A+ A- Turn Off Light

Forsyth’s pupils dilated at once, as if to take in more of the light in order to get a good look at Hugh now.

At the same time, a flash of light erupted in front of her, several times brighter than the light from an old model camera, making the surrounding area a white blur.

Immediately afterward, her fingers slipped over one of the pages of “Lemanor’s Travel Notes,” and a black mist rose from the soles of her feet, enveloping her entire body.

This dense black fog quickly split into a palm-sized illusory bat, flying towards different locations in the underground hall.

This was the “Dark Wings” recorded by “Moon” in “Lemanor’s Travel Notes”!

Its original function was to increase speed, fly for a short time, and create a swarm of blood-sucking bats to attack the enemy, but Forsyth didn’t use it that way, and only used it as a “prop” for the juggling show.

After the illusory bats flew away, the spot where Foerth had just stood was already empty.

Her figure had somehow shifted to about ten meters away!

After subconsciously making an escape and self-preservation behavior, Foerth finally calmed down a bit and busily cast her gaze towards Hugh who appeared abnormal.

However, Hugh, who was reflected in her eyes, his blonde hair was only slightly messy, his face was slightly wheatish due to the long period of time running around outdoors, his expression was surprised with a little bit of bewilderment, and he seemed to be surprised at how his friend suddenly overreacted, and there was no trace of being affected by the ghost of the grudge spirit at all.

”What happened?” Hugh inquired, opening his mouth in a suspicious and guarded manner.

Forsyth narrowed his eyes and did not answer directly, flipping through “Lemanno’s Traveling Notes” as he asked rhetorically:

”Hugh, what is your real height now?”

Hugh replied with a seemingly dazed look:

  ”152, isn’t that right?”

Before she could say anything, Forsyth’s fingers had already slid over the symbols and magical markings on the page of notes in his hand.

Without a sound, a sacred light draped in flames fell from the heights of the underground hall.

It was bright and brilliant, enveloping Hugh in it at once and swinging outward in a circle of sunlight.

The blazing light stabbed into Folth’s eyes, causing her to see the entire hall collapse, the space around her shattering inch by inch like glass.

The feeling flickered, and Voorhees realized, slightly confused, that she was still standing in her original position, and had not escaped.

Was it just an illusion? She turned her head to the side in a panic, and saw Hugh looking out over the broken area near the heavy gate in all normalcy.

After a moment of deliberation, Voorhees opened his mouth and said:

”Hugh, what’s your true height now?”

Hugh glanced at her and said in a nonchalant manner:

”Don’t ask such a boring question!”

Whew, it’s true …… Forsyth sighed in relief and hurriedly described the encounter just now to Hugh by picking up the key points.

Hugh pondered for a few seconds and touched Foerth’s arm with his left hand that carried the horse lamp and said:

”Stand back a little distance first. Maybe the closer you get to that door, the easier it is to hallucinate.”

”Well, it’s possible!” Voorhees nodded approvingly and moved a few quick steps backward.

Then, she looked around the room again and said in a slightly puzzled manner:

”Why can’t we still find any grudge ghosts here?

”This kind of environment should be their favorite ah.”

Hugh was also surprised, and then did a closer look, finally landing his eyes on the ball of sunlight floating above Foerth’s head.

”Put it out to try.” She gave her suggestion.

Something dawned on Voorhees, and he immediately canceled the illumination of the ball of light.

Darkness surged noiselessly over and once more ruled this subterranean hall, with only the dim glow of the horse lamps small against it all.

Then two figures appeared in Forsyth’s “psychic vision”.

They were both near the bronze doors. One was a woman with coiled hair, wearing knightly pants and a fancy shirt for ease of movement, and the other was a man in silver and black armor, carrying a long sword that was about to rust off.

The former’s face was blurred, constantly going back and forth between that gate and the area where Voorhees and Hugh had arrived earlier, while the latter hovered near the gate, muttering something under his breath.

Were these the two ancient spirits? Forsyth touched Hugh with his elbow and pressed his voice:

  ”I saw the spirits.”

”I see them too, and they’re not hiding.” Hugh’s body bowed slightly and he took up a fighting stance.

Forsyth was busy touching her again:

”Don’t rush, we’re not sure it’s the target yet.”

She tried taking three steps forward, but the two blurrier figures didn’t even look at her.

Forsythe thought about it and suddenly spoke up:

”What are you doing, this lady?”

  – She had heard stories before within other occult circles about the possibility of communication between higher level spirit beings such as grudge spirits and spectral shadows.

But before the words left her mouth, a pang of regret came over her, for even if she did manage to communicate, she would not be able to accomplish her goal, and she could not persuade the other party to commit suicide and surrender the cursed objects and remnants of the ancient grudge spirits’ spirituality.

Just as Voorhees contemplated whether or not to attack directly, the lady in the fancy shirt and knight’s pants answered her question with little rise in her tone:

  ”I’m looking for my husband.

  ”He’s a guard here.”

How communicative. …… Forsyth pursued the question with some curiosity:

  ”Where has he gone?”

By this time, Hugh had leaned over as well, still looking on high alert.

The lady with the blurred figure responded stolidly:

”He was a guard here, and he told me that strange forces had penetrated behind the door and eroded his teammates, and he told me to take the messenger and get out of here as soon as possible.

”He said he would guard until I escaped safely, but I don’t want that, I want to leave with him …… After dispatching the messenger, I returned halfway to the underground to find him, and I can’t find him anyhow …… ”

With the sense of age of this castle beyond the current epoch, the last guards here can indeed diffuse into ancient grudges, ergo, this lady’s story touches me, I really can’t bear to make a move on her …… Forsyth’s thoughts turned, and she took a careful step, bypassing the female ancient grudge and arriving at the area near the bronze gates.

Neither she nor Hugh had had any more hallucinations along the way, which seemed to indicate that her previous encounter had been unconsciously made by the lady.

After not much distance from the knightly grudge wearing silver and black armor and carrying a long, corroded and rusty sword, Voorhees tried to speak again:

”This gentleman, what are you doing?”

The knightly grudge paused and buzzed out:

”I’m guarding this dark door, and I’m going to make sure my wife escapes to safety.

”If you can meet her, please tell her that her knights will fight for her until the end.”

Ah …… the gate of pitch black, this is clearly the gate of bronze …… Wait, what did he just say? He said he was guarding the gate to make sure his wife escaped safely? This, isn’t this the other half of the lady describing the prototype earlier? This was her husband? For a moment Voorhees was stunned, letting his eyes move back and forth between the two ancient spiteful spirits:

The lady in the fancy shirt and knight’s pants approached the bronze door step by step, then turned and returned to the center of the hall when she arrived, and so on, while the male in the silver and black armor, carrying a long sword of rotting rust, hovered by the door at all times, staggering from time to time, but never looking at each other.

Such a scene has been maintained for at least fifteen hundred years, if not longer …… Forsyth sighed silently and glanced sideways at Hugh, realizing that a mist had long since clouded his own best friend s eyes.

What an easily moved person …… Forsyth could not hold back and shouted at the female grudge:

”Look by the door, your husband has been there!”

The woman in the fancy shirt and knight’s pants slowed down, first sweeping Voorhees away, then turning her gaze to the side of the heavy gate.

Her dull eyes passed over the knight in the silver and black armor and fell behind the other.

”Why can’t I find him ……” The grumbling spirit repeated the words and the motions it had made earlier.

Forsyth, inexplicably saddened, was about to open his mouth and shout again when he saw the knight in silver and black armor turn his head to look at himself and Hugh, and buzzed a rumble and shouted:

  ”Who are you?”

Just as his voice had fallen, the female grieving spirit also once again turned her gaze to Hugh and Voorhees.

Foerth instantly felt his thoughts slow down, and a cloud of coldness seemed to rapidly take shape within his body, rippling out and freezing flesh, blood, and joints, while in her eyes, Hugh seemed to have suffered a similar encounter, and the horse lamps were dimmed around him.

It was at this moment that two lightning-like rays suddenly lit up within Hugh’s eyes.

The male spirit then let out a pained grunt, and his figure blurred for a moment.

Hugh instantly got rid of the “frozen” feeling he had just experienced, and threw the three-pronged thorn in his hand towards the female spirit.

At the tip of the three-pronged thorn, a little bit of illusory electric light kept jumping, and it directly hit the woman in the fancy shirt and knight’s pants.

  ”Spirit Whiplash.”

The female spiteful spirit screamed out, her figure blurring more and more.

Forsyth’s mind cleared, and his fingers slid over the “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” that he had opened earlier.

The shadows around him suddenly came to life and coalesced into a dark chain, restraining the knight’s spirit in place and sealing its “mouth”.

  ”Abyssal Shackle”!

At the same time, Hugh rushed out, reflecting the female spirit’s figure in his eyes, and carrying an illusory hot iron in his hand, he stamped on his target.

With her pestering the female spirit, Forsyth’s movements became more and more relaxed.

She flipped through the pages of “Lemanor’s Traveling Notebook”, her fingers slipping through one after another.

A silver-white lightning bolt with open branches fell out of thin air, striking the body of the knight’s spirit first and then later, turning it into a purgatory of lightning.

In the end, a pillar of bright and pure light entwined with sacred flames flashed out and enveloped the Knight Spiteful Spirit, purifying it completely.

Seeing that one enemy had been dealt with, Voorhees immediately turned to deal with the female spirit with Hugh.

She did not skimp on the ability of the “Lemanor’s Travel Notes”, skillfully combining the appropriate parts, with the help of Hugh’s pull, sometimes restricting, sometimes attacking, it did not take long to solve the target.

As everything became silent, Voorhees took a breath and gazed at the battlefield with a look of disbelief:

  ”It’s over just like that?”

She had originally thought that the two Ancient Grievances had special abilities and higher levels, and that it would be quite tough for quasi-strong people who weren’t Sequence 5 to cope with them, but it turned out that things went exceptionally smoothly.

This made her truly realize that the “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” was indeed a divine weapon, and she also became more and more eager for the next Sequence “Records Officer”.

Hugh was also a bit surprised and thought for a few seconds:

”No wonder someone told me that under the Demigods, the number of Extraordinary Persons, their cooperation with each other and the degree of application of their abilities are more important than the level of the sequence.”

Just as she finished her sentence, the sound of banging and knocking suddenly echoed in her ears.

This broke the silence of the underground hall, which came from behind that bronze gate.
