Teodor Hospital.

A black Ford sedan pulled into the hospital parking lot.

Jackson and Jenny stepped out of the car.

Jackson looked at the hospital building and laughed, “Will we meet Marcus here?”

Jenny rolled her eyes, “Don’t be silly, his wife is in the maternity hospital, this hospital mainly focuses on trauma.”

Jackson laughed a little awkwardly, “Hey, I was just kidding and you recognized it.”

Jackson asked thoughtfully, “Jenny, have you ever thought about getting married?”

“Yes, how could I not have thought about it, falling in love, getting engaged, getting married, having kids ……

A lot of people think that’s the way life should be.

But only if there’s a right person for it, and I’ve never had much luck in that department.” Jenny frowned and asked rhetorically, “What’s wrong with you today? Suddenly remembered to ask that?”

Jackson shook his head, “I don’t know, maybe it’s Marcus getting married and having a baby that made me a little emotional.”

Jenny nodded, “You’re not the only one, at this point Marcus has impressed me as well.

The old Marcus was a slag, changing girlfriends every few months, female fuck buddies to be exact, I always used to think he was an asshole and never even thought about him getting married.

But from what I’ve seen this time around, he’s not a bad guy by nature, he’s a responsible guy.

Having the courage to take on the burden of a family is not an easy thing to do.”

Jackson nodded, “You’re right, I wouldn’t have the courage.”

Jenny gave a curious look, “Have you talked to your family about that? You know what I mean.”

Jackson deflated a bit, “Honey, can we not talk about this anymore? Even though it’s a free country, talking to your family about this …… isn’t as easy as you think.”

“I know.” Jenny made a motion to seal her mouth, “William Moses Jr. is in ward 309 of the hospital, let’s go straight up.”

“Knock knock ……”

The two found ward 309 and knocked on the door.

“Come in.” A man’s voice rang out from the ward.

The two pushed the door and walked into the ward. The ward was about 200 square feet in size, with a separate bathroom television, two hospital beds placed in the center, and a black man lying on the bed against the inside.

And the outside bed was empty.

The black man pointed at the two Jackson’s, “Hey, who are you looking for? I don’t seem to recognize you guys, are you in the wrong ward?”

Jackson asked, “Is William Moses Jr. in this ward?”

The black man bristled, “Yes, the kid sleeps right next to the bed by the door, he’s not very talkative and didn’t even tell me his name.”

Jackson asked back, “Then how did you know his name was William Moses Jr?”

The black man smiled and pointed to the tag on the back of the hospital bed, “It says the name on it. By the way, my name is Calcen Yot.”

“Hello, Galkon.” Jackson said perfunctorily, looking down at the hospital bed near the door that did have William Moses Jr.’s name written on it, “Man, do you know where he went?”

“He didn’t even tell me his name, do you think he’d tell me where he went?

He moved in here yesterday and hasn’t said more than three words to me, which is actually kind of nice, I wouldn’t want to suddenly have more than one white friend.

Besides, it’s quiet and easy to recuperate here.”

Galkon looked at Jackson and Jenny and asked rhetorically, “What are you guys? Friends of his? It doesn’t look like it.”

Jenny asked, “When did William Moses Jr. leave?”

Galkon shrugged, “You guys haven’t told me who you are. I’ve answered your questions, but it’s not fair that you still have to answer mine.

So I refuse to answer either.”

Jackson finally realized why William Moses Jr. wasn’t talking to him, the guy was a chatterbox, he flashed his badge and said, “I’m Detective Jackson of the Robbery-Murder Division.

This is my colleague Jenny.”

Garcon’s eyes widened, “He’s a criminal? You’re here to arrest him? That’s why he’s running, doesn’t that mean I was in danger before.

Jesus Christ, I can’t believe I’m in the same ward as a criminal.”

Jackson interrupted, “He’s the victim of a shooting, we’re here to ask him to assist in the investigation and identify the killer.”

Garcon waved his hands, “Shootings, I hate shootings. No wonder the poor guy has been quiet, I guess he’s scared.”

Jackson interrupted him again, “Man, what time did little William Moses leave the ward?”

“I think it was around eight in the morning, yeah, I was videoing with my mom at the time and my mom was surprised that I had an extra white roommate.

She lives in Atlanta.” Garcon gave a you-know-what look.

Jackson also thought the guy was a little talkative and glanced at his watch, it was a little after one in the afternoon and William Moses Jr. had been gone for five hours.

“He didn’t return to the ward after he left?”

“No.”

“Did he take his belongings with him?”

“I don’t think so, the cabinet against the wall is his, you can see for yourselves.”

Jackson opened the tin cabinet to check it out, it still contained clothes and a backpack, as well as a few daily necessities.

Jenny walked over to the hospital bed to check it out, examined the nightstand and asked, “Did he leave alone, or did someone come to the ward looking for him.”

“Left alone, left without saying a word.” Galkon shrugged, “Actually, it doesn’t matter much to me if he left or not, he wouldn’t have talked to me even if he hadn’t.

Nope, at least he won’t be stealing the TV from me, haha.”

Jackson and Jenny didn’t have the heart to listen to his jokes.

Jenny’s intuition told her that something might have happened, “Jackson, check the locker, I’ll call and report to the captain.”

Half an hour later.

Luke led the team to Teodor Hospital.

Garcon not only didn’t get angry when he saw the many people entering the ward, but he looked a little excited.

He pointed at Luke and said, “Hey man, I know you.

I’ve seen you on the news, and you were in charge of that supermarket shooting case last time. You were great, catching that psycho white shooter, can I have your autograph?”

Luke “……”

Jenny whispered, “Captain, just ignore him.”

Luke nodded, “Did William Moses Jr. escape on his own or was he taken?”

Jackson said, “His clothes and personal belongings are still in his locker, none were taken.

He left the ward of his own accord, and no one came looking for him in the meantime.

As for what happened after he left the ward, we’re not sure at the moment.”

Jenny added, “We found the head of the hospital and requested to see the hospital’s surveillance video, and they haven’t gotten back to us yet.”

Luke said, “You go communicate with them again and say that the whereabouts of William Moses Jr. is unknown.

If he was lost in the hospital, the hospital is also responsible, if they are not willing to provide the surveillance video, we will have to contact the family.”

Jenny said, “I know, I’ll get the measure of it.”

“Good.” Luke scrutinized the ward, William Moses Jr. did leave behind a number of belongings, but they were not valuable and could be dispensed with if he really wanted to run.

For a while it was difficult to determine if he had run away on his own or if he had been abducted.

The reason why the word abducted was used was because there should be familiarity between him and the female suspect, Danielle Winter, and it would be easy to be tricked out and held hostage by the other party in an unguarded situation.

“Ringing ……” Luke’s cell phone rang and David’s number was displayed on the screen.

Luke left the hospital room and walked to the quieter stairwell and pressed the answer button, “Hey, it’s me.”

“Where are you?” David’s voice came over the phone.

“At the hospital looking for William Moses Jr.”

“You’re really hands on, just send someone to bring him back, the guy’s leg isn’t hurt.”

“William Moses Jr. is missing.”

David was surprised, “When did this happen?”

“Just this morning, and we’re looking into the circumstances, what do you want with me?”

“We’ve found out the lair of the gang of drug dealers selling new drugs and are ready to close the net, do you want to go together?”

This gang was probably the murderer of the informant Harry Saber, Luke wanted to interrogate them first.

He glanced in the direction of the ward, “Send the address.”

David reminded, “Remember to carry your gear.”

“Got it.” Luke responded and returned to the ward to Ramon, “You’re in charge of this side, I have something to take care of.”

“Go ahead, I’ll take care of it here.”

Luke said, “If you’re short on manpower, contact the surrounding patrols and have them walk around the hospital to see if anyone has seen William Moses Jr.”

“Okay.”

Luke then led Porter and David to the rendezvous.

Monaca neighborhood neighborhood.

The two Luke’s drove to the appointed place to meet David.

After getting out of the car, Luke asked, “David, what’s the situation?”

David said, “According to the information provided by the informant, there is a group of people selling new types of drugs, and we have questioned the arrested drug trafficking leader, Edel Irving, and he did not sell drugs to this group of people.

So, we guess that the source of drugs for this group is most likely the shipment of drugs that was robbed.”

Luke asked, “How many of them are there and what’s their firepower?”

“Two to three guys, not sure about the exact firepower, but it can’t be bad.” David finished and asked rhetorically, “Can we be sure that Harry’s killer and the drug robbers are the same people?”

Harry Szabo was David’s informant and the one who sent Harry to investigate the new drugs.

“Can.”

David nodded, “Catching this gang would be a way to give Harry an explanation.”

Luke asked, “Did Harry Sabo tell you when he dealt the drugs?”

“No.”

“Then you don’t need to beat yourself up, you just asked him to spy, you didn’t ask him to make a two hundred thousand dollar drug deal, my guess is that this guy is trying to make an extra buck by using his status as an informant.

Otherwise, you would have been informed in advance of such a big move.

There’s no way he didn’t know the risks of the deal.”

“Maybe.” David cocked his head, “Let’s move.”

Luke asked, “Didn’t Captain Jones come?”

David smiled, unimpressed, “Just three minor characters.”

Luke smiled back, “OK, you’re in command then.”

David took out the structural diagram of the house, “My plan is simple, I’ll lead a strong attack from the front and you block the back door. Any problems?”

Luke shrugged, “Very much your style.”

David said, “Man, be careful.”

“Better worry about yourself.”

The two men clinked fists.

David swept his eyes over the crowd, “Check your gear and move in five minutes!”

“YES, Sir.”

Monica neighborhood, number 328.

It was a two-story villa with a gray roof and yellow walls.

Several cars parked a little farther away from the house, the officers got out one after another, David and Luke gestured, David led the men to the front yard, Luke led the men to the back door.

There were four patrolmen at the back door in addition to Luke and Porter to assist in the arrest.

Luke led the men to hide on the left side of the back door and Porter led the men to hide on the right side of the back door.

“Bang!” There was a rough breaking sound from the front door.

“LAPD!”

“BANG BANG BANG BANG ……” A burst of gunfire rang out.

Luke gestured at Porter and the others, the drug dealer could escape through the back door at any moment and the crowd was on alert.

“Pop!” There was a crisp ringing sound.

The glass of the window on the left side of the house shattered, and a figure scurried out of the window.

Luke heard the commotion and immediately rushed to the left side of the house with his men to see a white man crouching on the ground.

“LAPD!”

The white man didn’t even look at it, instinctively flung out his right hand, and with a quick movement, a black iron lump flew towards the police.

“Grenade!”

“Get down!”

“Boom ……” There was an explosion, dust rose in all directions and dirt and debris flew.

Luke felt a buzzing in his ears and his mind was foggy.

[Bulletproof card activated, used].

The grenade exploded not far away, because of the protection of the bulletproof card, Luke was not injured.

The two patrolmen who rushed over with him weren’t so lucky, one got his arm blown up.

The other was lying on the ground without moving, seemingly fainted.

“Pop!”

Porter also rushed over with his men, and when he saw the drug dealer who was escaping, he directly shot: “Bang Bang!”

The drug dealer fell to the ground, “Ah!” A miserable scream came out of his mouth.

Luke also stood up and held his gun to check and found that the drug dealer was shot in the back and thigh, but he seemed to be holding something in his hand.

“Grenade!”

Luke shouted, the crowd’s ears were ringing from the blast and they couldn’t hear it without being a little louder.

The drug dealer was still alive, revealing a sinister smile, holding the grenade in his right hand and pulling out the grenade’s pull ring with his left hand.

In the critical situation, Luke used the precision card and fired.

“Bang Bang Bang!”

Luke fired four shots in a row, all of which were directed at the drug dealer’s left chest, and then immediately flopped to the ground.

“Boom ……”

The grenade exploded once again.

However, because Luke had killed the drug dealer, it caused the grenade to not be thrown and exploded directly on the drug dealer.

Blood spilled all over the sky, and meat and broken bones splattered down.

Luke was smeared with blood and wiped his hand, “FUCK! It’s cheap for this asshole.”

Porter walked over quickly, “Captain, are you okay?”

“What did you say?” Luke shouted.

“Captain, what did you say, I can’t hear you.” Porter pointed to his ears as well.

Luke gestured to show that he was fine.

He then rushed to check on the two injured officers, one of the two injured was blown up on his arm and Luke rushed to help him stop the bleeding.

The other woke up and didn’t seem to be in much trouble.

Luke called for an ambulance to come into the neighborhood immediately.

The commotion just now was so loud that the general public hid when they heard the gunshots.

There were some bold ones who saw the police arresting the suspects and came over to watch the action, and when they saw the blood, flesh and broken bones all over the yard, they just threw up.

David walked out from the back door and after seeing the scene, he said in disgust, “Damn drug dealers, how did they become so disgusting.”

He stepped over the blood and water and walked over to Luke, “Luke, no injuries?”

Luke gestured that he was fine and asked rhetorically, “How’s it going on your end?”

David shouted, “I caught two drug dealers, one of them was shot straight up, leaving only one alive.

The guys were vicious, one of the officers was hit in the arm by a stray bullet, and another was hit in the chest with his body armor, his ribs should be broken.”

Luke regained some of his hearing and said, “Give me the live one, and I’ll send it to you after the interrogation.”

“Together with the interrogation, I want to know why they killed Harry too.”

“And who’s in charge of the scene? Someone has to do the aftermath.”

David was a bit helpless and sighed, “OK, take the guy back, I’ll take care of it here.”

“See you later.” Luke greeted, and instructed Porter, who was off to the side, “Press that asshole into the car.”

“YES, Sir.”

Luke briefly wiped the blood off his body and laid a plastic sheet over the seat before taking the car back to the detective station.

Upon returning to the station, Luke immediately went to the gym to rinse off, change into clean clothes, and have a cup of coffee to weigh down his nerves.

Today’s arrest was a dangerous one, and Reed had brought dinner to console him, all vegan and thoughtful.

If it was in the past, Luke would definitely be disdainful when he saw vegan food, but today …… he thought it was quite delicious.

David s side also sent new evidence of the crime one after another.

After eating, Luke went straight into the interrogation room to arraign the drug dealer.

The drug dealer was a white man, not very old and looked to be in his twenties.

Luke sized him up, “What’s your name?”

The white man looked at Luke, “Calvin Pinedo.”

Luke put a couple pictures on the table, white powdered drugs, tons of green cash.

Luke pointed to the pictures of the white powder, “Where did these drugs come from?”

Calvin Pinedo shook his head, “I don’t know, I’m just a small-time player.”

Hearing the other party’s answer, Luke knew that he wanted to shrug off the charges, the other two drug dealers were already dead, all he had to do was to push the charges to the other two, and he could get a lighter sentence himself.

To get him to tell the truth, he had to break him of that, or break the balance.

Let him know that even if he doesn’t tell, someone else will, and the police can convict him just as well.

Through a large number of clues and evidence, Luke was basically certain that this group of drug dealers should be the robbers who robbed Harry Sabo of his drugs and stolen money.

There were only three people who knew the exact time and place of the transaction, the sellers, Harry Sabo and Nke Dumart, and the buyer, William Moses Jr.

Of these, Harry Sabo had been shot by the gang, but the other two men involved in the transaction were still alive.

It was impossible to determine which of the three was the mole, but odds were that one was.

Luke bluffed, “How do you think we caught you?”

Calvin Pinedo shook his head, still in the same tone, “I don’t know, I’m just a small follower, I just wanted to earn some money in the beginning, and I was pulled in by them in a confused manner.

I usually just drive and do whatever they tell me to do.”

Luke laughed, “We know where the shipment came from even if you don’t tell us.

You’re the ones who robbed it in the dark.

We’ve already caught the mole, and he’s the one who gave the three of you up, otherwise, the police wouldn’t have found you so quickly.” Luke’s voice grew cold, “Don’t think that just because your two fellow drug dealers are dead, you can put all the blame on them.

Even if you don’t say anything, that mole will.

Compared to you, we definitely believe his testimony more.”

Luke had been observing the other party’s expression, if the other party did not have any abnormality, then it meant that Harry Saber was the mole, and the group had already killed Harry Saber, and he knew that Harry Saber could not possibly dismantle him, and he could also guess that Luke was swindling him.

If there was a change in the other man’s demeanor, it meant that one of William Moses Jr. or Nko Dumart was the mole.

Calvin Pinedo showed a nervous look and rubbed his cheeks with his hands, “Can I have a cigarette?”

Luke nodded his head and Porter handed him a cigarette.

Luke had been watching Calvin Pinedo and could see that he was very nervous, that meant that the mole was not the murdered Harry Saber, but one of the other two.

Luke continued to test the waters, “How did you split the loot?”

Calvin Pinedo took a drag on his cigarette and said slowly, “The information was provided by William Moses Jr. He alone has 40% of it, and the remaining 60% is split equally between the three of us.”

William Moses Jr. was the mole!

Luke pursued, “Why did you kill Harry Saber?”

“I had nothing to do with Harry Szabo’s murder, it was the other two who did it. William Moses, Jr. promised to give them a percentage when it was done.”

“I asked why?”

Calvin Pinedo took another drag on his cigarette, “William Moses Jr. was shot on the night of March 1, not dead but seriously wounded.

He thought it was a blackmail that had been discovered and guessed that it was probably Harry Sapper taking revenge.

Just decided to retaliate back and take out Harry Saber and Nke Dumart.”

Luke finally understood why after William Moses Jr. was shot on March 1st, Harry Sabo was also shot on March 2nd.

Originally, he thought it was the work of a group of men, but now he realized that it was supposed to be a misunderstanding.

William Moses Jr. had a grudge against Danielle Winter because of a previous car accident, and Danielle Winter got out of jail and retaliated against William Moses Jr. by shooting him at night.

And William Moses Jr. had just hacked and robbed Harry Szabo and Nke Dumart of their drugs not long before, he was weak and instinctively felt that Harry Szabo had found out that he was the mole, and feared that Harry Szabo would kill him again.

So he decided to kill Harry Szabo and Nke Dumart, but he was too injured to do it himself, so he let his two accomplices do the killing.

To put it bluntly, William Moses Jr. was still a thief.
