“Reported by the female victim’s husband, Hans Miller.

The date of the report is August 7, he returned home to find his wife and children disappeared.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department initiated an investigation and visited the area, and according to surrounding neighbors, the three victims were seen during the day on August 6, and it is assumed that the three victims disappeared on the evening of the 6th.

In the evening of August 6th, neighbors saw the driver, Cole Davis, come in and out of the property, and he was the last to have contact with the victims.

The police have been trying to talk to him but have not been able to locate him.”

David asked, “Is the victim’s husband a suspect?”

Deputy Chief Reed said, “We initially suspected the victim’s husband as well, but he has a definite alibi. And even if he was going to get his wife killed, there was no reason to kill the child.

If he hadn’t insisted over and over again, this case likely wouldn’t have alerted the FBI and we at the LAPD wouldn’t have gotten involved.

If the county sheriff’s department hadn’t delayed the initial investigation, this case may not have been unsolved back then.”

Luke pressed, “Why did the county sheriff’s department delay the timing of the investigation? Was it a human cause or a lack of capacity?”

“As far as I know both, the victim’s husband failed in business, the couple had problems with their relationship, and it had gotten to the point of separation, and after the county sheriff’s office ruled out the husband’s suspicion, they assumed that the wife had run away from home, and didn’t think in terms of robbery and kidnapping.

Until the victim’s husband used his contacts to ask the FBI to intervene in the investigation.”

Marcus shrugged, “Wow wow, so he’s still a good husband.”

Reed said, “The victim obviously didn’t think so.”

Marcus said, “At least a good father.”

“The dossier has been read, I’d like to hear your plans for what you want to investigate next.

Come on, don’t skimp on showing yourself.” Reed looked over at the crowd, and seeing that no one had volunteered to speak, said.

“Lieutenant, you’re the first to associate yourself with this case, what do you think?”

“It’s better to give the youngsters some opportunities.” The vice squad waved their hands, “Luke, you speak.”

Luke pondered for a moment, “Twenty years ago, both the FBI and the LAPD were already involved in the investigation of the case.

The ability is definitely not a problem, and the lack of detection can only mean that there are too few clues.

And the advantage we have now is that we have found new clues, and only by utilizing these new clues can we clear up the case.

Personally, I feel that the most important discovery in the new clues is not the vehicle and the victim’s bones, nor is it the fact that Cole’s trail has been found, because these circumstances were already hypothesized twenty years ago, only that there was no evidence to confirm them.

The really valuable clues are instead the two men, Tony and Lawn.”

Luke paused and continued, “These two people have not been investigated before, and no one knows what role they played in the case, I think that getting to the bottom of these two people involved in the case will most likely provide a breakthrough in the investigation of the case.”

Reed nodded, “Back then, we also guessed that Cole had accomplices, but we never found out their identities, the investigation targeting these two people is indeed crucial.”

The people discussed a bit in the meeting and finally determined the direction of the investigation.

Wanted Cole Davis.

Looking for Lawn.

Investigate Tony’s situation.

Redo the statements of the people involved in the case ……

A busy day.

After work, Luke returned to the Eno neighborhood to teach Little Fatty wrestling practice.

Little Fatty is quite resilient, was wrestled with bared teeth did not cry out in pain, but the lawn damage is not light, by the mom a scolding.

Luke ran away.

Little fat man miserable.

The following morning.

Lawn’s family and other people involved in the case came to the police station one after another to make statements, but no valuable clues were found.

Susan called Luke and David to her office and got right to the point: “There’s not much progress in the investigation on the Los Angeles side, and Cole and Lawn’s whereabouts are unknown right now.

I’d like to send you guys to investigate in the victim’s hometown of Heim, what do you think?”

David nodded, “With Hemlock being the place of disappearance and Cole’s hometown, there’s a real need for a new investigation.”

Luke replied, “What about the victim’s husband? Why didn’t he come to identify the body?”

“We called his old cell phone number and couldn’t reach him.” Susan responded and asked rhetorically, “Are you changing the subject?”

“No, I just wanted to ask for clarification.”

“I’ll take that as a yes, then, and I’ll take it that you’ll go back early today to pack up and wish you a safe trip tomorrow.

Close the office door, please.”

In a black Dodge.

Luke and David set out on the road to Hemlock City.

David complained, “Why am I driving again?”

Luke took a pen and wrote in his notebook, “I’m writing up an investigation plan for Hemlock City, want to switch with me?”

“Tell me about it.”

“First things first, a field trip to Telson Manor, maybe we’ll find something new.”

“Come on, it’s been twenty years, you’re being too optimistic.”

“Why don’t you make the plans?” Luke handed over his pen.

“Go ahead.”

“Tony’s from Hemlock too, might be able to find out more about him.” Luke rubbed his hands together and smiled, “And if you have time, try the local cuisine, ‘Kuta’.”

David shook his head, “What’s going on in your head? We’re there to investigate a case.”

“The Vice Squad has always been obsessed with this cuisine, so if you have the time, why don’t you try it? Learn to live, not live. You’re really un-L.A. like.”

David bristled, “You’re right, I’ll consider a move to New York sometime.”

The LAPD was about two hours or so away from the city of Hem.

Haim was more like a small town when they said it was a city.

It was already one o’clock in the afternoon when he arrived.

The citizens lived in a relatively dispersed manner, and the city center was full of various commercial facilities, so the two drove around the city center.

The car stopped in front of a restaurant called ‘Golden Corral’.

Luke’s stomach had long been hungry.

The restaurant was about a hundred square meters, with a few tables of customers sitting sporadically.

An older white woman wearing an apron came over and handed David a menu, “What can I get you to eat?”

Luke asked, “Do they have ‘Kuta’ here?”

“You’ve come to the right place, but the dish is only available at night.”

It sounded a little like domestic kebabs, and Luke looked forward to it a little more.

The two men each ordered a taco and a cold drink.

The taco thing was easy to make, quick to serve, and not too bad.

Sort of a more solid dish, if you don’t know what to eat, order this is right.

After eating, the guests in the store also left a lot.

Luke greeted the large white woman with the check and gave her a ten dollar tip in addition to paying for the meal.

“Wow wow, you are a generous gentleman.” The white amah was a little surprised that Luke tipped more than the cost of the meal.

“Ma’am, I’m from out of town, can I talk to you?”

“OK.” the customers around him were almost gone, and the white amah sat down on her butt on the stool next to her.

The obesity rate in America was extremely high, and it had to do with the way they ate.

“Do you know where the Telson Estate is?”

“Are you also here to investigate the haunting of Telson Manor?”

“Haunted?”

“YEAH, it’s an unsettling place, something bad happened 20 years ago, and people often hear crying on the estate.”

“What kind of unsettling things?”

“Some people say that the mistress of the manor and the child were murdered and buried somewhere on the manor, and that they would come out as soon as it was night …… Anyway, it was something really scary.”
