Chapter 1878 – Adventure
”Coming back a bit slower than expected.”
Monk Predestination glanced at Lin Qiye and slowly spoke.
Lin Qiye swept his gaze across the temple, the leaves in front of the door were piled up and rotting, they should not have been swept for a long time, the wooden chairs and tables were placed messily all over the courtyard, even the tributes on the offering table inside the temple fell to the ground in bits and pieces.
Lin Qiye’s brows furrowed slightly.
He remembered that the last time he was here, Monk Predestination had cleaned this temple spotlessly, so how did it become like this now?
”What happened?” Lin Qiye paused for a moment, “Could it be that I didn’t allow you to go down the mountain and got in a mood?”
”I don’t have that kind of boredom.”
”Also …… then these?”
”Recently, my attention has been elsewhere, it’s true that this place hasn’t been cleared for a long time ……,” the Fateful Monk’s expression was a bit tired, “Sit down first, talk about business.”
Seeing this, Lin Qiye didn’t pursue the matter and sat down opposite of the Fatal Monk.
”I brought my mother back, along with the goddess of war, Athena and the goddess of hunting, Artemis, on top of that, the Upper Evil Society transferred the entire [Utopia] to Daxia, and Memorial also broke through the divine realm, and is now within Daxia as well.”
The Fateful Monk nodded slightly, casually picking up a few scattered pieces on the ground and landing them on the chessboard.
”Very good, so there are more pieces available …… What about the specific details?”
Lin Qiye spoke about everything he encountered on the road this time, without any details, and the Predestined Monk squinted his eyes and listened extremely attentively.
By the time Lin Qiye finished speaking, the sky was all dimmed, and the Custodial Monk got up and lit a few candles inside the temple, the dim light reflecting on the chessboard in front of the door, the shadows swaying amongst the fallen leaves that filled the courtyard.
”The second holy covenant?……” the Fateful Monk mused for a moment, “Indeed it’s about time.”
Lin Qiye hmmmed, “After this time, the stray fish in the mists are basically cleared, even if the Second Holy Covenant is activated, it won’t cause too much panic …… The secrets that the Night’s Watch has been hiding for hundreds of years should surface a little bit.”
”When do you plan to activate it?”
”Just these two days, but I still need to make some preparations.” Lin Qiye gazed in a certain direction, “Over at the main body, the situation is still a bit tricky.”
”Got a plan?”
”Sort of, although it’s a bit risky.”
”Then do it.”
Lin Qiye raised an eyebrow, “You won’t dissuade me this time? Haven’t you always refused to accept risky things?”
The Fated Monk was silent for a moment.
”Having come this far, any possibility of increasing the chances of winning cannot be missed …… Perhaps, we need to take a risk.”
”Chances of winning?……” Lin Qiye looked like he remembered something, “Although I’ve already asked this once,…… I still want to know, nowadays, humanity’s chances of winning How much?”
After the Lunar War, Lin Qiye had asked this question, but the Custodial Monk hadn’t given an answer, and now that Da Xia’s comprehensive battle power had been pulled to an unprecedented peak by Lin Qiye, he wanted to know what the chances of victory were now.
The Fatal Monk lowered his eyes, as if gazing at the messy chessboard, and didn’t answer.
”If …… don’t want to talk, forget it.” Lin Qiye slowly stood up, “Do your best and listen to heaven’s fate……. Regardless of the odds of winning, I will do what I can to the best of my ability.”
Lin Qiye walked to the path down the mountain and looked back at the cluttered compound.
”I’ll send someone to help you clean it tomorrow.”
Monk Cebu sat in silence and waited until Lin Qiye’s figure completely disappeared, and the candles inside the temple quietly went out, plunging the entire compound into darkness.
After an unknown amount of time, the Sustenance Monk’s sigh rang out:
”The way out, where exactly is it ……”
Due to the arrival of [Utopia], the Vigilante headquarters had become busy, luckily these didn’t need Lin Qiye to personally handle them, the logistics and human resources departments would organize everything.
Lin Qiye went back to his office and sat down, and a few moments later, secretary Min Junliang knocked on the door.
”Commander, the Sinking Dragon Pass found a young girl at the border and said she was looking for you.”
”Maiden? Did it say who it was?”
”She said that her name is Lina Perrin.”
Lin Qiye’s eyes flashed with surprise, but he still nodded: “Pick her up and bring her here.”
Logically, after Lina returned to the [Hidden God], she should have quite a few things to deal with, and even if she couldn’t end up regaining control of the [Hidden God] again, the negotiations would take time before …… she arrived just before she arrived in Daxia, so it was assumed that some changes had occurred on the way.
And the truth is just as Lin Qiye expected, after Lina came to the office, her first words were:
”[Hidden God] has been destroyed.”
Lin Qiye guessed the possibility, “Did the gram system move?”
”Judging from the traces left at the scene, yes.”
Lin Qiye rubbed one hand against his chin and frowned in thought.
In today’s Mist, the only ones capable of taking out the [Hidden Gods] were Da Xia and the Gods of the Gram System, and since he didn’t have someone move, it must have been An Qingyu’s plan……. It seemed like he wasn’t the only one who wanted to clear out the scene ahead of time.
He himself exterminated Olympus and [God’s Desire Heaven], An Qingyu exterminated the [Hidden Gods], this time the Mist is completely empty.
”So what are your plans now?” Lin Qiye didn’t beat around the bush and asked directly.
Lina took a deep breath and slowly said, “The current Mist is no longer safe, besides Daxia, there is no other place that can accommodate me, so I can only come to join you …… I know that I, an outsider, can’t gain all of your trust, and if you are really uneasy, I can also leave. ”
Looking at the serious looking Lina in front of her, Lin Qiye pondered for a moment and
”You can stay …… but let’s be clear beforehand, Da Xia won’t shelter you unconditionally, and when necessary, we need your strength.”
”No problem.” Lina resolutely answered.
Lin Qiye made a call, and a moment later Min Junliang came to the office and brought Lina to arrange for food and lodging.
No matter what, Lina was also a human ceiling level powerhouse, and if she used the Sword in the Stone to summon King Arthur’s silhouette, she could even briefly rival the Supreme, as well as Fenrir, a demonic wolf that could tear apart the main gods, and their joining in was considered the icing on the cake for Daxia.
Lin Qiye got up and walked to the window, looking out the window at the dim sky with a somewhat gloomy expression.
An Qingyu taking the initiative to clear the field was undoubtedly a dangerous signal, and if Lin Qiye hadn’t guessed correctly, it wasn’t too far away from the day of the final showdown with the Ke system gods …… Before that, there was one more thing that had to be accomplished.
Lin Qiye dialed the phone again:
”Help me prepare an airplane, in half an hour …… I’m going to Qilian Mountain.”
