Chapter 2 Angels on the Moon
The room fell into a brief silence.
After a few seconds, Dr. Lee came back to his senses, “A blazing angel?”
”Yeah.”
”What is He doing?”
”Nothing, He’s like a golden statue sitting in the center of a massive lunar crater, looking up at the Earth like He’s on …… watch?”
Dr. Li rubbed the corners of his eyes and spoke somewhat helplessly, “Seven Nights, do you know how far the moon is from Earth?”
”Nearly four hundred thousand kilometers.” Lin Qiye calmly said.
”Nearly four hundred thousand kilometers.” Dr. Li repeated, “Even with the most advanced astronomical telescopes, you can only barely see the surface of the moon, and you saw the angels on the moon with your naked eyes when you were seven years old just lying on the eaves of your old house?”
”It wasn’t me who saw Him.” Lin Qiye spoke quietly, “It was He who saw me, I just raised my head and my eyes felt like they were being dragged by Him through space to meet Him.”
”So, He forced you?”
”Sort of, how else did I see the surface of the moon? It’s not like I have clairvoyance.”
”But if there really is an angel on the moon, why hasn’t it been discovered by mankind for so many years?”
”I don’t know.” Lin Qiye shook his head, “Maybe that blazing angel doesn’t want to be observed, not to mention …… do humans really understand the moon?”
Lin Qiye spoke sincerely, so sincerely that Dr. Li immediately wanted to call a car to drag him back to the mental hospital.
After all, Dr. Li was a doctor who specialized in treating mental illnesses, and he had seen a lot of mental illnesses of all shapes and sizes, and he had summed up a rule in his own medical career that the more serious a bullshitter he was, and the more reasonable he made it sound, the sicker he was.
”What about your eyes? What’s going on?”
Lin Qiye stretched out his hand and gently rubbed the black cloth satin on his eyes, no emotional fluctuations could be heard between his words, “That day, I stared at Him for a split second, and then …… I went blind.”
Dr. Li opened his mouth, looked down at the case in his hand, and fell into silence.
In the column of the cause of blindness, only four words were written.Cause unknown.
So …… what exactly happened back then?
Could it be that he really saw the blazing angel on the moon as Lin Qiye said? How else could he explain the sudden blindness?
This thought only appeared for a split second before it was directly snuffed out by Dr. Li.
So close, almost being led off course by a psychopath!
He could almost imagine how wonderful the doctors’ expressions had been when the young Lin Qiye, who had gone blind ten years ago, had said the words he had just said in front of the crowd of doctors.
It was no wonder that this child was forced to stay in the hospital, no matter how you looked at it, what he said was a statement that only a mentally ill person would make.
This kind of people in the hospital is not a lot, there are claims that he is the reincarnation of Sun Monkey every day in hanging on the bar in a daze, there are think he is a coat rack all night standing in the room not move, there are look at everyone like their own husbands, not move to sneak touch down the butt of others to mooch the ……
Well, the last patient was a greasy forty year old uncle.
”You’re talking about the old days, but what about now? What do you think about this?” Dr. Lee adjusted his emotions and continued the review process.
”It’s all just delusion.” Lin Qiye spoke calmly, “That day, I just accidentally rolled down from the eaves and hit my head on the ground, as for my eyes, it was probably a certain nerve that was damaged, so I lost my sight.”
He didn’t know how many times he had said this paragraph, skillful and calm.
Dr. Li raised his eyebrows and wrote something on the medical record, then chatted with Lin Qiye about daily life, after about twenty minutes, he looked at the time and stood up with a smile.
”Alright, that’s it for the review, there’s nothing wrong with your illness anymore, I hope you can adjust your mindset and live a good life.” Dr. Li shook Lin Qiye’s hand and said encouragingly.
Lin Qiye smiled and nodded slightly.
”Eww, Dr. Li, stay for dinner.” Auntie saw Dr. Li leave and warmly retained him.
”No no no, I still have my next patient to see, so I won’t bother you.”
Dr. Li politely said goodbye to his aunt and then pushed the door to leave.
The moment the door closed, Lin Qiye’s smile disappeared as if it had never existed.
”Delusional ……?” he muttered.
”Brother, dinner!” Cousin Yang Jin shouted as he walked out of the kitchen with dishes.
Yang Jin was his aunt’s son, four years younger than Lin Qiye, just started junior high school, since Lin Qiye’s parents disappeared and stayed at his aunt’s house, the two had grown up together, and their relationship was even closer than that of blood brothers.
”Coming.” Lin Qiye answered.
Lin Qiye had just sat down at the narrow dining table when a sudden wave of warmth came from the palms of his feet, he was first stunned, then the corners of his mouth rose slightly.
Cousin Yang Jin glanced towards the table and cursed with a laugh:
”Good you little black mangy, usually lazy and unmoving, when it comes to the point of eating, come faster than anyone.”
A small black mangy dog poked its head out from under the table, its tongue hanging out of its teeth, huffing and puffing and spreading hot air, coming up next to Lin Qiye and licking his feet again, its face full of curiosity.
Three people, one dog, this is a home.
Simple, difficult, yet inexplicably reassuring.
Ten years of this.
Lin Qiye stroked its head, took a piece of meat from the few pieces on the plate, and put it in cousin Yang Jin’s bowl.
”Nibble a bone for it.”
Yang Jin didn’t refuse, given their brotherly bond, saying more would be a raw deal.
He was concerned about another matter.
”Brother, are your eyes really almost healed?”
Lin Qiye smiled faintly, “Well, I can see now, it’s just that I can’t quite see the light yet, and this black satin needs to be wrapped around for a few more days.”
”What a few days, Xiao Qi ah, aunt told you, eyes this thing is too important, even if you can see now, this black satin don’t rush to take it off, in case …… in case it gets shaken by the sun again, that’s a pity! We’d better be a little more stable and carry it for a while longer!” Aunt hurriedly instructed.
”Understood, Auntie.”
”Right brother, I’ve saved up some money to buy you a pair of racy sunglasses, I’ll bring them to you later!” Yang Jin seemed to have thought of something and said excitedly.
Lin Qiye smiled and shook his head, “Jin, although the sunglasses can block the light, the effect can be far worse than black satin, I can’t wear them yet.”
”Well ……,” Yang Jin was a little disappointed.
”But when my eyes are completely healed, I’ll take it shopping every day, and then I’ll buy a pair for you too, both of us together.”
Hearing these words, Yang Jin’s eyes brightened up again and he heaved a hmmm.
”Right Xiao Qi, the matter of transferring to another school has already been prepared by Auntie, when this semester starts, you’ll be able to transfer from the special school to the regular high school.” Auntie seemed to have thought of something and spoke, “However, have you really thought about it? Regular high school and special school are not the same, in your case, just in case ……”
”There’s no such thing as an eventuality, Auntie.” Lin Qiye interrupted her, “My eyes are already healed, and in order to get into a good university, I have to be on the same starting line as everyone else.”
”You child …… Even if you can’t get into a good university, it’s fine, big deal, auntie will always support you!”
”Brother, I can support you too!”
Lin Qiye’s body trembled slightly, his eyes under the black satin didn’t know what to look like, his lips pursed up and hooked up another smile.
Firmly shaking his head.
No words were spoken, but both Yang Jin and his aunt felt his determination.
Even the little black mange under his feet rubbed against Lin Qiye’s ankle.
”–Woof!”
