Part 3 The Traveler Chapter 52 The Dream Classroom
Danez’s concerns didn’t turn out to be true, as Klein simply looked at him and walked into his bedroom, ready to rest.
During those five hours of traveling on the passenger ship, his spirit was always in a highly tense state, and last night, he was disturbed and didn’t sleep well, so it was inevitable that he was a bit tired at this time.
With a clang, Klein closed the bedroom door.
Whew …… scared me to death! Daniz’s entire body relaxed at once and paralyzed into the comfort chair.
Moments ago, scenes of himself turning into a golden pound had floated within his mind, scene after scene, and it was hard to stop.
Calm for a while, in the bar fooling around until dawn before returning to the hotel, Daniz unconsciously fell asleep again, dreaming that the captain came to save himself, but failed to succeed, and was captured by Germaine Sparrow, so that this crazy adventurer more than a maid.
Just when Daniz was about to wake up, he was too angry to fight back, but suddenly saw the blurred scene around him become clear, and was fixed in the luxury suite of the Azure Breeze Hotel.
Knock, knock, knock.
Daniz heard a slow and steady knock on the door.
Am I not dreaming? With that in mind, Danitz walked over to the door and turned the knob.
The doorway grew wider and he saw a familiar figure.
It was a beautiful lady with a face like a goose egg, a high nose, thin lips, and light blue eyes that seemed like clear spring water.
Her long brown hair was parted in the center, tied in a simple but delicate knot at the back of her head, and then smoothed down.
She wasn’t wearing a hat, and was wearing a beige jacket that cinched in at the waist, with a large white lace woven into a palm-sized flower-type decoration spreading down the neckline.
Matching the jacket was a dark knee-length skirt with pleats attached to the hem, slightly puffy, and a pair of leather boots of a similar hair color under her feet.
”Captain!” Daniz exclaimed.
He whirled around and snapped out of it, turning his body in a hurry to take a defensive stance against Germaine Sparrow’s bedroom:
”Watch out! Run fast! There’s a madman who wants you! There’s a terrorist organization behind him!”
As the sacrificial sentiment sputtered out, Danez heard his captain speak calmly:
”It’s a dream.”
Dream …… Yeah, I’m dreaming, what’s there to be afraid of …… Danez looked around and gathered his arms, backing up as he turned his side:
”Captain, you simulated the ‘Nightmare’ ability? No, you were still around Sunia Island last week.”
Sunia Island, the largest island in this sea and the source of the name Sunia Sea, was nearly equal to a small continent, it was originally the only remaining settlement of elves after the Cataclysm, but over time, this ancient and extraordinary race was plagued by a wide variety of factors and gradually faded away, with only occasional, sporadic appearances remaining to prove that they were not yet completely extinct.
At the end of the Fourth Age, the Kingdom of Ruin took possession of the island, but they failed miserably in the Twenty Years’ War, giving Sunia to the Forsak Empire more than seven hundred years ago.
Sunia is located in the north-northwest direction of the Rothschild Archipelago, and it takes nearly half a month to travel by ship, so it is unlikely that Admiral Edwina Edwards, who was in the vicinity of Sunia last week, will arrive in Byam this week, unless she can fly or use the Spirit World to travel.
The beautiful lady Danez called Captain nodded:
”We’ve just entered the Rothschild Sea, 1,000 nautical miles from Byam.”
In other words, there are still three to four days to arrive? That’s normal,…… Daniz said curiously:
”This should already be beyond the range of the ‘Nightmare’?”
And far beyond …… he added mentally.
”Lieutenant General Iceberg,” Edwina said as she entered the room and walked towards the table and chair locations:
”It’s not a ‘nightmare’, it’s a secret ritual magic that enters your dreams at a great distance with the help of certain items you left on the ship ……”
Listening to the Captain’s meticulous explanation, Daniz instantly felt like he was back on the Golden Dream and starting a class.
I’ve never even heard of this kind of ritual magic before …… Also, the captain has mastered so many strange and rare magics and sorceries that no one can figure out how much knowledge she actually possesses …… I think she mentioned that her serial title is ” Mentor of the Secret Arts”…… Alas, if I had known that she had such “secret arts”, I wouldn’t have had to worry about how to notify her of Bayam’s change of heart… …Daniz interrupted Edwina’s description with a flurry of thoughts:
”Captain, you sense a problem with the contact point here?”
”Well, it’s another secret technique ……” Edwina seemed inclined to describe the exact method in detail.
Daniz was busy sighing at the sight:
”Poor old Lynn and the others ……”
Edwina then stopped in her tracks, turned her back to the window, and asked succinctly:
”What happened?”
”It needs to start with Damir Harbor.” Daniz’s spirits lifted, only to feel that his long suppression had finally paid off in this moment.
He described his attempts to recruit Germaine Sparrow, only to discover that he was a madman, and exaggerated his misery on the White Onyx.
According to last night’s draft, he told the original story of Banshee Harbor, the ambush and siege of “Steel” McVitie, and the counterattack and hunt after joining forces with Germaine Sparrow, and carefully elaborated on his own speculations about Germaine Sparrow’s abilities and background, which included the “Creeping Hunger” and the “White Agate”. Creeping Hunger” and the secretive and powerful organization.
In the process, he tried to restore the truth as much as possible, and only slightly exaggerated the role he played, raising his status from servant and retainer to the level of assistant and collaborator.
”Lieutenant General Iceberg,” Edwina said with a soft nod at the end of her sentence, having been listening quietly without interrupting:
”He means no harm.”
Him? Germaine Sparrow meant no harm? Daniz said in a rush:
”Captain, either way, he’s a dangerous fellow!
”Are you sure he means no harm?”
”Not sure.” Edwina responded very calmly.
”…… Then you just now?” Daniz sucked in a silent breath, only to realize that the Captain was similar to Germaine Sparrow, the type who couldn’t hold a proper conversation.
”Lieutenant General Iceberg,” Edwina said with an expression that saw no abnormality:
”That is my speculation and judgment.”
”……” Daniz rubbed the corner of his forehead with his right hand, “Anyway, he’s dangerous, there’s a hidden, unknown organization behind him, and Captain, I don’t think you should risk interacting with him, even if he claims he has something to inquiry.”
Edwina thought for a moment and said:
”No need to risk it.
”I can communicate with him through you.”
Daniz was relieved at first, then asked curiously and expectantly:
”How, Captain? Or rather, how do I cooperate with you?”
Edwina raised her right hand and materialized a stand and a blackboard in the dreamscape:
”You are required to perform a ritual.
”It is called the ‘Séance Ceremony’ and it allows my spirit to pass through the spirit world, attach itself to your body, and speak directly to Germaine Sparrow, below the level of a demigod, at an effective distance of no more than 500 nautical miles ……
”It deals with reason and communication, and belongs to the realm of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom; you must depict the corresponding symbols and magical signs ……
”In the occult, the counterpart to the God of Knowledge and Wisdom is the Blue Star, which requires the use of mercury, brass, lavender, pepper, and mint as materials ……
”The Blue Star corresponds to Saturday, and the Blue Star Hour has Friday from zero to one and Saturday from 11 to 12 noon ……”
As Edwina explained and wrote the key points to remember on the board, Danez instinctively sat down and assumed an attentive posture.
As he listened, he was suddenly a little confused:
Why am I dreaming of learning?
……
Inside the bedroom, Klein, who was sleeping, suddenly awoke with a start, vaguely sensing something.
He rolled over and got up, listening sideways for a moment, and realized that Danitz in the living room was snoring, but it was a lot more subdued than before.
It wasn’t too strange a behavior, but it was unusual enough for a veteran of the occult like Klein, who had been through a lot.
He eased his footsteps to the door separating the bedroom from the living room, probed the handle, and twisted it slowly.
Without a sound, Klein stepped out of the bedroom and saw Danitz lying in the easy chair, sound asleep, while everything around him was normal as before.
Klein quietly opened his psychic vision and examined “Flame”, but did not find any problems, whether it was the color of the aura, or mood changes, the other party is not abnormal, within reasonable limits.
After looking down for a while, Klein frowned slightly and reached out to pull out a silver talisman.
”Dream Charm!”
……
In the dream world, Danitz studied the “séance” with a bitter look on his face, half suspecting that the captain in front of him was someone else in disguise.
No one could fake his style, his hobbies, and his specialties!
At that moment, he heard the sound of a lock cylinder turning.
Subconsciously, Danez looked back to the bedroom, only to see the doorway there widening, and Germaine Sparrow, wearing nothing but a white shirt on his upper body, stepping out expressionlessly.
”You! How did you get out!” Danez jerked to his feet, shocked out of his mouth.
He quickly came back to his senses and stammered:
”This, this is my dream!”
Why did this Germaine Sparrow guy just show up when he said he would!
Klein responded in a low voice as he walked towards the lady with her back to the window with one hand in the pocket of his dark pants:
”A charm.”
Then, looking directly at the woman, he asked back with near certainty:
”Edwina Edwards?”
This dress is a bit strange ah …… neither like an adventurer, much less a pirate, somewhat similar to the kind of women who work in decent professions and support themselves independently …… similar style of clothing seems to have come over from the side of Intis… …Klein thought with slight discomfort.
Edwina nodded softly and asked the same rhetorical question:
”Germaine Sparrow?”
”Yes, good afternoon, ma’am.” Klein smiled a little and pressed a hand to his chest in a curtsy.
Edwina nodded in response:
”Good afternoon.”
Maintaining his persona, Klein stopped speaking and waited for the other to take the initiative to ask what he was up to.
……
He looked at Edwina.
……
Edwina looked at him.
……
There was a sudden silence in the dream world for several minutes.
Danez looked to his right now and then to his left, inexplicably thinking that it might all really just be a dream.
