Chapter 0599 – If I Say
The park opened at nine o’clock, leaving Chen Ge little time, he decided to go over and explore now.
”Team Li, don’t be careless, this person is very dangerous, he’s definitely not as harmless as he appears, don’t treat him like an ordinary psychopath.” Chen Ge didn’t know when Jia Ming would wake up, and after instructing Li Zheng with a few words, he left the ward.
Taking a taxi to the place where Jia Ming had first rented, it was just dawn and there were very few people on the street, occasionally a few cars could be seen passing by.
Chen Ge hadn’t slept all night, first going to the rehabilitation school to chase the water ghost, then entering the reservoir to retrieve the corpse, and finally returning to the hospital to cooperate with the police in investigating Jia Ming, the entire night was fully utilized by him without a moment’s rest.
With a foggy head and drowsiness, Chen Ge took a nap in the cab, only to be woken up by the driver when he arrived at the place.
Sleeping for only a few minutes didn’t help much at all, Chen Ge felt as if his head was filled with water.
Rubbing his face, he entered the alley, a chilly air came over him, probably due to the layout of the building, it was difficult for the light from outside to shine into the middle of the alley.
”No wonder Jia Ming didn’t dare to stay after escaping from the small building, he kept running to the road before relaxing.”
This is the old city center, the surrounding buildings are not high, most of them are some two or three-story small buildings, looking very shabby, among them there are some walls with the word “demolition” written in red.
”Those things that Jia Ming told in the hospital should have happened a few years ago, I hope the old lady didn’t move away and the house is still there.”
Based on the address provided by Li Zheng, he groped around in the alley for half a day before finding the old man’s house.
The neighbors on the left and right had all moved away, and one had a big hole broken in the window, so it shouldn’t have been inhabited for a long time.
”This place is pretty hard to find.” Chen Ge entered the hallway and saw a few pots of flowers in the corner, probably because they hadn’t been exposed to sunlight for a long time, the flowers were mostly withered and the branches and leaves were withered.
”Anyone?” Chen Ge knocked on the door of the room on the first floor and shouted softly.
No one answered, and he was the only echo in the hallway.
Twisting his head towards the upstairs, Chen Ge always felt that there was something strange in this small building.
He tried pulling the door of his room, and the security door on the first floor was directly pulled open.
”Unlocked?” Chen Ge was curious in his heart and opened the security door completely.
A strong musty smell came out from the room, which was stacked with some old objects, the sofa was still the same kind of cloth-covered sofa from twenty years ago, and the wall clock and low dining table looked a bit old.
”There’s no dust on the doorknob, and the clock in the house moves normally, there should be someone living in this house.” Without permission, Chen Ge wouldn’t just enter someone else’s house, he shouted outside again, there was still no response from inside the house, but there was a special sound coming from the roof, like a nearly out of breath leather ball rolling on the ground.
”On the third floor?” Chen Ge walked towards the upper floor, and when he passed by the second floor, he noticed that the door to the room on the second floor was also open, but there was no odor inside, as if someone cleaned it every day.
After stopping for a while at the door of the room on the second floor, Chen Ge continued upwards.
The window at the corner of the building was covered by a black cloth, and there were no lights installed on the walls; it was already light outside, but the building was still dark.
”Anyone?”
The odd voice drilled into his ears, and Chen Ge, as if he were one of those protagonists in a horror movie who was desperately trying to die, took one step towards the place where the voice came from.
Stepping on the steps, his body moved towards a darker place as he held his hand on the railing, feeling the coldness coming from his palm.
There wasn’t any light there on the third floor of the old house, Chen Ge took out his own cell phone and turned on the flashlight.
He shone it at the place where the sound came from, and something scurried past as the light swept by.
Muscles tensed, Chen Ge scanned the third floor, where the door to the room had been dismantled, the house was filled with all sorts of miscellaneous items, and the most conspicuous thing was a dusty piano.
The keys were much less, as if an old man whose teeth were about to fall out had opened his mouth.
”Their family should have had a good life before, having a small three-story building and being able to afford a piano.” Chen Ge walked over to the piano and pressed his fingers on the keys, the imagined pleasant sound did not appear.
Chen Ge looked inside the piano, a large pile of hair was stuffed inside the piano, and I don’t know if it was an illusion, Chen Ge realized that those hairs seemed to be still flipping and shrinking towards the inside of the piano.
Reaching his hand inside the piano, Chen Ge grabbed a handful of hair with a calm expression, “There’s black and white, and the edges of the breaks are neat, like they’ve been cut off by someone, were these specially collected by the landlord’s old lady?”
The landlord’s daughter-in-law was still young when the accident happened, her hair couldn’t have been white.
”Why did the old lady stuff so much hair in the piano?” Chen Ge threw the hair in his hand back into the piano, but the moment he retracted his arm, his sight caught a gray face flashing through the pile of hair, and it seemed to have been lying in the hair just now, looking at Chen Ge.
”What is it?” The third floor was the room of the dead souls, and the appearance of some paranormal phenomena seemed normal to Chen Ge.
He didn’t panic and set his cell phone aside, aiming the light at the inside of the piano, then reached into the pile of hair with both hands, “Are you still in there?”
No one knew what was hidden underneath the hair, and no one knew what they would feel out later, and the feeling of touching your fingers to the hair was not a pleasant one.
After rummaging for half a day, Chen Ge still didn’t find the other side, he took back his hands and looked at the clock next to him, which was very similar to the watch in the old lady’s house on the first floor, except that the only thing on the dial was the second hand moving.
Turning round and round, but the time on the watch did not change, fixed on three forty-four minutes.
”Is it three in the afternoon, or three in the morning, what has happened at this time?” While Chen Ge’s attention was attracted by the clock, something ran out from underneath the piano, the sound of a leather ball rolling resounded in the house, and by the time Chen Ge reacted, the sound had already reached the second floor.
”Running away? No, he should be guiding me.” Chen Ge returned to the second floor, he always felt that something was staring at his back at this moment.
The voice disappeared on the second floor, and even more coincidentally, the angle at which that door on the second floor opened was significantly different from earlier.
”Hiding in a room?” Chen Ge pushed open the door to the room on the second floor, which was the room in the middle of Jia Ming’s story.
However, unlike what Jia Ming had described, all the windows in this room were boarded up, and although it was cleaned up, it always gave people a very spooky feeling.
Entering the house, Chen Ge went straight to the bathroom that had the heaviest Yin Qi in a building.
Pushing open the door of the room, he briefly scanned the room before stopping in front of the mirror.
Staring at himself in the mirror, Chen Ge watched for a long time.
If a person looked at himself in the mirror for a long time, his brain would create an illusion that the person in the mirror was becoming less and less like himself, and even an indescribable sense of strangeness and horror would appear.
After looking at the mirror for five minutes, Chen Ge did not find any problem with the mirror, he guessed that the shadow left after accomplishing his purpose and did not leave any hidden hand in the mirror.
However, being cautious, Chen Ge used his Yin pupil once more when he was about to leave, and the moment his pupils narrowed, his gaze caught a pair of gray legs.
A child with a head that was about to droop to the ground was standing in the bathroom doorway looking at him.
Jerking around, Chen Ge turned back but found nothing behind him, he glanced at the mirror again, this time, even if he used his Yin pupil, there was no figure of the child in the mirror.
”Where did it go?”
Chen Ge’s face changed slightly when he walked out of the bathroom and looked towards the living room, the door to the living room had been closed.
The windows were boarded up, and now that the door to the room had been allowed to close as well, the room was oppressive and airless.
”Did the bear boy do this?” He walked to the living room room door and twisted the lock, only to find that the door was unlocked and could not be opened without a key.
While Chen Ge was obsessing over the door lock, a soft thud came from somewhere in the direction of the living room, followed by the rustle of electricity drilling into Chen Ge’s ears.
He turned around to look, and in the dark and depressing room, the TV that was originally turned off was turned on by someone unknown.
A blue and white distorted image appeared on the screen, and from time to time, it would flash a few times.
”This scene appeared in Jia Ming’s story.” Chen Ge’s voice was calm, though his heartbeat accelerated slightly.
Before his words fell, the TV screen flickered even more, and a blurry shadow could be vaguely seen amidst the blue and white image.
The shadow seemed to be slowly approaching Chen Ge, at first it was only the size of a fist, gradually becoming as big as a head, and as she continued to get closer, Chen Ge could see it more and more clearly.
It was the figure of a woman, her body twisted into a twisted shape, her clothes strangled tightly into her skin, her jaw was broken, and her eyes were about to stare out of their sockets.
The TV screen flickered faster and faster, and every time it flickered past, the blurry woman would be one step closer to him, and Chen Ge’s heartbeat began to speed up uncontrollably.
At the point where the woman became one size larger than the real person, and the TV screen could no longer illuminate her entire person, Chen Ge no longer hesitated, molded his hand back, and whispered two words out of his mouth.
”Xu Yin!”
Chen Ge’s heart thumped as his fingers reached behind his back but felt empty.
He suddenly remembered that he had only received a call from Li Zheng in the morning to go to the hospital to cooperate with the police investigation.
Time was tight, his backpack had gotten wet at the reservoir, plus it was almost dawn and he was going to the police, so he couldn’t possibly be in danger, so he hadn’t carried his backpack.
Stiff fingers hovered behind him, Chen Ge slowly raised his head and looked at the TV.
Cold sweat slid down drop by drop, and bit by bit, his line of sight lifted up, and he finally saw the screen.
There was only a flickering and distorted blue and white image on the TV screen, but the woman’s figure was gone.
The sense of oppression instantly disappeared, Chen Ge breathed a sigh of relief, but just then, a tingle came from the back of his neck, as if his hair had unintentionally touched his skin.
His eyelids fluttered gently, a scene Chen Ge had also heard in Jia Ming’s story.
He slowly turned his body, and as he swept his remaining light, a pair of miserable white eyes were looking at him ghostly behind him.
The woman in the TV screen just now, whose body was twisted into a twisted shape, whose jaw was broken and whose eyes were almost bulging out of their sockets, was standing right behind him.
His face gently twitched, and Chen Ge felt as if the air was frozen as he looked at the woman’s disheveled, seemingly frantically yanked hair and slowly took a step back.
His foot let something trip and Chen Ge sat down on the sofa, he looked at the ghostly figure that was getting closer and closer, and spoke almost instinctively, “If I say that I’m here to help you, do you believe me?”
