“Watch your words!” Chen Shi, who had been insulted as a “jerk driver,” lifted his head.

“Say what you want! I don’t care.” Chen Shi turned to Lin Dongxue. “Anything we missed?”

“This case has solid evidence. We might take him back to the scene for a re-enactment tomorrow. Then it’s up to the trial.”

“I’ll fully cooperate!” Ji Chunma said. “I’d love the death penalty right away. I’m forty this year, and I’ve enjoyed everything. I don’t want to suffer in prison. I’d rather die quickly and be reborn rich.”

“You’re like a pig unafraid of boiling water,” Chen Shi remarked.

“Say what you want. My life is richer than ‘Dream of the Red Chamber’.”

“Cao Xueqin would crawl out of his grave to beat you up if he heard that,” Chen Shi said. “By the way, if you want a quick death, why not confess to more crimes? Get a heavier sentence; prison life is tough without meat.”

Ji Chunma pondered, looking at the empty meal box in his hand. “Bring me another meal, and I’ll tell you about some people I killed in 2014.”

Lin Dongxue and Chen Shi left the interrogation room, leaving another team to handle him. Outside, Lin Dongxue glanced at the monitor, saying, “Look at his smug face. He’s an animal!”

Lin Dongxue found the sight of this fat man revolting, but he didn’t disgust her for long. Soon, he was transferred to a detention center, awaiting legal proceedings.

“March 15th.”

“There’s an opportunity now. Call me ‘senior,’ and this is yours.” Chen Shi playfully tapped Lin Qiupu’s face with the check.
