Part 3 The Traveler Chapter 22 The Red Skull Pirates
An Extraordinary being allowed to leave the fleet? Without needing special instructions from Danez, Klein easily understood why he found it strange.
In the Night Watchman Squad, even purely civilian personnel would be subject to strict restrictions, normal departure would sign a lifelong confidentiality agreement, they could not leave the jurisdiction of the Night Watchman Squad to which they originally belonged without authorization, and after obtaining approval to relocate to another city, they would need to look for the local Church of the Darkness to register at the first opportunity.
From such regulations can be seen in the official attitude towards extraordinary power and corresponding things, an extraordinary person who has drunk the magic potion can not be so easy to leave the organization.
Klein clearly remembers that Ms. “Justice” clearly had the channels and methods to become an extraordinary person, but she was reluctant to try, giving the reason that she didn’t want to lose her freedom.
Similar thoughts played within his mind, but were not translated into words, as the polite but aloof Germaine Sparrow would not be interested in such rumors.
”So what?” Klein asked calmly and rhetorically as he looked at the cutlery on the table.
Wouldn’t chat! “Blaze” Danez took a dark breath and squeezed out a smile:
”Haha, I just thought it was strange that we all suspected him of joining MI9 and monitoring things on the route as a captain.”
It’s possible …… Klein picked up the glass containing white water and took a sip.
The dishes he’d ordered, categorized as such, began to come up one by one, and the restaurant presented two glasses of sweet, bubbly, pale golden aperitif.
Klein stopped talking and focused on enjoying the food, thinking that this was really quite a bit better than the second class dining room.
The violin echoed lazily, the light contact between knife and fork and china plate happened intermittently, the blue, open sea outside the window swirled quietly, and everything seemed so beautiful.
Just as Klein entered the dessert part of the meal, a crew member stomped in and rushed to the table where Erland was.
”Captain, there’s a pirate ship!” He didn’t hide his voice.
Most of the passengers were creeped out and stopped eating.
Klein raised his head, his eyes dark and cold as he looked across the table at Daniz.
”Blaze,” Danez stiffened for a second, spread a bitter smile, and lowered his voice:
”Would you believe me when I say this has nothing to do with me?”
Klein soothed his eyelid muscles, which had nearly twitched from the performance, and slowly sketched the corners of his mouth:
”Guess.”
I guess you son of a bitch! Danez burst into a fit of annoyance and nearly swore out of his mouth.
He kept his smile on and said:
”You are wise enough to judge everything.”
By this time, Aeran had quickly asked about the situation, stood up, and said to the somewhat alarmed first class passengers:
”There is only one pirate ship, and we are more than capable of dealing with it.
”Ladies and gentlemen, please return to your rooms in an orderly fashion and wait for the good news to come; believe me, the confusion has done far more damage than the pirate attack, and I don’t want any such rumors in the future that although we managed to repel the pirates on the White Onyx, five, six, seven, or eight of the passengers were injured in their own fall.”
At his arrangement, maintained by one of the crew, Donna and the others left the dining room in turn and returned to their own cabins, which included Klein and “Blaze” Danez.
”I thought you were going to take over the White Onyx temporarily and try to keep the ship out of harm’s way.” Danitz asked as he closed the door in room 312 with the mindset of watching a drama.
The fact that he was able to throw out an olive branch and talk up the program and treatment as soon as he found the right person for the job was enough to show that he was an outgoing and conversational sailor captain in his own right.
Crane glanced at him and walked over to the window, looking out to see a large ship with a red skull and crossbones flag flying over the sea and sky coming this way, with smokestacks and sails.
”Recognize them?” Klein stood with his hands in his pockets behind a thick glass window.
Danez came to his diagonal rear and peered out for two seconds and said:
”Red Skull Pirates, small to medium sized force.
”Captain is ‘Seawolf’ Johnson with a bounty of 900 pounds, first mate is ‘One-Eye’ Andersen with a bounty of 500 pounds.”
In the pirate world, bounty was an important reference for status and position.
Considering that he currently didn’t have too good of an ability to move underwater, and that allowing pirates to board the ship could easily result in casualties among innocent people, Klein was silent for a few seconds and said:
”Do they recognize you?”
”Of course!” Daniz instantly straightened his back, “They are qualified to participate in the inter-pirate fest, and were once kicked in the ass by me.”
No less than 3000 pounds of well-known pirates …… Klein asked again with an unchanged expression:
”Do they have binoculars?”
”It’s a mandatory item, even after taking control of this ship, there will be sailors standing on the t-lookout and using the binoculars to observe the surrounding area to prevent a surprise attack.” Daniz replied with hidden disdain.
He could sort of tell that this dangerous guy was a newly minted adventurer, and was most likely a first time visitor to the sea.
Formerly a famous bounty hunter? A member of a hidden organization? Daniz subconsciously guessed up Germaine Sparrow’s past.
”At times like this, do the captain and first mate watch this side with binoculars?” Klein was going to substitute 900 pounds and 500 pounds, but thought that was a bit rude.
”Definitely, they have to keep a good grasp on the object of their plunder at all times.” Danez replied, slightly perplexed.
He didn’t understand what Gelman Sparrow’s purpose was in asking these questions, according to his thoughts, if he possessed as much power as the other party, he would definitely let the Red Skull Pirates get close enough to find a chance to board their ship and take everyone out.
Klein turned his head sideways and looked at Danez with a Sven and warm smile:
”That’s fine.”
What are you trying to do? Don’t smile like that! Danitz suddenly panicked and mustered the courage to fight back.
”Take off your wig.” Klein calmly commanded.
Huh? With a moment of confusion, Danitz moved slowly to remove the wig from his head.
Klein pulled a special bottle of pure dew from within the concealed pocket of his clothing and handed it over:
”Wipe your eyebrows and face clean.”
This was the mysterious “makeup remover” that he had prepared for the Joker’s disguise before he was promoted to “Faceless Man”, and he had used it when he surrounded and killed the “Spiteful Soul” of the Rose School.
Now Klein naturally no longer need this kind of thing, but has not been willing to throw away.
”……” Daniz became more and more puzzled, but before the other party had a substantial attack, he was not willing to get to the point where he could not return, so he followed the instructions, cleaned off the camouflage on his face, and restored his original appearance.
Retrieving the metal vial, Klein pulled open the window, letting the sea breeze from outside pour in.
”You stand here, facing out.” He pointed directly behind the window and said to Daniz “Flame”.
Bewildered and wary, Daniz walked over and stood firmly behind the window.
Klein scrutinized it for a few seconds and said calmly:
”You have two choices, climb out on your own and hang there conspicuously, or hang there conspicuously with me by your collar.”
”What do you want to do?” Danez asked offhandedly.
Klein smiled amiably once more:
”Showing you to the men of that pirate crew, the ‘Iceberg Admiral’s’ Fourth Sailor-Master should carry enough weight to dissuade them.”
”No, it can’t be!” Daniz subconsciously chose to refuse.
He could imagine what kind of judgment the Red Skull Pirates would make when they found out about him, either “Flame” Daniz was captured and there was a very scary and powerful person on board, or this ship had already been targeted by “Iceberg Admiral”, and the other pirates immediately stayed away.
And I was hanging out of the posture will determine which way they will think …… Danez thought sadly.
Klein smiled ever more kindly:
”I’m a very nice person to deal with, really, as long as you do what I tell you.”
This instant, Daniz felt that unspeakable and indescribable hunger again, only to feel that a piece of his body’s flesh and blood and the soul inside him would be torn off at any moment.
Weighing his options for a second, he half raised his hands and gritted his teeth in a smile:
”I’ll do it myself.”
Holding back his anger and suffocation, Daniz turned and climbed out of the window, leaning on his oft-practiced balance and strength to hang on to the outside of the cabin, using his backward elbows as support.
”Don’t try to escape, I’m not a patient man.” Klein’s expression turned cold and his tone was gentle as he warned.
Hoo…… Danez resisted the urge to let go of his elbows and jump straight down.
On the pirate ship in the distance, the crew member responsible for observing the White Onyx passed a message to “Sea Wolf” Johansson:
”Chief, there’s a strange guy hanging out of the window by himself!”
Johansson froze for a second and raised his binoculars to his eyes.
He quickly realized the strange guy his men were talking about, because the other party’s position was too conspicuous.
Well, if it isn’t Danez “The Flame”! Johansson’s eyebrows jumped as he recognized him.
Why was he on the White Onyx? What does he mean by hanging out? Was this the Iceberg Admiral’s prey? After a series of questions, the “Sea Wolf” made a judgment.
He raised his right hand and said:
”Attention all, stay away from this sea immediately!”
……
Inside room 305, Krivis stood by the window with a tight grip on the revolver, preventing a possible gangway battle.
The Donna family, somewhat frightened, did not return to their respective bedrooms, but just sat there in the living room, waiting for the shelling to begin, while Cecil and another bodyguard, Teague, stood by their side, on full alert.
It was at this point that a look of disbelief came into Crivis’s slightly averted eyes.
After several minutes, he stepped back, lowered his gun, and addressed the crowd:
”The pirates have left.”
”What?” Such a development left Uldi Blanche and the others both surprised and puzzled, completely confused as to what the pirates were thinking.
……
Room 312.
”Blaze” Danez crawled back in and grunted with difficulty holding his tongue:
”You are capitalizing on our Captain’s reputation! She’s sick of this sort of thing!”
You’re going to get a lecture from the Iceberg Lieutenant General! Dahniz thought indignantly in his mind.
Klein listened quietly and asked thoughtfully in return:
”As I recall, her bounty in Rune was 26,000 pounds?”
……This crazy ……Daniz was completely unable to find the words to respond.
