Part 3 The Traveler Chapter 171 – Black Face, Black Hands
The ground trembled slightly as a figure close to three meters tall appeared at the edge of the island’s primitive forest.
It was grayish-white in color and seemed to be composed of a single boulder, with a pitted face and no visible eyes, nose, mouth, or ears.
”Stone giants ……” “General above the stars” Gadelia whispered the type of monster.
And neither Klein, nor Anderson had the slightest knowledge of such monsters.
However, neither of them threw an inquiring look at Gadelia, staring intently at the monster with a look of I’m a professional.
Katriya turned her body to face the side-parked “Future”, half-lifted her right hand, and amplified her voice:
”Aim!”
The pirates manning the ship immediately adjusted the direction of the dozens of guns on the port side, so that they were all aimed at the stone giants that were walking heavily.
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
A single cannonball flew out and landed around the stone giant, and dust instantly rose up, obscuring a large area.
In the obvious trembling of the earth, fire and debris surrounded the area, as if it could destroy everything.
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!
The tall grayish-white figure came out through the smoke and dust, and actually did not suffer too much serious damage, only the surface layer cracked a little.
”The star above the general,” Gadelia said with an unchanged expression:
”This is not a type of giant, it belongs to the stone monster.
”Its core is the main material of the ‘God of War’ pathway Sequence 5 ‘Guardian’, so its defense is very high.”
With the echoing sound of the cannons, Klein almost suspected that he was having trouble hearing.
If you understand the Stone Giant’s strengths, why do you need an artillery barrage? Isn’t that a waste of artillery? He thought, half puzzled and half belabored.
Perhaps hearing his thoughts, Gadelia looked at the stone giants that approached step by step and said:
”I haven’t encountered this extraordinary creature before, so I wanted to do a test.”
This reason I’m convinced …… Klein couldn’t say anything.
At this time, Anderson Hood, who had been observing the stone giant, raised his hand and said:
”Which one of you has the extraordinary ability of the Frost Field?”
”Me.” “The Star Above General,” Gadelia replied calmly.
Seeing that Ms. Hermit had a solution, Klein swallowed back the words that were on his lips.
For him, he didn’t want to turn on the “Creeping Hunger” if he didn’t have to, even though the “Walkers” did have the ability to control frost.
–On this island, he didn’t think he’d be able to find proper food!
Gadelia pulled a gray-black scroll from the concealed pocket of her sorcerer’s robes and whispered an ancient Hermetic word:
”Freeze!”
Wordlessly, the scroll was engulfed in icy blue flames, and a stream of crystal clear light spiraled down in midair.
They flew down onto the stone giant, freezing the target within, hanging one ice prism after another.
In a toothsome clicking sound, the ice layer shattered one after another, and the stone giant slowly walked out of that area, however, its grayish-white appearance was a little deeper, and its movements were also a lot stiffer than in the earliest days.
At this moment, Anderson raised both hands at once, as if the conductor was signaling the audience to applaud.
The soles of the stone giant’s feet instantly rose in orange and nearly white flames, as if it had stepped into some kind of trap.
A quick burst of vapor rose from its surface, then clicked and cracked, creating gap after deep gap.
Anderson pulled back his right arm, and a blazing white lance condensed in his palm.
The flames at the tip of that lance shrunk to a single point, bursting out with piercing light.
The lance flew out and accurately hit the crack in the stone giant’s abdomen, directly burning and melting a large hole there.
Anderson Hood, who was originally located on the beach, seemed to have merged with the blazing white lance long ago, and bizarrely appeared behind the stone giant when the fire was brightly lit.
With his left hand clenched in a fist and his arm bulging, he hollowed out an uppercut into the heart of the stone giant’s abdomen from the location of the large hole.
This seemingly simple attack created an exaggerated effect, as the stone giant immediately stiffened in place, its interior continuously emitting clicking and cracking sounds, and collapsed into a pile of rubble without using a few seconds.
Absolute lethal attack …… Klein’s gaze narrowed for a moment.
”The Star Above General,” Gadelia said unsurprisingly as she stood calmly in place:
”Sequence 5 of the ‘Hunter’ pathway is called ‘Reaper.
”And they are good at spotting weaknesses in their prey.”
”Reapers” …… harvest life? No wonder …… Klein nodded with a small amplitude.
At this time, Anderson crouched down, picking his way through the remains of the stone giants for a while.
Then, he turned his head and laughed bitterly:
”It’s not a real monster.”
In other words, there was no gain!
As Anderson described the situation, the pile of rubble also disappeared at a speed visible to the naked eye.
…… Unlucky guys like you shouldn’t open boxes and touch corpses …… Klein couldn’t help but spit out a sentence in his heart.
Anderson returned in disgust and could not stop chattering:
”The biggest problem of this sea is this, not every monster can provide you with wealth!”
Because this kind of materialized monster belongs to a part of a higher level and more powerful monster, of course, it could also be the influence of the residual power residual breath …… Klein had judged this early.
After this period of navigation, he found that here appeared “sun”, “night”, “storm” and “audience” pathway extraordinary traces. “Pathway” extraordinary traces, some of the previous ideas have more specific speculation.
He had originally suspected that this sea was a battlefield left behind by the ancient gods of the Second Age: “Storm” belonged to the Elf King Sunyasolem, “Spectator” belonged to the Dragon King Anglewydd, and “Night” The “Storm” belongs to the Elf King Sunyasolem, the “Audience” belongs to the Dragon King Anglewild, and the “Night” belongs to the Destructive Wolf Friggara – with the little “Sun” providing the mythological accounts of Silver City over and over again, Kraven has already grasped the authority of each of the eight ancient gods of the Second Age.
However, always in the midday day and the gold cast “chariot of the sun” to make Klein on his own judgment appeared to be a little shaky, because none of the eight ancient gods mastered the “sun” pathway.
Soon, Klein thought of Amon and Adam’s father, the Creator of Silver City, who was also known as the ancient Sun God.
After the Creator awoke, he reclaimed the authority of the ancient gods after a fierce battle!
And so left behind such a ruins of the divine war? The tattered mural seen within the ancient elven ruins immediately appeared within Klein’s mind:
The Elf King Sunyasolem was confronting the Creator of Silver City, the Ancient Sun God!
Between his thoughts, Anderson had resumed his smiling state and looked at him:
”What is the name?”
”Germaine Sparrow.” Klein simply gave his name.
”Germaine Sparrow?” Anderson was stunned at first, then normalized, “I’ve heard of you, the adventurer who almost hunted the ‘Lieutenant General of Disease’ and has the title of the craziest hunter! Last month when I passed by the Rothschild Islands and Oravi Island by boat, I had planned to find you for a drink and get acquainted, but you ended up going somewhere.”
Last month? I was volunteering at the hospital …… Klein nodded and said:
”Recognize now.”
”And try not to talk.”
”……” Anderson forced a smile, “I know, my bad luck will make my bad words come true, well, don’t look at me, I won’t talk, you can put down your charm.”
The pirates’ relaxation time was cut short by the presence of a monster like the Stone Giant, and the Future soon resumed its voyage to the depths of the ocean.
During the journey, Klein was always standing on the deck, leaning against the side of the ship, observing the surrounding situation, while Anderson was skulking around the ship, communicating with the pirates in a very sociable manner.
Awesome ah, easily figured out the situation on board …… Klein glanced at Anderson, who was drinking with a few pirates in the shadows of the cabin, and sighed with emotion.
Of course, this “strongest hunter” probably does not know that the wine he drank has a sedative produced by some unknown thing …… Klein stifled his laughter and thought intriguingly.
With Anderson’s help, the “Future” successfully bypassed two hidden whirlpools and a floating palace ruins, and continued along the safe channel.
About three hours later, night came once again.
Kraven quickly regained his wakefulness and sanity in his dream and opened his eyes to look around.
There was nothing but blackness within his field of vision.
…… I can’t be blind …… Klein reflexively came up with such a thought, and then, put his right palm into his coat pocket, took out a box of matches.
This is the “magician” necessary casting materials.
Skillfully taking out a match, he struck it with a brush, and a faint flame immediately appeared in front of Klein’s eyes.
The fire struggled to expand a bit, and blurred out the surrounding scene.
It was a cell, a cell with a barred door that was hidden!
How could I be here? It’s not next to the General on the Stars, nor is it random within a certain range of Anderson’s frescoed hall ……? As his thoughts swirled, Klein flicked his hand, extinguishing the match that had nearly burned his fingers.
His left palm quickly colored with a layer of pure and brilliant sunlight, as if there were two more miniature “suns” in his eyes.
With the soul of the “Priest of Light”, he gained the night vision ability belonging to the “Sacred Light”.
Looking around, Klein saw that the cell he was in wasn’t too narrow, but the floor was dirty and messy, with many footprints, not knowing what had happened.
”Most of them are human footprints, a small number of them are more exaggerated, perhaps belonging to giants …… single bed broken and folded in the corner, and there is a key by the side of the door …… Who is this who escaped from prison successfully?” Klein came to the large door of the hidden iron bars and cautiously peered out.
Lightless darkness filled the outside of the cell, darkness shrouded a stone-paved aisle, and on the opposite side were cold, hard walls that stretched all the way to the left and right, and seemed to contain more cells.
Crane withdrew his eyes, picked up the key from the floor, and closed the barred gate a little more tightly.
He didn’t try to open the door, he remained inside the cell.
He clearly remembered that Will Ansettin, the “Serpent of Destiny”, had instructed him never to explore the dream world, so he planned to wait here until noon came!
A cell is a cell, but I’m not going out …… Klein cowered in the corner and sat down on half of one of the single beds, seemingly blending in with the dense darkness around him.
In this extreme quiet, Klein’s head suddenly tilted as he vaguely heard the sound of light footsteps!
The footsteps came hollowly and ethereally, slow in frequency, coming closer and closer.
