Part 6 The Light Evershifter Chapter 63 The Eternal Mist
Three thousand seven hundred and twenty two years …… was indeed sent over here when the ancient Sun God was still alive …… Klein had Silver City holding on to the darkness for more than two thousand years as a reference, and easily corroborated the words of High Priest Nim of Moon City.
He nodded gently and opened his mouth to ask:
”You are guarding this mist to prevent it from mutating?”
Wrapped in a dark brown animal skin, High Priest Nim of Moon City shook his head:
”The oracle given to us by the Lord is to watch over it daily and watch out for anyone coming out of the mist.”
Out of the mist …… Ancient Sun God foresaw that a person would come out of this mist? If the fog, or the other side of the fog, is really the “Western Continent”, does this indicate that there may be life and civilization inside? Klein felt an indescribable stirring in his heart, but was also deeply aware of a fact:
Amon’s father, the second-generation Creator, was surprisingly unable to open this gray mist, and needed to send someone here to watch over it!
Is there a specific way to get through this invisible barrier? Well, Mr. Hanged Man mentioned it, and Queen of the Scourge of Heaven Gohinam said it might require a spell or a password, and that assumes that the Western Continent has reappeared! …… Klein looked at the High Priest of Moon City, who had a distinctive furrow in his face, and said without moving his face:
”I think they have already introduced me to you, I am a missionary who came to this land to spread the light of the Lord.”
Nim, the High Priest of the Moon City, kept his composure and looked at Klein with gray eyes that were the same color as his long hair and said:
”Your Excellency, which being is the Lord you believe in?”
Klein instinctively wanted to answer directly, but considering his previously pre-determined status as a “missionary”, he held back his shame and used his “clown” ability to control the muscles on his face, revealing a slightly fervent expression:
”Allow me to introduce you to my Lord, the savior of this land, the great Mr. “The Fool” …….”
”The Fool”…… Moon City High Priest Nim and Adar and the others did not expect to hear such a word, and for a moment thought it strange, and for an inexplicable moment felt as if it hid an infinite amount of philosophy.
In the end, their attention was focused on the depiction:
”The savior of this land.”
Nim couldn’t help but glance sideways at Adar and the others, surveying their glowing faces.
As a Sequence 4 demigod, he was well aware that this was a sign that the toxins and contamination that had collected in his body had been purified, and that the members of the hunting squad had been well healed, and if he hadn’t watched the young men grow up and remembered what they had looked like before they underwent the alienation, he certainly wouldn’t dare to confirm that these were the inhabitants of Moon City now.
Seeing the High Priest looking over, Adar immediately said with slight excitement:
”His Excellency Sparrow prayed to come to the gods to save us.”
”Yes, we saw the light! We felt the warmth!” Sin, who had no nose, added right after her.
After the baptism just now, she had unconsciously developed a certain amount of faith in the Lord that Germaine Sparrow spoke of.
This being was more like a deity than the Creator who would never answer prayers and ignored the suffering encounters of Moon City!
Ruth and the other member of the hunting squad who had returned to Moon City to inform the High Priest looked greedily at their previous companions, envious and yearning for the new life they had been given.
High Priest Nim withdrew his gaze and looked back at Germaine Sparrow Road, who wore strange clothing and a strange hat:
”The great Mr. ‘Fool’ is a deity outside of this world, no, this cursed earth?”
Klein nodded solemnly and slowly:
”Yes.”
”And what about …… the great Sun God, the Lord of all creation?” Nim hesitated for a moment, but asked the question that his heart longed to know the most.
Klein changed to a godly tone and said:
”The kings betrayed that being, and blood, anger, filth, and shadows began to flow across this land, and a great catastrophe opened as a result.”
Nim’s pupils dilated slightly, as if to absorb more light to see the world before him.
With difficulty, and trying his best to suppress what was going on, he opened his mouth to ask:
”You mean that the Lord therefore, therefore fell?”
”Not only did he fall, but the flesh and blood was shared by the betrayers, and this land is cursed because of it.” Klein spoke boldly on the strength of being in the Godforsaken Land.
He didn’t deliberately differentiate between the Amon brothers and the other six Angel Kings, intending to make the residents of Moon City think that all the Angel Kings were betrayers, so that in the future, they wouldn’t be fooled by Amon.
–The trekking and various experiments in the past half a year convinced Klein that the Godforsaken Land was really sealed, or rather, cut off from the outside world in every aspect, and the only connecting point was either the exit of the “Court of Giants” or something on the level of the Fortress of Sources. Therefore, when Klein used the “Star Staff” here, he could only transfer within, and could not go to the scene of the outside world that he had outlined in his mind.
In addition, the “Box of the Old Days”, even the image of the historical orifice was suppressed, isolated, and as soon as Klein succeeded in summoning it, the projection was immediately swallowed up by the environment, and could not be used at all.
This makes him suspect that the third level of the “Box of the Old Days” is a bit dangerous even for the true gods and the “real creators”.
Hearing Gelman Sparrow’s words, High Priest Nim of Moon City’s body swayed slightly, and his furrowed face instantly turned gray.
The faces of the Extraordinary Persons behind him all appeared to change as well, as if they had suffered an extremely severe blow, and some of them even directly showed signs of losing control.
Seeing this, Klein once again probed his hand and dragged out the “life cane” from the void, letting it fly out under the impetus of the air and accurately touching the target.
The extraordinary person’s signs of loss of control immediately disappeared, and his forehead was drenched in sweat, as if he had just had a serious illness.
As Klein lifted his hold on the historical projection, the “Life Cane” quickly faded away, and the extraordinary people of Moon City finally broke away from the “bad news” just now, some were full of skepticism and did not want to believe it, some cried in a low voice, and some cast their confused gazes on Germaine Sparrow, as if this is the last hope.
High Priest Nim had closed his eyes at some point, and after two or three seconds, he reopened them and looked at Germaine Sparrow and said:
”Is there anything else you wish to ask?”
In this less than a minute, his entire person seemed to have aged ten or twenty years at once, his body was permeated with a feeling of decay and decadence, but it was not complete despair, as if the trees were rotting away, but were beginning to nurture new hope for new life.
Klein half-turned his body and pointed to the solidified gray mist with the horse lamp he carried in his hand:
”Since when have you tried to open this barrier? What have you gained?”
High Priest Nim said frankly:
”At first it was the oracle of the Lord,k that told us to try to find a way to pass through this mist while we watched over it.
”After the earth was cursed, we made this our main direction in order to find hope, but there was never any substantial gain, no matter what we used, this solidified mist did not respond ……”
Speaking of this, Nim hesitated for a moment and said:
”Not completely unresponsive, but not the response we wanted.”
Klein saw hope for a moment, and keeping his speech normal, he opened his mouth to ask:
”What kind of reaction?”
Seeing that the High Priest hesitated a bit and didn’t answer immediately, Sin took the initiative and said:
”High Priestess, His Excellency Sparrow has just separated part of the mist, deeper than what we have done in the past two or three thousand years!”
Nim couldn’t help but gaze deeply at Germaine Sparrow again before saying:
”More than seventeen hundred and thirty years ago, the High Priest at the time had an inspiration in front of the brutal fact that the Moon City had not gained anything in nearly two thousand years of attempts.
”He felt that this mist could not be treated purely as a barrier that needed to be opened a seal that needed to be broken, but as a great being to be treated.
”He devised honorific names, prayers and corresponding symbols for this mist, where he performed ceremony after ceremony, trying to communicate, trying to pray.”
…… This is really a thought process that no normal person would ever think of …… I didn’t think of it just now …… Sure enough, after so many years, Moon City must have produced quite a few people with peculiar thinking as well …… Three thousand years of time is not for nothing …… Klein felt a wave of emotion within his heart and nodded slightly:
”There was feedback afterward?”
Nim replied in the affirmative with a nasal voice and continued:
”At one point, that high priest modified the first line of the honorific name to read ‘the everlasting mist ……’, and then, during the next ritual, he vaguely heard a sound coming from deep within the mist during the epilogue section, but unfortunately. how it could not be heard clearly enough to try to decipher the exact meaning.
”We have performed uncountable rituals since that time until now, and have found that not every time there is a response, and even when there is a response, it may not be as timely, and patience is required.”
Klein asked as his mind raced with thoughts:
”About how many times will it work?”
”There is no pattern, sometimes it works once, sometimes there may not be feedback for a month.” High Priest Nim sighed and said, “We’ve made quite a few improvements, but none of them were useful.”
”Did you guys hear what the voices were saying afterward?” Klein asked, turning to the question.
”No. Maybe we weren’t high enough in the sequence to be strong enough.” Nim shook his head.
If that’s the reason, then I can try …… Klein deliberated for a few seconds and politely requested:
”Can you perform the correct ritual again? I’d like to hear the voices.”
Such politeness prevented Nim from refusing, or daring to refuse.
He hesitated and said:
”Yes, but many of the materials are in Moon City, and you will need to wait a while.”
Klein thought for a moment and opened his mouth to ask:
”Have you ever used those materials?”
”Used them.” Nim said with slight confusion.
Klein nodded indifferently and said:
”Then hold it straight, tell me when I last used those materials and where in the neighborhood.”
