Part 6 The Light Pathfinder Chapter 62 Spreading the Light
When Klein was thinking about the solution just now, a picture naturally came to his mind:
The sea of clouds between the two peaks “boiled” dramatically, and parted to the right and left, revealing a dark bottomless gap, into which the orange-red dusk light filled, forming a substantial road.
This is the scene created by “Blasphemer” Amon when he entered the “Court of Giants” dream projection.
Just when Klein thought that he didn’t know enough about the corresponding ability and planned to use another method, the red, green, blue, and transparent jewels embedded on the “Staff of Stars” blossomed into spirits and sparked on their own.
The solidified gray mist also “boiled”, but less violently.
They rolled backward and parted on both sides, but the front was still boundless gray and white, with no end in sight.
Kraven sighed inwardly and tried something else while keeping his thoughts in check.
In three minutes, he made at least ten efforts, seven of his own volition and three of a stressful nature, but none of them were able to open the invisible barrier.
…… The normal way really can not …… Klein flicked his wrist, letting the “0-62” historical projection close to the limit of maintenance disappeared into the real world.
He stared at the silent gray fog, dozens of seconds without a little movement, as if the original turned into a statue.
Finally, Klein closed his eyes, withdrew his sight, carried the lamp, and walked toward the humans who were not far away from him, spying on this side.
He did not intend to continue to make a blind attempt, as the odds were that it would not be successful, and he was prepared to ask those ancient relics who had stood firm in the vicinity for two or three thousand years, and who had obviously explored this grayish mist, to see if he could find inspiration from their long and cumulative experience.
According to Klein’s anticipation, those humans were bound to react more excessively to his approach, and had already prepared the appropriate abilities that would allow them to talk to him calmly, but when he looked over regarding the dim glow of the lanterns on both sides, he found that the humans, who were either ugly or deformed, were all looking over with their mouths slightly open, and their expressions of confusion and shock as if they had briefly lost the ability to think.
Klein frowned slightly, and in the deep darkness, his pace was neither too fast nor too slow as he walked over to the group of ancient relics, stopping roughly two or three meters away.
”What do you know of this mist?” Krynn asked in a low voice in the giant tongue.
The language that pried the forces of nature did not differ from region to region, only slightly in accent, but not by much, for if it had been alienated from the original, odds were that it would have lost its effect on ceremonial magic.
It wasn’t until Germaine Sparrow asked the question that Adar seemed to come back to his senses, his lips opening and closing for a moment as he spoke in reply:
”We, none of us have ever made the mist appear to change ……”
The image of Germaine Sparrow just now making the fog boil like water and Part 1n both directions really frightened them, with the feeling that they were witnessing a miracle.
The efforts of generation after generation for two or three thousand years in Moon City could not compare to the other party’s attempts with a cane, between one or two hundred heartbeats!
This was the main reason why they gave up resisting as Germaine Sparrow approached.
They instinctively assumed that no amount of evasion on their part would have any effect.
Klein was silent for two seconds and continued to ask:
”Have you documented it accordingly?”
Adar somewhat understood what Germaine Sparrow meant this time, hesitated, and slowly nodded:
”There is …… however, only the High Priest and the others will often look through it.”
Klein, who wore a black trench coat and a half-high bowler hat, thought for a moment and suddenly probed his hand, taking out an item from the void.
It was a cross dyed copper-green with several spikes protruding from it.
It originated from the image of the “Darknessless Cross” of the “Ancient Sun God”!
Kraven took the cross, raised it a little higher, and aimed it at the group of ancient relics.
Pure, bright, warm light blossomed out, dispersing the surrounding darkness and shining on Adar and Sin.
Their combat experience made them reflexively try to make a defense, but the comfort originating from instinct made their movements stop in droves only halfway through.
That kind of light, that kind of warmth, was in no way comparable to a fire!
This made the remaining members of the Moon City Hunting Squad recall in a trance the gods in the ancient texts and in the mouths of the High Priests, gods that emitted infinite light and brought infinite warmth.
In the illumination of the bright light, an illusory black gas that twisted and struggled as if it had a life force of its own vaporized from Adar, Xin, and the others and quickly dissipated.
The members of the Moon City Hunting Squad only felt their bodies relax, and the depression within their souls disappeared.
After purifying the pollution and disease that had gathered in the target’s body, Kraven flicked his wrist and made the “Cross of Darkness” disappear in front of his body.
Immediately after that, he grabbed in front of him and dragged another cane out of nothingness, a plain, log-colored cane.
This was the “Staff of Life”, the former seal of Silver City!
Although Klein had already sacrificed it to the “Goddess of Night”, whatever the “Ancient Scholar” once possessed would only accompany him in another way.
Holding the “Staff of Life”, Kraven took a few steps forward and used it to pestle the leader of the Moon City hunting party.
Adar didn’t dodge the experience, and the sarcoma on his face began to crack, bleed, fade, shrink, disappear, and in the end, not even a scar remained.
Adar, aware of the change in him from the looks in his teammates’ eyes, somewhat hesitantly and a bit sluggishly raised his right hand and touched his face, from top to bottom and bottom to top, several times in a row.
The process found him in better shape than he had ever been before, better than when he had first come of age.
Without looking at him, Kraven took a step diagonally and used the “life cane” to heal the rest of the ancient remnants.
With Adar as their example, Sin and the others were on guard and vigilant while accepting the touch of the staff, and then gained a new life in an indescribable sensation.
Among them, two of the deformed who were already prone to emotions could no longer hold back their tears.
Unfortunately, the birth defects can not be cured …… mental illness can be cured, but some crazy tendencies can not be cured …… Klein retracted his right hand backward, letting the “Cane of Life” historical projection dissipate into thin air. The historical projection dissipated into thin air.
He walked to his original position, turned his body, and looked at the group of ancient relics and said:
”I did not come here to destroy, but to spread the light of my Lord, to bring light and warmth.
”Go back and tell your chief that I am here, and that he may come if he wishes.”
He made no attempt to ask where the settlement of this group of ancient relics was, nor did he intend to go there directly, for that would have inspired the strongest resistance and vigilance.
Therefore, handing over the lead to the other side was the most appropriate way to handle the situation.
Adar and Sin and the others had by now had their minds shaken by the performance of the preacher opposite, Germaine Sparrow, who kept pulling out all sorts of miraculous items out of thin air, and felt more and more as if they were walking into a divine miracle and had been baptized by the divine light, restoring their physical condition to its best, if not surpassing it.
”…… Okay.” A few seconds later, Adar opened his mouth to respond.
Just as they turned their bodies around and prepared to return to Moon City, a little bit of firelight lit up in the depths of the darkness, flying from far away to near.
At the head of the group was an old man sheathed in dark brown animal skins, his hair gray and hanging down in disarray, his face a true furrow.
”High Priest ……,” after seeing the other party’s appearance clearly, Xin shouted offhandedly.
The visitor was none other than the High Priest of Moon City, Nim.
Nim was followed by Ruth and other members of the hunting squad who had returned to the city early and several higher sequence Extraordinary Ones.
Nim nodded to Adar and Sin and the others, walked to the front of the group, looked at the man who called himself Preacher Germaine Sparrow, crossed his arms, and made a bow:
”Honored guests, I am Nim, High Priest of Moon City.
”Moon City was once a city belonging to the vampires, but that civilization was destroyed in ancient times.
”After that, we were commanded by the great Sun God, the Lord of all creation, to migrate here, to watch over this gray mist and try accordingly, not giving up even when the land was later cursed and the Lord no longer answered us.
”To this day, three thousand seven hundred and twenty-two years have passed.”
