Part 6 Light Excluder Chapter 116 Light
For an extraordinary person at the demigod level, because the soul was strong and had a qualitative change, even if they had died, the spirit could remain for a period of time unless the enemy deliberately destroyed it, and if this High Sequencer who had died still had a strong longing for certain things or harbored emotions that could not be let go of in himself, then his residual will would be sustained for even longer to the point that it could slowly assimilate the surrounding area, allowing it to intermingle with the spirit world or even the Underworld, helping to the transformation of the self into an evil spirit.
So, even though Colin Iliad’s aura had faded, he, who was wearing tattered silver armor and sitting on the uppermost step of the ancient god’s dais, heard Derek’s low cry, and turned his head sideways to look at the demi-god, who had not yet truly come of age, and said with a smile:
”Compared to one of the elders in the past, it is a blessing that Lovia and I can die here.”
Hearing these words, Derek opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but felt something pressing down on his heart and blocking his throat.
Not far away, Klein lifted his Star Staff and tried to recreate Will Onsettin’s Reboot in order to save Colin Iliad, but the ability he managed to use after failing several times in a row didn’t reverse the situation, and seemed to be significantly less effective than the original version, which involved the “Reboot”. The original version, and the “uniqueness” involved – Amon is physically present.
He’s already dead and can’t even be mystified, so he can only be considered as an Evil Spirit, but there are almost no Evil Spirits that can maintain their humanity, not even the “Dark Angel” Saslir……. The only exception is the “Red Angel”! The only exceptions are the three “Red Angels” Medici, but that was also after leaving the “territory” and going to Banshee Harbor. …… The chief doesn’t seem to be willing to go down this path… …For the residents of Silver City, turning into an evil spirit is an unquestionable curse …… Klein sighed darkly and turned his gaze elsewhere, observing the faded shadows of the Giant King’s palace.
Colin Iliad examined Derek’s face and spoke with a sigh:
”When you return this time, you will be a member of the ‘Council of Six’.
”I know that this is a very heavy responsibility relative to your age, but everyone in Silver City must be ready at all times to shoulder the fate of everyone.”
Derek nodded vigorously with a nasal voice:
”Yes, Your Chief Excellency!”
Colin Iliad said with a kind smile:
”Don’t worry about being misunderstood by them, I will tell you a hidden matter, currently, in the entire Silver City, only Weet and I know about it.
”When you go back, immediately repeat this matter in front of Weet, he will thus understand that the deaths of Lovia and I have nothing to do with you, otherwise, it would be impossible for you to know this hidden secret from my mouth.”
Saying this, Colin Iliad looked up at Germaine Sparrow and nodded gently:
”As of today, everyone in Silver City is free to proselytize that Mr. ‘Fool’.”
Derek wasn’t excited at all, and just nodded heavily to show that he knew.
Colin Iliad then retracted his gaze, his face, which was permeated with a clear sense of exhaustion, took on an additional layer of solemnity and a hint of bitterness:
”That hidden secret is related to our Silver City’s second divine seal.
”It is called ‘The Gift of the Earth’.”
Derek wiped his eyes with his arm, listening intently to the Chief’s account.
Colin Iliad sighed and continued:
”It is because of it that the area around Silver City is able to grow Blackface Grass, keeping us from sinking completely in the Deep Dark Age ……”
Derek’s pupils dilated slightly at once, the sadness in his heart easing a bit.
He remembered very clearly that the discovery of blackface grass was regarded as a key turning point in Silver City’s history in the general studies textbook, arguing that without this safe and harmless staple, Silver City might have long since turned into a paradise for monsters.
In this moment, Derek thought of many things, and finally understood why the mushrooms given by Mr. “World” had undergone a huge mutation in Silver City, which was not the same as the original description.
Colin Iliad’s gaze swept across his face and his voice suddenly became low:
”It is also because of it that we carry the fate of being cursed, and only those who are killed by their immediate family members will not turn into terrible evil spirits.
”‘Abundance’, comes with a price.”
Derek’s expression froze for a moment.
The regicide of both parents was a wound in his heart that could never be healed, and he had always blamed the corresponding curse on this god-forsaken earth, but now, the Chief told him that the truth was not like that, and that the curse came from the food they depended on!
The white-haired and weary Colin Iliad’s eyes drifted for a moment, as if he too remembered his father, mother, brother, sister, eldest son, youngest son, daughter, and eldest grandson, who had been slain by his own hand.
His voice drifted as a result:
”Lovia once said that after moving away from Silver City, one of the war dead did not turn into an evil spirit.
”I did not tell her at the time that this was the truth, for the ‘Gift of the Earth’ covers a wide area, and the vast majority of those who will die will not be able to leave the appropriate area in time.
”This is a secret that only every Chief can master, and I have explored and fought hard in the hope that those who come after me won’t have to endure this pain.”
This Silver City Chief, who was showing his obvious old age, exhaled slowly, and without giving Derek a chance to promise, he seemed to have remembered something and said:
”Also, the ‘Redemption Rose’ situation recorded within that palace cannot be fully trusted.”
Hmm? Klein stopped his movements of examining his surroundings, and Derek revealed a slightly confused expression.
Colin Iliad added in a deep voice:
”The ‘Mother Goddess of Earth’ cannot be the Giant Queen Omibella.
”Omibella has long since died, and k’s corpse is in Silver City, the ‘Gift of the Earth’ ……”
This …… Klein heard his pupils dilate violently, and a chill rose behind him.
The real queen of the giants died long ago in Silver City, turned into a seal, then who is the current “mother goddess of the earth”?
……
Inside the dark “country” filled with moon flowers and night herbs, the dusk giant’s long sword slashed against the heavy black scythe and froze in mid-air.
In the darkness that had been mostly destroyed by the previous fierce divine battle, time seemed to have stood still, and both the dusk-bathed giant clad in decrepit armor and the humanoid demonic wolf wearing a starry dress with six arms seemed to have become a part of the oil painting, standing in place and maintaining the same posture they had had just a few moments ago.
However, there was a dark brown wooden staff inserted in the position of the dusky giant’s undershirt, which was frantically drawing the life of the deity, and would drag the other party back to the earth, back to its mother’s embrace.
This dark brown wooden staff was held in the hands of that giant-like, plump lady, and formed a late autumn picture with the flowers, grass and mushrooms that were constantly wilting and fading on k.
The dusky giant slowly turned his head to look at the lady holding the illusory baby in one hand, and spoke out in pain:
”Leigh, Leigh, Silk?”
At that moment, the “Demon Wolf” wearing a starry dress and having a female human head gave a low laugh, letting the bird-shaped gold jewelry in her hand fly out on its own, and accurately inserted it into the gap of the Dusk Giant’s face armor, and then, she threw the “Scarlet Moon” held by her other two hands to the voluptuous lady. Then, K threw the “Crimson Moon” held in his other two hands to the plump lady.
In the next second, part of the Dusk Giant’s body collapsed, and a mass of orange-red twilight pierced through the serene darkness and fell back to the real world.
Some of them landed on the battlefield, killing countless soldiers, some of them crushed mountains, creating a lake that could age all living beings, some of them merged with some lucky creatures, turning them into crazy and powerful monsters, and some of them enveloped the Dusk Giant’s hall outside of St. Miron, extinguishing the orange-red color that had solidified there… …
Outside the Church of Tranquility in the Amanda Mountains, the mythological creatures such as the “Sins of the Gods” Seara, who were helping Fusak and the Angels of Intis to lay siege to the place, seemed to have sensed something and stopped fighting at the same time.
On the dark trees with arms, a black and white eyeball covered with blood rolled for a while, and then “God’s Sins” Seara immediately stepped into the void and fled into the spirit world.
On the outskirts of Beckland, inside a small church that no one noticed.
A pious priest wearing simple white robes and a light golden beard opened his eyes, revealing childlike clarity and innocence.
k calmly took out a bottle of golden-colored magic potion from his bosom, unscrewed the cap, and poured the liquid inside into his mouth.
……
The war ended just like that.
If she hadn’t seen and felt it with her own eyes, Audrey would never have believed that the war had ended just like that.
When the deep black night swallowed the orange red dusk and receded on its own, the “Silver Knight” in front of her seemed to have suffered a heavy psychological blow, even if it had recovered, it did not attack the enemy again, and retreated in a slightly lousy and confused manner.
Like the “Silver Knight”, the angels and saints within the allied forces of Fusak and Intis fled one after another, and the army with the extraordinary as its backbone collapsed with difficulty.
However, the demigods, low and mid-ranking extraordinarys, and ordinary soldiers on Rune’s side didn’t try to pursue, as they were equally confused, disoriented, and bewildered.
Audrey walked back into the city and saw the surviving citizens of Berkland walking out one by one from their homes, from shelters, and from other places where they could hide themselves, staring dumbfounded at the pristine forest-like scene.
They didn’t cheer, didn’t shout, and didn’t curse and vent, their expressions were numb and their gazes were blank, wondering why the disaster had ended so suddenly.
There was no lack of people who had once received relief at the charity fund, no lack of faces Audrey found familiar, but their state was not much different compared to when they had lined up for food before.
Audrey scrutinized such scenes in silence all the way back to Queens, back inside her family’s villa.
She saw her father, mother, eldest brother, butler, manservant, and maid all looking out the window in unusual confusion, with expressions identical to those of the citizens on the street.
For some reason, a phrase suddenly flashed within Audrey’s mind:
Die without knowing for whom, live without knowing why.
……
A reddish-orange twilight calmed the lightning-frequent storms and plunged into a deep blue ocean with no visible bottom, nearly covering the Dawn.
”The Queen of Mystery, Bernadette, had used her other Class 0 seal just in time to save the ship from the terrible disaster.
Her brow furrowed slightly, as if she had a premonition, but then she relaxed and let the “Dawn” continue to travel in the non-safe channel, fighting against the wind, huge waves, lightning, sea monsters and other various dangers.
In the darkness, Bernadette’s eyes seemed to pierce through the obstacles and see the light she wanted to chase.
Even if there were more obstacles, she would not stop approaching.
……
Inside the Giant King’s residence, on the steps sprinkled with orange-red light.
Colin Iliad, who had finished telling the hidden secrets, said to Derek:
”Go open that door, I want to see what the sunlight looks like outside ……”
”Uh-huh!” Derek’s eyes reddened once more, and he pursed his lips tightly as he stood up.
He lowered the huge hammer in his hand and, with Klein’s encouraging gaze, walked sedately around the iron black throne to the large gray and blue door depicting a dusk scene.
Derek stared for a second, bent his back, extended his hands, and pressed them to either side of the doorway.
Then he bulged his muscles and pushed.
At this moment, it was as if he saw his father and mother, his dead comrades such as Joshua and Antirna, Lovia in her purple-striped black robes and Colin Iliad with his gray hair.
They stood beside him and simultaneously pressed their hands against the door, pushing against the gray-blue door with him.
A droplet of water slid down Derek’s face and a heavy zinging sound rang in his ears.
A crack appeared with it, allowing golden sunlight to shine inside.
The slit grew wider and wider, and a sea with a golden glow gradually appeared in Derek’s eyes, in Colin Iliad’s eyes.
Seeing such a picture, bathing in the warm sunshine, the body a little “evaporated” Colin Iliad’s mouth corners slightly moved, revealing a smile that does not contain the slightest hint of gloom and a vague yearning.
Light is the meaning of everything.
