Chapter 0371 – Han Bao’er
It was the first time Chen Ge had seen such a woman, so beautiful that it was somewhat abnormal.
It was almost impossible to pick out a single flaw in her looks and body, and that was the most terrifying part.
Chen Ge recalled the case description about Han Bao’er, this patient who lived in room six suffered from body deformity phobia.
Always exaggerating the defects of her body, she strongly believed that a certain part of her body was unattractive, and even resorted to extreme behaviors for this reason.
The case stated that the perfect woman in front of her had tried to cut off her fingers during her hospitalization because she could not fix her nails symmetrically.
She had the most perfect appearance, but that heart had long since become different from normal, and instead of being a beautiful woman, she was more like a monster in the skin of the most beautiful person.
Since she appeared, the atmosphere in the room was very different from earlier, all the lights were turned off.
Amidst the darkness, children of a dry and thin build crawled out from under her feet, all of them had a faint thread of blood connecting them to her.
”These are your dependencies?” Chen Ge took a step back, his eyes swept over and after realizing that there were no red clothes, his hanging heart dropped back into his stomach, “There are a lot of them, and raising so many brats is a heavy burden on yourself, isn’t it?”
”They were all my children once, that’s why I was able to make them obedient.” Han Bao’er’s words had a deep meaning as she looked at the little ghosts on the ground and on Li Zheng’s body, her gaze filled with pain.
”Children?” Chen Ge looked at those little ghosts, one or two of them had faces that roughly resembled Han Bao’er somewhat, he vaguely understood what was going on and felt a chill, “It seems that you are indeed very sick.”
”Yeah, if I wasn’t sick, how could I be with these filthy things, how could I be talking to you people who emit a foul odor?” Han Bao’er scratched her arm with her fingernails, all the wounds were neat and tidy, blood oozing out, looking at it with a cruel beauty, “I hate all dirty things, but unfortunately this world itself is dirty. The best thing I can think of is to use these dirty things to destroy this dirty world.”
Blood dripped as the red line between her and those brats became more visible.
”I don’t know what you’ve been through, so I’m not qualified to critique what you’ve done, maybe you have a reason for doing it, but that doesn’t mean you’re right.” Chen Ge pressed the repeater switch and reached out to grab the handle of the skull-crushing hammer, “All of you in the Weird Tales Association are insane, wanting to relieve your inner pain and choosing to heal yourselves, which I can understand, but you’re using the wrong method of healing.”
”Treatment method?” Han Bao’er tugged at the red blood in her hand.
”You’ve lived too much, it’s time to let go.”
”You are quite calm? I guess you must be scared in your heart and purposely pretended to be calm wanting to wait for the police to come and save you, right?” Han Bao’er thought she had seen through Chen Ge’s trick, and without any more nonsense with Chen Ge, she commanded the little ghosts on the ground to charge towards him.
At the same time, Qiu Mang also picked up the fruit knife on the coffee table, but he consciously didn’t get close to Han Bao’er and went around to the other side like a servant.
”Other than the ghost lying on the policeman’s shoulder, you can do whatever you want with the others.” Chen Ge’s back was against the wall, and he had no way back, but looking at him, he wasn’t in any hurry at all.
Terrified, he spoke to the air, as if he was scared crazy and talking to himself.
Those ghost children were crawling on the ground, fast and numerous, and when they were about to surround them, a blood-red figure quietly appeared, stomping the little ghosts on the ground into black smoke with a single foot.
Xu Yin’s hands hung low, blood seeping from his wounds and dripping down his red tunic.
”Red coat? Didn’t the red coat on you fall into slumber?” The line of blood between Han Bao’er and the ghost children began to tremble, those ghost children of hers were in fear, and awe passed through to her, causing her to blurt out without much thought.
”Looks like you recognized me a long time ago.” Chen Ge was a bit surprised, after all, this was the first time he had seen Han Bao’er.
But on second thought, it was right, there were only two people left in the Weird Tales Association, and the president would definitely tell Han Bao’er Chen Ge’s information.
”You’ve always had two red coats on you!” The blood filaments under Han Bao’er’s control trembled even more, as if those little ghosts wanted to break free from their bonds.
”Yeah, I never said I only had one red coat either?”
Chen Ge let Xu Yin deal with Han Bao’er, and took out the Skull Crushing Hammer from his backpack himself, gripping it tightly with both hands, the hideous head of the hammer draped in blood filaments.
”The space is narrow, it’s a bit hard to utilize such a big hammer, never mind, I won’t count that much.”
Facing the fitness trainer whose height and size far exceeded his own, Chen Ge didn’t dare to be careless at all, flipping through the anime picture book and summoning the English teacher, the gambler, and Old Zhou.
The situation changed in a matter of moments, Qiu Mang clutched the palm-sized fruit knife in a cold sweat: “What the hell are you?”
”I’m just a guy who runs a haunted house.” Chen Ge glanced out towards the corridor, “We can’t delay any longer, we have to take care of everything before the police arrive.”
Chen Ge and the three ghosts from the comic book struck at the same time, and soon the room resounded with the sound of a man’s screams, as well as the sound of bones breaking.
There was the sound of a door opening in the corridor, seemingly a nearby neighbor trying to come over to check, Chen Ge quickly ran to the door and unlocked the security door under Qiu Mang’s despairing gaze.
”Now at least no one can save you guys until the police come.”
Chen Ge first used Yan Danian’s ability to drag the cell phone ghost into the middle of the comic book, then he stopped caring about Xu Yin and let him let go.
Now that Xu Yin had stopped feeding on ordinary ghosts and monsters, he followed Chen Ge’s instructions and chased those little ghost children all over the house.
Those ghost children were connected to Han Bao’er’s bloodline, and every time one was exterminated, a baby’s handprint would appear on her body.
From a long distance away, Chen Ge could feel the strong resentment from that handprint, and the one that Han Bao’er’s children wanted to take revenge on the most was actually her.
”They are your children, you shouldn’t force your misfortune on them.”
Chen Ge looked at Han Bao’er, sometimes beauty was also a sin, because this world still had selfishness and ugliness where the sun didn’t shine.
The reason why Han Bao’er was driven mad, Chen Ge wasn’t too sure about, but he knew that behind every madman there was an unbearable memory that was the root cause of their breakdown.
It was also because of that painful memory that couldn’t be erased that they went for even crazier and crueler means to seek redemption.
There were more and more baby handprints on Han Bao’er’s body, and those dead ghost children seemed to want to drag their own mothers into hell with them.
One by one, the threads of blood broke, and when the last child ghost was exterminated by Xu Yin, Han Bao’er finally couldn’t take it anymore, and she fell to the ground clutching her head, the handprints of a child surfacing on her originally perfect features.
