Part 1v the undead chapter 53 tris’ discovery
One hundred Birklund Street, Portland Mormont’s house, corner of the garden.
Many of the ants and bugs that had converged towards this place began to disperse, and the eerie, cold feeling grew weaker and weaker.
That supernatural ability here should have little experience …… Hazel, seeing that the effect had been achieved, nodded her head faintly and then turned her body lightly and strolled along the path through the garden.
She didn’t rush back to the house, enjoying the scarlet moonlight, the cool air and the vaguely audible scent of the flowers all by herself.
After a long time, Hazel gave up her walk, left the garden, and entered the first floor hall.
At this time, excluding those guests who were playing Texas, there were already quite a number of gentlemen and ladies excusing themselves, and Hazel had just found her mother, Mrs. Liana, when she saw her father, Senator Macht, coming down from the second floor while chatting with a pleasant expression along with a few men.
”Ready to go home? You have a very important guest to visit tomorrow morning.” Liana inquired with a smile as she gestured for her daughter to lean in closer to her husband.
Councilor Macht nodded and said:
”If it weren’t for that, I think I would savor another Portland cigar.”
Liana’s gaze swept over Willis, Dawn Dantes, and the others next to her and asked casually:
”What are you guys, talking about? The topic seems interesting?”
Macht sidled up and smiled:
”Dawn said he had a ghostly encounter when he was on the southern continent.
”He and his companion woke up suddenly in the night and tried to open their eyes but couldn’t do it, and they were heavy, as if they were crushed.
”With a great deal of effort they finally got out of this state and left their sleeping beds, only to find the room very cold, and as you may not know, the weather in East and West Byron is hot most of the time.
”Then Dawn and her companion, each with a double-barreled shotgun, kept watch all night, and just as the sun was rising, left that town in a panic.”
After hearing this, Mrs. Lilliana looked into the face of Dawn Dantes with interest:
”Is it true?
”Do ghosts really exist?”
Klein smiled and shook his head:
”I can’t be sure, perhaps my companion and I had just experienced an adventure and were not mentally stable enough, and our health was in poor condition, so all sorts of problems arose.”
The story he recounted actually originated from one of Anderson’s experiences, as the Misty Sea’s strongest hunter explored a temple within the primitive jungle, he managed to encounter a ghost and staged a night run on a massive scale.
The ghost …… Hazel glanced sideways in the direction of the garden, the corners of her mouth slightly hooked, and then quickly converged.
She said nothing, listening quietly as her parents said goodbye to the acquaintances around them and returned with them to their home.
Late at night, Hazel, who had changed into her nightgown, went out onto the balcony and, standing behind a gap in the curtains, looked out over the sewer entrance on Birklund Street.
As she watched, her face gradually turned white, as if she recalled the experience filled with pain and fear.
She forced herself to withdraw her gaze, took two deep breaths, and then turned her body toward the bed.
During this process, she bit her lower lip lightly and muttered silently to herself:
”That would be a disgruntled spirit …… surely ……
”I need charms or items from the ‘sun’ realm ……”
As Hazel looked out over the entrance to the sewers, Klein surveyed the place as well.
After so many days have passed, I don’t know how well Tris, the witch, has recovered, and whether she has left …… Fortunately, Hazel was scared by me, and hasn’t dared to go near the sewer entrance for a while …… Klein’s gaze swept over the iron black gas street light pole, and the amplitude of his a very small nod.
He whirled around and opened the iron cigarette case, allowing his grumbling secret puppet to float inside the full-length mirror.
He had already decided to send Seniol to check inside the sewer to confirm Tris’s status, before that witch did something bad.
And that sewer was too close to Dawn Dantes as an identity for Klein to want Tris to stay around for long periods of time, only wishing that she would heal up sooner and get into action, away from Berklund Street.
Well, “General Blood” Seignior appears every once in a while, which is in line with the characterization I made earlier, that is, he doesn’t live around here, and often drifts over to look for secrets hidden in the sewers here. The secret puppet jumped to the surface of the gas streetlight next to the street with the help of the mirror, and then penetrated the manhole cover with a grudge-formed posture, quickly approaching the hidden turnoff where Tris was hiding.
Before reaching the end of the street, Seniole, who has the ability to see at night, saw that it was empty.
Has she healed and left? Klein thoughtfully motioned for the doll to move on, stopping at the area where Tris had been sitting.
He noticed that it had been made clean, not only was the floor no longer muddy and wet, but even the moss on the walls and corners was gone.
There were no food crumbs either …… Did that guy become a cleanliness freak after he turned into a woman? No, maybe he was originally …… Klein examined the surroundings with the help of the vision of the “ghost” Seignior, and judged that Tris had either not yet left, or had just left not more than a day ago, or else this place could not be kept so clean.
No sooner had this thought occurred to him than the sound of light footsteps reached the Spirit’s ears.
Señor maneuvered his way back to the outside and was surprised to see Tris in a drab black dress.
The witch’s black hair was silky and unlike the various hairstyles of other young girls her age, it was simple and uncluttered.
Combined with the face that had regained its blood color but was still fair, at this moment, Tris was like a dreamy flower that quietly bloomed in the dark night.
Worthy of being a witch …… Fortunately, I am separated by a layer of secret puppets, otherwise I would be a little out of my mind to gaze at her …… Oh, dead people will not be tempted! No matter how great the witch s charm is, it can t make the dead turn into living corpses and drill out of the grave …… Klein belabored a few words, and said to Tris, who appeared to be bewildered but was actually secretly wary, and released invisible silk threads:
”Where have you been?”
Tris raised an eyebrow and said:
”Do you like to address your personal hygiene where you sleep?”
Uh …… I thought magical girls didn’t need to go to the lavatory …… Klein laughed to himself, causing “Spiteful Spirit” Seniol to chuckle:
”You mean piss and shit?”
He’d deliberately made the Secret Puppet say that to fit the rude pirate persona of the Admiral of Blood.
Tris frowned less obviously with a showy frown and said:
”Is there more?”
”Spiteful Souls,” Seignior said instead of continuing the conversation, turning to:
”You seem to be recovering well.”
Tris said with a light smile:
”Not bad, I’ll be out of here tomorrow.”
She paused for a moment, her slightly slender eyes narrowing slightly:
”Frankly speaking, there are times when I wonder if you’re really the ‘General above Blood’.”
Of course it’s true! You should have asked dead or alive …… Klein spared the secret puppet Seignior:
”Why do you say that?”
Tris said as her eyes swept over the face of the Spiteful Spirit:
”It is said that the ‘General above Blood’ is a man who indulges his desires and has no resistance to beautiful women or men.
”And when you faced me, I saw no spark of desire.
”I thought the real ‘General above Blood’ would have tacked on a clause forcing me to do so the last time we reached an agreement to work together.”
Krynn deliberated for two seconds, causing “Spiteful Soul” Seniol to chuckle to himself:
”I’m afraid of indulging in ‘pleasure’ and being controlled by you.”
Tris’ expression changed for a moment, which was indeed one of the reasons she had initiated the topic.
To magical girls who controlled ‘pleasure’, extraordinary people who were used to indulging their desires were natural prey.
Klein took the initiative to skip this topic and let the secret puppet say:
”You’re going to search for your target tomorrow?
”Obviously, that palace guard chief must know you well enough to know exactly what you look like.”
After all, you’re the one they’ve placed at Prince Edzak’s side …… Klein added silently in his mind.
Tris buried her head and looked at her toes, letting out a low laugh and said:
”You can rest assured that I have a perfect plan.”
Saying that, she turned her body sideways and pointed deeper into the sewers in a seemingly casual manner:
”From here, at the end of the sixth fork to the left, there are hidden passages and traces of prolonged human activity, huh, I found it in the past few days wandering around.
”I guess it has something to do with that girl from last time ……
”And what you came here for?”
Hidden passages? Klein didn’t affirm or deny, making “Spiteful Spirit” Seniol laugh:
”Did you find anything?”
Tris shook her head:
”Nothing, perhaps it would have to be a specific way, or someone with a specific item to find a clue.”
”Stealer’s intuition, or the item on Hazel’s person?” Krynn didn’t let Seignior continue this topic, pressing his hand to his chest, he smiled and curtsied, saying:
”Now that you have healed, I can rest easy.”
As soon as his words left his mouth, his entire person suddenly disappeared.
Tris gazed at him, but she did not get any results until the invisible threads that she had sent out were blown by the “breeze” at the far end of the threads, and then she withdrew her eyes to make sure that the “Blood General” had really left.
By now, Klein had already maneuvered the “Spirit of Grievance” back to the entrance of the sewers, without trying to explore the place Tris had mentioned.
He chose to do so for three main reasons: first, it was more than a hundred meters away; second, he suspected that he probably wouldn’t be able to find anything, after all, he wasn’t a “stealer” and didn’t have the appropriate items; and third, Tris was still there.
……
On Sunday morning, Forsyth, who had slept through the night, got up, washed up, grabbed a slice of toast, and opened the door to take a bunch of stuff out of the mailbox.
As she made her way to the coffee table with the coffee in it, she casually turned over the things in her hands and found a letter back that she had been expecting for days.
Leaving the newspaper, bills and other correspondence behind, Voorhees opened the one in her hand.
”…… Teacher has arrived in Berkland?” Foerth quickly skimmed through it and whispered out in surprise.
At the same time, she saw the toast she was holding in her mouth fall straight to the ground.
