Part 4 The Undead Chapter 206 – Putting Pen to Paper
Above the boundless gray mist, inside the magnificent and ancient palace.
”There is a distorted image of the ‘Storm Lord’ found, suspected to be left behind by the members of the Redemption Rose …… Well, the ‘Red Angel’ Medici is one of the founders of the Redemption Rose …… “Klein sat on the high table belonging to the “Fool”. One of the founders of the Redeemer’s Rose …… “Klein sat in the high-backed chair belonging to the Fool, quietly gazing at the crimson star representing the Hanged Man. The star that represents the “Hanged Man”.
With the feedback from the other party, he could basically confirm that the one who possessed Ince Zangwill was the “Red Angel” evil spirit!
In the unchanging silence, Klein sat silently at the top of the long mottled table, as if he had become a statue of a god.
After an unspecified period of time, he nodded his head imperceptibly and exhaled slowly.
With that, his figure disappeared back into the real world and continued his slumber, not bothering to think of any plans or consider anything Innes Zangwill related.
Sleeping until dawn, Klein rolled out of bed and, repeating his habitual movements of the past few days, walked barefoot to the window and drew back the curtains.
On the street outside the inn, Danez, dressed as a native of West Byron but with an extra cloak, tucked his iron black gloves into his arms and hurried toward the plaza on the right, where, based on his earlier report, Klein knew that he was to make contact today with some of the local ruling powers to find out their attitudes on the arms trade.
Anderson did not follow, will be three sevens short blonde hair a little more messy, slowly paced to the edge of the square, found a seat, and then to the left palm of the black glove cover a funny doll, for the people passing by the hand puppet show.
One person and one “puppet”, each with a different voice, making witty remarks and mocking each other, was quite an eye-catching sight to behold.
The only problem was that they were speaking in Intis, not Duttan, so few people could understand them, and they just watched for a while before dispersing.
Klein gazed at the strongest hunter in the Misty Sea, his expression did not change, and the color of contemplation did not appear in his eyes.
……
The temporary office of the “Red Gloves” team of Soest in East Byron.
Cindy, who had long burgundy hair, walked in with several telegrams and said with a slight excitement:
”We’ve found some new clues!”
”What clues?” Solstice put down the white-glazed porcelain coffee cup in his hand, and Leonard and Daley and the others also turned their gazes to the door.
Cindy spoke as she handed the telegram to the captain:
”Rossel the Great’s saying, ‘Wherever you go, you leave a trail,’ really holds true, and several places have been found where witnesses to Ince Zangwill have been found, which constitutes a complete track of the operation.
”From this, it can be noticed that Ince Zangwill seems to have contradictory ideas, always approaching the colonized islands of Intis, and then pulling away after a short stay, approaching again, and moving away again, as if he were doing it, doing it ……”
Wasn’t this the inconsistency in words and actions before and after that Klein was talking about? Leonard’s heart leapt with joy, and he offered to help Cindy think of a good adjective:
”Wave motion.”
”Yes, yes, yes, waves!” Cindy breathed a sigh of relief and turned to describe, “Also, Ince Zangwill has had several spies from the Intis military killed and has purchased multiple copies of extraordinary materials, so I don’t know what he’s trying to do.”
This …… Leonard said with deliberation:
”What are the specific avenues of extraordinary materials that Innes Zangwill bought?”
”There’s the ‘Warrior’ pathway, the ‘Hunter’ pathway, and the ‘Songwriter’ pathway.” Cindy pointed to the telegrams that Captain Thorst was reading.
Sure enough, there is a “Hunter” pathway …… Leonard, who had been unable to find an excuse or an opportunity to get his teammates to pay attention to the “Hunter” related clues, silently exhaled, and there was no doubt that Klein’s guess was the truth again! There was no doubt that Crane’s guess was the truth!
Next how to guide everyone to figure out the fact that Ince was possessed by the “Hunter” pathway evil spirit …… Leonard fell into a deep thought, until Soest read the telegrams, distributed them to the rest of the team, and then had a little idea, decided to take a chance.
Before opening his mouth, he subconsciously glanced at Daley Simone, only to see the lady doing the psychic outfit slightly press her palm, signaling him not to rush and stop trying.
Did Ms. Daley mean that it wasn’t time yet and that he needed to wait for a better opportunity? In the midst of Leonard’s hesitation, he saw Daley shake the telegram she held in her hand and looked around the circle:
”I have an idea.”
”What idea?” Thorst inquired.
Daly smiled:
”I suspect that Ince Zangwill is possessed by an evil spirit.”
This, this said …… would be suspicious! Leonard was startled.
Not waiting for Solstice, Cindy and the others to ask questions, Daley said to herself:
”Ince Zangwill used to be a ‘gatekeeper’, and now he is a ‘night watchman’, able to hold evil spirits inside his body and borrow their power, moreover, he has ‘0-08 ‘ help, and if I were him, I would certainly use it to seek out more powerful evil spirits to maximize my own strength.
”In this way, Ince Zangwill would have shown a contradiction in demeanor when the evil spirit was not fully controlled and there was a backlash, which would explain the question on the telegram.
”Also, haven’t we always wondered why Ince Zangwill contacted important members of the Spirit Order, and there have been all sorts of speculations about it? Asking for their help in exorcizing, purifying, or completely controlling the evil spirits might be his purpose!”
Solstice pondered for a while, weighing his words:
”I can’t rule out such a possibility, but this basically stems from your subjective speculation …… How did you come up with this point? What details inspired you?”
Leonard was inexplicably nervous, while Daley chuckled:
”It’s a female sixth sense, like I know what you, and you guys, think at certain times.
”And, since this is a discussion and analysis, we have to list out various possibilities and then eliminate them based on the results of the actual investigation, which will be conducive to finding the right answer, so we have to think out of the box, and dare to put forward ideas, no matter how ridiculous they may be!
”From the various details that have come back now, I think this guess of mine could possibly be right.”
Ms. Daley is really good at talking, at least I’m convinced …… She initiated the evil spirit possession speculation to protect me who has a secret and draw the risk to herself? In this matter of Ince Zangwill, she seems to be willing to bear everything …… Leonard had a dawning realization and a burst of emotion.
After hearing Daley’s reply, Thorst nodded slightly:
”Indeed, since this is a discussion, we cannot self-limit our thinking.
”The possibility of evil spirit possession is really not small, I will report to His Excellency the ‘Eye of the Goddess’, and the Archbishop and senior deacons will arrange the follow-up investigation, after all, we know too little about ‘0-08’. ”
……
”The ‘Red Glove’ team led by Thorst discovered the anomaly of Ince Zangwill in the telegrams coming back from all over the world, and Daley Simone used this to put forward the hypothesis of evil possession, which was more unanimously agreed upon.
”She claimed it was a reasonable guess, but had actually known something about it, from Leonard Mitchell, who had a ‘parasite’, and who could the sender be, when Leonard Mitchell’s information had originated in a letter sent by Renette Tignicole?
”Meanwhile, Leonard Mitchell and Daley Simone are already suspecting that the evil spirit possessing Ince Zangwill belongs to the ‘Hunter’ pathway ……”
An uninked classical quill seemed to be being held by an invisible hand, writing rapidly on a plain notebook.
Suddenly, a slightly pale palm reached over and gripped the quill.
The owner of that palm had dark blonde hair, and his features were as profound as a classical statue, with one eye deep blue and nearly black, and one crawling with tiny and obvious veins.
With a sinking of his wrist, he continued to write:
”But is this the way it’s going to be? Will it all go as Daley Simone, Leonard Mitchell, as Soest’s ‘Red Glove’ squad predicted?”
……
The godforsaken land, the city of Nos that lightning couldn’t illuminate.
As the figures looked over in unison without making a sound, Derek was so startled that he nearly aborted the light and ducked in a non-frontal direction.
However, his training from childhood and the previous year’s experience kept him from panicking and rushing to finish, forcing down his fear as he waited for the Chief to give the next order.
Two dark green complex symbols stood out in Colin Iliad’s eyes, incorporating the street in the pale mist and a figure that looked normal but didn’t create a single movement into his pupils.
Suddenly, he stifled a grunt and dropped to one knee, his hands gripping the two straight swords stuck in the ground.
On the back of his neck, the greenish-black skin swelled a little, and indescribably complex and mysterious symbols protruded, half-illusory and half-real, spreading into a higher or lower level.
At the same time, the “shepherd” Luowei Ya also issued a painful grunt, raised his hands, covered his head, and spat out several masses of writhing flesh and blood.
Her palms, her body surface, if there was a silver armor bizarrely appeared, and nearly overlapped with her.
”Stop.” “Demon Hunter,” Colin whispered after a second interval.
Derek ended the light in a hurry, letting the pale mist hide the figure, letting the dead silence of the ancient city of Nos fall back over it.
Everything quickly returned to its previous state, and Colin Iliad slowly rose to his feet, gazing sullenly at the towers, churches, and other buildings that loomed out of the mist.
”This place isn’t quite the same as it was when I first explored it, and I’m not sure why it’s changed.” “Demon Hunter” Colin withdrew his gaze and looked around the team, “What are your opinions and thoughts?”
”Shepherd” Lovia had already crouched down to pick up a few clumps of blood and flesh that had fallen earlier, but without rushing to stuff them into her mouth, chew and swallow them, she took the initiative to speak:
”We can change directions and explore the other entrances to Nos City, maybe we’ll find something.”
She had maintained a stoic onlooker’s attitude all the way, and this was the first time she had expressed her thoughts and offered her opinion.
