Part 5 The Red Priestess Chapter 54 Prelude
Above the gray mist, in the grand palace.
Klein saw the scene in the room of the valet through the point of light of the prayer of the “winner” Njoni.
The field of vision was raised and gradually extended, and the whole Birklund Street was reflected in his eyes a little bit, there are small buildings surrounded by flowers and grass, there is an Indus sycamore tree blocking the sunlight, there are carriages slowly passing by, decorated with elegant or gorgeous, and there are young people riding bicycles and speeding happily.
Eventually, Klein locked onto the house at number 39, the residence of Councilor Macht, and lowered his view down, examining the humans and animals there one after another to see if he could spot a man with dark hair and eyes and a monocle.
Phew …… no misplaced fates or graft for the moment …… Nearly ten minutes later, Klein breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Just then, a carriage pulled into the Macht house and stopped in front of the foyer.
A young girl with long dark green wavy hair and dark brown bright eyes stepped down from the carriage, it was none other than Hazel who had returned home from her outing.
She was wearing a dark green dress that didn’t show her shoulders, her lips were slightly pursed, and her expression was stretchy with a bit of pleasure.
Seeing such a Hazel, Klein’s heart thumped inwardly.
This was an absolutely perverse performance!
In Klein’s opinion, after that rat demigod encountered Amon’s doppelganger, the result was no more than those two, one was that he still had his cards and managed to escape at the cost of serious injuries, and the other was that he returned to his extraordinary characteristics, and became the sustenance for Amon’s growing doppelganger, and whichever was the case, Hazel would inevitably not be able to find her teacher, and would inevitably be sad, distressed, downcast, and grieving, so how could she possibly be both relaxed and happy at the same time?
With her performance of going to the countryside manor to inform her teacher even at the risk of her own life, she is not that cold and selfish …… Her current state indicates that she confirmed that her teacher, the rat demigod, is fine, and even received a certain amount of rewards from the other party, perhaps including all kinds of common sense of the transcendent world …… This is contradictory to what I speculated about the rat demigod’s downfall, no, not contradictory, after eliminating all sorts of impossibilities, what remains is the truth …… Klein leaned backward against the back of his chair, already having a judgment:
Amon not only drew on the extraordinary characteristics of the rat demigod, but also stole “his” fate and took over “his” identity!
Therefore, in Hazel’s eyes, her teacher did not have an accident, just need to hide for a period of time …… After some confirmation, Klein silently exhaled, slightly relaxed.
To him, the most terrifying point of Amon was that no one knew in what way and in what capacity k would appear, and it wasn’t impossible that one day Senator Macht put on a monocle and the mosquitoes in the garden turned their bodies at the same time, so after roughly grasping what capacity Amon would appear in, Klein inevitably stepped down a bit.
As for whether Amon would show the details in front of Hazel, Klein believed that it was absolutely impossible, after all, this was a king of angels based on fraud, even if he casually revealed common sense that was not quite the same as what the rat demigods had taught him before, he could easily bluff his way through it by using the excuse of “it was originally a test, but now it has officially begun”.
Of course, according to Palles Zoroaster, Amon would never appear as just a rat demigod, so he can t be careless …… Klein observed for a while longer, withdrew his sight, and left above the gray mist.
Inside the semi-open room with a large balcony, he sat down to an easy chair, took a sip of black tea with lemon slices in it, and half-closed his eyes, thinking about how he was going to deepen his connection with Chunas Korg afterward.
I don’t know how long it took, but Klein suddenly opened his eyes and opened his spiritual vision in a smooth manner.
–At the rank of Demigod, he was already able to switch on and off his spiritual vision purely with his mind.
Almost at the same time, Renette Tynicol, who was carrying four blonde-haired, red-eyed heads, stepped out of the void, with a letter bitten into one of her mouths.
”Whose letter?” Klein held out his right hand as if muttering to himself as if inquiring.
”Sharon ……,” Renette Tinnicol’s other head opened its mouth and replied.
Ms. Sharon? She should be making the final preparations before promotion, why would she suddenly write to me? Klein was slightly puzzled as he took the letter from the messenger lady.
After unfolding the letter paper, he realized that there was very little content on it, only a simple line of words:
”Emlyn White is looking for the Rose School.”
Emlyn was looking for someone from the Rose School? Crane raised his eyebrows in considerable surprise.
In his opinion, Emlyn was a Blood who was afraid of trouble and didn’t even want to go out if he didn’t have to, so how could he take the initiative to look for people from the Rose School?
This was definitely not Emlyn’s own intentions …… Well, Emlyn had mentioned before that a big figure of the Blood Race wanted to see him …… This was a new mission given to him by the Blood Race? It’s quite possible! But how come he didn’t mention it at the Tarot meeting? Uh, focusing on the disciplinary action and having other leads, so he squashed the matter for now? Thoughtfully, Klein leaned forward and drew a piece of letter paper from the coffee table and took a fountain pen as Miss Messenger’s eight eyes watched.
He wasn’t curious about what Emlyn had to offer, because it was pretty obvious:
Since Ms. Sharon knew that Emlyn was looking for a member of the Rose School and consulted with a mutual friend, Detective Inspector Sherlock Moriarty, it meant that the person the Blood was seeking help from must be Ian, the black market arms dealer at the Bravehearts.
This also indirectly indicates that Emlyn in the previous commission, there are traces of Sharon or Maric, otherwise he could not have directly to an ordinary person to mention the School of Roses.
I don’t know enough about the Apothecary path to tell how Emlyn found out about the “ghosts” or “walkers”… …Klein teetered on his right foot, resting the letterhead on his lap, and scribbled with a pen:
”This should be a task given to Emlyn by the Blood Higher-ups, who loathe those members of the Rose School who believe in the ‘primordial moon’, and have relocated their anger to other factions of the Rose School ……”
Writing this, Klein paused and added a bit more:
”I suspect that the ‘Mother Tree of Desire’ has the intention of eroding the authority of the ‘Moon’ realm, but what is not understood is why the believers of the ‘Primordial Moon’ would want to join the Rose School, the relationship between this hidden existence and the ‘Mother Tree of Desire’ seems to be very complicated, there is hostility and cooperation, it is difficult to guess ……”
Putting down the pen and folding the letter paper, Klein looked at the messenger lady waiting beside him and laughed:
”How do you know I’m going to answer the letter?”
One of Renette Tignicole’s heads replied succinctly:
”The feeling ……”
Immediately afterward, the four blonde, red-eyed heads spoke in turn:
”You ……” “have been ……” “perky lately ……” “a little ……”
”Expressions ……” “are ……” “also ……” “richer ……” “Quite ……”
Klein smiled to himself as he took out the box attached to the gold-cased pocket watch and took a gold coin from it:
”Always wearing a thick mask is not conducive to physical and mental health, and after passing through the Gate of the Demigods, one has to pay more and more attention to this.”
Therefore, if he didn’t have to cover up and disguise himself, he reduced the number of times he used his “Joker” ability to control his expression.
Without another word, Renette Tignicole bit down on the gold coin and the reply letter, and disappeared into thin air.
Witnessing the departure of this messenger lady, Klein gently leaned back and muttered a few words to himself in his mind:
”I wonder if Miss Sharon and the others will use the Bloods to deal with the members of the Rose School in Berkland ……
”Miss Sharon’s current focus is mainly on promotion, so she may not necessarily get involved, but Maric is not so sure ……”
……
Emlyn changed out of his clerical robes of the Church of the Mother Earth Goddess, put on his black formal attire, put on his silk bowler hat, and walked out of the Church of the Harvest, getting into a rented carriage parked next to the street.
After ordering his destination, he casually cast his eyes out the window.
Just then, Emlyn felt something in his heart, and his body moved steeply, leaving his original position at a speed that could drag out a residual shadow and switching to the side.
Then, he saw a figure instantly protrude from the void across the room:
This was a young man whose jacket was unbuttoned, revealing a white shirt and black vest inside, his brown hair was slightly messy, as if it had not been properly combed, while his brown eyes were filled with a sense of repression, as if he was restraining some kind of impulse that was deeply hidden.
Glancing at the other man’s pale, corpse-like face, Emlyn lifted his chin slightly and smiled without any nervousness at all:
”You have finally come to me.”
”You’re not afraid that I’m a member of the Rose School, specifically coming to deal with you?” The young man’s figure was vaguely transparent.
Emlyn said with a “Hey”:
”You think that I would not be aware of the history of the Rose School and the defection of the Temperance Faction that happened before?
”Uh, what’s the name?”
”Marich.” The young man opened his mouth and responded, “Is this the information you received from the higher echelons of the Blood Clan?”
Emlyn froze for a moment and then tsked:
”You guys are smarter than I thought.”
He affirmed the other’s suspicions in this way.
Marich took a slow breath and leaned forward slightly:
”How did you find out we existed at Ian’s?”
Emlyn leaned back leisurely against the compartment wall and smiled:
”Humans have the flavor of humans, and spiteful spirits have the flavor of spiteful spirits.”
Maric was silent for a few seconds and turned:
”Is it true that you Bloods want to deal with the members of the Rose School in Berkland?”
”Important members.” Emlyn replied with emphasis.
”If that’s true, I can use myself as bait to help you fish out members of the Rose School, but I need a confirmation.” Maric rubbed his eyes and said bluntly, “I know you can’t make a decision, so first you go back and ask the higher-ups of the Blood Clan to get the necessary promises, and after that, you know where to find us.”
With that said, he handed out a pouch of papers he held in his hand:
”This is from Ian, initial feedback on tracking Ernest Boyar, multiple bounty hunters working together.”
Emlyn took the pouch and gave a rare serious nod:
”Good.”
