Part 4 The Undead Chapter 55 Dorian’s Caveat
Germaine Sparrow …… Dorian’s forehead veins jumped as he listened, his hands clasped involuntarily, and his body actually tightened inexplicably.
Being in the harbor of Prizefinder, he was, whether actively or passively, more aware of the various rumors of the sea than the citizens of Berkland who relied on reading the newspapers for their knowledge.
In recent months, he had always heard about Germaine Sparrow from different sources, starting from the killing of “Steel” McVitie, and continuing to the severe beating of “Disease Admiral” Tracy, the successful hunting of “Blood Admiral” Seniol, and the successful hunting of “Blood Admiral” Seniol, while he had always been aware of the rumors. “Seignior”, and these stories have their own tinge of madness.
He left the sea and came to Birkeland? And he didn’t change his crazy traits! Dorian hid the fear and wariness that subconsciously rose within him, looked at his own student, and said in a deep voice:
”Contact this bounty hunter less in the future.
”He will cause a big problem one day, and it won’t be long.”
Teacher is really experienced and discerning, immediately saw through the essence of Mr. “World”…… Unfortunately, I am already a member of the Tarot Society, there is no way not to contact …… Foerth Adjusting his state, he nodded sincerely:
”Yes, teacher.”
Dorian calmed his emotions and took another deep look at his past student’s current enemy, Louis Vine.
However, the “traveler” could no longer speak, not even in spirit.
After a few seconds of silence, Dorian leaned back slightly and looked over at Voorhees:
”Did you say you paid 10,000 pounds as a reward?”
He was not aware of Folth’s financial situation, only knowing that this student was a best-selling novel writer, should have quite a lot of payment, and usually mixing with a few circles of extraordinary people seemed to be pretty good, always having high-paying deals, so to be able to save 10,000 pounds of deposits wasn’t something too shocking too unacceptable.
Forsyth moved his body slightly sheepishly and said:
”Too much of a premium?”
She deliberately used the rhetorical question to disguise the fact that she had misrepresented the price, as a way of appearing to have little experience in similar matters.
Dorian shook his head:
”No, it’s too cheap.
”So cheap that I can’t help but suspect Germaine Sparrow has another agenda.”
As a member of the repeatedly battered Abraham family, he always kept his guard pretty high.
In the jargon of the various clubs and parties, this is called the price of membership …… Forsyth ventriloquized and “confessed”:
”There were other agreements, including that all items on Louis Vine’s person belonged to him, as well as providing some effective assistance, and that I had a promise to follow up with roughly three thousand pounds of reimbursement in the event that he was in dire need of cash.”
”That’s barely reasonable.” Dorian nodded gently, “Normally, the price for assassinating Louis Vine, who is backed by the forces of the Aurora Society, would be at least 30,000 pounds, well, plus more if there are other circumstances.”
Mr. “World” used the demigod-level ability from “Lemanno’s Travel Notes” at that time… …… This should be the extra situation… …a holy man of the Aurora Society? Voorhees, who had been educated in the Tarot Society, was no stranger to the structure of the Aurora Society, and frowned without hiding it:
”So it does seem a bit unusual, perhaps, he’s in a hurry to use the money?”
Dorian thought for a moment:
”Perhaps he’s just more concerned about Louis Vine’s extraordinary properties, which can be crafted into quite useful magical items for extraordinary people of other paths, provided he finds the right ‘craftsman’ …… ”
Dorian paused for two seconds and added:
”No need to be too concerned, just stay away from him afterward.
”Maybe he’s had his eye on Louis Vine for a long time, and just happened to act on the information you provided, while still having an off-budget income that way.”
Dorian didn’t continue the subject, instead pulling out a fist-sized ball of pure crystal from his clothing pocket:
”It is made of star crystal and will effectively enhance your astrology.”
In the light from the window, the crystal ball floated in a bright “wave”.
Not waiting for Voorhees to open his mouth to refuse, Dorian laughed:
”Louis Vine is my enemy, the payment for getting rid of him should be paid by me, I don’t have that much cash at the moment, so I can only use some items to offset it.”
”No, there’s no need ……,” Forsyth said, shaking her head half-sincerely, half-against her will.
Sincerely, when she intended to remove Louis Vine, she simply wanted to help her teacher take revenge, not considering the possible rewards that would follow, and against her will, she couldn’t refuse.
Dorian said with a straight expression:
”Do you want to make me feel guilty and uneasy?
”Don’t worry, I still have some stature as your teacher.”
Voorhees nodded obediently:
”Alright.”
Dorian renewed his smile:
”Also, I brought you the ‘Records Officer’ magic potion formula, you can digest the ‘Ascendant’ magic potion while collecting the corresponding materials, hehe, I will give you one of the main materials, the Ascendant’s Brain, and the rest will depend on yourself.”
Ascendant was a monster that only existed in ancient rumors, shaped like a human’s unprotected brain, enough to fill up a room, it could not only create terrifying illusions, but also make those who attacked it die from their own attacking methods.
As he spoke, Dorian took out a piece of tawny parchment and handed it to Voorhees.
Voorhees took it gratefully and gave a quick glance at what the main ingredients were:
”One complete Asman’s Brain, Cursed Object of Ancient Grievance ……”
Hopefully I can gather the rest of the materials before I finish digesting the Ascendant’s potion …… Voorhees had just rolled up the parchment when he saw his teacher, Dorian, pulling a solid gold box out of his trunk.
Dismantling the wall of spirituality, Dorian said as he opened the lid:
”Without the gold isolation, the Brain of Asman will affect you unceasingly, causing you to hallucinate until you become psychotic.”
Inside the square box, a grayish-white, wrinkled and raised, translucent mass of something, only one-fifth the size of Louis Vine’s head, lay quietly.
It is worthy of the long history of the family …… Forsyth once again sincerely thanked, received that solid gold square box, skillfully closed the lid, and made a blockade with the wall of spirituality.
Dorian didn’t stop there, turning to excuses to get Folth to avoid it a little while he himself set up the ritual, summoning the music-loving void creature Marmos, and removing two stacks of documents from within the fellow’s orb-like body.
–The three items from before were the ones he was going to give to Voorhees right after he was shocked by the news related to Mr. “Door”, so he put them by his side in advance.
”These are two Bakerland properties, one in the Hilston area and one in the Chorwood area, both in good locations, the total price should be 6,500 pounds, whatever you can sell is yours.” Dorian said with a smile.
Although the Abraham family has fallen into disrepair, as a former angel family with a long history, it still has quite a lot of inventory, which includes land, woodlands, properties, estates, and mineral deposits, but Dorian is only in charge of some of them, and most of the rest belongs to various small families.
The house I am now renting has a market value of 2,500 pounds, the area is okay, and the lot is average …… The things the teacher gave today really add up to 10,000 pounds …… Forsyth could not help but feel a sigh of relief in his heart.
……
Inside the Holy Wind Cathedral, “Deep Blue High Priest” Radar Valentine looked at the opposite side of the “vicarious punisher” deacon and said:
”What’s the result?”
The new Archbishop of Birkeland was an imposing middle-aged man with dark blue hair, large earlobes, and eyes that seemed to harbor lightning and storms at all times.
The Deacon of the Vicarious Punisher, who stood at his table, was a lean, middle-aged man wearing a modified captain’s hat, with little in the way of distinguishing features, except for a green and black tattoo in the shape of an anchor at the nape of his neck.
The gentleman replied respectfully:
”Your Excellency, we have captured several of the persons who attended that party.
”But they don’t know who the others are, let alone the identity of the one who assassinated Mr. X.
”According to their descriptions, the assailant is around 1 meter 6 in height, and the odds are that he’s a woman, not excluding the possibility of a shorter man.”
Radar pressed his anger:
”What do you guys plan to do next?”
”Since we can’t be informed of who Mr. X has invited to the party for the time being, and it’s fairly common to see women around 1m6, our plan is to relax our vigilance on the surface, keeping an eye on only a few suspicious targets and converting the captured individuals into informants. In the absence of our pressure, the Aurora Club’s group of lunatics will definitely take the initiative to seek out the murderer and avenge Mr. X. They should have a general scope of elimination, so that we can not only find the assassin, but also discover clues from the Aurora Club in reverse.” The lean middle-aged man explained in detail.
Radar nodded thoughtfully and said:
”Roy, remember to apply for a ‘1’ level seal when you move.
”The situation at the scene suggests that the Aurora Society has at least one Saint in Bekrand, and that assassin is stronger than a normal Sequence 5, with the same Demigod behind him.”
”As you wish, His Eminence the Cardinal.” Roy Wellington said as he gripped his right fist and struck his left chest.
……
”Dawn, you always exceed my expectations, it’s only been a short while, and you’ve already completed the ‘Book of Wisdom’ portion of the Night’s Revelation.” Inside the St. Samuel’s Church, Bishop Elektra closed the canon in his hand and smiled at the pious rich man with white sideburns and deep blue eyes in front of him.
Klein smiled and laughed:
”That’s what a believer should do.
”The ‘Epistles of the Holy One’ portion of the study is next?”
”Yes. Which Saint are you going to start with?” Bishop Elektra asked.
Klein glanced around and laughed softly:
”Just St. Samuel.”
Bishop Elektra was not surprised by this and introduced himself seriously:
”St. Samuel was the archbishop of the church in Bekland during the fourth era of the Trenthost Empire, made outstanding contributions to the spread of the goddess’ faith, and entered the Kingdom of God during his lifetime, becoming an angel ……”
As he spoke, he flipped to the corresponding “Epistle of the Holy One”.
At that moment, Klein’s inspiration was suddenly touched, only to feel a deep malice and evil thoughts instantly open up upstairs.
Immediately after, a cold and deep feeling extended out from the ground, soothing everything, and the church returned to its previous tranquility.
Bishop Elektra snapped out of his daze and said to Dawn Dantes, who was not aware of anything in front of him:
”Sorry, just remembered something else.”
