”

Going up to the second floor, Chen Ge found a headless cloth doll placed at the corner of the hospital stairs.

The doll was hand-stitched and its body was torn, revealing the black and red stuffing inside.

”How could there be this in the hospital?” Chen Ge was just about to go over when his hospital gown was grabbed, he looked back and realized it was patient number two, “What’s wrong?”

”You’re still so bold after breaking a leg? Don’t run around, stay close to us.” Patient number two’s tone was filled with worry, and one could tell that he was really looking out for Chen Ge.

”En, I’m just going over to take a look.” Chen Ge didn’t know why, his eyesight was very good, even in the darkness, he could still see a lot of things clearly, this was probably caused by a certain type of ophthalmic disease, at least that’s what he thought in his heart.

Coming to the corner, Chen Ge slowly frowned, that rag doll’s body seemed to be filled with animal entrails, it looked a bit disgusting.

”Don’t get too close to it, there used to be a pregnant woman in the hospital who caused the death of her own child because of an obstetrician’s mistake. After that pregnant woman was resuscitated, her mental state went out of whack, she was sent to the third ward and was looking for her own child during her hospitalization.” Dr. Sun stared expressionlessly at the doll on the floor.

”Are you saying that this rag doll was placed here by the pregnant woman?”

”I can’t think of anyone else besides her, in fact, she’s quite pitiful, probably because she suffered too much of a shock, she’s never been willing to admit the fact that her child is dead, always telling people around her that her child is still alive and by her side, and at night she’ll even climb up next to her pillow.” Dr. Sun tugged Chen Ge away from the headless rag doll.

”Is her condition considered delusional?” Chen Ge was also considered to have been sick for a long time.

”Counting, not really.” Dr. Sun turned back and smiled, “That pregnant woman’s situation is very similar to yours, refusing to accept treatment, perhaps she understands in her heart that once she is cured, he may never see her child again.”

”Much like my situation?” Chen Ge was somewhat unable to understand.

”If the price for you to be cured is to forget the story you made up before and forget everyone in the story, would you still be willing to accept the treatment?” Dr. Sun casually said this, but Chen Ge felt that the other party was testing him.

After thinking carefully for a while, Chen Ge didn’t answer, he didn’t want to reveal his true inner thoughts.

”It’s useless for a doctor to try harder for a patient who doesn’t want to be cured from the start. The pregnant woman’s condition was getting worse and worse, and she would often tear up the bed sheets and curtains to make some simple dolls, and then put those dolls on the stairs. She thought that by doing so her baby would come back. I still don’t understand if what she meant by coming back was that the child was attracted to the dolls and came back to find his mother, or that the dead child would burrow into the dolls and come back to be with his mother.”

”Whichever the case, I don’t think we should hate this doll, although it looks horrible, it contains that pregnant woman’s obsession.” Chen Ge stood in front of the rag doll dragging his plastered leg, and his words made both Patient 2 and Dr. Sun a little bit of unresponsive.

”Are you sympathizing with that pregnant woman?” Dr. Sun wanted to be sure.

”It can’t be said to be sympathizing with that pregnant woman, let’s analyze it rationally, is it wrong for that pregnant woman to do that? Even if that child turned into a ghost, is that child at fault?” Chen Ge’s thought process was not quite the same as the doctor’s: “They are both victims, the one who really did it was the one who killed them.”

”You think the doctor caused this tragedy?” Dr. Sun had just finished speaking when the walking corpse-like Dr. Gao frowned slightly.

”It’s not necessarily the doctor’s responsibility, but it’s definitely related to him, with all the things that have happened in this hospital, who can’t guarantee that that doctor wasn’t interfered with by something when he was operating?” Chen Ge looked at the headless rag doll at the corner of the stairs, “There is a head for every grievance, if it has to look for a result, it should be the fault of something in the hospital.”

”Are you reasoning with a ghost?” Patient number two was also unable to understand all of Chen Ge’s behavior.

”It’s not certain if there are ghosts in the world, I’m just speaking my mind.” Chen Ge shifted his gaze, “The hospital cleans during the day, and the fact that this rag doll is now in the hallway means that the pregnant woman is probably still alive. There are other survivors in the hospital now, which is good news for us.”

”That pregnant woman died in the third month of her treatment, and when she died, we found a cabinet full of dolls in her locker.” After Dr. Sun finished speaking, Chen Ge and Patient Two froze.

”The person is gone? Then who put the rag dolls here?” Patient number two still didn’t think there were ghosts in the world: “The one who knows about the pregnant woman’s matter should be a doctor, the murderer was mimicking the pregnant woman’s behavior at that time, could it be that the murderer is some doctor?”

After saying that he looked at Dr. Sun with full of doubts, to be honest he was very suspicious of Dr. Sun.

”Dr. Sun and Dr. Gao were with us when Zhang Jingjiu was injured, even if the murderer is a doctor, we can still exclude them from the suspicion.” Compared to the doctor being the murderer, Chen Ge felt that there was a higher probability of a severe ghost returning to his soul.

In the midst of the argument, several people arrived on the second floor, and the empty corridor was posted with many pictures of doctors, a scene that made Chen Ge feel déjà vu.

”The hospital used to post photos of outstanding doctors in the wards and the honors they had received, Xinhai Central Hospital spent a lot of money to hire many famous doctors in the beginning, and this is also considered a means of publicity.”

”The hospital’s starting point was good, but then a doctor died unexpectedly, and the hospital felt that it was not good to still post the other person’s picture on the wall, so it took his picture down, and as a result, one night a nurse on duty found that the picture that had been taken down had appeared on the wall again.”

”She looked at it carefully for half a day and finally came up with a somewhat horrifying answer; it wasn’t that doctor’s picture that was hanging on the wall, it was that doctor’s face that was hanging there.”

”She reacted this matter to the hospital, and the leaders arranged for the nursing staff to squat and check, but that photo never appeared again.”

”At that time, the hospital was in a state of panic, the leadership gave that nurse a long leave to let her rest at home, just when everyone thought that this matter was over, they did not expect the doctors who posted the photo on the wall one after another to have accidents.”

”Later, the hospital took down the pictures of all the doctors and resolutely refused to hang pictures of living people on the walls.”

Hearing Dr. Sun’s words, Chen Ge was even more puzzled in his heart, “You said that the hospital resolutely doesn’t hang photos on the walls, so what’s the deal with the photos on both sides of this corridor? Did someone specifically hang them up this evening?”

”I said that before.” Dr. Sun pointed to the door of the ward next to him, “After you walk through a door, the inside and the outside are different sides of the same place, you are now in the hospital, but not in the original hospital. By the way, I have to tell you one more thing, the doctor whose picture still appears on the wall after death is the doctor who operated on the pregnant woman before.”

Dr. Sun emphasized this point in particular, and as Chen Ge thought back carefully, he realized that most of the dead in this hospital had had contact with other dead people.

Their deaths weren’t accidental, it was more like an inevitability disguised as an accident.

”Let’s not stay here for too long.” Lightning streaked by, reflecting the ghastly white faces on both sides of this corridor, and Chen Ge even had an illusion, as if what was plastered on the walls were not photos at all.

Several people came to the fourth floor in one breath, and Dr. Sun walked at the front, “I remember that the emergency drug storage room is the seventh room.”

The corridors on the fourth floor seemed to be seldom visited, and most of the doors to the sections here were locked, with the locks still covered in dust.

”After the first dean’s accident, the fourth floor of Ward 4 was basically abandoned, and usually the doctors and nurses would rather take a longer detour than go through this corridor.”

”Is it that scary?” Chen Ge realized that he was somewhat insensitive to fear.

”In the past, there was a cleaner who didn’t believe in evil, and he was cleaning in the evening when there were very few people in the hospital, and he ended up seeing a man on the fourth floor corridor holding something and constantly writing on the walls. He saw that the other person was wearing a white coat and thought that he was a doctor, and when he walked over to him, he realized that what the man was holding was his own severed finger, and he was constantly writing a word of death on the wall.”

”The janitor saw the old dean who had already committed suicide?”

”That’s right.” Dr. Sun’s voice turned grim, “Do you know what the more horrible thing is?”

”The cleaner later died unexpectedly as well?” This was already the more terrifying thing Chen Ge could think of.

”The cleaner quit his job, he then went to a small private hospital in order to make a living, on the seventh day after he went to that hospital, he died in the dean’s office of that private hospital, his death was very similar to that of the old dean, when the police went over there, they found a room full of dead words. It wasn’t long before that private hospital closed down, the people involved in running it disappeared, and the doctors and nurses at that hospital stopped practicing anything related to medicine, I’m told.”

”Why does it sound and feel a bit like some kind of curse to me, the hospital is the curse itself, and all those who have been struck by the curse will keep spreading the bad luck out unless they leave the hospital forever.” Chen Ge himself found it unbelievable, “Using the hospital as a medium for the curse, making a place that saves people turn into a source of calamity, the person who planted this curse is really vicious.”

”A severe ghost? A curse? You have too much receptivity and thought provoking ability.” Patient number two shook his head, he didn’t agree with Chen Ge’s thoughts, in his opinion the source of all the weirdness was people. However, he wasn’t prepared to refute Chen Ge, after all, Chen Ge was a patient.

Holding onto the wall, Chen Ge followed the two doctors into the fourth floor corridor, at first nothing unusual happened, but after walking for more than ten seconds Chen Ge felt that something was not quite right.

This corridor didn’t look much longer and one could see the head at a glance, but they had walked for more than ten seconds and still hadn’t finished.

”So strange.” Chen Ge stopped walking, and the other three looked at Chen Ge inexplicably, as if wondering why he had stopped.

  ”What’s wrong?”

”Didn’t any of you notice?” Chen Ge pointed at the door of a room beside him, “This door with a seal on it has appeared for the second time! It seems like we’ve encountered a ghostly wall.”

It was only when Chen Ge said this that patient number two reacted, “Indeed, I also felt like I had been walking for a long time, and I thought that I was too nervous leading to an illusion.”

”It might be because of this door.” Chen Ge had been very curious about the dean’s office ever since he heard the story of the first dean, and he especially wanted to take a look at what this sealed room with secrets actually looked like.

Before the two doctors could stop him, Chen Ge gently pushed the door of the dean’s office, who knew that the door of the room was not locked.

A pungent stench emanated from the door, the second patient directly covered his mouth and nose, Dr. Sun and Dr. Gao also took a step back, and Chen Ge was the only one standing dumbfounded at the door.

Twitching his nose, Chen Ge took a deep breath, the stench that almost suffocated him stirred the memories in his mind, countless horrifying images flashed through his brain.

”I’ve smelled this odor somewhere else!” He was beyond certain, and his brain couldn’t help but start recalling as that pain struck again.

Grabbing the door frame, Chen Ge gritted his teeth and entered the middle of the dean’s office, his brain felt as if it was being cut apart as he looked at the room full of dead characters.

”I’m familiar with this stench! I’ve smelled this odor on the brink of death! Every time I smell this stench, something bad happens!”

Leaning his back against the doorframe, Chen Ge stiffly held on without collapsing as he desperately opened his eyes and finally identified the source of the stench.

On the table in the center of the dean’s office, there was a glass jar with a heart wrapped in thin black threads.
