Episode 19: Metamorphosis Chapter 3: The Goal
It dawned on Linley in his mind.
“No wonder the Lord God told me to become a Lord of the Nine Specters before going in, if I’m in a dimensional battlefield as a soldier. One must obey the management. There’s no way to go looking for a chance to kill the enemy commander.” Linley understood that he could only act alone. Only then could he kill enemy commanders faster.
Being subject to someone else’s control. How could that work?
“Aside from these, are there any other rules?” Linley asked again.
“Nope.” The guards even said, “The rules are simple, the commander is qualified to bring people into the dimensional battlefield, in the dimensional battlefield. It’s also the case that the various commanders can act as they please and the soldiers obey the arrangements, that’s all! As for how much merit. As for the amount of merit, how many rewards can be obtained. It’s recorded on the stone tablet next to the gate of space!”
Linley nodded slightly.
Military merits, rewards and whatnot, Linley didn’t care for the moment. After all, he didn’t even have the qualifications to go in right now, so it was too early to talk about those.
“Bebe, let’s go.” Linley transmitted a voice.
The two of them, Linley and Bebe, immediately flew away from this Flame Bone Mountain, and in midair Bebe asked eagerly, “Boss, what are we going to do now again? To go in. We have to rely on the Nine Specters Lords or the Underworld Mansion Lords, we can only have two paths right now. Find a Lord of the Nine Specters to lead us in. Or, one of us. Become a Nine Sepulchre Lord!”
“The first path won’t work.” Linley shook his head, “First of all, right now, in the Nine Sephiroth Domain, the Nine Sephiroth Lords who haven’t entered the dimensional battlefield yet, that don’t want to go in and risk their lives. How could they possibly take us in? Furthermore, going in as an ordinary soldier is something that requires obedience to management, and I’m going in this time. It’s with the goal of killing the other party’s commander.”
Bebe looked at Linley and smiled, “Boss, what do you mean?”
“Find a way to become a Nine Specters Lord!” Linley said slowly.
“Haha. I’m in favor of it.” Bebe’s eyes stirred. Then he frowned, “It’s not that easy.”
“It’s not easy. There isn’t a single weak land that can become a Nine Specters Ode Lord.” Linley also knew. Once every Nine Specters Lord was defeated. He would be succeeded by a stronger person. This system had been in place for countless years, resulting in the eighty-one lords being all terrifyingly strong.
The ones that I know are Reis Jing and Mo Si. They were all Purgatory Commanders in Hell, and Beirut was also the Lord of the Spectral Blue Mansion.
“Between the eighty-one Nine Specter Lords, there should also still be a difference between the strong and the weak. The strong ones are like Beirut and Dennington. But it’s the weak ones that should be no worse than me.” Linley said. “If we challenge a character of your grandfather Beirut’s level. It’s simply going to send them to their deaths!”
Bebe nodded as well, “Find a weak one, and there’s still a chance land.”
“But who’s strong and who’s weak?” Linley frowned, “What’s also troublesome right now is that we have no idea what rules there are for this challenge to the Nine Specters Lords, as well as which of the Nine Specters Lords have entered the dimensional battlefield and which are still in the Nine Specters Domain. That has to be clarified as well.”
“Even if we fight, we must choose a target, which of these eighty-one Nine Specter Mansions is easier to deal with.” Linley had no knowledge of this Nine Specters Domain. Almost nothing was known.
Bebe was also bitter.
He didn’t know either. Still, he spoke up, “Boss, of these eighty-one domains, doesn’t each domain have a city? There must be a lot of people in the city, and it will be easy for us to investigate there.” Bebe said.
“That’s the only way.” Linley nodded.
There was a city in the core area of Flame Bone Island. The city was obviously much more lively.
Inside a restaurant.
Linley and Bebe were sitting opposite each other as Linley looked around. He realized that there were many Upper Gods within this Flame Bone Island city as expected. But surprisingly, there were also Medial Gods and Lower Gods! “It seems. It’s some of the children those Upper Gods left behind in the Nine Spectral Regions.” Linley guessed so.
“Both of you, this is my restaurant menu.” A Mediate God handed over the menu with a smile.
Linley, however, looked at him while spreading his God’s Domain, and the waiter couldn’t help but turn pale and look at Linley warily, but Linley smiled, “Don’t be nervous. I’m going to ask you something.”
“Please speak.” This attendant was still able to maintain his composure.
“Within this Nine Specters Domain. What are the rules for challenging the Nine Specters Lords?” Linley inquired.
The attendant gave Linley a puzzled look. Still, he said, “It’s very simple. Within the eighty-one collars, there is a ‘blood battle platform’ within any collar city. As long as one experiences one hundred consecutive battles on the Blood Battle Stage and wins them all, then …… that one hundred victories over the strongest person will be eligible to challenge the lord of this collar, to a challenge!”
“Oh?” Linley’s eyes lit up.
“Isn’t this the same as Tearloe Island.” Bebe smiled as well.
Perhaps Tearloe Island was copying this Nine Hells Domain mainland model.
“I want to know. What’s so special about these eighty-one lords. Who is strong and who is weak? And who of them is now in the Nine Specters Domain. Who has gone to the dimensional battlefield?” Linley asked one after another.
The attendant said helplessly, “Lords, this, how would I know?”
Linley smiled, many of the service personnel were still well-informed. Linley pursued, “Then tell me. Who knows? Knows best?”
The service personnel even said, “Within our city. There’s information about the Lords being sold.”
“Selling information for relief?” Linley’s eyes lit up.
That was right. Where there was a need, there was a market, and within the Nine Specters Domain, challenging the eighty-one lords was what many people had in mind. Of course many people wanted to know. Some of the realities of the eighty-one Nine Specters Lords.
“Where to sell? Take me there and I’ll send you ten thousand inkstones.” Linley said blandly. “This is five thousand inkstones, and I’ll give you another five thousand inkstones after the fact.” Linley immediately handed it over.
In the Underworld, inkstones were similarly able to circulate.
“Ten thousand inkstones?” This attendant’s eyes immediately lit up. Within the city he wasn’t worried that Linley would strike. Immediately, he said. “All right. I wonder when the two adults will go? Is it when the food is finished. Or?”
“Right now.”
Linley and Bebe both stood up.
“Good. The two of you wait a moment. I’ll go talk to the boss.” That attendant was very enthusiastic.
“Boss. This is pretty easy.” Bebe laughed and looked at Linley.
“Restaurants and other places are a mixed bag, and these service staff hear a lot and know a lot. It’s most convenient to ask them.” Linley also breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. There were actually people within this city who specialized in selling information on the eighty-one lords, so this made things much easier.
“Two lords, follow me.” The attendant who had collected five thousand inkstones was very enthusiastic. Immediately leading the way in front.
Walking down the street. Bebe was puzzled, “This kind of intelligence trafficking, wouldn’t the eighty-one lords object to it?”
“Lord Lord. That’s a high and mighty person. What are they afraid of?” The service personnel even said, “They don’t care about this at all. In fact, it’s in the official castle in our city. There is also information about the eighty-one lords for sale, but the price is too expensive! It costs one million plutonium stones per copy. I’ll take the two of you to a place where it’s much cheaper, and you can purchase a copy for only ten thousand plutonium.”
Linley smiled.
This kind of intelligence, where others only needed to purchase one copy and then could transcribe it into ten million copies to sell, this kind of business was indeed good.
“Ordinary people don’t know about this kind of hidden place yet. I’ve lived here since I was a child.” The attendant said.
“Since childhood?” Bebe said in amazement.
The attendant nodded her head and said, “The Nine Specters Domain can be surrounded by teleportation arrays, and at the time when we rushed to the Nine Specters Domain, almost all of us were Upper Deities. Almost all of them are Upper Deities, and we, the Lower Deities and Middle Deities, were all born in the Nine Secrets Domain. We are weak. It’s only within the city that we can live, fortunately. The Nine Specters Domain doesn’t have a large population, and the price of purchasing a house within the city is very low.”
Linley smiled as well.
In the Hell Continent. The Underworld Continent. The price of houses within that city could be expensive, but in the Nine Specters Domain, many of the remote places didn’t even have people, and there were obviously fewer people on each island. Naturally housing prices were cheaper.
Fewer people are fewer. But there are many experts.
“This guy is indeed familiar with this city.” Linley sighed darkly as this attendant was leading Linley and the two of them. Very familiarly, he drilled through the alleys and kept moving along some remote shortcuts, and in just a few moments, he arrived in front of an ordinary courtyard, “Here it is. This is it!”
Linley looked around, this courtyard wasn’t the least bit special at first glance.
“Open the door!” The attendant immediately knocked on the door.
Soon, the door to the courtyard opened, and a silver-haired, burly man walked out. He swept a glance. He smiled when he especially saw the attendant, “So it’s you kid. What’s going on? Bring us a guest.”
“We need a copy, information about the eighty-one lords.” Linley said.
“Both of you, please come in.” The silver-haired burly man said evenly.
That attendant immediately looked at Linley and the two of them, Linley smiled and very casually took out five zhan stones and handed them to this attendant. That attendant immediately took it, “Thank you two adults, then I can leave first.”
“You kid has earned quite a lot.” That silver-haired strong man said smilingly. “Both of you, please.”
Linley and Bebe entered this courtyard as they did, and there were surprisingly a dozen people sitting in the courtyard. Three of them were Upper Gods, the others were Middle Gods or even Lower Gods, and one of them, a red-haired youth, stood up and greeted them with a smile, so the silver-haired burly man said, “Elder, they want a piece of information about the eighty-one lords.”
“Right.” Linley nodded.
“Oh. Do you guys want it briefly, in detail, or …… the most secretive kind?” The red-haired youth said.
Linley was stunned.
This intelligence was still divided into three levels?
“It seems like there must be a difference in price as well.” Bebe laughed.
The red-haired youth nodded, “That’s for sure. Ordinary abbreviated one. Ten thousand plutonite, detailed, one hundred thousand plutonite, and as for the most secretive one, it requires one million plutonite.” The silver-haired strong man on the ground next to him even said, “Of course you guys are also able to use ink stones to trade.”
“Tell me the difference.” Linley said with interest.
“Ordinary. It’s the eighty-one lords. Which law each specializes in. How many battles they’ve fought. How many victories, and where each resides.” The red-haired youth said.
“In detail. The eighty-one lords specialize in the laws of the land. What stances have been used. And whether or not they went to dimensional battlefields, and the battles they publicly fought. The description of each battle and so on, all of it!” The red stirred youth said with a smile.
Bebe couldn’t help but have her eyes light up.
Linley smiled as well.
This one was good!
Even the stances that had been used, the laws that they specialized in, and so on were all there. Every battle was described in detail. The ground was indeed good enough.
“And the most secretive land?” Linley wondered.
“The most secretive, even eighty-one Lord’s relatives and friends, what they often do, what temperament and so on, there are some records. Of course …… too secretive. Authenticity can not be guaranteed, in addition to these textual information. There are also many floating shadows, are eighty-one Lord’s quite a few public battles, recorded floating shadows!” The red-haired youth said.
Linley and Bebe looked at each other.
Goodness. This was far too detailed.
Textual information paired with a large number of floating shadows like this. It was definitely possible to have a clear understanding of those Nine Specters Lords.
Bebe laughed, “We want the most secretive kind.”
The red-haired youth, silver-haired strong man, and a group of other people laughed, “Good. We’ll arrange for someone to get one out.”
One million inkstones. It was indeed nothing to Linley. And to the red-haired youth. This intelligence was completely reproducible. The cost was also extremely low, and they knew …… that many strong people would choose the most secretive kind, and for strong people. A million wouldn’t care at all.
“All of these!” The silver-haired strong man walked out from the house, holding a box. There was a large stack of written information in the box. And there were also a large number of crystal balls.
“Very good.” Linley walked over and swept his gaze slightly.
“Lotus Rock Territory, Lord ‘Redway’. Residing in the Lotus Rock Territory ……,” A line from that top piece of paper caught his eye. Linley nodded slightly.
“Alright, this is one million inkstones.” Linley handed over a large chunk of zhan stone.
“If the two of you. Still need to know other information about the Nine Specters Domain, feel free to come to us. We’ll treat our regular customers with a 10% discount.” The red-haired youth even laughed.
Linley, however, smiled and flipped his hand, putting that entire box directly into his spatial ring.
With this detailed intelligence. It was completely possible to determine who to deal with.
