Part 1 The Joker Chapter 57 Sorting and Summarizing
After a pause, Klein continued to write:
”The essence of solving magic potion problems is digestion, not mastery, and this can be understood intuitively.”
”Mastery is just treating the power of magic potion as an external tool, a tamed beast, no matter how good and skillful the mastery is, they still don’t really belong to oneself, and the risk of backlash is higher, while digestion is to treat the magic potion you drink as a part of yourself, breaking it down, fusing it, absorbing it, and unifying it with each other as a whole.”
”This is not in doubt for the time being, the key is why ‘playing’ can help with digestion.”
”Based on today’s Diviner experience, let’s make two guesses first and wait for further verification.”
”One, ‘playing’ according to the name of the magic potion can change the state of the body, mind, and spirit, allowing them to gradually get close to the stubborn spirit remaining in the core of the magic potion, thus resonating, assimilating a little, and absorbing a little.”
”Two, the stubborn spirit remaining in the core of the magic potion is like a well-defended computer mainframe, in order to invade it, break through it, and disintegrate it, it is necessary to find the bugs, find the loopholes, and find the keys, and the name of the magic potion reveals the corresponding clues, and so it is possible to play the role of reconciling the body, the mind, and the spirit, and to disguise as ‘one’s own person ‘, fooling the ‘guards’ and waltzing in, a line of thought more similar to that described by Rossel the Great.”
”Regardless of the speculation, the state of body, mind, and spirit are elements that cannot be bypassed, after all, they are the only bridge between ‘playing’ and the power of the magic potion.”
Klein put down his fountain pen and read the passage again, momentarily wanting to thank the Big Eater Empire for the test-based education it had given him.
No matter what, regardless of one’s choice of science and engineering, basic logic skills were still available, otherwise there was no way to become a keyboard powerhouse and make such analysis and guesses.
”Playing might actually work, the exact change remains to be seen.” Klein made a stage summary.
Immediately afterward, he wrote down a second question:
”A description that makes people feel strange, why is it that ‘Diviners’ who are more erudite and specialized in the field of occultism lack direct means of defeating the enemy? Shouldn’t erudition and specialization make ‘diviners’ stronger and better able to discover ways to overcome the enemy?”
”The reasons for this analysis are as follows:”
”The first one, just like the online articles I’ve read before, I’ve penetrated into the game world that has become reality, so the different ‘professions’ must each have their own characteristics and be relatively balanced with each other, but so far there’s no sign of datamining or questing, so this factor hangs on for now, and it’s probably extremely low.”
”The second, the underlying rule of this world is balance, the Creator created this place with balance at its core.”
”The third, the magic potions of the same sequence are on the same energy level, this is the best state discovered by the forefathers after exploring and summarizing, exceeding this energy level, it is easy to collapse and get out of control, too far below this energy level, you can’t get the extraordinary power that you want, so in the case of a certain level of energy, on the one hand it is stronger, and on the other hand, it is naturally a little bit weaker. ”
”The fourth, all things are of the same origin, all differentiated from the Creator, all belonging to the Creator’s fragments, and the potential meaning of complementing each other is that each has its own problems.”
”The third and fourth causes are currently favored, but the latter stems from uncertain myths and should only be used as a reference.”
”The third will be used as a guide first, to be verified by current studies and subsequent discoveries.”
By this point, Klein had filled two full pages, but he didn’t stop there, dropping his pen again to comb through new questions:
”From today’s study, my ‘Transit Ceremony’ belongs to typical ritual magic.”
”Similar ritual magic of this kind can be divided into three parts, the first being the sacrificial part that pleases or arouses the interest of the counterpart being, the second being the incantation part that describes the specific object of the prayer, and the third being the substantive part of what help is wanted, which needs to be spelled out in the formatted language of the counterpart and a certain amount of symbolism.”
”Analyzing the ‘Transit Ritual’ from this point of view reveals a glaring problem; there is no third part!”
”It has a sacrificial Part 1n which the staple food is placed and four steps are taken counterclockwise to form a square, and it also has a mantra Part 1n which the prayers are labeled to point to, such as the Blessed Sheng Xuan Huang Xian Zun, etc.”
”But it follows up with just waiting with closed eyes and does not describe the purpose of the ritual as transmigration.”
”That is to say, what this so-called ‘Transit Ritual’ wants to pray for is not clear to the corresponding being at all, and it can only be freely played …… freely played… …”
”Pitiful! That ‘Qin and Han Secret Recipes Chronicle’ is too fucking pitiful, isn’t it?”
”I must have had water in my brain to think of trying it out ……”
Klein stopped his pen and took two breaths in an effort to calm himself.
Exhaling, he let out a cloudy breath and continued to compose himself:
”Consider redesigning the ritual to make it complete, and the goal of the prayer is to return to Earth, to the world where your parents and loved ones are.”
”So the question arises, is that being free-playing or not? Or is a deeper purpose implied?”
”Further, is the One to whom the descriptive spell points on Earth and the One to whom it points in this world the same Being or not?”
”If it is, and the difference in the effects of the first and second rituals can be explained as a free-for-all, then the fact that both the second and the third traveled above the gray mist, and that both connected ‘justice’ and ‘the inverted hanged man’, with almost no difference, is again because of what?”
”When the fourth ritual tomorrow afternoon proves to be steadily repeatable, it will mean that the effect is solidified, it will mean that the goal of the prayers is implicitly linked in a way that is not yet clear to me, so that adding new descriptions, new prayers, will not result in a clear response, and will even only confuse the ritual and produce bad results.”
”Does the difference between the first time and the subsequent time, in insisting that the object of the ritual prayer remains unchanged, mean that the world in which it is located will result in a different response? It’s like using a different interface ……”
”And how should I design it to achieve the effect I want?”
”Some of the previous problems would be perfectly explained if the first and the two following points to a different existence, but again, the stability and unchanging nature of the second and third means that the goal of the prayer is implied, and change is not in the cards for now.”
”The most crucial point, who exactly is the pointing being, where is k, and how is it that there is not a hint or guidance for me?”
”k is in the depths of that gray mist world?”
”Huh, isn’t it possible to think of k as a sleeping being, one that gives certain stimuli and gets fixed feedback, and otherwise doesn’t interfere or affect me?”
”Then different rituals can be designed to stimulate it, to summarize the pattern of feedback and finally find the right way to return.”
”But the problem is that if k is not asleep, then all the temptations could lead to something terrible and very dangerous.”
”The first trial must be careful enough to avoid angering …… from the design.”
”That’s a real head-scratcher, pending further study.”
Klein sighed and gave his conclusion.
After that, he recorded something else sporadically:
”There are always disembodied voices echoing in my ears, hissing Hornachis and, uh, pronouncing Fellagra or Feregra?”
”The Hornachis is a mountain range that straddles the Kingdom of Ruin and the Republic of Intis, its main peak reaching over six thousand meters high.”
”According to the notes of the Antigonus family, there was the Kingdom of Night there during the Fourth Age. The Kingdom of Night, the Goddess of Darkness, is there any relationship between the two? A family member, or a hostile force? Was the Kingdom of Night the reason why the Antigonus family was overthrown by the Church of the Goddess of Darkness?”
”The whispers I hear, from that notebook, from the hissing of the Antigonus family for a millennium or two?”
”And what does the Feleagra, well, Flegra, stand for?”
”An interesting question, to be able to leave notes like that, to leave Seal #2-049, suggests that the Antigonus family wielded quite a bit of extraordinary power, so which pathway to the Sequence did they have in their hands? Complete, or incomplete?”
”It’s a bit of a coincidence that the notes were found in the hands of Rill Beebe, but then again, there’s no sign of an arrangement; is it really a predestined bond?”
……
One by one, the thoughts fell into his pen, and Klein wrote to his heart’s content about the things he had encountered during this time and his own speculations.
This writing was a full four pages, both front and back.
Tear! Klein suddenly ripped off these four pages, and read them several times again from beginning to end, sometimes circling with a pen, sometimes adding a few sentences.
As time flew by and the red moon was briefly obscured by dark clouds, Klein picked up the pocket watch on his desk, snapped it open, and looked at it.
He set the pocket watch down and removed the box of matches from the drawer, brushing one off and bringing it closer to the four pages of notes.
Orange-red flames bit into the paper and spread rapidly.
Klein placed the four pages of notes on the wooden trash can and saw the ashes float and fall.
He loosened his fingers and let the paper fall, but in the work of ten seconds or so, everything disappeared, with only the still slightly swirling ashes and the scorch marks on the bottom of the barrel telling of the past.
Because of Rossel the Great’s secret diary in front of him, Klein didn’t dare to leave behind evidence that he could write Chinese – if Old Neil and the others found those four pieces of paper just now, things would not be clear.
And when writing about confidential issues, no matter whether it was in Ruen, Guversac, or Hermetic, Klein was worried about being seen and deciphering the contents by the One watching him in his dreams, so he wrote in Chinese to sort out and summarize, and then when he was done with that, he burned the paper again without leaving any traces.
And because it was impossible to save it, he made a plan for himself to summarize it once a week to avoid forgetting it.
Watching the ashes fall all over, Klein drew out a piece of white paper, Yu looked up and wrote:
”Dear Mentor:”
He was going to write to Senior Associate Professor Cohen Quentin and ask him if he had any historical information related to the main peak of Hornachis.
