Part 6 The Light-Exporter Chapter 109 – The Sleeping Place
A battlefield near the capital of Rumburg.
A ball of condensed crimson fireballs led by a flame-throwing lance crossed the place full of corpses, weapons, blood and smoke, and landed in the area where improvised fortifications were constructed, creating a series of explosions.
Watching the smoke rise and the fire fill the area, Anderson slapped the dust off his hands and smiled sideways at the deputy beside him:
”I don t know how much longer …… you guys have any words you want to stay? I can help with the suicide note.”
He saw, as he had hoped, the angry eyes of the “soldiers” around him, who were so united in their thoughts.
However, the “soldiers” did not make a move, their gazes settled down one after another, and they moved elsewhere.
”I can’t believe you didn’t respond to my provocation.” Anderson raised his eyebrows and said, “This shows that you are planning a conspiracy.”
Without waiting for the adjutant and the “soldiers” to respond, the hunter revealed a smile and continued:
”You are planning to surrender, right? You want to protect your family and friends?”
Seeing a gaze brush over, Anderson tsked and shook his head:
”None of you have been extraordinary for a long time, and it is only through the outbreak of wars where you can harvest the main materials of magic potions from your enemies that you can successively become ‘hunters’, ‘provocateurs’, ‘Arsonist’, but in terms of intrigue, it was still too juvenile.
”I’m curious, why don’t you guys try to convince me to surrender together? I don’t think I usually come across as that determined, and I’m not a follower of the ‘God of Knowledge and Wisdom’.”
At this point, Anderson glanced thoughtfully at his adjutant:
”Is it that those higher-ups on the other side were completely enraged by me and gave orders not to accept my surrender?”
That adjutant was silent for a few seconds and said:
”You know all that, why do you still ask?”
Brushing their hands together, the nearby soldiers all raised their right hands and aimed their palms at Anderson in what appeared to be an extremely taciturn manner.
”If I don’t ask, how can I be sure that everyone is thinking the same thing?” Anderson laughed without being flustered at all.
He rubbed his stomach with his left hand and thrust his right palm into his coat pocket, not knowing what he was fumbling for.
At this time, the round of sun high in the sky suddenly swelled and became extremely huge, and the blazing golden sunlight shone so brightly that Anderson and the others were completely unable to open their eyes, making it difficult for them to rotate their extra thoughts.
Immediately after that, an illusory high tower protruded out, each of its floors consisted of thick books, each of which had a brass-colored eye, and the higher the floor, the deeper and darker it became, the more it was filled with the aura of madness, destruction, ominousness, and catastrophe.
The tower extended into the sky, as if it had encircled the entire world within itself, including the enormous sun.
……
Berkland, inside the luxurious villa of the Audra family.
All the Bloods in this metropolis had gathered here to prepare for the outcome of the upcoming war.
Emlyn White, who had become an Earl, stood by the window with his hands in his pockets, bathed in the light of dusk intertwined with night, and watched as his fellow clansmen discussed current events in a slightly uneasy manner.
Suddenly, inspiration struck him and he cast his eyes out of the window.
Inside the garden, clumps of yellowed weeds recolored with green and blue and grew rapidly, not taking long to reach a man’s height.
Elsewhere in the city, some of the street trees that had not been affected in the previous bombardment were frantically drawing nutrients from who knows where, leaping up section after section, soon growing to dozens of meters tall, with thick branches and umbrella-like leaves.
This giant tree was connected to each other, half-shadowing the sky of Berkland.
Many buildings were crushed as a result, or suffered entanglements of branches and vines that seemed to have been abandoned for dozens or hundreds of years.
In a matter of seven or eight seconds, much of Berkland was transformed into primeval forest.
……
After passing through the open door and entering the darkness of the Giant King’s residence, Klein immediately noticed the “Silver Knight” puppet in front of him, the “Star Staff” in his right hand, and the “Creeping Hunger” in his left palm. “They had not changed for the time being.
For the time being, there was no mutation in them, and the corresponding “Spirit Thread” showed no signs of degeneration.
After confirming the situation, Klein turned his gaze to the surroundings and examined the environment.
This place was drowned by a dense and substantial darkness, and it was impossible to see anything beyond five meters, while the ground was a block of gray stone tiles solidified in a dusk-like state, revealing no special features of the transcendental level.
Thinking about it, the corners of his mouth turned up as Klein poked his hand into the void and grasped it, trying to summon angels here and there.
In the next second, he laughed out loud as a clear sense was lost between himself and the historical mists.
This was the reason why the historical pore image he had summoned earlier had lost its connection when it entered this area.
Laughing, Klein jerked his body around and walked towards the same place he had entered before.
”Se, Mr. Sparrow, what are you doing?” Derek, who was also scrutinizing what restrictions he had been subjected to, asked in slight consternation.
Klein replied with a big smile:
”Now is not the proper time to explore this place, I plan to come back in later.”
”You intend to summon a Sequence 4 level historical projection and try to see if there will be corruption and betrayal after bringing it in?” Colin Iliad spoke thoughtfully.
Klein spread his left palm and said:
”No one says that if you come in you can’t go out, and if you go out you can’t come back in.”
Although Mr. World’s words seemed a bit strange in this kind of scene, Derek still felt that it made sense, because Silver City did the same thing when it explored the surrounding area, through “going in” and “coming out” again and again, through “going in” and “coming out” again and again, through “going in” and “coming out” again and again, through “going in” and “coming out” again and again. By “going in” and “coming out” again and again, and by trying again and again, they gradually accumulated information and details, and finally solved the problem.
Lovia didn’t say anything, nor did she object, in her opinion, it was undoubtedly a good thing to make more preparations.
In a quest that concerned the future of Silver City, there was absolutely no room for haste.
After walking back a few steps, Klein suddenly stopped and laughed out loud:
”It seems like the owner of this place doesn’t want us to leave.”
The little shimmering light representing the gate had been swallowed by the deep gloom and disappeared.
Colin Iliad looked around and said:
”We can only go forward.”
Seeing the Chief and Mr. World turn at the same time, Derek took a breath and raised his left hand, causing it to blossom into a circle of golden light that illuminated the surrounding gloom.
A giant pillar, the top of which could not be seen, and which five or six men could not hold, was then partially revealed, partially outlined, and partially hidden in the depths, hidden from view.
Derek withdrew his gaze and prepared to move forward with Mr. World and the Chief.
Just then, out of the corner of his eye, he failed to see another familiar figure.
Derek’s pupils suddenly dilated, and then, not too swiftly, he turned his head sideways to look for Elder Lovia, who had been standing beside him just a moment ago.
This demigod who believed in the “True Creator” had disappeared! She had disappeared without a sound!
Derek’s abnormality was detected by Klein and Colin Iliad, who simultaneously turned their eyes to that place, and found that Lovia, dressed in a black robe with purple stripes, had disappeared without any movement, as if she had evaporated out of thin air.
With the spiritual intuition of a “soothsayer” and the ability of a “demon hunter” to scout the environment, at a distance of just a few meters, they were unable to detect when Lovia disappeared, and in what way she disappeared.
The curve of Klein’s mouth turned up a little more, and without hesitation, he turned his mind, letting his spirit body enter the gray fog, and combined with the crimson phantom in the position of the “Fool”.
Immediately after that, he turned his gaze to the crimson star symbolizing the “sun”, hoping to find clues through his “true vision”.
However, everything was still obscured by the darkness, and nothing appeared, just as Klein had predicted before entering the Giant King’s palace.
Not being able to think too much, Klein immediately returned to the real world.
In this three to two second interval, only Derek and the “Silver Knight” secret puppet were left beside him.
The Silver City Chief in silver armor had also disappeared!
”What just happened?” Klein asked with a warm smile.
Derek gave him a stunned, confused and rather alarmed look:
”Didn’t you see it?”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the shadow beneath Derek suddenly came to life, extending sharply upward to encompass him and the sunlight he emanated.
Once the shadow completely covered Derek, it merged with the surrounding gloom, never to be separated again.
Klein had brought up his black cane, intending to stop the mutation, but in the end, he did nothing but watch with a wide grin on his face.
After a few seconds, immersed in the deep gloom, he noticed that his body was darkening and fading, as if it was melting into the environment.
Again, Klein did not do anything to save himself, watching with the corners of his mouth turned up and his head bobbing slightly.
After his figure had completely disappeared, there was an instant change in his vision:
The gloom was gone, and the gray stone tiles, the surrounding walls, and the massive pillars were clearly visible, clouding them with a shadow that wasn’t too thick or too thin;
Outside the windows, there was no sun, no moon, and no stars, but a pale light poured in, making the entire palace look eerie, bleak, and cold;
In the deepest part of the palace stood a very pale shadow, as if a curtain;
The previously unseen Lovia, Colin Iliad, and Derek stood not far away, cautiously and carefully observing their surroundings, as if they had come to another world.
”Unfortunately, my secret puppet can’t enter.” Klein raised the “Star Staff” in his hand and said to Derek and the others with a smile.
His couldn’t-care-less attitude and the Chief’s calm and steady behavior allowed Derek to quickly calm down and stop being so shocked and panicked.
Colin Iliad nodded slightly and was about to voice his guess when he suddenly felt something in his heart and turned his head to look at the deepest part of the palace.
Klein, Derek and Lovia made similar movements in slight succession.
In the deepest part of the palace, the very light layer of shadows disintegrated and disappeared, revealing a layer of steps belonging to the giant and an iron black throne at the top of the steps.
On top of the throne, there was a man with black hair and shoulders, slightly curled, his eyes were covered with shadows, his specific appearance was unusually blurred, making it impossible to see clearly, behind his back, layer after layer of false black feathers fell down, covering most of his body, and his robes were made of a deep black base, entwined with silver silk threads, inscribed with complex patterns, and hung with gorgeous accessories.
At this moment, the man’s left elbow was propped up on the armrest, his palm resting on the side of his face, and he seemed to be in deep sleep.
