Chapter 1097 – The Real Purpose of the Black Cell Phone?
The diary in room 0011 was missing many pages, so Chen Ge could only read it while trying to guess.
It took nearly half an hour for him to finish reading that diary.
”Well? Any discoveries?” Wen Qing noticed Chen Ge’s abnormality, in her heart Chen Ge could remain calm no matter what he encountered, but it was such a person whose expression changed many times while reading that diary.
”I understood something very crucial, all the fruits that I see now may all be because of the causes that were planted in the first place.”
Chen Ge stuffed Dr. Gao’s diary into his backpack and put it together with Zhang Ya’s storybook, his physical state was very poor and his mood was very up and down.
From the Weird Tales Association to the eastern suburb of Liwan Town, the Underworld Fetus and Dr. Gao maintained a tacit understanding between them, and Chen Ge did not understand it at first, but only now did he realize the reason for it.
”Perhaps in the beginning the members of the Weird Talk Association were patients who escaped from that hospital, they knew they were sick and wanted to be cured in their own way.”
”All the patients in that hospital didn’t have their own names, only their sick numbers, and the same is true for the Weird Tales Society, each member of the Society only has their own number.”
”There are many more points of similarity, it turns out that certain clues have been presented to me from the very beginning.”
Chen Ge sat on the sofa, resting his chin in deep thought, “Dr. Gao knew that the Underworld Fetus was called Chen Ge, so when I went to the Weird Talk Association for the first time, he didn’t make things difficult for me, and even allowed me to successfully join the association. That was the only time he could round me up, and even with Zhang Ya, I couldn’t go up against that many association members at the same time at that time.”
”Does Dr. Gao know some other secrets, such as the information of the numbered top ten patients? Could his being so interested in me be related to the top ten patients as well?”
Chen Ge was sinking into his thoughts when the building suddenly shook as if it was an earthquake!
This time, the tremor was stronger than the previous three times, and it lasted for an exceptionally long time.
”Another ragdoll carcass has been found in another building?”
Changes appeared within the building, the fishy stench in the air slowly intensified, and everyone felt as if there was an extra lock around their necks, making it difficult to even breathe.
Strange noises kept coming from outside the building, as if there was some kind of monster crashing into the building, and a hissing sound of }people drilled into their ears, which could be heard clearly even if they covered their ears with death.
Waiting for the building to stop shaking, Chen Ge took out his comic book at the first opportunity, “The remnants of the ragdoll are the pillars of the world behind this door, and when the foundation is shaken, the world will become unstable, and the bonds my employees are bound by will continue to get smaller.”
Flipping through the comic book, blood flowed on it, each page was crawling with blood, and a hideous ghostly face could be vaguely seen surfacing.
Seeing such a horrifying image, Chen Ge finally revealed a smile, “Soon, they’re about to come out!”
With a slightly maniacal tone, Chen Ge mumbled to himself as he held the bloody comic book, with a smile on his face that normal people could not understand.
Wen Qing and Xiao Sun both subconsciously moved away from the sofa, they felt that the current Chen Ge was a bit scary, that aura he had on him was completely not inferior to the monsters behind the door.
”The fourth vibration should be the work of the other outsiders, they now have the location of the two ragdoll remnants, so it seems like I need to speed up as well.”
Standing up, Chen Ge put his own bag on his back and dragged the skull-crushing hammer towards the door.
”Chen Ge, take another break, you’re walking a bit unsteadily.” Wen Qing wanted to assist Chen Ge, but Chen Ge refused.
”It’s fine.”
Walking out of room 0011, Chen Ge arrived at the last room on the first floor, the number on the door of this room was 0005.
”Patient number 5?” Chen Ge had thought that patient number 11 should be the limit of the ragdoll’s memory, he didn’t expect to also see patient number 5’s room within this building, “According to the descriptions in those diaries from before, numbering the top ten patients and the other patients are two completely different concepts, but since patient number 5’s room appeared here, would there be patient number 1’s room upstairs? ”
Heart thumping, Chen Ge didn’t know why, as long as he thought of patient number one, the blood in his entire body started to speed up.
Pushing open the door of room 0005, Chen Ge entered the house.
All of the items in room 0005 were all covered in a layer of blood, the furniture was severely damaged, and there was barely a single intact item to be found in the house.
”The one who lives in this house is definitely a vandal.” Wen Qing carefully avoided the trash on the floor and walked over to Chen Ge.
”Don’t get too far away from me, the three of us will look around the house together to see if there are any important clues.”
The first three wards had been painted, although there was also a large bloodstain in the house, but at least it was covered up, ward 5 was completely different, not even bothering to cover it up, the main color of the entire room was black and red.
Chen Ge looked around, he didn’t find a diary in this room, but he saw a lot of small words scratched out with fingernail snaps on the walls of the bedroom.
Most of these words had been covered with blood scabs and looked very scary.
”I really don’t know in what state he wrote this, this is too crazy.” Xiao Sun hid at the very back, his worldview had been crushed over and over again today, to the point where there wasn’t even a crumb left.
While Xiao Sun and Wen Qing were marveling, Chen Ge had already walked over to the wall, and while he carefully cleaned up the blood stains on the wall, he began to read the words on it.
”I’m starting to forget a lot of things, a few days ago I remembered my name, but now all that’s left in my mind is a number.”
”I know I’m forgetting more and more things, but there’s one thing I can’t get out of my head – kill Dean!”
”I don’t know why I’m having this thought or why this thought is in my head, maybe Dean is responsible for turning me into this, but what exactly did he do to me? Why can’t I remember?”
”The new roommate who moved in died next to my bed when I woke up. There was no one else in the room, so excluding suicide, it would have been me who killed him, but why don’t I have any memory of it?”
”The doctor said my condition is serious, but why don’t they treat me, just keep changing my roommate for me so that I wake up to a different body every morning.”
”I got used to seeing corpses every day when I opened my eyes until one day my wife moved in and she was as beautiful as ever.”
”I asked the doctor about my wife’s condition and he just said she was sick and didn’t tell me any more.”
”I tried to communicate with my wife, but she couldn’t say a word, I could tell she was scared, she was afraid of her strange surroundings, she was afraid of me.”
”Why would she be afraid of me? She was clearly my favorite person, how could I possibly hurt her?”
”I didn’t sleep that night, and when morning came, my wife was still cowering in the corner, and she was alive!”
”I overcame myself, I slapped on the iron door, wanting the doctors to put my wife in another ward, but the only echo in the empty corridor was my own.”
”What to do? No one told me the answer, I tried everything to keep myself awake, but I was still getting sleepier and sleepier.”
”I forget when I fell asleep and when I opened my eyes again, I was sent to the other side of the door.”
”In the deepest part of hell, the line between life and death became blurred, I was awake less and less, and most of the time I didn’t know what I was doing, or that I wasn’t me at all, and that there was a monster hidden inside of me.”
”All the patients and doctors around me had seen the monster, I was the only one who hadn’t.”
”Everyone was afraid to see that monster, only I was incredibly eager to want to see it, because I had to ask if my wife was still alive?”
”Whenever I was awake, those doctors would send me to bear all kinds of curses, each one stripped from strangers who had died from the curse, which carried their memories and despair.”
”To bear someone else’s curse was to carry their past, something that was painful to me, but seemed to be sustenance to the monster inside me.”
”Muddling through life behind the doors, I had only a few simple words left in my head, kill the dean, my wife, my patients, and just when I thought I was going to stay that way, I met a doctor in a hospital gown.”
”His last name was Gao, and he was followed by a rag doll that reeked of a stench that was so strong it was indescribable.”
”We were all imprisoned on the nineteenth floor of hell, a world of black and red where there were no friends or loved ones and where it was a very dangerous thing to even venture to speak because no one knew what would happen next. I had a hint of pity in my eyes when I saw him because I knew that when I woke up again, he would probably be a corpse.”
”Opening my eyes again, I woke up from my lethargy, not realizing that the doctor was standing right next to me and that he was still alive! That means my wife could be alive too!”
”He seemed to possess the ability to read minds, and before I could speak, he took the initiative to mention my wife.”
”It was from his mouth that I realized what I had actually done.”
”My wife was dead, killed by the hands of the monster in my body.”
”I began to hate my body, and I thought about taking the monster with me to my death, but Dr. Gao stopped me.”
”He convinced me that it wasn’t my fault for killing my wife, it was the monster’s fault, and that monster was planted in my body by Dean, so it was all Dean’s fault!”
”I could die, but that would be after killing Dean.”
”After talking to Dr. Gao, I finally understood why I kept having words like – kill Dean – lingering in my mind, and the culprit was him! He had to die!”
”I began to pretend to cooperate with the hospital’s treatment, and at Dr. Gao’s suggestion, I pretended to be in a coma, pretending to be my other self.”
”In order to convince the doctors of my poor performance, Dr. Gao suggested that I kill the first doctor who entered the house. I did so, and it was considered my first kill.”
”Ironic, isn’t it, that I, with blood-stained and sinful hands, killed for the first time in order to pretend to be a monster, and at that time I didn’t realize that once something starts, it’s hard to stop it later.”
”All of the night doctor’s reactions were within Dr. Ko’s expectations, and for the first time I was sent to the deepest depths of hell in a fully conscious state.”
”Opening the blackened iron door, I saw a monster with an entire hospital on its back.”
”It moved through an infinite black mist, and it had a face almost like that of an ordinary man.”
”I didn’t dare to look at it because my body was trembling uncontrollably and I could be exposed at any moment out of fear.”
”Doctors talked at my side, they spoke words I could not understand at all, and it seemed that the only way to gain the relative power was to carry all the sins.”
”Not everyone in this world is capable of bearing sins, and the hospital has been searching for that most special of souls, and I, Dr. Gao, and the rag doll that reeks of stench are all targets they have their eyes on.”
”But all of us don’t fit the hospital’s requirements, their real purpose seems to be that they’re ready to build a blood-red city, and they need a soul that can carry all the sins of the entire city.”
”I don’t know why they are doing this, and I don’t have time to think about it, the black fog has awakened the monster inside me, and it devours me little by little.”
There were many more words densely written on the wall, most of them were not clearly readable, Chen Ge had tried his best to decipher them.
”No idea what he’s talking about at all? It’s better to lock up all such lunatics.” Xiao Sun stared at the blood-scabbed words on the wall, his back breaking out in a cold sweat.
”So what if they were all sane to begin with?” Chen Ge didn’t have any good feelings towards that hospital, if the other party felt that a person had potential, they would most likely drive them crazy through various means, and then slowly “treat” them.
With his back against the wall, Chen Ge combined all the contents from the diary, and he found a coincidence.
”Dr. Gao swallowed the door to the underground corpse vault and took the initiative to carry all the sins of the underground corpse vault. The Corpse Vault itself is fine, but Dr. Gao used the Weird Tales Association to artificially create countless sins, someone as smart as him wouldn’t not know what this means, it feels like he actively wanted to bear the sins of the entire Weird Tales Association.”
”Then look at the Underworld Fetus, it rebuilt the Nine Hongs neighborhood behind the Xiang Nuan Gate, locking the sins inside a building as a way to fight the Black Mist, creating an island of humanity, kind of like the beginnings of the Scarlet City.”
”Finally, there was that hospital, where Patient 5 saw behind the hospital doors a monster carrying the sins of an entire hospital as it marched through the black mist, and the fundamental purpose of the hospital seemed to be to build out the Scarlet City.”
”What is it about that blood-colored city that everyone is gravitating towards, what is it about that city that is drawing them in? Could it be that in order to build a city like that, there has to be one person who stands up and bears the sins of the entire city?”
Thinking of this, Chen Ge suddenly looked at his hands, “As I followed the black cell phone’s guidance and walked step by step, it seems like I also inadvertently carried the past of all the ghostly employees. Could it be that the true purpose of the black cell phone is also to want to build a blood-colored city?”
