Part 5 The Red Priestess Chapter 27 The New “Angel”
At the sight of Frank’s smile, Gadelia’s emotions were a bit mixed, and then she withdrew her gaze to the fishing village near the harbor where the Future was located.
No one could have imagined that this was an important stronghold of the Moss Ascetic Order.
In order to avoid the Aurora Society’s possible pursuit, “Star General” Gadelia and her fleet had stayed here for some time recently!
Instead of rushing to set sail, she prepared to disembark and use the facilities in the fishing village to contact the men who stayed in Bayam to monitor “Artisan” Sharf, so as to ascertain the situation and make a proper plan.
With this in mind, the “Future” will be launched to Bayam, the capital of the Rothschild Islands, which is a few days’ sail away.
……
It was an unusually early dawn in July in Birkeland, but the overall temperature was not too hot, not even above 30 degrees Celsius.
Shielding himself from the sunlight that was piercing through the layers of clouds with his bowler hat, Emlyn stepped out of the carriage and entered the Church of the Harvest.
At a glance, he saw Father Utrafsky, dressed in brown clerical garb and a clergyman’s fedora that resembled a mountain peak, standing in front of the Holy Emblem of Life, preaching to the few believers who had come to pray in the morning.
Emlyn didn’t look around much and walked straight into the back of the church to the room that belonged to him and skillfully changed into his clerical robes.
He wiped up the candlesticks and other things while waiting for the believers to leave, and after about twenty minutes or so, he finally found the opportunity to sit down next to Bishop Utrafsky, look at the Sacred Emblem of Life, and speak as if to himself:
”Father, I have a question for you.”
Bishop Utrafsky, who had sparse eyebrows, light blue eyes, and a few visible wrinkles, responded with a smile:
”Speak.”
Emlyn paused for a breath of time and spoke the words he had thought over and over last night:
”If, and I mean if, an estranged relative deceived you and put you and your friends in danger and almost lost their lives, and the matter was not suitable for court, how would you punish him?”
Father Utravski, who was like a small mountain even as he sat, said in a low, soft voice:
”First of all, you need to determine whether that relative was negligent and made a mistake, or whether he deliberately deceived you and guided you to step into a trap, and if it’s the former kind of situation, what you need to do is to admonish him, remind him, and teach him, not just think about punishing him, and if it’s the latter kind of situation, you also need to make sure that this is his usual style of acting.
”If it is, remove him, otherwise he will inevitably endanger other people and innocents. Putting an end to his life, sending him back to the earth, restarting the cycle of reincarnation, is a mercy is a purification ……”
…… cleansing …… priest talked about killing people even more calm, more natural and more peaceful than the “world”! The muscles of Emlyn’s face twitched slightly as he hurriedly interrupted Father Utravski’s reply:
”No, he doesn’t usually behave like this, he only targeted me once for some reason, I, I don’t want to kill him for that.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Emlyn froze in place, as he seemed to probably probably indicate that the victim was himself, indicating that the matter was an internal problem within the Blood.
Father Utravski gave him a sideways glance and said with a pleased smile:
”Not bad, you have learned the value of life.”
Emlyn forced a smile:
”So what should be his punishment?”
Father Utravski said as he looked ahead at the Holy Emblem of Life:
”I do not advocate resorting to violence for problems, you can bring him here so that he can listen to my sermons, read the Holy Scriptures, realize the preciousness of life, feel the Mother God’s mercy, and labor for the crimes committed.”
Isn’t this what has happened to me …… Emlyn was struck dumb, and then felt that this solution was very much to his liking.
It would neither cause Ones Boyar to die, nor was it comparable to simply beating the other party up and demanding some compensation, and more importantly, it didn’t rise to the level of a fight, and wouldn’t cause conflict within the Blood Clan!
Of course, there were drawbacks to any approach, and in Emlyn’s case, if he wanted to do so, the biggest problem was:
How to bring Ernest Boyar to the Harvest Church?
From the time he started volunteering here, all the Bloods in Berkland knew to stay away from this area, and Ernest Boyar was no exception, there was no way he could be tricked into coming in!
If he was forced by violence, Emlyn asked himself that with the ring given by the originator Lilith, and the magical and powerful “magic book” he could rent from the “magician” lady, it wouldn’t be too difficult for him to defeat Viscount Ernest Boyar, but it wouldn’t be so easy to control the other party, not so easy. After all, it was a Blood Viscount, an extraordinary person equivalent to Sequence 5, and although Ernest was not too old, he still had some collections.
In this case, it is difficult to grasp the degree of direct strikes, and if you are not careful, it will lead to bloodshed, which is contrary to Emlyn’s original intention.
It may be necessary to collaborate …… In Beckland, there are several members of the Tarot Society, and if they cooperate with each other, they should be able to easily control Ernest …… Uh, they can’t expose their identity because of this, and it is best to collaborate in phases and not meet each other …… Between his thoughts, Emlyn made a decision, intending to enact a mission at the Tarot meeting next week to seek help.
He nodded gently in response to Father Utravski’s earlier offer:
”That doesn’t sound too bad.
”I’m going to calm down for a few days before I make a decision.”
Father Utravski nodded and smiled slightly:
”Fruit is a long process from sowing to reaping, and it requires patience, as you seem to have understood.”
It was, of course, a simple truth! Emlyn’s chin tilted up slightly, and habitually folded his hands together to the Holy Emblem of Life, saying a prayer.
……
22 Pacefield Street, home of the Ruane Charitable Scholarship Fund.
Audrey returned the papers in her hands to her desktop and glanced up at the wall clock hanging on the wall of the board of trustees’ office, unable to relax her mind.
She had arranged to meet with Yslante at Stephen Humpreys’ home this afternoon.
Obviously, that meant there was going to be an ordeal, and if that Psycho-Alchemy Society group was discreet enough, they might even have reported the matter, and secretly there might be a member of the Convocation observing everything.
Based on her own level and ability, Audrey couldn’t confirm how scary the high sequence “audience” was, but she could already imagine how they would behave in certain areas, which made her uncontrollably nervous about being “watched”.
”In fact, I should have delayed it for a while longer, although the timing I chose and the emotions I displayed are all in line with psychological logic, and delaying the meeting further will definitely draw suspicion, but more than a little bit of suspicion, it’s more important to wait for Mr. ‘World’ to come back from the southern continent, and in that case I’ll be able to directly make an appointment for them to meet at the Foundation without worrying about what the high sequence ‘audience’ will find out …… Hey, Audrey, you still haven’t considered it deeply enough ah …… “Audrey sighed silently, threw herself a “pacification”, calming her emotions.
In the afternoon, she did not rush to leave the “Ruane Charitable Scholarship Fund”, sat in the office, buried his head, folded his hands, whispered a prayer to Mr. “Fool”.
After completing this matter, she took the maid Annie and the big dog Susie, boarded her own carriage, and went to the home of the furniture merchant Stephen Humpreys.
The carriage had just pulled up when a brilliant pillar of light suddenly appeared before Audrey’s eyes.
In the pillar of light, an angel bathed in golden light with twelve pairs of wings on its back slowly descended, wrapping her in layers of feathers made of flames and dissipating them.
Audrey’s vision quickly returned to normal, the corner of her eye unobtrusively swept over the personal maid Anne and the big golden dog Susie, and found that they were unaware of the scene just now.
And the previous angel is a little different ah …… “Fool” Mr. recovery more at the same time, k’s angel also further recovery? The corners of her mouth moved slightly, Audrey collected her smile, and her heart became unusually certain.
In less than half an hour, her carriage stopped at the door of Stephen Humpreys.
After handing her hand to maid Anne, Audrey stepped out of the carriage, marched to the door, and watched as her attendant pulled the doorbell.
It wasn’t long before Yslante answered the door and, as always, led Audrey directly to the sitting room on the first floor, while Maid Anne and Susie, the big dog, were taken into the parlor by the servants to wait.
Come to the door of the living room, Yslante reached out and pressed the palm of the handle, quite solemnly made a gesture of invitation.
This …… Audrey vaguely had a little guess, but the surface did not move, and slowly stepped through the door of the room that Yslante opened.
Yslante did not enter, and closed the door of the sitting room outside.
Audrey then looked ahead, only to see an old man sitting quietly on a single sofa in the sitting room directly opposite the door.
This old man wearing a shirt, vest, formal three-piece suit and striped blue-gray pants, wearing a dark red bow tie, his hair is already completely white but still dense, his temperament is gentle and elegant.
He had a pair of blue eyes that seemed to harbor wisdom and knowledge, and basically no wrinkles except for heavier head lines.
Audrey recognized him; this was the royal advisor, Hwyn Lambeth!
Of course, Audrey had long ago learned the old gentleman’s secret identity at the Tarot:
Member of the Convocation of the Society of Psychological Alchemy!
She did not hide her surprise, because she was indeed surprised, although she guessed that Hwyn Lambeth was likely to come over, but thought that the other party would not come directly out and only make a secret observation, letting Hilbert or Stephen talk to him on his behalf.
”You are surprised?” Hwyn Lambeth asked with a smile.
He whirled around, rose, and said with a curtsy:
”It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Audrey.”
Audrey deliberately opened her mouth and closed it again before responding with a complex smile:
”I don’t know what to call you anymore.”
Hwyn Lambeth chuckled:
”As usual.”
He gestured to the couch next to him and said:
”Sit down and we’ll talk.”
Audrey quietly took a deep breath and with a light smile, she walked over unhurriedly and sat down to the sofa, keeping a distance of not far and not close to the other party.
