Part 4 The Undead Chapter 63 Patience
As a homebody, Emlyn could count on one hand the number of battles he had been involved in over the years, and had never tried to fight one against many.
Whether it was against that “Primordial Moon” follower or Bishop Utrafsky of the Harvest Church, he basically had the advantage of numbers, or at worst, one-on-one.
Thinking of his own family of three could not defeat the half-giant bishop, Emlin’s face gradually turned green, as if recalling the torture encountered in the Harvest Church.
Because there were quite a few incoming and outgoing tenants, and Garris Kevin, the artificial vampire, had equally sharp senses, he didn’t dare to linger too long outside the door, and quickly crossed there, making his way to the end of the aisle and hiding in the darkness.
What to do next …… Emlyn leaned his back against the clutter that blocked the scarlet moonlight, his thoughts racing, trying to figure out a countermeasure from his pitifully little experience.
Gradually, some of the words that the “Hanged Man” taught the “Sun” came to his mind:
”Patience is an important prerequisite for coping with many situations. ……
”Knowing how to restrain your impulsiveness and impatience is the best way to avoid risks ……
”There are times when stoicism is important ……”
Stoicism …… Emlyn nodded his head imperceptibly, understanding what he had to do.
He was going to lurk here and wait for Argos to leave!
This was not the residence of this artificial vampire, he would inevitably leave, and then, Emlyn would be able to solve the problem one-on-one again.
Patience, stoicism, waiting …… Emlyn repeated similar words in his mind as a way to combat the damage his surroundings were doing to him.
The air on the first floor of the apartment was filled with the smell of urine, damp water rot, the smell of unflushed stool, the pungent smell of burning poor-quality coal, the stench of sweat that hadn’t been washed for many days, the strong odor that some tenants brought with them, and all sorts of sour, unpleasant, and disgusting smells, which were mixed together and eroded Emlyn’s senses like poison.
For the first time in his life, Emlyn wanted to cut off his nose, with the feeling of being in the abyss being in hell to endure torture.
Patiently …… waiting …… waiting …… he mechanically recited the “code”, feeling that every second is so long.
Finally, he saw the door of Garris Kevin’s room was opened, a skin color dark brown body lean figure walked out, side cheekbones protruding, high nose, the tip of the hook, is the “original moon” believers in Argos.
At this moment, his face has several swollen and festering places, looks a bit disgusting.
Sure enough, just as Ian that little “old man” said, this guy is wearing a complete and clean clothes, not at all like the residents of the East End …… Emlin spirit, grunted as he watched Argos out of the apartment.
After waiting patiently for nearly five minutes, he stood up and decided to launch into action.
Since the target, Garris Kevin, was an artificial vampire, Emlyn was quite aware of what the other party was good at and what kind of traits he possessed, and was able to prepare for it in a targeted manner.
Garris Kevin’s sense of smell can’t be much worse than when I was a new adult, heh, that’s not really so sure, it’s amazing that he can live in this kind of environment, maybe he’s lost his nose lost his brain …… Also, his spirituality can’t be weak, with instinctive intuition of danger… …Sight and hearing are likewise not bad …… Emlyn despised the other party while taking magic potions and spraying liquids to mask the smell of his body once again, deeply.
Immediately afterward, like last time, he concealed his body and coat through the magic potion that he took internally and sprayed externally, and disappeared as if he had been erased by an eraser.
In an unoccupied dark corner, a palm-sized copper-green notebook suddenly emerged from the void, as if it had just passed through some transparent barrier.
It flipped on its own with barely a sound, finally settling on a page of white paper made up of many astrological symbols.
These symbols then disappeared, and the surrounding area brightened up a little.
This is the interference ability of the Astrologer!
Then, the copper-green “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” retracted, disappeared inch by inch, and was covered by the invisible barrier again.
Ready to go, Emlyn thought about the course of action, lightened his steps, and made his way to the outside of Garris-Kevin’s room, but did not approach the front door.
Once again, the copper-green notes appeared out of thin air and turned to the page that said “Open the door”.
An illusory voice echoed in Emlyn’s mind, “pushing” him to reach out a hand and press it against the wall.
At the same time, Emlyn discreetly took the “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” back to the inside of his clothes and covered it with the help of an invisible jacket.
When Emlyn’s palm finally pressed against the wall, a blue, insubstantial door appeared in front of him, set into the wall but showing traces of the masonry below.
Listening sideways to the movement of the room and sniffing the air, Emlyn stepped forward and passed through the ghostly blue door as if it were a curtain of water.
Before his eyes, the scene changed instantly to reveal stained walls, wooden sleeping beds placed on three other sides, worn cupboards, and various miscellaneous items.
This was the interior of Garris Kevin’s room!
And the ghostly blue door behind Emlyn had long since disappeared, as if it had never existed at all.
Looking around cautiously, Emlyn caught the figure of his target, Garris Kevin.
This follower of the Primordial Moon was a good-looking hybrid, with long hair that fell to his shoulders, and brown eyes with a hint of dark red, which didn’t seem to have fully acquired the color of the Bloods’ eyes.
At the moment, he was sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the doorway, wondering what he was thinking.
Emlyn went around to the side without making any noise, took out “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” in his blind spot, and turned to a page that made his fingers tingle slightly.
The page was yellowish-brown, and seemed to belong to parchment, which was covered with all kinds of ancient and twisted symbols and patterns, which together formed a pattern like a thin tree stretching its branches.
Adjusting his angle, Emlyn slid his fingers across the paper.
In a flash, a silver-white electric light illuminated the interior of the room as if it were day.
Before the sound of Zi came out, the lightning had struck directly above the head of Garris Kevin, splitting the body of this believer in the “primordial moon” instantly charred and blackened, his body trembled violently, and his eyes briefly lost focus.
While the silver-white electric snake was still fluttering in confusion, Emlyn White’s figure steeply appeared behind the stiff target, poked out his right palm, and pinched the other party’s neck.
Click!
He calmly twisted off Garris Kevin’s cervical vertebrae, then pulled off the head with force and threw out the body, not giving the opponent a chance to recover by utilizing his superb self-healing ability.
Snap!
Galice Kevin’s headless body fell to the ground, spilling blood everywhere.
An artificial vampire lost his life just like that.
Emlyn’s calm expression was quickly replaced by dismay, looking down at the head in his hand in disbelief and realizing that Garris-Kevin hadn’t understood what had happened until he died, with the dual colors of pain and confusion frozen within his eyes.
So easy? That easy? Emlyn, as proud as he was, didn’t think he could take out an artificial vampire so easily, but the facts told him it was that simple and that easy.
Lightning strikes that can cause paralysis, combined with my own high-speed movement ability, I was able to achieve the effect of instantly killing the target …… Heh, provided that the opponent is very afraid of lightning and is easily paralyzed as a result …… Also, the interference with psychic intuition beforehand and the act of avoiding the front and walking through the wall to get in were the keys to success. behavior, all of which were the key to success …… After staying stagnant for a few seconds, Emlyn finally reviewed the details of what had just happened and summarized quite a few lessons.
This made him truly realize the power of the extraordinary ability to match and the value of “Lemanor’s travel notes”.
No wonder Mr. “Inverted Man” was the first to want to rent …… Emlin withdrew his thoughts and looked at the gurgling blood of Garris Kevin, and couldn’t help but move the knot in his throat.
It had been a long time since he had drunk such fresh blood.
However, he didn’t dare to drink it because the other party’s extraordinary characteristics hadn’t been analyzed yet, and there were embedded portions in the blood, so drinking it would easily cause the problem of an overdose of extraordinary characteristics, and there was a latent risk of losing control, which was not conducive to the next action.
Emlyn withdrew his eyes and looked around, finding a stack of stale newspapers and a small wooden box to be used later for Galice Kevin’s head.
And until then, he sat back and waited for the other man’s extraordinary traits to parse out.
Two minutes later Emlyn suddenly raised his head and looked toward the door.
He heard footsteps leaning in!
Immediately afterward, he smelled Argos!
This artificial vampire had returned? He had turned back halfway? Emlyn White was a little nervous for a moment, unsure of how to handle the situation.
Knock!
Outside, Argos knocked on the door of the room, then stopped making any sound and became unusually silent.
Emlyn was first stunned, then realized that the other party had smelled the smell of blood and had already detected that there was a situation in the room.
What should be done …… directly rushed out to solve him? No, this will be seen by others, and will encounter the capture of the official extraordinary …… Emlin instinctively took out a potion and prepared to hide himself again.
Then, he had an inspiration accordingly.
Exhaling noiselessly, Emlyn placed Garris-Kevin’s head on the bed, drank the invisibility magic potion himself, sprayed the corresponding liquid, and moved very gently and slowly to the corner and hid.
After this, the room was a scene where the assassination had been completed and the murderer had fled long ago.
Time passed, and there was silence both outside and inside the door, no sound being made, except occasionally by other tenants.
Suddenly the window of Galice Kevin’s room creaked open, and two lines of sight betook themselves.
After careful probing, Argos, whose face showed signs of ulceration, leaped into the room with a press and a leap, and walked slowly toward the body which was not visibly precipitating extraordinary properties.
In the corner, Emlyn White, taking advantage of the fact that the other party did not look this way, quietly took out the “Lemanor’s Travel Notes” and turned it to another page “Lightning Strike”.
It was then that Argus’s eyes fell on the bed, on his companion’s head, on the pile of old newspapers and on the small wooden box.
His pupils contracted.
