Chapter 1049 – The Dawn is Quiet
Lumumba the man had a strong anti-white mindset, as Dobrynin had learned from this conversation. But for the Soviet Union, this was not a problem at all.
Because the Soviet Union was in the position of a challenger, and when in the position of a challenger, what was being contemplated was not necessarily that the Congo should bow down to the Soviet Union in the future, or at least now was not the time to consider it.
For the USSR, it was a great victory for the USSR to be able to get the Congo out of the control of imperialism. As for what would happen to relations between the Congo and the Soviet Union in the future, that was a matter for later.
After meeting with Lumumba, Dobrynin made a U-turn in his stance and directly picked up the issue of the stationing of the peacekeeping forces previously raised by the United States while demonstrating the integrity of Congo’s sovereignty at a time when the United States, Britain and France were tripping over each other.
At this point the U.S. showed a flexible position, as if Moscow had estimated that when the U.S. made the same proposal it was one issue, and when the Soviet Union made even the same exact proposal, it would become a different issue.
Thus, in the presence of Lumumba, the General Assembly of the United Nations witnessed a scene in which the Soviet Union proposed to maintain the integrity of the sovereignty of the Congo and to send peacekeeping troops to the Congo, while Britain, the United States and France played deaf and dumb and obstructed the move.
Lumumba had not been to the United Nations when the United States proposed the stationing of peacekeeping forces, so he did not know about it. But this time he had seen with his own eyes the ambition of the so-called free world to divide the Congo.
When he was young, Lumumba, like many colonists who tried to integrate into the free world, quickly drew a line in the sand between “black skin” and “black countries” in order to quickly realize a better life.
After all, no one wants to be discriminated against or oppressed. Later on, Lumumba is granted Belgian citizenship through his family’s connections, but that’s about it.
Lumumba gradually realized that no matter how hard he worked and how outstanding his performance was, his salary was always much lower than that of the whites, and his chances of promotion were far fewer than those of the whites. Even more than the same position than the white man, but also a lot less benefits, such as allowances, vacations, bonuses and so on and he has no chance, the leaders of the meeting, he is not qualified to participate.
In Lumumba there was an off-powder, back-stepping effect, and a great distrust of Belgium, and the free world as a whole, and in the United Nations venue he saw with his own eyes what Belgium, and the so-called Anglo-American-French free world, was really like.
Lumumba angrily took the stage and fiercely criticized Britain, America, France and Belgium, and then directly left the UN venue.
“If the sovereign integrity of the Congo can be guaranteed, I hope that the Soviet Union will consider sending a military force to stabilize the situation in the Congo.” After leaving the U.N. venue, Lumumba met Dobrynin again and put forward his request very bluntly.
“Mr. Lumumba, do you know that your kind of request is very dangerous.” Dobrynin looked at this Congolese Prime Minister, whose anger was overflowing, and said very sincerely, “This kind of request is likely to cost you your life, a few years ago Mr. Nkrumah, of the Gold Coast, died an unexplained death, and for a time the raging Gold Coast Independence Movement lay down. Imperialism is capable of anything, and it can be very easy to buy high officials within the Congo as spokesmen.”
Alan Wilson, far away in Lusaka, would never have guessed that he is always being mentioned these days, not just an independence movement leader, right? There’s no end to it, it has to be mentioned every now and then.
“For the sake of the intact Congo, there is nothing more I can do now.” Lumumba had a steely look in his gaze, “All they want is for Congo to be their cowboy forever, even if it becomes independent, to create wealth for them, and the Congolese will get nothing.”
As he said this, Lumumba remembered his experience more than a decade ago, when no matter how hard he worked, he could only get an even more meager paycheck than whites who worked much less, and now that he thought about it, how could it be any different for the entire Congo.
“Fighting for independence is very hard, and I’m glad Mr. Lumumba has such determination.” Dobrynin said with a tone of respect, “The Soviet Union is willing to help such a worthy leader of the country.”
Click …… Allen Wilson lowered his camera, looked with admiration at Hedy Lamarr, sitting half-dressed by the window, and boasted, “It seems I’m getting further and further down the path of art.”
“It’s on the road to shamelessness.” Hedy Lamarr’s face was undying, but she posed to match, she was no stranger to artistic photographs, it was just that only the man in front of her had this treatment for a photo of this scale.
The sun was sinking behind thick black clouds, and the light was dimming fast. But the pouring rain and the deepening night color could not quench the high emotions of the two men.
They had known each other for a short time, and she had accepted his request to make him a happy god. He still couldn’t believe that his luck was high. He couldn’t see anything he had done that was worth winning the love of this woman who was so lovely, articulate and exuberant that she was like a jewel that dazzled him.
How could Allen Wilson ignore the first vase who could feed on her face, and it was only a moment’s work before the idea of raising his head in homage, carrying a flinging stick, and cloven-hoofing his way through the world, grew stronger and stronger.
Oy! How could Hedy Lamarr not see it, with a soft sigh, but still waiting for the man to pay it forward. The battle was as fierce as a civil war in the Congo in the lightening witness.
Alan Wilson, more or less, was feeling that he had reached the good life he had imagined, and while it had caused many lives to be less than good from then on, it didn’t matter, thinking for himself shouldn’t be slammed.
These mornings, as long as he lay in bed, she found it hard to leave him, wanting nothing more than to snuggle up beside him, so that she could pass the hours lazily, but she did not want him to fear that she might be a burden, or think that she had lost her passion for the English gentleman.
The two of them were inseparable. So she smiled faintly, kissed the man again, and said, “You buy the chicken and come back, and I will cook it.”
“Still getting into the wife role pretty fast, dear.” Alan Wilson put on his pants, looked back to the jade body of the beautiful people, thinking that if you do not go out today, anyway, there is no big deal.
The so-called nothing important, nothing more than a Portugal to talk about the problem of the border, Northern Rhodesia and Angola’s borders, some minor flaws, the two colonies belonging to different countries, although separated by the Zambezi River, but not to the river as the border.
When Africa was first partitioned, the demarcation of the border could be said to be arbitrary, as long as the surface was passable. This also resulted in irrational borders after Africa’s independence, and conflicts in many countries.
Take the Congo, which is being watched by the world in front of us, the border of the Congo and the border on the map have long been changed after several decades, and a large piece of land in the eastern part of the Congo has been occupied by Paul Kagame, the sky-scraping fierce man from Rwanda.
Do not look at Rwanda on the map only a few tens of thousands of square kilometers, but in fact has long controlled more than dozens of times the country’s land. A large part of the land occupied by Paul Kagame is the Katanga province, the richest mineral province in Congo.
Completely bounded by the Zambezi River, Northern Rhodesia would be at a disadvantage, but in a defensive perspective there were advantages.
But in the course of the following days Allen Wilson abandoned the idea of redrawing the boundary, and not for any particular reason. Grace’s gang of Slavs, with a spirit of diligence and willingness to work, had long ago mined the western border.
According to Grace’s own words, it was they themselves who now had no idea how many mines there were in the area, let alone clearing them.
Trying to send welfare couldn’t even be done, Allen Wilson could only stifle a sigh of relief and inquired, “How many people can you pull into battle at one time without delaying your usual life.”
“Our population is limited after all.” When it really came time to take stock of how many cards he had in his hand, Grace was not as distraught as he had been, and gave a lesser number, “Thirty thousand men can be armed and set out directly in a week.”
“That’s a lot.” Alan Wilson grinned, Northern Rhodesia had nothing to do with democracy, it was more like a coalition junta based on Ustasha and Chetniks, factionalized by ethnicity.
Considering the population base of Northern Rhodesia, and the excellent matching mechanism of the African Region, 30,000 armed forces was actually perfectly adequate, Alan Wilson believed that there could be more when it really came to the need, after all, Grace had also said that this was the number of people for a week’s time.
Allen Wilson if the British Prime Minister, directly played the Queen, give Grace a Northern Rhodesia Festival Minister to do.
“You’re going to think about going to war now, are you?” Just as Alan Wilson was thinking about whether to ask the question you dare to confront the Soviets, Grace asked a new question.
“Not yet, let’s see how well the democracy fighters in Katanga Province who support the free world can fight, if not, your dedication will be needed in order to ensure that the newly independent Congo does not jeopardize the order of the free world.”
Alan Wilson opened his mouth to signal that there was no need to rush yet, he had already gotten, from Andrew Cohen, the British representative to the UN, the latest information on the UN venue.
It was hard to say whether he trusted Andrew Cohen or the Culture Czar who was far away in Moscow, if he really wanted to be more serious, he still trusted the Culture Czar a little more, after all, the relationship between the two men was extraordinary, and the friendship of those who had been on a rocket ride wouldn’t fade so quickly.
The fact is also exactly the same, the Soviet Union’s state system wants to hide their ideas, to do God knows what is very easy, this is the free world slamming the transparency of the problem, although the transparency of the free world is also an illusion, but it does not delay the slamming of the Soviet Union.
While Lumumba was pointing fingers at the UN, the Soviet Union was already getting its personnel ready to go to the Congo. With Lumumba’s return to the Congo from the U.N., these experts in aid of construction were put into a state of readiness.
