Part 1 The Joker Chapter 198 – Taking Advantage of Specials
The silver runes turned cold in a hallucinatory way, like crystals built up from layers of snowflakes.
Klein shivered, his mind cleared for a moment, and his fear and panic seemed to be briefly frozen.
He busied himself by pouring his own spirituality into the sigil and used his fingers to tip the thin piece of silver out of his coat pocket and down to his feet.
Dark red flames floated in midair, and the sound of a slight but continuous explosion echoed thinly.
A sense of calm and depth instantly filled the bedroom, enveloping half of it, Mrs. Sheridan and “Sleepless” Cornelius, as well as Kraven himself!
The “Sleeping Charm” itself belongs to an item that does not distinguish between enemy and self, and when it is used normally, it needs to be thrown out and thrown at the enemy.
In this way, the person himself would only be affected by the after-effects, and would not be unable to resist the temptation to fall asleep.
Now, on the other hand, Klein’s arm was entangled in countless invisible filaments, and there was no way to throw the charm, so he could only exchange his own slumber for Mrs. Sherron’s deep sleep!
But a similar situation was something he had long considered and prepared for, as it involved his own specialness, unlike the specialness of most of the middle and low sequence extraordinarys.
In a flash, Klein’s eyelids drooped, unnaturally falling into a deep sleep, into a dream state, while Mrs. Sherron and the sluggish Kornleigh similarly slowed and paused.
With this unnatural pattern, Klein quickly found himself in the dream, sensibly aware that he was asleep.
But where mandatory dream invasions and hypnosis-like effects were involved, he was able to stay awake!
This was true when he encountered Dunn’s nightmare powers, and it was also true when he was psychicized by Daley!
Ka-ching!
Crane forcibly broke the dream and woke up, only to find that the countless threads binding his arms, legs and body were slightly loosened and no longer taut, while Mrs. Sheridan beside the full-length mirror looked confused and seemed to be about to get rid of the effect of the “Sleeping Spell” but had not yet woken up, and Coenley collapsed on the floor, the “Mirror of the Psionic”. The “psychic’s mirror” was upside down nearby, and the revolver bounced against the door.
Opportunity!
Seizing the opportunity to relax the threads, Klein drew out his left palm, snapped his fingers, lit a light blue spiritual flame, and used it to burn the countless threads in front of him.
At the same time, he raised the revolver with his right hand and pulled the trigger continuously.
Bang! Bang!
Two silver-colored Demon Hunting bullets drilled out of the gun and shot towards Mrs. Sherron.
Without bothering to confirm the result, Klein bent his knees and exerted force on his waist and back, and leaned against Kornleigh with a roll, and used it to tear off the roots of the fine wires entangled in his body.
His purpose in firing just now had been primarily to notify the captain outside, to tell Dunn-Smith that there had been an accident inside, that he was in a state of combat, and to please come to the rescue as soon as possible, but of course a direct hit on Mrs. Sherron would have been the best possible outcome, the best possible development!
But Klein didn’t think an Extraordinary who might be a Sequence 7, or even a Sequence 6, was that easy to tackle.
In a flash, a wisp of light blue flame burned in mid-air, it was all ignited root filaments, and in this fantastic scene, two silver demon hunting bullets accurately hit Mrs. Sherron’s body.
Click, click!
Mrs. Sherron’s hidden body in her translucent robe disintegrated like a red moon in a lake, and the full-length mirror next to her followed suit, most of them cracking, turning into fragments less than the size of a thumbnail cap, a handful of them still hanging on top of the frame, each of them seeming like a slap, a strangely shaped slap.
Body doubles? A remarkable ability of the Witch Sequence? Klein swept out of the corner of his eye and had rolled up beside Cornley, as the thin filaments were all torn off by his movements, and the pale blue flames in mid-air did not spread.
At this time, Mrs. Sheridan disappeared, and the “dormant” Cornelius stretched out his own hands and strangled his own neck, strangling him until his saliva flowed out and his tongue spat out, but he still refused to let go of his hands.
But Klein’s psychic vision, but there is no weird things nearby!
He suddenly thought of a description in the data of the seal “3-0271”:
The most dangerous situation is to see yourself!
”Could it be that Kornleigh had just seen herself reflected in Seal Object ‘3-0271’ through the full body mirror?” With a flash of thought, Klein touched another silver charm without thinking time.
It was triangular in shape, and it was the “Soul Restoration Charm”.
”Crimson!”
Klein spat out the ancient Hermetic words as he infused his spirituality and threw the charm.
Then, he pressed down with his left hand and touched the “Psychic’s Mirror”.
He had just confirmed out of the corner of his eye that the seal was face down and would not reflect himself.
The triangular silver spell burned with icy blue flames, and a soft, peaceful black color covered Korneli and spread to Klein himself.
The tension and unease dissipated at once, Coenly’s movements to strangle himself slowed violently, and Klein no longer felt like he was in a battlefield, but as if he were standing in front of the convex belly window of his home, overlooking a quiet street in the dead of night, his body and spirit gaining peace as a result.
This was exactly the change Klein had hoped for!
At this moment, he entered a state of extreme tranquility, as if the entire world was left to him alone and nothing else existed.
With the help of this feeling, an intuitive thought flashed haughtily within his mind:
Mrs. Sheridan is going to attack my right waist!
This is the “Joker” in the battle of precognition, Klein did not hesitate to grab the “psychic mirror”, to the left side rolled out.
As soon as he made his move, a dagger burning with pitch-black flames silently stabbed him where he was just now, stabbing him in the right waist.
Lady Sherron’s figure was once again outlined.
In the midst of rolling, Klein suddenly raised the “psychic’s mirror” and shone it at Mrs. Sheridan!
He just leaned in close to Kornleigh, in addition to rescue his companion, the main purpose is to pick up this seal.
Otherwise, he didn’t think he could hold out against Mrs. Sheridan until the captain came to her aid, and get a good ending – the “Yang Yan Charm” could be used to deal with extraordinary people, but it wasn’t as effective as bullying the spirits, and the other party wouldn’t just stand there and let you use the charm.
If that’s not possible, Klein will have to take the risk of using the “Aztec Copper Whistle”.
The explanations would have to wait until he was able to save his life!
However, the development of the matter is better than Klein expected, Mrs. Sheridan chose to assassinate, did not interrupt his attempts to use the spell of tranquility and hold down the “psychic mirror”.
Thus, Klein instantly formulated a simple plan, not to avoid the after-effects of the “Requiem” effect, thereby increasing the “Joker’s” precognitive ability, and then seized the opportunity to avoid the attack, using the “psychic mirror” to reflect the enemy! Then, he seizes the opportunity to dodge the attack and use the “Psychic’s Mirror” to reflect the enemy!
The translucent robe-clad Mrs. Sheridan’s blow fell short, and she was about to catch up with her agile rolling opponent when she suddenly saw a mirror with three small cracks in it.
A wave of water swirled in the mirror, and a woman’s figure emerged, her hair dark and thick, falling straight down and covering her face.
With a shake of his left hand, the “psychic’s mirror” slid a few dozen centimeters forward along the carpet, facing upwards.
A pale hand stretched out of the mirror, and the figure of a woman in a white sheet-like dress flew out of the mirror and pounced on Mrs. Sheridan.
Mrs. Sherron’s expression became slightly somber, her brown, innocent eyes tinted with a ghostly black.
Seven black flames draped around her with it.
With a whoosh, a black flame flew out and hit the white-dressed woman whose long hair covered her face.
Whoosh!
The woman burst into flames, letting out a painful moan from her mouth, and quickly disappeared.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
A black flame was like a bullet, shooting towards Klein with its tail.
Klein’s pupils shrank, and he hastily rolled over, not daring to have the slightest pause.
However, his rolling movements gradually became stagnant, because a nearly invisible threads were winding up, slowing down his speed and affecting his movements.
This is the nemesis of the Joker’s fighting ability!
A black flame grazed Klein’s face and landed on Mrs. Sheridan’s bed, but it didn’t burn, and seemed to affect only living or sentient things.
Before Klein could be thankful that he had dodged the blow he had just received, another premonition suddenly flashed through his mind.
Thus, he violently pulled his spine and changed his front flip into a side roll.
A transparent lance of ice crystals protruded out in a flash, stabbing into the carpet and into the next position Klein had originally intended.
White frost spread out, rippling through Klein, whose movements were being affected by the filaments.
He shivered suddenly, his body becoming stiff, and although he could still move, he was rather sluggish.
Seeing new black flames coiling around Mrs. Sherron and a transparent frost lance coalescing in his hand, Klein no longer hesitated and dug his hand into his coat pocket, gripping the Aztec copper whistle.
Ho, ho, ho.
At that moment, Kornleigh got rid of the effects of “Requiem” and “Sleep”, climbed up, and looked at Mrs. Sheridan with a blank stare.
A shadow seemed to hang over his face, silent and eerie.
Stomping, “Cornelius” jumped at the nearest Mrs. Sheridan.
Mrs. Sheridan’s eyes narrowed slightly, letting the black flames surrounding her body shoot out one after another, shooting onto the body of “Cornelius”.
Poof, poof, poof, the black flames disappeared like snowflakes, without causing any effect.
Klein was stunned for a moment, then raised his right hand and fired a shot at Mrs. Sheridan’s current location.
Bang!
Mrs. Sheridan dodged in advance and threw out her frost lance, however, it only pierced “Kornleigh” and pierced through the target’s clothing, failing to penetrate the skin and create a freeze.
Bang! Klein fired another shot, and Mrs. Sheridan flashed to the broken full-length mirror, picking up a palm-sized shard.
She continued to maneuver, dodging bullets and using the irregular shard to illuminate another lunging Kornleigh, reflecting her opponent’s figure in the mirror.
Immediately afterward, Mrs. Sheridan dodged and wiped the mirror with her black flame-covered palm.
By this time, Klein had shot all his bullets and had to fling out the revolver, letting the shell casings crash to the carpet along with the pistol.
He had just rolled to pick up Cornley’s revolver when he suddenly heard the screams of his teammate.
”Cornelius stopped, bent over and began to vomit, spitting up bile, a bright red heart, lungs and stomach that were burning with black flames.
