Chapter 1476: Europe Surrenders
Seventy Whitehall, Alan Wilson looked like an old monk, listened to the latest message about the war in the Middle East, that is, the news of Israel’s nuclear weapons, and then nodded and said, “The reception of the representatives of the Arab countries must be done, but can not be too full of words, say that the Arab countries are already an independent country, Britain can provide Europe and Arab countries Meetings, but what can be negotiated, but also Europe’s own fight, the colonial era has passed. No one can force other countries by force.”
“Secretary General, Israel says it has nuclear weapons.” Wick opened his mouth, is it not important for Israel to announce that it has nuclear weapons? When did even nuclear weapons not matter.
“Let’s say it dares to throw them, send someone to appease the Arab states during the bilateral dialog.”
Alan Wilson waved his hand impatiently, “Do you really think your country is a player in the world? It’s one thing to claim to have nuclear weapons, it’s quite another to dare to throw them. Israel’s greatest protection is not nuclear weapons at all, but the fact that there was ethnic cleansing of Jews in Europe, which resulted in a certain sense in Israel being taken care of by this biased public opinion.”
“But in reality, is Israel treating the Palestinians any differently than the Germans treated the Jews in the first place? The things that Israel does, with a month’s worth of high-frequency coverage in Britain, are much more useful than how many more airplanes or tanks the Arab world has.”
“It’s something we give a formal official diplomatic letter saying we know about, and can’t help with anything else, but it’s a safe bet that the USSR and the US will be trading barbs in the shadows around the issue of Israeli nuclear weapons. And what can Britain manage now? The oil embargo.”
What Britain shouldn’t care about doesn’t matter at all with Alan Wilson, there are other spin-offs from the Palestinian issue, and at the current pace of the war, the best that Israel and the countries involved in the war can fight for is a Treaty of Nerchinsk, which is about as good as it gets.
What is the essence of the Treaty of Nerchinsk? Qing, “This treaty is pretty fair, but it seems like a bit of a loss when you think about it.”
Imperial Russia, “This treaty seems to be fairly fair, but it always feels as if it’s a bit of a loss.”
As for the Mongols, according to Hugo, “One day two robbers broke into our homeland, one robbing the property and the other setting fire to it. It seemed that after victory, it was time to strike and steal. Where there was not only a vast land, but also mountains of cattle and sheep, a great deal of success and a great harvest, the two victors held hands and shook hands with a smile, and this is the story of the two robbers, which were called Imperial Russia and the Qing Dynasty.”
When the Qing and Imperial Russia finally shook hands and made peace, there was no consideration of the fact that the area was the traditional range of the Mongols, just as now, is there a country that really cares about Palestine?
Jordan actually wants the West Bank under its jurisdiction, not Palestinian statehood, and there is no difference between Jordan’s and Israel’s quests in that regard.
As for the Gaza Strip, the Kingdom of Egypt pretty much feels the same way, that the Arabs want to destroy Israel not because it’s Palestinian land, but because the land is Arab land.
To be more specific it is Egyptian land, Jordanian land, Syrian land.
The audacity to destroy Israel is not there for everyone, but the audacity to destroy Palestine in the name of destroying Israel is not only there but big.
Israel’s nuclear weapons used for deterrence may be an opportunity for a Middle East version of the Treaty of Nerchinsk, but if one dares to throw them out, for example, to give one to Cairo, Damascus, Baghdad a one-state capital, then it depends on whether the three million citizens of Israel run fast enough.
It might be a bit alarmist to say that Jews have since disappeared from the world, after all, there are quite a few Jews in the US, but Jews in Israel would probably be hard to keep left behind.
And there won’t be any talk of World War II victims, the reputation is expected to be in line with the already capped Third Reich.
There was an eerie two-day calm on the Middle East battlefield, with Cairo in the morning and Riyadh in the afternoon, and British Foreign Secretary Patrick Gordon Walker, who had already turned the Middle East around in three days, took a bunch of special envoys from Arab countries, and arrived at the capital of the country hosting this EC summit, Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, at a brisk pace.
At the Windsor Castle Hotel in Copenhagen, Pamela Mountbatten received the envoys of the Arab countries, greeting Prince Abdullah, the envoy of the Kingdom of Iraq and a heavyweight member of the royal family, “The Prince has traveled a long way this time, and in the friendship of a landlord, how can I not take care of it.”
“Pamela it’s been a long time, thank you for arranging this.” Prince Abdullah immediately nodded his head in greeting to Pamela Mountbatten, who represented endless money, “Your Highness’s hotel is very nice, it’s a good place to stay, but I don’t know what your purpose is?”
Pamela Mountbatten scanned the envoys in Arabian robes and explained with a slight smile, “It’s just pure hospitality, I don’t have any requests, just a gap back to Australia to see old friends, I’ve also talked to Total before, both of us understand the current situation. There is absolutely no intention of any pressure being applied, and Elizabeth, from a personal point of view, would prefer that the personal relationship between the two parties not be affected.”
“We are naturally aware of Her Majesty’s regard for the relationship between the two sides.” Prince Abdullah immediately straightened his face, “Defending each other’s interests, it is wonderful that Her Majesty understands.”
Pamela Mountbatten’s appearance this time was only to defend personal relations, as for the Arab and European game, it had nothing to do with her.
And from the benefit point of view, the benefit of the increase in the price of oil, there will also be Her Majesty’s share, the Arab envoys, including Prince Abdullah, very much appreciated Her Majesty’s understanding, and hoped that Pamela Mountbatten could express her respect for Queen Elizabeth.
“No problem at all, our friendship will not be discolored by this incident.” Pamela Mountbatten nodded her head and then stated that she had prepared very halal food and hoped that this conversation would go well.
Yemen’s foreign minister, Bouteflika, spoke up and inquired, “This lady, is the richest woman in the world.”
“Perhaps it is not necessary to add the prefix woman.” Prince Abdullah replied, certainly more deserving of the name, at least than Onassis, the Greek ship king with the title of richest man in the world.
Despite the news of Israel’s release that it has nuclear weapons of its own, there was not the slightest disruption to the bilateral meeting of the EC countries and the Arab League, which was chaired by the Danish Prime Minister, Mr. Jørnsen.
He ushered the envoys from the oil-producing countries into the largest chamber in the Danish Parliament, and began his speech with an apology, saying, “For reasons best known to all, this hall is cold. The entire parliament building is not heated.”
The well-known reason is, of course, that Europe is in the midst of an oil embargo, and Denmark is now responding to the oil crisis with initiatives calling for energy-saving packages. Including today’s conference hall heating also to save savings, Jørnsen is considered more decent, this era Europe in the face of the energy problem, but also really take out some of the methods.
Decades later that time, in addition to price increases and all sorts of whims, there are initiatives can not be many ways.
The bilateral dialog began in this atmosphere, with Syrian Foreign Minister Bouteflika, a close ally of the Soviet Union, trusted in this bargaining with Europe, as a speaking representative of the Arab League, to discuss the solution of this oil crisis with the EC countries.
He expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, “I can say with certainty that the contacts between Europe and us will go on and on. This meeting is a good start; after this, Europe and the Arab countries will be able to ‘strengthen’ their relations, as they are often called.”
Alan Wilson, who was in London to benefit the community, had his arm around Princess Margaret’s waist, and had just put the phone down with his other hand, and nudged his sister-in-law, and the two of them engaged in a verbal sparring match before speaking with gratitude, “If nothing else, the EEC is about to capitulate.”
“Surrender to a bunch of countries that raise camels for herding?” Princess Margaret muttered disgruntledly, “I seem to recall reports that at a previous EC meeting, it was said that these oil-producing countries, which possess only worthless power, should be shown what it means to be an industrialized nation.”
“That might push the Arab world toward the Soviet Union, and there are already a number of Arab countries on good terms with the Soviet Union.” Alan Wilson was a little embarrassed, his sister-in-law had just said something a little like when they’d first met, that nasty look on her face.
Or was it that Her Highness had always been like this, but she had just tightened up in front of him.
Princess Margaret said kindly, if you know the king comment on this matter, must not come to a sleepy Joe, is kneeling all over the world, begging for oil?
Strengthening relations with Arab countries is the easiest thing for Europeans to do. They are hell bent on seeing the embargo end quickly. The Europeans’ oil reserves have been drastically reduced due to the oil hike and the rapid suppression of oil production by the oil exporting countries.
They are prepared to do what the Arabs want. They just want the Arabs to tell them exactly what they should do in exchange for oil, and what exactly should they do?
The progress of the dialog between the EEC and the Arab League was hailed by the British Times as “Britain’s embodiment of leadership in resolving this oil crisis, contributing to this unprecedented crisis.”
The front page headline of the New York Times on this day was something else entirely, “Britain Leads European Nations, Surrenders to Arabs.”
