Episode 6: The Road to Revenge Chapter 11: The Man Behind the Scenes
The entire body was covered in black scales, with pitch-black spikes sprouting from the knees and elbows, the spikes that lined up in straight lines throughout the entire back, and especially Linley’s pupils that had already turned a dark golden color. These icy dark golden pupils alone stared at Patterson, causing Patterson’s heart to tremble.
“You are? Who are you?”
Patterson’s face turned white with terror, stuttering for a moment but bursting out with these words.
What the hell was the monster in front of him?
“Who am I?”
Linley’s cold gaze stared at Patterson.
“Crunch, crunch,” the sound of bones trembling continuously came out from all parts of Patterson’s body, and Linley’s tail, which was like steel, firmly and powerfully bound Patterson’s entire body tightly. No matter how hard Patterson’s arms tried, he couldn’t move.
Pain was transmitted from the bones of his arms to his entire body.
“Are you from another realm?”
Patterson’s eyes were filled with terror, Linley’s current appearance was only possible for races from other realms in Patterson’s opinion, “Linley, please, spare my life, I will definitely not pass on your secret, I promise.”
Patterson was stared at by Linley’s dark golden eyes and had completely panicked.
“Spare your life?”
An icy smile floated across Linley’s face, “That’s not impossible. I want to ask you if you sent someone to capture a woman about twelve or thirteen years ago.”
Patterson was stunned.
He immediately tried desperately to recall the events of twelve or thirteen years ago, but twelve or thirteen years ago was just a little too far away. The most important thing was …… “Linley, no, Lord Linley. I, I can’t recall.”
Patterson said in panic.
“That’s been a long time ago, and besides, I’ve often captured women I like up to my mansion. I can’t remember exactly which one you’re talking about.”
Linley couldn’t help but have murderous intent bubbling up in his heart.
This Patterson was actually a frequent capturer of women.
Patterson simply couldn’t tell the change in Linley’s heart from the surface of Linley’s land at the moment, and the completely dragonized Linley’s entire being appeared cold, merciless, and terrifyingly eerie.
“A woman who just gave birth to a child not long ago, a woman who just returned to the hotel after going to the Temple of Light to pray.”
Linley was still coldly looking at Patterson, his voice not rising and falling in the slightest.
When Patterson heard Linley speak of this, his entire body froze for a moment. And then looked at Linley in shock.
“Come to think of it?”
Linley said indifferently.
Naturally, Patterson remembered, he had for so many years. He had only caught women who had just given birth to a child not long afterward twice. Naturally, he had a deep memory. Especially the time twelve or thirteen years ago, when the person who had instructed him to do this had sternly asked him to keep it a secret.
“I really can’t recall.”
Patterson said in horror. “Lord Linley, I beg you, spare me, I really don’t know, you must be mistaken.”
A stern aura flashed in Linley’s dark golden pupils.
“You, seek death.”
Linley’s voice grew more and more morose.
“Ah,” Padson screamed in pain as Linley’s powerful tail bound him harder and harder. The increasingly terrifying force caused the bones in Patterson’s entire body to groan.
But Linley was still staring indifferently at Patterson.
“Ka-ching!”
“Ah!”
The sound of bones snapping resounded clearly, and at the same time, Patterson screamed in agony. The bones of his left arm had been crushed and broken.
“Not bad.”
The corner of Linley’s mouth curled up slightly. It seemed to be smiling.
However, Patterson didn’t think that it was a smile, and now, after the ‘dragonized’ appearance of Linley, the curved corners of his mouth only caused Patterson’s heart to grow more and more terrified.
“You actually know the difference between light and heavy. The vast majority of your fighting qi is used to protect the five organs and six bowels of your body. Only a small amount of fighting qi to protect the arm. That’s right, a broken arm won’t kill you, but a ruptured internal organ, that could cost you your life.”
Linley’s voice was calm.
Patterson felt his throat go dry.
He had never thought that Linley would have such a horrifying scene.
“Thinking about it now?”
Linley added.
Patterson really wanted to answer, but he couldn’t help but tremble in his heart as soon as he recalled the punishment that had been said to result from this. Immediately, he acted more and more pitifully, crying out in pain, “Lord Linley, I beg you, don’t torture me. I really didn’t know ah, you just killed me I didn’t know.”
Patterson was convinced that this matter had been over twelve years in the past, how old was Linley now?
It was estimated that what Linley had looked up was just a sporadic bit of information, it was definitely not one hundred percent certain, as long as he bit down on it, the other party might even believe him.
“Lord Linley, if I knew I would have said so long ago, how could I have suffered for nothing. Lord Linley, please find out the truth of the matter.”
Tears were streaming down Patterson’s face, acting so sincerely. If Linley didn’t have the letter left behind by his father, he was afraid that he would really hesitate.
Linley looked at Patterson, the corners of his mouth curling up more and more.
A chill ran through Patterson’s heart.
“Very good, very good.”
Linley’s dragon tail was still binding Patterson, and steeply the dragon tail exerted force to slam Patterson’s entire body down hard towards the marble floor, fortunately Linley was allowing Patterson to slam down ‘head first’.
The power of Linley’s dragon tail erupted!
Both thighs ruthlessly collided with the marble floor.
“Peng!”
The sound of bones cracking at breakneck speed rang out, and at the same time, there was also Patterson’s mournful screams.
In the knee area of Patterson’s left leg, a white bone actually pierced through the muscle, piercing through the pants and emerging. The white bone spikes just emerged from the surface of the thigh. The right leg was even directly soft on the ground, especially the ankle of that pair of feet, the blood completely stained the pants red.
“Ah, ah, ah Patterson kept screaming miserably.
This pain was literally killing him, while the five internal organs were fortunately protected by the fighting qi. At least it saved his life.
“Demon, demon.”
Patterson cursed continuously in the bottom of his heart, he knew very well that Linley had used a great deal of power, and with his strength as a seventh level warrior he simply couldn’t preserve all parts of his body. He could only barely keep his organs from being damaged.
Patterson didn’t want to die.
A broken leg?
It was fine, as long as there was enough money, it was possible to ask a ninth level Magician of the Illuminati to perform the ‘Song of Life’, as long as he didn’t die on the spot. Any serious injury would be able to be recovered!
“Ring a bell? Did you capture that woman?”
Linley’s voice was still calm, without the slightest rise or fall.
But Patterson’s heart grew more and more fearful.
“Come to think of it, come to think of it.”
Beads of sweat broke out straight from Patterson’s forehead, that hurt, that was from being scared.
Patterson knew very well that he and Linley were in the middle of a secret room inside a small, secret building that was closed. I’m afraid that any louder sounds from the inside could only be barely heard from the outside by sticking to the stone door. But this secret little building, who would listen outside against the stone door?
No matter how loud he shouted, no one would know.
“Say it earlier. Isn’t there no need to suffer this much?”
Linley’s dark golden eyes looked calmly at Patterson, “Say it. Tell me everything that happened back then.”
Patterson nodded his head hurriedly, “Lord Linley, back then, I saw that woman was really beautiful.
In a moment of obsession, I sent someone to plunder this woman back. I wanted to get this woman to sleep with me, only this woman was so stubborn that she actually crashed into a wall and killed herself. “Said Patterson apprehensively looking towards Linley.
In Patterson’s opinion, there weren’t many people in this world who knew about that woman’s trail, and Linley shouldn’t know.
“And you lie!”
Linley finally became enraged, those dark golden pupils even gradually flushing red. Linley controlled the dragon’s tail to bind Paderson, moving Paderson all the way to his face. Linley was practically plastered against Paderson’s face. Coldly looking at his opponent.
Close enough to look at Linley. Looking at the black scales emerging from Linley’s entire body, looking at the spikes on Linley’s forehead. Patterson grew more and more emboldened in his heart.
“I’m not lying, I’m not lying!”
Patterson said hurriedly.
Linley’s right hand, which had transformed into a dragon’s claw, violently slapped at Patterson’s face.
“Pfft!”
The left side of Patterson’s face was immediately scratched off five chunks of flesh alive, and blood continued to bubble out. Luckily, Linley wasn’t trying to take his little life. Otherwise this slap would have been enough to smash his head to pieces.
“Oooh, oooh Patterson’s voice changed in pain.
Linley looked coldly at Padeson, “Listen to me, Padeson, I already know a lot about what happened, so it’s better if you don’t lie to me, or else the torment you’re going to suffer will never be just this.
I can tell you that the woman you captured in the first place is my mother.” “Mother? “”Mother?””
Patterson was instantly stunned, not even caring about the pain.
“I know very well what happened to my mother in the first place, and I’ve been looking into it. So you better tell me all the news about my mother, otherwise …… you’re bound to die.”
Linley’s voice grew more and more eerie.
In fact, regardless of whether Patterson said it or not, Patterson was bound to die.
Because of his own father, it was Paderson who had caused people to hunt down and eventually die. This Patterson is not clear a few months ago he sent people to kill a person is Linley’s father. If he knew …… I’m afraid that Patterson’s reaction would be something else again. “Tell me, who did you give my mother to?”
Linley stared at Patterson.
“You know?”
Patterson’s face went pale.
Linley actually knew that he had given that woman to another person?
“Tell me his name, and don’t just lie to me. If I find out that you’ve deceived me, I’ll make your life worse than death.”
Linley’s voice remained calm without the slightest rise or fall.
Patterson deliberated for a moment.
“It’s useless for me to tell you, you can’t kill him.”
Patterson said in a low voice.
“Can’t be killed?”
Linley looked at Patterson indifferently, “Patterson, listen to me, you only need to tell me his identity, as for whether or not I’m able to kill him is out of your hands. What do you know about my true strength?”
The ‘Linley’ in front of him was too terrifying, the strength that was originally displayed in plain sight made people think that he was an absolute genius. But now it seemed that this Linley was much more powerful than he, a rank seven warrior. He didn’t even have a single power to fight back in front of Linley.
Patterson pondered intensely in his mind.
Linley didn’t rush either, just staring at Patterson with those dark golden pupils.
After pondering for a long time, Patterson finally clenched his teeth and looked towards Linley: ”Linley, I’ll tell you his identity, but you must promise that you absolutely cannot let anyone else know that it was me who told you! And, you absolutely cannot kill me.”
Linley’s face remained indifferent: “Fine, I promise not to let anyone else know that you told me, and also, I won’t kill you.”
Only then did Patterson let out a secret sigh of relief.
“Almost twelve years ago, one time, the royal children of our Finlay Kingdom went to the Temple of Light, and in the Temple of Light, we saw your mother. Later, I sent people to capture your mother.”
Padson immediately said, “Actually, that wasn’t my intention, I just listened to someone else’s order.”
“Who?”
Linley immediately asked.
Patterson glanced at Linley before slowly saying, “That would be my elder brother, His Majesty Clyde, the current king of the Finlay Kingdom.”
“Clyde?”
Linley was stunned.
It was that Clyde, the pride of the Finlay Kingdom, known as the Golden Lion? The ninth level powerhouse Clyde?
“Yes, it’s Clyde.”
Patterson said with certainty, “But I know that Clyde holds your mother in very high regard, and he even told me that he couldn’t divulge this information no matter what, or else he would surely die.”
Linley’s voice grew more and more morose.
Linley looked at Patterson.
“What he said should be true.”
Drinkwater’s voice resounded in Linley’s mind, “I can feel the fluctuations of his soulforce.”
Linley’s heart was certain.
Patterson looked at Linley pleadingly, “Linley, can you spare my life? I promise that I will absolutely not divulge half a word about today’s events.”
Patterson’s gaze was full of expectation.
“Fine, I’ll keep my word.”
Linley’s dragon tail abruptly loosened.
Patterson’s entire body then fell to the ground, and a flash of ecstasy couldn’t help but appear on Patterson’s face as he looked at Linley with a gaze filled with gratitude.
Just at this moment, a black shadow flashed by.
“Ka-ching.”
The shadow rat ‘Bebe’ was biting down on Patterson’s neck, and Patterson looked at the near-by Bebe in horror. He had just escaped with his life, yet in an instant he was incredibly close to feeling the call of the underworld. Patterson recognized the shadow mouse as the very same little mouse that was often on Linley’s shoulder.
Patterson looked at Linley incredulously.
“I said I wouldn’t kill you, but I didn’t say that my magical beast wouldn’t kill you.”
Linley looked coldly at Patterson, whose blood kept bubbling from his throat, “By the way, just so you know, a few months ago someone lurked into your dukedom, and then you sent someone after him, and that person, that person, was my father!”
