Part 1 The Joker Chapter 54 The First Divination Seeker
Seeing Klein’s look of surprise, Angelica was instantly a little shaken:
”Isn’t it? Mr. Grassis said that you could tell that his lungs were hiding a disease just by observation ……”
The more she said, the more she whispered, and eventually closed her mouth.
Observation? Darkening of the brow? Klein dawned on her for a moment and shook his head in disbelief:
”I think Mr. Grassis is mistaken.”
He originally intended to make a perfunctory remark like this, but suddenly thought that no one had asked him for divination yesterday afternoon, causing the process of playing the role of “Diviner” to be very uneventful, so his mind turned sharply and explained slightly:
”This is actually a kind of divination.”
”Divination? But Mr. Grassis only mentioned that you observed his face, so that’s a divination?” Angelica asked back in surprise and confusion.
Klein laughed calmly:
”As a member of the Divination Club, you should know about palmistry, right?”
Palm reading was not the monopoly of the Great Eater Empire, even on Earth, India and Old Europe had each developed a theory, not to mention that nowadays it was a world with extraordinary power.
”I know, but you don’t seem to have read his palm either? A surreptitious observation?” Angelica inquired curiously.
”I read the face.” Klein babbled, “Its principle is not essentially different from palmistry.”
”Really?” Anjelica’s eyes were filled with disbelief.
For the sake of the development of the “Diviner” business, Klein let out a light laugh, pretended to be thinking, and raised his hand to lightly tap his eyebrow twice.
Gazing into the eyes, Angelica’s aura appeared in his eyes, head purple, hands and feet red, throat blue …… health is not a problem, only the colors are slightly dull, but this is a normal state of fatigue performance.
Klein then looked at the other side of the mood, only to see the orange color mixed with a little red and blue, that is, warm with a little excitement with a little thinking.
Fortunately …… found it to be this kind of condition without abnormality, Klein intended to turn off his spiritual vision, just then, he suddenly saw that Angelica’s mood color was hidden deep in the depths of a thick gray.
”Moreover, she also lacks a bit of white positivity ……” Klein nodded thoughtfully.
”Mr. Moretti, are you reading my face?” Seeing the young gentleman in black formal dress in front of her suddenly go silent and seriously survey herself, Angelica keenly sensed something and asked, half-curious, half-worried.
Klein didn’t answer immediately, and tapped his eyebrows again, with a look of concentrated scrutiny.
Just when Angelica was a little uneasy, he spoke gently:
”Ms. Angelica, there is grief, there is pain, don’t seal it in your heart.”
Angelica’s eyes widened for a moment, and her mouth opened, but she was unable to say anything.
She looked at Klein, who wore a half-height bowler hat and had a distinctly scholarly demeanor, and heard the other woman say in a low, soothing, feel-warming voice:
”You need a hike, a tennis match, or a sad play to tire your body from the exercise, to let the tears flow without covering them up, and then to cry out in pain, hiss, and explode those emotions completely.”
”It’s good for your health, too.”
The words poured into her ears, and Angelica stood there as if she had become a statue, unmoving.
She blinked hard and lowered her head in panic, stifling her voice:
”Thank you for your advice ……”
”There seem to be quite a few members today?” Without another word, as if he hadn’t done any divination earlier, Klein looked sideways at the conference room at the end of the hallway.
”Sunday afternoon …… at least 50 members ……” Angelica’s voice was still a little low, and the description was only a few key words.
She paused, her speech gradually returning to normal:
”Would you like black tea, or coffee?”
”Sibel black tea.” Klein nodded slightly, removed his hat ceremoniously, and then walked slowly toward the conference room.
It wasn’t until he disappeared around the door that Angelica exhaled slowly.
……
The Divination Club’s conference room was very large, almost twice the size of Klein’s high school classroom.
Usually there were only five or six members here, which made it seem very empty, but now, dozens of “diviners” were sitting in twos and threes in different places, filling up most of the space at once.
The sunlight shone in through several convex belly windows, and the members were either discussing in whispers, or gathered around Linus Vicente to ask for advice, or burying their heads in exercises and attempting to divine, or sipping coffee and reading the newspaper alone.
Images like this gave Klein the feeling of being back in his student days on Earth, only it was much more lively and boisterous then, without this taste of tranquility.
He looked around and didn’t see the two acquaintances, Grassis and Edward Steve, so he casually took a communal divination textbook, found a corner, and leisurely flipped through it.
Not long after, Angelica came in with a cup of black tea and put it on the table in front of Klein.
She was about to leave quietly when she suddenly saw Mr. Moretti unclasp a chicly shaped silver chain with a pure citrine dangling from within the cuff of his left hand.
What was he going to do? Angelica unconsciously slowed down her steps and gazed at Klein.
Holding the silver chain in his left hand, Klein dropped the citrine straight down over the cup of Sibel Tea, so that it was just a fraction of an inch away from making contact with the surface of the liquid.
He half-closed his eyes with a serene expression, and the atmosphere around him became eerily quiet.
The pure citrine moved slightly, making a clockwise rotation with its chicly shaped silver chain.
Seeing this scene, Angelica only felt that Mr. Moretti was unusually mysterious.
”Your black tea is not bad.” Klein opened his eyes and whispered with a smile.
His actions just now were done on purpose, purposely for Angelica to see!
For someone to seek out his divination soon, Angelica, who was in charge of reception and recommendation, was actually a very crucial factor!
Since he was going to play the role of a “diviner”, Klein no longer had any worries and truly committed himself to this identity.
”…… Yes, Mr. Vannas is very picky about the quality of black tea.” Angelica said in a daze.
At this time, Klein retrieved the spirit pendulum and rewound it, then lifted the white patterned porcelain cup and remotely honored the other party with a smile.
……
Angelica returned to the reception hall, no longer in the mood to read magazines, she sat there, staring blankly, not knowing what she was thinking.
It was only when there was a knock on the door that she woke up with a start and looked at the entrance in a panic to see a young lady in a light blue dress.
The lady had removed her sombrero, which had a powder blue ribbon, and her expression was quiet and melancholy.
”Good afternoon, honored lady, would you like to join the club, or are you looking for a divination?” Angelica greeted her familiarly.
”I want divination.” The young lady with beautiful eyes but hiding melancholy bit her lower lip and said.
Angelica first invited the other party to sit on the sofa and then described the member divination in detail.
She fetched the atlas and handed it over saying:
”You can pick any one.”
The moody young lady carefully flipped through the atlas, for there were so many members at the club today that there was so much to choose from that it was a source of annoyance to watch her.
”Can you recommend one? Inside these pages.” She pointed to the middle section of the atlas, omitting the soothsayers whose prices were above two soules and below four pence.
Angelica took back the atlas, looked at it for a few minutes, and deliberated:
”I recommend this gentleman.”
The lurking young lady gazed up and saw that it was a soothsayer named “Klein Moretti.”
”…… Mr. Moretti has just joined the club. …… Is he of a trustworthy standard?” she inquired. She inquired uneasily.
Angelica nodded affirmatively:
”One of the members and I were able to ascertain that Mr. Moretti is excellent soothsayer. If it weren’t for the fact that he just joined the club, he wouldn’t have charged only such a low fee.”
”I see.” Miss Melancholy nodded, “Then I will ask Mr. Moretti to do the divination.”
”Yes, you wait for a while.” Angelica took the atlas and got up and walked to the conference room.
She came to Klein’s side and lowered her voice:
”Mr. Moretti, someone has asked you for divination, which divination room do you need to use?”
The effect is good, the first single “business” door …… Klein put down the cup of black tea, calmly nodded:
”Citrine room.”
”Okay.” Angelica slowly stepped forward to lead the way and opened the wooden door of the Citrine Room.
Klein sat down behind the table with many divination instruments and waited for a few dozen seconds before seeing a woman in a light blue dress with a low and melancholic mood enter.
Taking advantage of the other woman’s backhanded closing of the door, he tapped his brow twice.
”The yellow color of the stomach is a bit dull …… The dark color of the mood is very heavy, dominated by worry, uneasiness ……” Klein looked it over carefully, leaned back slightly, and lifted his hand to turn off his psychic vision.
”Hello, Mr. Moretti.” The woman in the light blue dress sat down.
”Good afternoon, what should I call you?” Klein asked politely, not holding out the expectation of necessarily getting an answer.
As a keyboard powerhouse, he knew that many people were reluctant to use their real names in divination.
”You may call me Anna.” The woman in the light blue dress put her gauze hat to one side and looked at Klein with anticipation and more than a little skepticism, “I would like to divine my fiancé’s condition, he went to the southern continent in March for a business deal, and on the third of last month, he telegraphed me and his family that he was about to set sail and return, but twenty days have passed and he still hasn’t returned, and I initially thought that it was because of the Berserk Sea’s weather, but to this day, more than a month has passed, and that ‘Clover’ ship he was traveling on still hasn’t arrived at Enmat Harbor.”
The ocean that separates the north continent and the south continent is called the Berserk Sea, known for its many natural disasters and numerous dangerous currents, if not for the fact that Emperor Rossel sent people to explore a few relatively safe shipping lanes, the countries of the north continent may not be able to start the colonization era until today, not to mention the laying of undersea cables and the completion of the structure of the wired telegraph.
Klein looked at the first customer in the true sense of his career as a “soothsayer” and asked cautiously:
”Which divination method do you wish to use?”
