On August 25, 1952, in the French capital, Paris, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), a group of fourteen member nations, was formally established, with Lee Kee Woo assuming the role of Commander-in-Chief of NATO, and British Air Marshal Charles Porter assuming the role of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of NATO.
