Episode 5 – Sword of the Gods ‘Purple Blood’ Chapter 17 – Returning Home
Both sides of the passageway of the selling hall were filled with rich and powerful nobles, and these nobles and powerful people were not separated by a passageway out, the two Cardinals of the Church of Light, Gilmer and Rampson, as well as the King of the Kingdom of Finlay, Clyde, the Chief Pavilion Director of the Proulx Hall, Maia, the Young Master Yale of the Dawson Chamber of Commerce, as well as the magically gifted Stone Sculptor, Linley.
These few people walked in the center, laughing and talking with each other before heading outside the Proulx Guild Hall.
“Lord Gilmer, Lord Lampson.”
“Your Majesty.”
“Master Linley.” ……
The surrounding nobles and tycoons, on the other hand, each revealed a smile and greeted them humbly. And the few people from the Debus family were the ones who were squeezed into the nooks and crannies. Alice, whose brim was pressed low, couldn’t help but raise her head and look at ”Linley”, who was being complimented by many nobles and tycoons, from amongst the people.
Today’s Linley was the most legendary genius of all time.
A seventeen year old rank seven magician, and in the field of stone carving he had reached the same level as masters such as Proulx, Hopkinson, and Hoover. Such a genius was naturally like the brightest star in the sky for people to look up to. Gradually, the two cardinals, His Majesty Clyde, Linley, Yale and the others left.
It was only then that all the nobles and tycoons left one by one in an orderly fashion.
“You’re Alice.”
A clear voice rang out quite suddenly.
Several people from the Debus family looked towards the back.
Only to see a beautiful blonde girl walk over, and behind her was an old man with a gracious smile. Regardless of whether it was the blonde girl or the old man, there was an aristocratic flavor that came from the bottom of his bones, which made people feel a little inferior between the looks.
Bernard took a look and immediately stepped forward and humbly said: ”Lord Hugh, this is Miss Delia, right? I had heard that Miss Delia of the Lane family is a beautiful woman, but today, she is even more beautiful than the legend.”
A family like the Debus family whose influence was only limited to the Finlay Kingdom was compared to the Yulan Empire’s super family, the ‘Lane Family’. The difference was unknown how much greater.
“Oh, the head of the Debus Family?”
Delia glanced at Bernard.
Bernard nodded humbly.
“This is your son Kalandi’s fiancée, right?”
Delia glanced at Alice, who was hiding behind Karan.
Bernard immediately smiled and said, “Her? No, she is not my son Calan’s proper wife.”
“Not the rightful wife?”
Delia’s face had a cold smile, Delia slowly walked towards Alice, Bernard didn’t dare to stop her at all, when it came to Karan’s body, Karan even tried to hold up his chest to try to block the other party.
However, Delia’s icy gaze sent chills down Karan’s spine.
Especially when he thought that the other party was the Lane family’s eldest miss, Karan’s heart was even more bottomless. Nowadays, the relationship between the Debus family and the Dawson Chamber of Commerce was already very bad, if he offended the Lane family again. It would be easy for the Lane family to deal with him, the Debus family.
“Alice.”
Delia stared into Alice’s eyes.
Alice raised her chin. Struggling to meet Delia’s eyes, doing her best to remain calm and not timid.
Delia, however, smiled. Softly, she said, “Alice, I really don’t know how Linley could have fallen for you?”
Alice couldn’t help but pale, but spoke, “It’s none of your business!”
“None of my business?”
Delia smiled faintly, “Yes. It’s none of my business, but I really feel sorry for you, that you would let Linley go, but as a result, you can’t even be a proper wife of the Debus family. I think you will regret it …… Unfortunately, you will never have a chance in the future. Because characters like you won’t cross paths with Linley again. You will simply be people of two worlds in the future. Understand?”
Delia didn’t even care about Karan and Alice’s ugly faces. In turn, she looked at Bernard.
“Sorry to interrupt.”
Delia said very politely.
Bernard immediately bowed humbly, “Miss Delia, take your time.”
The old man beside Delia. Glanced at Karan who had a hard look on his face, and then coldly grunted before following Delia and walking away. And Bernard is always keep a smile to see the other party leave, wait until Delia master and servant two left, Bernard only turned back and glared fiercely at Karan and Alice.
“Asshole!”
Bernard fiercely reprimanded.
Karan and Alice didn’t dare to say a word, and the several people from the Debus family went all the way back in an unspeakably depressing situation.
In the middle of the Lucas family residence in Finlay City.
“Master Linley, no, no need.”
Marquis Jeb hastily refused Linley at this time, “There’s really no need for 600,000 gold coins, Master Linley is really sorry, I really didn’t know that you had such attainments in the field of stone carving.”
Marquis Jeb, this stubborn old man, this time looking at Linley’s gaze, simply looking at the gaze of a worshipful idol.
Marquis Jeb had no other hobbies, his only hobby was collecting.
And for some of the masters level characters are naturally worshiped from the bottom of his heart. I’m afraid that a king of a kingdom in front of him, it is impossible to make him worship and admire from the bottom of his heart.
“Or, just 180,000, okay. My family sold it for 180,000 gold coins at first and now it’s 180,000 again. This is also fair. Master Linley, I truly your money, earning Master Linley’s money, I can’t even sleep peacefully.”
Marquis Jeb, this adorable old man was stubborn as hell.
“Marquis Jeb, when you, the Lucas family, purchased this warblade ‘Slaughter’ from my family, it also cost one hundred and eighty thousand gold coins. The 180,000 gold coins from hundreds of years ago were worth a lot more than today’s gold coins.”
Linley was not willing to take advantage of others. -Marquis Jeb, however, looked stubbornly at Linley.
“Haha, you guys, you guys are really ……”
Yale beside him laughed so hard he covered his stomach, “The ones who sell things desperately try to suppress the price and can’t wait to give it away for nothing. Those who buy things, however, want to give more money. This is the first time I’ve seen this scene.”
Linley smiled helplessly, “Marquis Jeb, let’s put it this way, 180,000 gold coins hundreds of years ago, catch up to 360,000 gold coins today. Just three hundred and sixty thousand gold coins. Don’t refuse anymore, or else I’ll throw down this magic crystal card and just leave.”
Linley said and even took out the magic crystal card from his bosom.
Marquis Jeb glanced at Linley with difficulty before finally nodding, “Alright then.”
Linley couldn’t help but smile.
Marquis Jeb suddenly smiled somewhat awkwardly, “Master Linley, I have a request that I don’t know if I should say.”
“Speak.”
Linley smiled and looked at Marquis Jeb.
Marquis Jeb immediately waved his hand at his subordinates, and two subordinates quickly carried out an upright stone slab from the back.
“Master Linley, I just want you to be able to help leave a signature, I think. I’ll keep it forever.”
Marquis Jeb looked at Linley expectantly.
Linley smiled, then took out a flat blade from his arms.
With a casual wave of his hand, the shadow of the blade waved, and the surface of that stone slab was suddenly strewn with stone fragments, and in a mere three breaths of effort, Linley retrieved the flat blade. However, after gently blowing on the stone slab, the stone fragments were completely thrown up, revealing two large characters that flew in a dragon’s flight – ‘Lin Lei’!
Marquis Jeb’s eyes glowed as he looked at these two words, ”What an ethereal carving technique, what beautiful handwriting. These two words are worth more than three hundred and sixty thousand gold coins.”
Hearing this. Linley cried and laughed.
On the road from Finlay City to Wushan Town, the sequoia trees on both sides of the road were neatly arranged. Linley rode his high horse at breakneck speeds down the road, carrying a huge box on his shoulders that weighed hundreds of pounds, and fortunately, this horse was a good horse gifted by the Dawson Chamber of Commerce. Fortunately, this horse was a good horse gifted by the Dawson Chamber of Commerce. A normal horse with this kind of weight wouldn’t be able to run so fast.
Behind Linley, there was even a team of a hundred cavalrymen.
This team was given to Linley by Cardinal Gilmer of the Illuminati, and according to the Illuminati, Linley’s safety was very important. The last time Linley had been hijacked had already said it all. This cavalry squad, the lowest one of which had the strength of a level five warrior, was a squad of the Illuminati’s Ace Knights.
Hundreds of horses galloped. Leaving a trail of smoke and dust in their wake.
Linley looked at Wu Shan Town, which was becoming clearer and clearer in the distance. In his mind, he couldn’t help but recall a scene from when he was growing up. When he was a child, he had trained in the open space in Wushan Town, and when he first saw the raptors for the first time, he was terrified.
In the past, in Linley’s eyes. Velociraptors were simply invincible. But for Linley nowadays, the raptors were nothing.
“The earth shook, more than a hundred excellent warhorses galloped at breakneck speeds, and the sound of the vibrations could be felt from a long way away.
Many residents of Wushan Town hid to the side of the street in fear, each with curiosity, apprehension, and fear, looking towards this powerful cavalry team in the distance.
“What a powerful cavalry team.”
Hillman, who was walking through the streets of Wu Shan Town, couldn’t help but turn his head to look, and the sound of the neat, fast, and powerful hooves alone shocked Hillman’s heart. Even in the army, he had never seen such quality cavalry a few times.
The lowest was a fifth level warrior, how could the quality of the cavalry squad of the Illuminati’s Ace Knights be poor?
That galloping aura alone made people tremble.
“Who is that?”
Hillman saw the person at the front with a single glance.
“Linley.”
Hillman’s face couldn’t help but change drastically before his entire body quickly ran towards the Baruch family residence.
The cavalry squad led by Linley had slowed down after entering the town of Wushan, and only Linley was the only one who had rushed slightly faster towards his own family. Looking at the distant courtyard wall of the mansion with its mottled traces, Linley’s mind naturally conjured up a scene from his childhood where he had fun in the mansion.
“Baruch family, my roots!”
Linley carried the box of his warblade ‘Slaughter’ on his back, and all he had in his heart was endless pride.
Linley still clearly remembered what his father had said to him when he first set off for the Ernst Academy. Linley believed that what his father had said to him, he was afraid that he would never be able to forget for the rest of his life – “Linley, remember the wishes of our Baruch family’s forefathers over these hundreds of years, and remember the shame of our Baruch family!”
“You’ll be at least a rank six magician after you graduate, as long as you practice seriously and hard, becoming a rank seven magician isn’t | thing, you’ll have complete certainty in the future that you’ll be able to reclaim the family’s inherited treasure, if you can’t reclaim it, I won’t forgive you even if I die.”
“I won’t forgive you even if I die!” ……
That voice constantly echoed in Linley’s mind, but when he felt the heavy pressure of the warblade ‘Slaughter’ on his back, a sense of bravado surfaced in Linley’s heart.
“Father, I’m back!”
“Father, I’ve returned with the warblade ‘Slaughter’!”
Linley leapt off his horse at speed, directly rushing into the middle of the mansion compound.
“Father!”
Linley shouted loudly.
“I’m back, back with the warblade ‘Slaughter’.”
Linley’s voice was filled with joy and excitement.
The family forefathers had worked for hundreds of years. The greatest hope of his father’s life. And he himself had finally accomplished it for his father now!
“Warblade ‘Slaughter’?”
A voice rang out.
Linley dropped his head to look, and it was none other than Hillman.
“Uncle Hillman, where’s father? Hurry up and make him come out. Haha, I’ve finally brought back the warblade ‘Slaughter’, really, the inherited treasure of our Dragonblood Warrior clan, I’ve finally brought it back. Tell my father where he is. He’ll be very, very happy when he finds out. I’m afraid we’ll have to have a good drink tonight. Don’t worry, Uncle Hillman. I won’t say no. Definitely have a good drink with you and don’t get drunk.”
Linley’s entire person was excited as hell. He also took out the box on his back and looked at Hillman while holding it.
But ……
Hillman didn’t have a trace of joy on his face, but instead had a trace of depression.
“Hee, Uncle Hillman?”
Linley’s brows furrowed. Looking at Hillman, “Uncle Hillman, where is my father?”
Hillman looked at Linley and tried to squeeze out a smile, “Linley, you’ve brought back the Warblade ‘Slaughter’? Your father will be very happy to know, for sure.”
“Where are my father’s others?”
“Your father. Him. He died three months ago.”
Hillman took a deep breath and spoke slowly. While saying it, his eyes were already moist.
Linley felt as if countless thunderbolts were roaring in his ears for a moment, his mind going blank.
“Clang!”
The box in Linley’s hands landed heavily on the ground. The lid of the box shook and flew, revealing the murderous aura of a giant battle sword with a hint of blood red, the coldly murderous, bloody aura surprisingly instantly depressing the entire courtyard.
“Dead?”
Linley looked at Hillman incredulously.
Hillman nodded gently.
Suddenly Linley laughed, “Haha, Uncle Hillman, you must have lied to me, haha, I’ve even brought the war knife ‘Slaughter’ back, look, Uncle Hillman, I’ve brought the war knife ‘Slaughter’ back, my father How could he die, he still has to see the Warblade Slaughter.”
Linley grabbed the Warblade ‘Slaughter’ as he did so, the bloody aura even causing Hillman to feel his heart stifle.
“Uncle Hillman, look, I’ve brought back the Warblade ‘Slaughter’ all right, and I’m going to tell my father that I can already turn into a Dragonblood Warrior.”
The scales of Linley’s hands began to emerge, turning into dragon claws in just a moment.
Two dragon claws grasped Hillman’s shoulders as Linley stared at Hillman, “Uncle Hillman, look, I can even become a Dragonblood Warrior, and I’ve even brought back the warblade ‘Slaughter’. Really, where is father, where is my earthly father!”
“I still have to show him the Warblade Slaughter!”
“I haven’t even told him that I can already become a Dragonblood Warrior.”
Those dragon claws clawed at Hillman, yet the owner of those claws, ‘Linley’, looked at Hillman prayerfully.
“Uncle Hillman, I beg you, tell me, where the hell is father?”
Linley was like a poor orphan who had lost everything, looking at Hillman in supplication. Like a drowning man grasping for the last straw, he clutched at Hillman.
Hillman gently shook his head, “Linley, your father, he’s dead!”
Linley laughed, laughed in such a pale manner, “No, it won’t be, I still have to show him the warblade ‘Slaughter’, I still have to tell him that I’ve been able to turn into a Dragonblood Warrior, and I’m going to have to have a good drink with him tonight.”
As he spoke, Linley was already in tears.
Hillman looked at Linley and couldn’t help but raise his head, then two lines of tears flowed down instead.
“No, no way!”
Linley’s pair of sharp claws grasped Hillman, those eyes looked at Hillman dead on, to the point where the pupils of his eyes glowed with the same icy dark gold color as the Spinebacked Ironclad Dragon’s, and an even more terrifyingly baleful aura than that of the Warblade ‘Slaughter’ pervaded the entire courtyard.
The low, hoarse voice burst out from his throat – “Tell me, where is my father?”
