Part 4 The Undead Chapter 64: Gradual Proficiency
Not good! Emlyn White followed Argos’s gaze and noticed the stale newspaper and small wooden box he had forgotten to dispose of.
Although they originally belonged to this room, they had been in separate places before, and it seemed rather strange that they were placed together at this moment, as if someone had wanted to do something with them but temporarily abandoned them.
Then why did they temporarily give up? Was it disturbed by the knock on the door just now? And did this mean that the murderer had not left and was lurking somewhere in the room? Similar questions flashed through the minds of Argos and Emlyn White at the same time, except that one was suddenly puzzled, and the other was guessing in reverse what the other would think.
Not good!
The two vampires reacted at the same time, Argos lunged to the side, behind him a thick black aura filled the air, which resembled the shape of bat wings, while Emlyn White’s fingers quickly slid over the “Lemanor travel notes” spread out.
Suddenly, silver and white appeared, once again illuminating the room.
The branching lightning missed Argos and struck the floor next to the bed, disintegrating into a myriad of tiny snakes and leaping toward the more conductive things around them.
In here, the wings Algos created with rich black Qi seemed to be particularly favored by the thunder, being chased by many silver-white electric snakes, hao sprites and spread to the surface of his body.
Argos was steeply paralyzed for a second and failed to land and bounce, falling with a thud.
Emlyn hurriedly flipped through “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” and slid his finger over a page of “Lightning Strikes” again.
Although he didn’t know why there were so many pages of lightning strikes, taking up half of the tawny parchment, at this moment, he was incredibly thankful to be able to continue using it.
The silver-white lightning fell out of nowhere and struck Argos directly, causing a black smoke to rise from his body as he tried to leap away from the paralysis, and his body couldn’t stop trembling.
Seizing this opportunity, Emlyn White’s knees were straightened up and his feet stomped, almost dragging out a residual shadow like a high-speed approach to Argos, and then used his right arm to hoop the other party’s head, and lightly circled around and flashed to his back.
Click!
Argos saw his back directly.
His eyes filled with blood at once, and the few places where his face had swollen and festered completely disintegrated, and deep, unreal darkness raced out of it.
Emlyn, not understanding what had changed, slipped on his feet and instinctively stepped backward and changed position in quick succession.
Argos did not give chase, and seemed to lose his mind in his eyes, leaving only pure malice, madness, and apparent bewilderment.
He raised his hands and pressed his head from both sides, wrenching it hard enough to bring it back to its proper orientation with a crisp click.
And all around this artificial vampire, darkness surged deep, as if to engulf everything.
Then Argos moved his wobbly neck from side to side, the surface of his body all swollen and rotting and oozing disgusting pus.
He came to find Garris Kevin tonight because of the precursor of loss of control, and he needed to talk about a solution, and he turned back in the middle of the journey because he suddenly thought that the harsh environment might have a strong negative impact on himself, who possessed extraordinary sense of smell and sensitive senses, which led to the presentation of the signs of loss of control.
At this moment, under the shadow of death, he completely collapsed and truly lost control.
Swept by the sight of Argos, Emlyn White’s heart trembled, feeling that he was in trouble again, and couldn’t help but curse this group of “Primordial Moon” believers for always making themselves look like monsters.
He didn’t pray to Mr. Fool right away, either because it was too late, the other party was about to attack, or because he didn’t think it would be too dangerous for him to deal with the out-of-control Sequence 7 in a one-on-one situation.
He grasped the time, quickly flipped “Lemanor’s travel notes”, so that it is once again fixed on the “lightning strike”.
Snap!
The thick, twisted, clawed silver-white lightning struck the mutated Argus.
At this instant, the lightning seemed to shatter the surging darkness, but also seemed to be swallowed by the profound other side, both disappeared at the same time, leaving behind only the Algos whose gaze had finally locked onto Emlyn.
The out-of-control artificial vampire literally dragged out its residual shadow and lunged at its target.
Emlyn’s body shortened and rolled on the ground, dodging the fatal blow.
At the same time, his right hand, which was not holding the “Lemanor’s Travel Notes”, went into his coat pocket and took out a metal bottle.
Stomp!
Argos turned sharply and instantly closed in on his enemy.
Pop! Emlyn, who didn’t have time to open the cap of the bottle, pinched the metal bottle directly out of the gap with five fingers.
Then, he threw the bottle forward, letting the pure and brilliant liquid inside spill over to the pouncing Argos.
This was the “Water of the Sun” that he had concocted with spiritual materials, and it was very effective in restraining vampires.
This was the preparation that the “Professor of Magic Potion” had made in advance!
”Ah!”
Argos, who was directly hit by the splash, let out a miserable scream on the spot, his body surface vaporized a wisp of black smoke, and he lost his strength in mid-air.
Bang! Although he hit Emlyn, he could only make the other party lose his balance and tumble twice without suffering any substantial damage.
In the middle of rolling, Emlin did not care to deal with his injuries, shook his right hand, which was in pain due to a few drops of “Water of the Sun”, and quickly made “Lemanor’s Traveling Notebook” turn the page.
Splash!
Another silver-white lightning bolt struck down, causing Argos’ screams to come to an abrupt end.
The out-of-control artificial vampire seemed to be suffering from the sun’s close proximity on one side, while on the other side, he fell directly into a strong paralysis.
Seizing the opportunity, Emlyn took out another bottle of “Water of the Sun”, unscrewed the cap, and poured it directly in front of him.
This time, Argos couldn’t even scream, his body appeared like a melting candle.
Only then did Emlyn breathe a sigh of relief, diffusing a dense black mist behind her back and turning it into an illusory bat the size of a palm, swarming towards her target.
The black bats landed on Argos, enveloping it completely, and then parted with a crash, flying back to Emlyn and disappearing.
Argos’ body visibly shrunk in size and finally couldn’t support it anymore, slowly collapsing with a half-melted trail.
Only then did Emlyn raise his right hand, checking for residual pain, and saw that there were shriveled and vesiculated wounds on his palm and several fingers.
However, the flesh and blood inside were writhing rapidly, healing themselves.
It’s over …… I can’t believe I actually finished him off …… Emlyn retracted his gaze and looked at Argos’ corpse, still in a bit of disbelief.
Although there had been quite a few twists and turns in this hunt, he hadn’t actually been in any real danger during the entire process, which made him realize once again that the existence of the Tarot Society had made him quite a bit stronger than he had expected.
”If Argos had examined the body of Garris Kevin first, instead of observing the newspaper and crate there in the sleeping bed, then he would have been able to determine that I possessed such an extraordinary ability as ‘Lightning Strike’, and wouldn’t have been able to use the ‘Wings of Darkness’ while dodging ‘ and encountered the wave of lightning ……
”But in this way, he won’t be able to detect the abnormality and it will be difficult for him to evade in advance, and things will be much simpler as my ‘Lightning Strike’ will be able to directly hit him ……
”From this perspective, no matter what, as long as I don’t make any mistakes in my response, I’ll definitely be able to strike him down …… They’re really weak ah …… So I’m already this strong… …
”No wonder the Patriarch asked me to join the Tarot Society …… It’s a gathering prepared to meet the end of the world to save their respective communities, and it’s unknown how many times more upscale than other hidden organizations!” Emlyn lifted his chin slightly, the corners of his mouth curling up a bit in an uncontrollable manner.
He then heard footsteps coming and going outside the door, but no one approached.
Argos’ screams just now had startled the surrounding residents, but they didn’t dare to come in for fear of getting into trouble …… However, someone must have already gone to the police …… I have to quickly deal with the scene and get out of here… …Emlyn withdrew his gaze from looking at the doorway and walked over to the body of Garris Kevin, picking up a fist-sized piece from the rendered open pool of blood.
It is bright red, like a heart, is slightly expanding and contracting, the surface is translucent, vaguely liquid flowing inside, is the “pharmacist” pathway Sequence 7 “vampire” legacy of extraordinary characteristics.
This is my trophy …… Emlin is still a bit uncomfortable for a moment, fixed his mind before the extraordinary properties and Garris Kevin’s head wrapped in old newspapers, stuffed into the wooden box.
After placing the crate, he ripped off Argos’s head, which had festered to the point where it was almost impossible to see its original appearance, and then took out another bottle of potion and sprinkled it into every corner of the room.
Emlyn didn’t panic at all during this process, and didn’t seem at all worried about the arrival of the official Extraordinary Ones from the Eastern District.
After a few minutes, he picked up the somewhat mutated extraordinary properties of Argos, glanced at the surface layer that was closer to black and the looming pattern of a human face, and floated a pervasive black aura behind it.
That black aura once again transformed into countless tiny bats that flew around the interior of the room, combining with the magic potion liquid sprayed earlier to create a quietly spreading black flame.
This black flame burned away the blood, burned away the corpses, and burned away the traces left by the lightning strikes, leaving only a layer of liquid as sticky as asphalt covering the different items.
The liquid then turned into heavy black bats that hovered around Emlyn.
Emlyn did not have the luxury of hoping that his treatment could completely interfere with other people’s tracing, his only purpose was to make the situation at the scene seem like not much of a problem, so that the police would let the official extraordinary people who might take over think that the matter was not too important and of little value, and casually investigate it and throw it into the file cabinet, no longer paying attention to it.
With that done, Emlyn, wearing a duck-tongued hat and covered in charcoal gray, lifted the wooden crate and looked around the room.
Then, he bowed slightly to the Crimson Moon outside and made a salute.
At the same time, the “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” in his hand flipped and settled on the page of “Teleportation”.
Emlyn’s figure, along with the heavy bats, then became transparent and invisible, and disappeared into thin air.
It was at least a quarter of an hour before a couple of East End cops arrived at the apartment, broke down the door, and found no occupants or bodies.
They yawned lazily and forced the onlooking occupants to admit that they were hallucinating, and closed the investigation accordingly.
That’s how efficiently the East End police do things and how they handle cases.
……
After leaving the East End, Emlyn went home and hid the “Lemanno’s Travel Notes” before heading straight to Audra’s house in the West End with his gains.
He was going to declare victory and collect his reward!
