Part 6 The Light-Exporter Chapter 89 – Inheritance
Hearing Jiadelia’s words, the “Mystic Queen” Bernadette looked at her in silence for a few seconds before saying:
”This is your choice and your freedom.”
Without budging, Gadelia locked eyes with the Queen in front of her for a while before pursing her lips and saying:
”I know that you must have destroyed all the clues to deny me the chance to follow your footsteps ……
”For you, this is the end of all pasts, returned or not.”
Bernadette, whose chestnut-colored hair was casually draped, did not speak, remaining silent, as if confirming the “General above the Stars”‘s suspicions in this way.
Seeing this, Gadelia smiled bitterly and said:
”I will no longer say that if you do not return in half a year or a year, I will use all means to find you, I only want to ask you to remember to recite the honorable name of Mr. ‘Fool’ when you are in the greatest danger.”
She frankly uttered that title.
”Queen of Mystery” Bernadette said with a slow nod:
”I’ll keep that in mind.”
Gadelia whirled around and spread a smile, her eyes misting over as she said:
”What items and things do you have for me?”
Bernadette flipped her palm and took out an item from somewhere.
The item was an overall golden color, like a shrunken kettle, its surface covered with mysterious and complex symbols, with a wick sticking out of the mouth of the kettle.
”It’s called the ‘Wishing Divine Lamp’, number ‘0-05’, the earliest it may have come from the First Era, and even the True Gods are unable to shatter it. Normally, it would not do any harm or function at all, but it will constantly induce you to rub the surface and summon that lamp god through dreams and illusions and the like.” “Mystic Queen” Bernadette briefly described the origin and function of the item in her hand, “The Lamp God claims to be eternal, and can grant you any ten wishes, but this is often accomplished in an extremely twisted manner, or with extremely horrific consequences, and my father has said that the bearer can circumvent the hazards of the first two wishes bring harm, but never a third.”
Saying this, Bernadette emphasized one more time:
”Absolutely not!”
”Sounds easy enough to circumvent ……,” said Gadelia with a turn of thought, “You make two wishes and then give them to me, and I’ll make two more, and then give them to Frank, Heath, and others in turn, and that will accomplish a great deal. ”
She was just using Frank as an example, not even trying to expose the guy to something so dangerous.
Bernadette shook her head imperceptibly as she held the Wishing Lamp:
”The holder and the possessor are not the same, before my death, even if you get the ‘Wishing Lamp’, you are still only the possessor, the first wish you make will be recorded as my third wish and your first wish at the same time.
”Also, while we can circumvent the damage attached to wishing with words and preparations, that doesn’t mean that the Lamp God is unintelligent, quite the contrary, k is very intelligent, very cunning, and has a strong sense of autonomy.”
Gadelia let out a “hmmm”:
”And does k have wishes that cannot be granted?”
”Not at the moment, but if it involves the True God level, the wish will be twisted beyond your imagination, simply put, if you wish to become a True God of Sequence 0, then your body and soul will be fused with the Evil God of unknown origin, and remember, the requirement of the God of Lights is that the wish has to be succinct, or else k will reject it and treat it as if you have already finished granting a wish. ” “Mystic Queen” Bernadette explained.
With that said, she had her invisible servant take the dreaded seal of “0-05” and fly it towards “Star General” Gloria.
When Gloria reached out to catch the “Wishing Lamp”, Bernadette continued:
”If you dreamed of the lamp god and were compelled by k to make a wish, it means that I can no longer return, and next, you are its holder. I would like your first wish to be to get back all the items Bernadette Gustave carried before she sailed, including her own extraordinary properties, and, well, it would be wise to add a specific date when making the wish.”
Gadelia looked down at the golden lamp and blurted out:
”Can I wish for your resurrection?”
”Queen of Mysteries,” Bernadette said after a few more seconds of silence:
”A resurrected me might just be a monster.
”If you really want to do that, you can ask that Mr. ‘Fool’ for his opinion.”
Kadriya nodded slightly:
”Good.”
”That’s the items I’ve given you and what I want to account for, all the rest I’ll leave to Elemental Dawn, they’ll have a new leader and won’t disintegrate because of the disappearance of one man.” Without another word, Bernadette stated that this was the main reason she had summoned Kadriya to the Emerald City.
–The “Wishing Lamp” was of such a high level that it could not be delivered by messenger.
Without waiting for a response from Katriya, the “Mysterious Queen’s” expression suddenly softened a bit:
”Haven’t you always wanted to share with me the things that have happened to you over the years?”
”Star Above General,” Gadelia nodded her head with a “hmmm” after being stunned for a moment:
”Right.”
She whirled around and walked over to the Queen, pulling a chair over and sitting down, facing the azure sea just beyond the emerald railing.
Bernadette sat down next to her and listened as she told of her encounters since leaving the Dawn, as she had done in the past.
Some of these things, some of them mentioned in the letter, just due to space, did not describe in detail, some or the first time to tell others.
At some point, Gadelia fell asleep and dreamed of many years ago.
She was just a young girl at that time, stubbornly unwilling to turn back and walked off the “Dawn”.
Suddenly, she awoke with a start, realizing that there was no one around her, that it had somehow gotten dark, and that there was even a sunrise.
Gadrial jerked her hand and threw out an illusory thread that was not real enough.
The ball of thread rolled into the void, leaving behind a brightly colored woolen thread.
Along the thread, as if she had mastered “teleportation”, she strolled through the spirit world and arrived at the outer layer of Rasha Island.
She stood on the edge of a cliff and cast her gaze into the distance, only to see a gorgeous and huge sailboat carrying the orange-red morning sunlight on the still-black deep blue sea, sailing towards the sky.
Kadriya slowly sat down, her body leaning forward slightly, her hands clasped around her knees as she gazed longingly in that direction.
The sun gradually rose, shedding some light on her body.
……
Berkland, a food distribution point.
The veiled Starling Sommer, who no longer looked down as often as she had in previous months for fear of being recognized, gazed anxiously ahead, fearing that the free food would be distributed before her turn came.
Vaguely, she seemed to hear the sound of gunfire echoing in the distance, and wondered if this was coming from the Forsak, Intis, and Feneport armies that had broken through the lines, or from the police who were dealing with the food grabbers.
End it …… This war end quickly …… Starling, who had already run three relief points today, prayed silently.
Just then, a staff member a few meters away pulled up his voice and said:
”The food has been distributed here!”
Starling’s face turned ashen, and she looked up at the already somewhat bleak sky, dragging her feet in frustration and numbness as she returned to the house at 17 Minsk Street.
As soon as she opened the door, the two children of the house rushed over to her, raising their innocent faces and saying:
”Mom, did you get the bread?”
”Mommy, I’m hungry ……”
They were twins, a boy and a girl, both very cute looking.
Starling’s nose was sore and she forced a smile and said:
”Yes.”
She then entered the house and rummaged through a hidden place to find a small amount of bread, which she divided equally between the two children.
As she watched the two children eat up the bread with complete disregard for etiquette, Starling’s face continued to change, sometimes in sadness, sometimes in pain.
It wasn’t long before her husband, Luke Sommer, also returned to the house, but again with no food in his hands.
The former manager had been out of work since Cowham’s company had been taken over by the military under the Wartime Act, and had to rely on his past savings and government handouts to support his family.
”Didn’t receive ……” Seeing his wife look over, hopeful, the stocky, mustachioed man buried his head down in shame.
Thirty or so years old, the face is still quite delicate Starling inhaled and said:
”Me too …… I’ll go back out and get in line, there should be another place that will be handing out food!”
Without waiting for her husband to respond, she rushed out the door.
Luke instantly turned his body to her back and said:
”I’ll go look again too!”
Without stopping, Starling walked two streets and came to a house with a garden.
It didn’t take her long to meet the owner of the place, the rich man in his fifties.
”I think I’d like to buy some food.” Starling took out a wad of crumpled bills.
The old man with graying hair smiled and said:
”Why would I sell it to you?
”I remember you refused me last time.”
Starling’s face turned extremely pale, and without speaking, she lowered her head and used her other hand to unbuckle the belt at the waist of her skirt.
With a pop, the calf leather belt, which was originally delicate but already had quite a few stains, fell to the ground.
……
Luke Sommer wandered aimlessly through the streets, wondering where he could get food.
Watching the handful of pedestrians passing by and looking at the bags they were trying their best to protect, the mechanically inclined and very learned gentleman’s eyes gradually turned red.
He unknowingly followed a man and followed him as he turned into a street.
In less than an hour, the curfew would begin, and this was one of the few chances he had left.
The man stopped outside a house and walked towards the door with a false step.
Just then, the man suddenly passed out and fell to the ground.
Luke subconsciously took a few steps back, then quickly leaned over and tested the pedestrian’s nostrils.
His eyes unconsciously went to the paper bag the other man was holding tightly in his arms, and his nose caught the scent of toast.
Luke swallowed and was about to reach out and take the bag.
As his hand moved, he winced and looked back at the house this pedestrian was trying to enter and saw a child’s graffiti-like drawing taped to the convex belly window.
Luke’s movements stiffened, and after several seconds he stood, walked to the door of the house, and pulled the bell.
The housewife and child inside quickly opened the door and saw the frail father and the bag of bread.
Curfew soon came and Luke returned to Minsk Street, frustrated and self-conscious.
He had just opened the door to his house when he saw his wife smiling at him:
”I got my food!”
That’s great. …… Luke sighed with relief and hugged Starling hard.
……
Audrey walked through the streets and alleys where no one could see her.
She didn’t say a word and kept walking back to Queens, back inside the luxurious villa, smelling the aroma of fried foie gras and other delicacies.
After staring in silence for a while, watching the comings and goings of the maids and maids, Audrey went upstairs to her room.
In the middle of the night, cloaked in her cloak, she entered her parents’ bedroom and made her way to their bed.
After a long, deep look, Audrey dropped to one knee and rested her forehead against her father’s hand.
A droplet of water slid down and soaked through the carpet.
Then the blonde, blue-eyed, aristocratic girl slowly raised her head to her sleeping parents and huffed:
”Father, mother, thank you, thank you for having taught me what mercy, what kindness, and what virtue is.”
As soon as the words fell out of her mouth, she closed her eyes, stood up violently, and turned towards the door, no longer having the slightest expression on her face.
